Xtreme Music - Console Launcher Freezes!?

I have Xtreme Music card. It worked fine for about a day but then weird things started happening. After the computer has been on for about 5 minutes the console launcher freezes and I an unable to switch modes. Nothing happens when I choose "Mode Switcher" or right click on the taskbar icon and when I reboot a however many times I clicked on the mode switcher, that's how many of those programs all the sudden show up but my computer is shutting down so by that time it is too late. It doesn't matter what I am doing for the 5 minutes. I have played BF2 or just let it idle and I get the same results. I have XP with SP2?Any help please!

Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

To : woj2322, You may need to download and install the Dell Notebook System Software version 5.0.5. This installs patch fixes to solve the PCI ExpressCard device not work correctly. This is only for the DELL Inspiron 520 Notebook (See Below). Microsoft patch fix info below also. Also, I see there's other people that are having the same issue, maybe you to need to download and install the patch fix for your notebook's on dell's website. It's called "Dell Notebook System Software" under "System Utilities"

  • Problem X-Fi Xtreme Music and Console Launcher

Hello, (I'm german student, so sorry for my english)
    I re-installed Windows 7 32bit a few days ago.
Now, I already fixed the problem with Console Launcher as a tray icon.
I installed the latest drivers from Creative and Console Launcer from CSL_PCAPP_LB_2_60_29.
But I have the problem that the Console Launcher does not save my settings like bass to 60% or activating X-Fi Crystalizer. So if a change one of these settings and reboot my pc....everything is set back to normal.
    Help would be great.
    Thanks

If no one has an idea, could please someone tell me which drivers he installed to run a X-Fi Xtreme Music on Windows 7 32bit with Console Launcher perfectly.
    Thanks!

I don't have a solution I can share with you, but can you read my post and let me know if you have a solution/suggestion for my problems? Thanks.

  • No subwoofer with X-Fi Xtreme Music connected to analog 5.1 inputs of HT amplifier

I have a X-Fi Xtreme Music connected to the analog 5.1 channel inputs of my Thomson home theater amplifier.
Everything works fine expect for the subwoofer. When I play stereo content using CMSS 3D or when I use Creative's built-in DD or DTS decoders there's no sound of of the subwoofer. All the other speakers work perfectly but the subwoofer doesn't respond at all.
But when I use PowerDVD to playback a DVD/BluRay which has a Dolby or DTS 5.1 soundtrack the subwoofer works like a charm. I guess that's because PowerDVD uses it's own DD/DTS decoder and not the X-Fi's one.
I also tried to use the bass redirection function in the THX console but that didn't make a difference either.
I also tried different drivers but non of them could fix this so far:
-latest official driver and console launcher available from Creative (couldn't try the bass redirection with this driver as it has no THX console)

-SB X-Fi Series AuzenForte Pack .0 by daniel_k
Does anyone know that problem or maybe even know how to fix it's?
If it can't be fixed on the software side I thought about using a Y-cable and a low pass filter to input the X-Fi's center speaker signal into my amplifier's subwoofer input. The only problem with that would be that I would have to switch to the X-Fi's real subwoofer output and back when I play back a DVD or BluRay using PowerDVD as PowerDVD outputs the bass signal to the subwoofer output like it should be.
What do you think about that workaround?
    Thanks

Welcome to my dillema... i own the x-fi fatality and i'm on the virge of dumping it in favour of competition's cards. problem is that x-fi will NOT encode 5. over digital. Yes your receiver has 5. decoder but the card does NOT encode the sound. at best you'll get 2 channels. azuntech cards are capable of this I believe. what i am doing at the moment is use RCA cables and go over analog and let x-fi do the work as opposed to the receiver. 2x /8 stereo to 2 cable RCA, and /8 stereo to 3 cable RCA (camcorder type) cables. alternati'vely you can spend couple bucks and buy the adapter creative sells for connecting to home theater system. as far as what you can do to get x-fi to do 5. over digital... well there's not a hell of a lot you can do because the card doesn't support it... unless a creative staff can correct me and show me how to do this

  • Missing creative console launcher feature

)I've had an Xtreme music card for some time. Back with WinXP the sound driver had a task bar icon which could be used to quickly get a list sound card related programs, change volume, driver mode and so on. This feature does not exist anymore, not on Win7 at leased. I think I wrote a mail to the support team to ask about this feature, as it was way better than having to start the Creative Console Launcher every time.
Am I missing something, or is this feature really gone? I've been thinking of installing the XP drivers again and just use that instead of the new ones.
(by the way I just leared about the daniel k incident, my god Creative, what were you thinking? I don't think I should be expecting too much from the software department)

-The Daniel K support pack 2.0?has all the missing features your looking for. I had the same problem moving to W7 having a Xtrememusic also. Why Creative has to make everything a PITA is beyond me.

  • Creative Console Launcher EQualizer affects nothing

    ? Hey people!
I recently purchased Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card and Onkyo receiver. For first, sound was analogue connected (you know, like not digital) from my computer to the receiver with cable which had x 3.5mm plug and 2 x rca plugs. Afterwards I decided to make it digital, so I bought an optical cable. Everything works ok, but now the Creative Console Launcher application's equalizer (EQ) won't affect any sound at all in my computer. It doesn't change anything. For example, winamp's eq still works fine, but I need an eq that affects the whole computer's sounds: games, movies, music and all that stuff.
So I don't know what to do here. Already reinstalled the console and the drivers.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    (sry 'bout bad english)
(Console Launcher Version is currently 2.60.35 and i have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed on my PC)

My Friend ?neither equalizer, eax effects, crystalizer, nothing on concole launcher options works on digital output(SPDIF)
these options just works on analogue sound mode

  • Xi Fi Xtreme Music - You've got to be kidding m

I had the beta version of VISTA with a soundblaster li've card in my PC, I bought the Xi-Fi Xtreme Music Card?last month?for one purpose and hoping it would work with the FULL VERSION OF?VISTA. To enhance the quality of recording my music. Now with?VISTA,? its all messed up, still the same problem with?the li've card that the VISTA beta gave me. The?driver you have to download on here is not complete, sound stutters.. Mp3's crackle.... I can't record my music properly now. I? had to reinstall my Windows XP MCE,?and in?limbo with a copy VISTA home that I can't use properly.
You've got to be kidding me that I just wasted my money on?a new sound card,?that is not even ready for VISTA when it was released within the past month!!.. Wasn't the company atleast given a HEADS UP, so you would be READY with your hardware for VISTA?..
I am very confused and a bit pissed at the moment, can someone PLEASE let me know what is going on. Or when this problem is going to be FIXED!!..

Have you read the stickies on Windows Vista compatibility? Final drivers for the X-fi will be out in a few weeks it looks like. Meanwhile, if you're doing any mission-critical activities on your computer, you don't have any business using Vista just yet. I mean, most companies won't even switch to Vista for a year or more. There are going to be all kinds of issues when a new OS is released. I wish people would understand that before wigging out in the forums. I'm using my X-fi fatality pro series in Vista Ultimate and yes I miss the console launcher, working ac3 passthrough through spdif, and all the other stuff. But maybe I'm lucky in that my digital out works and EAX seems to work fine in BF242.
The point is, I knew going into the upgrade that some things wouldn't work or work properly for a little while. So no, nobody is kidding you. Just stick with Win XP until official drivers are up for all your hardware. Vista isn't going anywhere so I suggest you relax.

  • Vista + Xtreme Music = no 5.1 sounds in Team Fortres

Ok, finally took the plunge into Vista. All went well until I tried a few games. Main issue is that Team Fortress 2 now only plays sound from the centre channel - the other 4 speakers do not output any other sound. It's a clean install only 3 days ago, latest drivers for everything (as of 2 days ago), TF2 set to output to 5. speakers, Xtreme Music set to game mode with 5. speakers. No dice. Other sys specs:680i moboX-Fi XtremeMusic8800GTX680i SLI mobo2 x WD Raptor HD in RAID 0 mode2GB DDR800Logitech 5. speakers Any ideas

It used to work, I think Valve broke it in their 0/3 update. This was on their list of fixes:
"Fixed problems with 3d sound in surround mode for some Audigy X-Fi users."
There is a workaround for now. Enter the console and execute the following commands:
    snd_legacy_surround
    snd_restart
This doesn't seem to sound as good as it used to, but at least sound comes out of all the speakers. Hopefully Valve gets it fixed soon.

  • Xi-Fi Xtreme Music and Windows Vista 32 bit driv

I have a lot of problems with Vista driver. There is only one driver and it doesn't work correctly. Sometimes I have very bad noise, the sound skips, and it often has disturbance. When I connect the integrated sound card there are no problems. But I didn't give 00 $ for noise and to use intergrated soundMessage Edited by Botev92 on 05-29-20070:4 AM

Well to give Creative their due even if they took their time there are new drivers out for the X-Fi Xtreme Music and Vista and they work just fine. You can even select the different modes (entertainment, Game or Audio Creation) from within the Audio Console menu. Link:http://us.creative.com/support/downl...type=0&x=3&y=9

  • Poor X-FI Xtreme Music sound quality due to speake

I purchased a X-FI Xtreme music the other day, poped her in, and she sounded beautiful. That is until a couple days ago, when some songs I play having static sound (games run alot better now, because I was running a SB Li've! 24 BIt, it used alot of CPU). The main reason I love this card so much is because of the lightened load on my CPU, and because games sound so much better now. Problem is some of my music sounds like it has static fuzz in it, where other songs sound perfectly normal. Im wondering if it is my sound card, my speakers (I have TomMade 2. speakers, have had em for about 8 months, so they are getting old, cost me about 80 bucks Canadian when I got them) or the song file itself (because some songs sound normal, or perhaps the instruments are just so loud I cant hear the static). I dont know if it might be my speakers because they are old. And as for wonderng if its the sound file itself, the one song I hear it big time on is a quiet song at the start, but with some instrumental, and I hear static big time. Other songs are louder, and I dont know if i can hear the static or not. Coming from my SB LIve! 24 Bit, games sound better on my X-Fi, but I have to say that songs probably sound better on my SB Li've!. I didnt really notice alot of static on my old card, but maybe I just wasnt paying attention. Is there anyway I can be sure of what the problem is?
Another question but off topic, with my old card's software, I could change my output to 96 Hz. With the new software I can change digital output to 96, but Im not running digital speakers, I have analog (im guessing thats the SPDIF input settings under audio console) but if I go there, the SPDIF box is greyed out saying default. Perhaps the sound quality is lessened because the card thinks Im running digital?

96khz output is in thx console on the tab speaker selection and the heading "digital output sampling frequency" if you don't have then somethings gone wrong somewhere.
I can assure you though having 96 khz output will not make any difference to your sound its more likely that you have the other problem or static sound as you put it, that has not been fixed yet, this is what is likely to be degrading your sound not the digital output bit-rate. In fact in some cases setting it higher results in more static.
The static you get sounds like you have the the classic pops and crackles with the creative range of sound cards this has been going on for years, try reading the link I posted in my other post there are litterly thousands in the same boat as yourself.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Music + Digital I/O + Optical Connection for z-5

Hi there, im new and very raw so i was wondering if anyone can clear some things up.
Ive had my X-Fi Xtreme Music card for about 3 months and in that time i've been using the 3 analogue 3.5mm connections to my z-5500 controller, and i've had no problem in terms of getting full 5. sound for music and in games. Ive recently bought a digital I/O from creative to have an optical connection to the z-5500 controller.
    My questions are:
    1) Can i get 5. sound using the optical connection When i had the analogue connection, my z-5500 controller said it was 6. surround, but when i changed the input to optical, the controller said it was stero and not 6. surround. Ive testing the speakers in the creative console, but my rear right and rear left is mostly comming from my front right and front left speakers (something is comming out of the rear speakers but its very low)
    2) Ive downloaded the dell drivers and went through the process as noted on another thread and i've successfully got the dts and dolby digital working, but how do i know it works Is there some way i can test and see if it works I mean isnt my z-5500 controller supposed to say dts or dolby digital because at the moment it isnt.
    3) Is there any sound difference between an optical connection and the annalogue connection in terms of playing mp3's and games. Im aware that dts and dolby digital isnt available on the analogue connection, but i dont watch many dvd's on my comp so is there an point to have the optical connection
Thanks very much for anyone that helps.

To get a 5. spread on the 5500 with an optical or coaxial connection, you need to use the Effect button on the controller and switch to PL II Music. You can then spread the sound to the back using the Levels button and turning Surround up to your desired level. There are also some changes you can make using the Settings button.
As for the Dolby Digital and DTS, that will only show up on the controller when you are watching a DVD which supports either/or.
    Hope this helps

  • Xtreme music sb0460 model, is this oem ? Can't find driver "Setup is unable to detect a supported.."

Hello, I have bought creative xtreme music sb0460 model, and its probably oem product. My msi 880 gma motherboard recognise device in windows 7 32 bit as pci device, tries to find update. But nothing. Actually I did many things, I've disabled my onboard sound device, tired manually to install. Tried many new updates from 2008 for this model from creative database, but nothing I just only get message "Setup is unable to detect a supported product in your system" when try launch a setup. I don't know why is that. I will give some numbers and maybe you will help me. Serial number MASB0467641R08326T; Tested to comply with fcc standrats for home or office use complies with Canadian ICES-003 class b
    Thank you for advices !

Download the newest drivers for the card and extract them using WinZip, 7-zip, or WinRAR. Then you can manually browse to the driver folder with the .inf file inside and install the driver that way. Done it many times myself and it works well.

  • How to connect SB X-FI XTREME MUSIC with Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5

    Hi,
I want to know what I have to do to connect my x-fi xtreme music with my creative inspire 5. digital 5700 due to listen music with all? 5 twiters. I have windows vista ultimate 32bits. Thanks!?JoanMessage Edited by joanantoni on 07-9-200703:54 AM

With your Inspire 5. Digital 5700, your best bet is?using the analog Front and Rear input connections on the decoder and connect them to the X-Fi Xtreme Music front (Line Out )?and rear (Line?Out 2)?output connections and then enable CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Mode on your Digital 5700 decoder which will then give you a 4./5. Upmix. Gi'ven that you don't have a Center connection on the the Inspire 5. Digital 5700, no connection can made to the your Front Center satelite speaker/Subwoofer (Line Out 3) on your X-Fi Xtreme Music card. I'm led to understand that Creative speaker systems do not need Bass Redirection to reproduce proper Bass frequencies on your Subwoofer and not on your satelite speakers but you may want to test this simply enabling and disabling Bass Redirection, on your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card, to your own personal taste. Alternately, you can concurrently connect your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 via the Coxial Digital/PCM Input to the FlexiJack input/output jack on the X-Fi Xtreme Music and then enable Digital I/O mode for the FlexiJack in the Audio Console found in the Windows Control Panel or?in the Entertainment Mode or Game Mode Consoles. Unfortunately the FlexiJack only provides a 2 conductor connection therefore it only supports 2. Speaker system connections?therefore you will still have to enable the CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Modes on your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 decoder to produce a 4./5. sound upmix. Sadly, no optical connection can be made between your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 and your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card without the installation of the X-Fi I/O Dri've or X-Fi I/O Console at, of course, additional expense. From my standpoint, the X-Fi I/O Dri've is a good value given the number of external inputs and outputs in offers. Again, it's a matter of what your personal connection requirements are and budget. Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme Music prob

I have Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme Music and i'm wondering how can I adjust the settings so I stop hearing myself in the microphone.
Please answer me, thanks a lot!
    BladeCris

It has when you are in "Audio Creation" mode and set speakers to 5.1 (or 7.1 if you use tripple plugs). You can route any input monitoring and stereo output to any output jacks, and even duplicate it to several jacks. Depending on your audio software you should also be able to route specific tracks to specific outputs (while in the creative console you define what plugs the output channels are send to).
