Xtreme Music w/IO Drive - Windows 7 X64 - Noise

/? Hello all, Ive been trying to research this issue looks like there is ALOT of resources, just thought I would see if there were any new takes on the issue with Distorted/Crackling/popping issue.
My system- XPS 70 Bios .4.
??? 4 gigs Ram
??? Nvidia 275GTX
???Windows 7 x64
??? Xtreme Music XFi w/ IO dri've bay
I read a post about Adjusting the ram to under 4G to 3999, I ?mainly wanted to see of there were any 'user' Drivers, or if someone can send me a?link that fixes the issue. ?
I am using the Sigmatel Audio driver perfectly at the moment, Problem is I NEED a Midi in/out for recording for various VST plug-ins on my recording software, from the XFi card. Sorry if this is like beating a dead horse, but it is truely frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

This response is not accurate and pretty poor troubleshooting if you ask me!  Just because it fails in another Windows 7 machine doesn't point to the HDD.  So I tested on 3 x Windows 7 machines and all fail to see my external HDD partition's
saying they are RAW yet Windows XP works fine and sees all my files??  Smells to me like a Windows 7 issue?

  • Oracle ODBC Driver (Windows 2003 x64 Server)

    Hi all
I have some trouble with this ODBC Driver ...
I have installed Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 with the ODBC Driver and SQLplus etc.
Now I have configured in the "Net Manager" some "Service Naming" as I did
on other servers before. Then I Test the connection in the "Net Manager" it
    seams to work fine.
When I now try to connect in SQL Plus the following error comes up:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    I did already do this:
    - Add "...\NETWORK\ADMIN" to the Path Variable of the server
    - sqlnet.ora looks like:
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES)
    - tnsnames.ora looks like:
    MyName.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = myDomain.net)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = DBSIDxx)
What do I have to do to get this working ???
    Thanks for any comments!
    Best regards

  • PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!! Transferring music Mac external drive- Windows

Hello my fellow community members. I have an external hard drive where I used to back up my MacBook's hard drive, and more importantly my iTunes music collection, a decade long culmination of my ever changing musical tastes. The MacBook finally gave out on me and now the only computer I have access to apart from my iPad is a PC running windows 7. So my question is, how can I transfer my iTunes folder off of my Macbook's external drive onto the Windows 7 PC? And also, would there possibly be some kind of USB extension I can get for the iPad that could possible allow me to access those files on the drive? but most importantly is transferring that entire folder onto the PC. If someone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. I would be devastated if I lost my collection. About 90% of my collection wasn't purchased on iTunes so iCloud is no help for the majority of it. So please, help a brother out as they say!!!!!!!

There is no way to connect any iOS device via USB to an external drive.
What format is the external drive in?  If it is not in NTFS format, the windows computer will not be able to read the data on it.

  • SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Windows 7 x64 (Temp Fix)

Here is my issue, I have a Dell XPS 70 with this card in it. I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed and everything works perfect except for sound. I get very little sound, and what I do get is HIGHLY distorted. Sometimes my sound card locks up and I have to end explorer.exe and restart it.
This happens in XP x64 and Vista x64 in ALL versions as well. The reason this happens is because I'm using 4 GB of RAM. I actually throttle down my memory to 3 GB using MS Config.
If anyone else having this issue can offer me some sort of advice so I can not only get my Gb of RAM back, I'd like to add more in the future.

YRe: I tried that yesterdayRe: SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Windows 7 x64 (Temp Fix)j Did your system actually see the whole 4 gigs? Some systems dont see all the ram to begin with and the memory hole fix or anything else do not work. I had an Asrock 939 board that could not see all four gigs of ram in Vista or Windows 7. I changed to a Gigabyte board and have had no problems since. Dell uses a lot of less-expensi've boards that may or may not have this incompatibility. You can check and see if they have issued a chipset driver update or even a bios update for your system. Well to give Creative their due even if they took their time there are new drivers out for the X-Fi Xtreme Music and Vista and they work just fine. Hello ! I am heber from argentina! bs as! federal discrict! Hey guys! you are soo cool! you help me a lot of times! but now i have to write to you becausa i dont get a solid solution to my problem. I search and see that there are some users with the same problem but i dont see a solid answer. The things that i do to try the fix the problem was clean and unninstall the drivers and soft with tools like driver sweeper etc and install the last driver but the result is the same. The only thing i found like a temporal solution when the problem happend its do the the assignement in the panel thx. I want to ask you if there is a solution, a permanent one...plz! becausa i am going to the thx panel like 30 times per day!!! i am going crazy! For more details i copy and edit a message from a user that have the same problem that i , read it plz : Ever since installing the latest drivers, 2.5. or whatever they are, I have sound and 5. support now using an X-Fi Xtreme music with Vista 64 bit (2GB), The card just randomly swaps channels on me. What I mean is, if I start from a fresh boot, I'll get all 5 speakers working in a 5. movie or video game or mp3. Shortly after though, it will swap all the sound to only the back channels and then only teh front channels, and sometimes only the center channel. Most of times it does in pairs , meaning that it wont be like front left and back right, always both back speakers and then both front speakers. Either way, it totally breaks the surround sound and it's rather annoying to hear the sound travel from front to back etc. Is there some way to fix this or anyone know the cause of this I'm about done with Creative and their crappy support for Vista. I might have to go back to on board 5. support if this keeps up. Well if you need something else! please let me know! and if you give me a hand i will be very happy ^^ . Thank you and a big hugh from argentina! PD: PLZ CREATIVE! YOUR SOUNDCARDS ARE THE BEST ! IN MY OPINION! BUT YOUR DRIVERS AND SUPPORT NEEDS MORE ATTENTION! PLZ!!! DO SOMETHING! FOR YOUR BEST!!!!!!

THIS IS A 3RD PARTY METHOD AND OF COURSE THERE IS NO SUPPORT !!!
BEFORE YOU PROCEED PLEASE UNISTALL EVERYTHING AND USE DRIVERSWEEPER OR DRIVERCLEANER TO CLEAN YOUR REGISTRY TOO !!!

  • DD/DTS decoder on X-Fi Xtreme Music and Vista x64

Running X-Fi Xtreme Music in Windows Vista Business 64 Bit, connected to 7. speakers (analog, no external decoder).
The most recent driver 2_8_0008 enabled the decoder tab in the soundblaster control panel. So I switched to internal decoder. Played a DVD in PowerDVD, setting output to S/PDIF. Everything like I did in Windows XP, but no sound in Vista. Help please!

The rest of the system is 8800GTX, Corsair 580w PSU, Intel Core 2 Duo 4300 @ .8GHz.
As I said I have tried pretty much everything I can think of, I bought the card brand new from eBuyer. Basically am i missing some files somewhere that I should delete before attempting a re-installation of the drivers?

    Thank you for advices !

Download the newest drivers for the card and extract them using WinZip, 7-zip, or WinRAR. Then you can manually browse to the driver folder with the .inf file inside and install the driver that way. Done it many times myself and it works well.

  • Satellite P750: Unable to install Bluetooth Stack driver on Windows 7 (x64)

    Hello.
    I own a *Satellite P750-02T* (Part no. *PSAY3A-02T001*).
In the order what I did:
    1) I formatted its HDD and reinstalled OS to *Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1*.
Then I downloaded *ONLY BIOS and the drivers* from [its Downloads page|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p750/psay3a-02t001/download?os=25] :
    2) I updated its BIOS to *v1.90* (the laptop came with v1.80)
    3) I installed all the drivers:
    - both LAN and WiFi
    - Intel Chipset (latest available)
    - all video drivers (Intel HD Graphics, NVIDIA Graphics, and Intel HDMI)
    - Card Reader
    - Realtek HD Audio (latest)
    - Synaptics Touchpad
    - USB3.0
    - IR
    - TV-Tuner
However, I'm *unable to install the Bluetooth driver (v8.00.06(T)* )...
When I run setup from the [above-mentioned page|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p750/psay3a-02t001/download?os=25] it partially detects *'Bluetooth USB Controller-10 from TOSHIBA'* (USB\VID_0930&PID_0215&REV_001)
and then installation simply freezes displaying +'Installing the Bluetooth Driver. Please wait+.' and stays like that forever...
I also tried downloading a driver from [another location|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download-toshiba] for TOSHIBA notebooks - v8.00.02(T):
and followed installation instructions displayed under 'Details'
but there was the same outcome - the setup simply freezes...
Installing Hotfix (*KB978258*) recommended there didn't work either - the message '+The update is not applicable to your computer+' pops up.
And I understand why - this Hotfix is [already included|http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/B/A/EBA55FE2-373A-4351-9346-6D762B79AA69/Updates%20in%20Win7%20and%20WS08R2%20SP1.xls] into Service Pack 1 for MS Windows 7.
I spent hours searching on the Internet for a solution. Although there were some similar cases none of the recommendations actually worked. I tried installing:
    - WiFi driver before installing Bluetooth (someone suggested that those two are the parts of the same card);
    - resuming installation in Safe Mode;
    - *Toshiba Value Added Package* hoping those tools somehow will kick in.
    Nothing worked...
It's interesting that when for the sake of experiment I tried to run installation for my generic Bluetooth adapter (using the driver [for non-TOSHIBA notebooks|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download]) then everything run smoothly!
*Using Bluetooth connection on this laptop is very crucial for me.*
I hope I shall not have to return this wonderful notebook as I know TOSHIBA is one of the best manufactures and am sure there is a solution to this problem.
    Thank you very much.
    Evgeny.

For FN functionality you must install Toshba Value added package. Toshiba flash cards utility is part of this package.
I dont know if P750 has WLAN switch but before you start BT installation be sure WLAN LED is ON.

  • LaserJet 1020 Windows 7 x64 driver not working!

Hello. I have problem. I have recently installed Windows 7 x64, and when I tried to install driver for my LaserJet 1020 from this site, an error appeared.
First, when I launched the driver installer, I agreed with license agreement and proceeded. Than, loading bar appeared, it came to 3 division sticks in it and text above was like "Preinstalling the driver files". Then, suddenly, for a split-second "Copying files to the hard drive." text appeared, than again "Preinstalling the driver...", and it appeared again for less than a second, and again, and again... Than, after a few times, it just crushed, with Windows message "Printer Software Installer" is not working".
And one more: in Program Files -> HP folder there are lots of driver files (which seem not to be working) and another HP folder with same file and HP folder in it... Recursion of some kind, I think.
So, what should I do? I can't use my printer for a long time because of this driver!
I'm haven't spoken English for a while, so, if I explained something strange, ask, I'll try to explain better =)
    This question was solved.

  • Problem installing Laserjet 4050 in Windows 7 x64, No driver in Universal Print Driver v5.0.3

I have just installed Windows 7 64Bit operating system.  I have be successful in installing several other more recent HP printers in the office.  However, my main "workhorse" printer is a HP Laserjet 4050 and I have downloaded the Universal Printer Driver v5.0.3 for Windows x64 - PCL 5 and PCL 6, and in both cases it does not find a suitable driver. The HP download site states these Universal Drivers will work, but I cannot get it to install.
Is there a driver that will work on the 4050 in Windows 7 X64?  Thanks everyone.

You're probably getting the "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver" error if you're trying to add the driver while adding a printer that is shared over the network. You see, HP's Universal Printer Driver (UPD) doesn't contain the PnpIDs of every printers it supports, so when you specify HP's UPD as the drivers for the network printer, if Windows can't find a match for the printer's PnpID it spits out the driver isn't compatible.
The way to overcome this is to install a "generic" printer locally, using HP's UP driver, and change the port afterwards to point to the shared printer. So, first, add a local printer (that will be using the LPT1 port - make sure no printer is attached!), and click on "Have disk(s)" to browse to and select HP's UPD. Going through the remaining steps should install a locally-attached printer named something like "HP Universal Printing PCL 5" (or "[..] PCL 6"). You'll then go in the new printer's properties, on the "Ports" tab, and click on "Add Port...". If you're installing a shared printer, you'll select "Local Port", click on "New Port..." and specify the path to the printer (e.g. \\myserver\hplaserj) as the port name. Those steps should do the trick.
Last thing: beware, though, as HP's UPD PCL 6 might not be compatible (anymore) with your LaserJet 4050, as they use a PCL XL class number/revision (class 2.1; sort of a version number of the protocol) that is higher than what your printer's firmware might support for PCL6 (should be class 2.0) I know the latest versions of HP's UPD PCL 6 doesn't work with our LJ 4000 & 4050 printers, so you might have to use the PCL5e driver for those 64-bit workstations.

  • I cannot install windows 7 x64 with AMD/ASUS RAID driver

Trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on an ASUS M5A97 mobo with AMD SB850 RAID, two WD 750GB drives configured as RAID 0. No drives are recognized by W7 install, so I choose Load Drivers. I put the drivers on a USB stick. Install finds the drivers there,
starts loading them, then comes back with "Installing an unsigned 64 bit driver is not supported and may result in an unstable Windows installation." I downloaded the latest drivers from ASUS website which are WHQL certified (as are the one's on the motherboard
disk). I saw other posts that recommend clicking Repair instead of Install, but I don't see where that option is. All I am given as options are Upgrade or Install. Choosing Upgrade tells me to boot Windows first. But this is a brand new install so...
I tried pressing F8 as setup was booting and chose "Disable Signed Driver Requirement" but that had no effect at all. If I turn off the RAID W7 sees both disks and happily installs. I see related posts going back to 2009; surely someone has
    a solution for this issue?
    Da Bomb

    Hi guys,
I have been struggling with the same issue.
    Win7 x64. Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 Mobo with Intel core i7-3930K at 3.20 GHz
Marvell 88SE9172 SATA RAID controller with two Hitachi 500 GB spinning disks configured as RAID1
Windows would get to the point of asking for a mass storage drive. It would not see the RAID I had created.
Tried every driver I could find. Tried drivers from the "Station Drivers" website. Tried Marvell drivers for the same chip from the ASUS website. No luck. Tried loading from CD as well as USB flash drive. Always the same result...  Windows would find
the drivers appropriate for the hardware found, I would select the RAID version, and after a few seconds, would report that the drivers were unsigned, and the installation was not supported for 64-bit drivers. Clicking OK would take me back to the load drivers
display with no new drives listed in the available drives window.
I tried hitting F8 during startup, and selected the "allow install of unsigned drivers option". That didn't do ANYTHING. Still the same error.
Someone suggested putting the drivers in the root directory. That didn't work.  I also disabled all other drives except one CD rom and a USB drive and made sure that my RAID array was the first drive in the boot list.
Tried doing a windows repair, as someone else suggested. (This is an option that is available on the install disk I am using. It's enabled as part of EMS (emergency management services) in setup. Anyway, this was reported to be a workaround
to the signed driver issue. It would allow me to browse to the individual files, but no matter which one I selected, the response was "cannot find hardware appropriate to the driver selected" or some such nonesense. So I gave up on that.
Doing the install with the controller in IDE mode with just one drive connected, would result is Windows installing without a hitch. The problem was clearly when I presented 64-bit windows with a controller in RAID mode.
Long story less long, here's what worked for me....
Out of desperation, I began trying other subfolders in the driver lists. The Gigabyte manual indicated that the AMD64 subfolder was the correct one for the Marvell controller, when using RAID mode with 64-bit Windows. After trying every subfolder of
every driver I could find, the driver in the i386 folder actually worked. It initially came back with the same error about unsigned drivers, but after clicking OK, my RAID drive showed up in the list. I have been able to partition and format
the drive from within Windows setup, and am continuing with the install now. Hopefully won't be any problems booting from the drive post install, but so far it looks good, and I'm relieved that I was able to get it this far.
The whole process has been one of the most frustrating computing experiences I've ever had. This is what it was like back in the 90's when building PCs from scratch.  I'm amazed that in this day and age the process is still so poorly documented
and filled with potholes, traps and caveats. Shame on the entire PC industry for allowing this to continue. I'm not asking that they jump in and try to automate it and do all the thinking for me (their solution for everything lately)...all I'm asking for it
    clear, concise and accurate INFORMATION.
With the right information, and software that provides accurate feedback, this would all be easy...and even fun.
Hope this helps someone faced with the same problem.

  • Need to export windows 7 x64 builtin printer driver to a x86 print server

     Hi,
We're planning our migration to windows 7 x64. But our environment doesn't have a x64 server neither a Server 2008; we only have x86 server 2003.
We are having trouble with printer Konica Minolta Bizhub 161f. I spoke with Konica support, they advised me they do not have a x64 driver for this model yet. The tech told me i can use the
HP LaserJet Family PCL5 driver built-in windows 7. I connected the network printer and selected the built-in driver from the list. So far this works as a charm.
Here's my concern, in order to upload x64 drivers to a 32bit server, i need to first to connect the printer from the print server to my x64 computer. But when i try this, i don't have the
prompt to select a driver from win7 built-in drivers. When i choose connect to... it asks me to locate a INF file on my computer. I don't have the INF file since its built-in windows. I tried to look within Windows's file system, under "Windows\INF\" but i
    couldn't find what i need.
    1. How can i export or find a built-in driver file within windows 7?
2.Is there is a better way to upload x64 drivers to a 32bit Server 2003?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Benoit

    Hi Benoit,
    Thanks for the post.
Here is how we find the built-in driver file within Windows 7:
    1. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows X64\Drivers\Version-3\{Printer Driver Name}, in the right panel, check the value of "InfPath". Now we will get the specific path of INF file.
    2. On a x32 Win2k3 server
    Click on Start, Control Panel
    Double click on Printers
    Press the ALT button
    or
Click on Organize, Layout, Menu Bar
Click on File, Run as administrator, Server Properties...
    Click on the Drivers tab
    Click on Add...
    Click on Next
Uncheck the 'x86 Type 3 - User Mode'
Check the 'x64 Type 3 - User Mode'
    Click on Have Disk...
Click on Browse... (to the x64 Win7 machine)
    \\X64Win7\c$\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\prn*.inf_{GUID}
    For example:
    \\X64Win7\c$\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\prnhp001.inf_5fecfc5e\prnhp001.inf
    Click on Open
    Click on Ok
    Under "Printers"
Select the print driver that you want to install
    Click on Next
    Click on Finish
Now you should be able to see the x64 print drivers installed under the "Processor" column.
    Click on Close
In this case, we need to pay attention to the match of INF file name. As the Konica Minolta Bizhub 161f 32-bit printer driver has been installed on Windows Server 2003, but you try to install HP LaserJet Family PCL5 64-bit printer driver. The two INF files
will not be the same, which causes the x64 driver can be instaled as an additional driver. So we need to change the INF file name to match the 32-bit one. I cannot guarantee that the method can totally work on this case as it may involve some custom settings
from printer manufacturer. If needed, I suggest you contact Konica Support when you go through it.
    Hope this helps.
