XtremeMusic card being found as an XtremeGamer card.. W

I bought the X-fi XtremeMusic card Product on box is listed as SB0460Product on actual sound is listed as the same, SB0460.However, when I try to install the installtion CD it tellsme I have an ExtremeGame card.Also the auto update said the same thing before I even installed the software.So what gives? Why is my Music card, which had better features, showing up as the Gamer card?AMD 64 4000+Windows XP x64 Professional with all updates.X-fi XtremeMusic SB04602 Gigs of DDRAMAsus A8n-sli Deluxe Motherboard with onboard sound turned off in Bios.Only sound drivers installed are the ones that came in the XtremeMusic box.Everything on the box picture matches the actual card EXCEPT on my card there a heatsinkove the actual chip. I would expect the software driver to atleast know?the card's name... I mean, this is one?of?the very basic stuff a driver should do, now think about?the complicated parts of the code,?where functionallity comes into place. No Folders being found by Itunes

Hi
Have just upgraded my Itunes to V 9.2.1.5 - Now none of my files are being found and displayed in Itunes. I have changed the location using Edit/Preferences to point to the location of my old Itunes folder. These folders are fine - they are not empty but nothing shows up in Itunes??
Itunes behaved as if it was a brand new instal and not an upgrade when I brought it up the first time. I am worried that it talks about Itunes Media when my folder is called Itunes Music.
Any help would be appreciated??

Images and .properties(bunldes) files are not being found from my JSPs

Hi,
I have created .ear file by using ANT Application. And deployed into Oracle9iAS(OC4J). Here problem is that images and .properties(internationalization bundles)files are not found from JSPs.
Here is my directory structure.
public_html--->locale -->BusinessEntity -->businessentity_en_US.properties
--->enterprise -->images -->knowldege.jpg
--->BusinessEntity-->BEAdd.jsp
in my jsp bundle(.properties)file is accessed like this:-
<i18n:bundle baseName="/locale/-->BusinessEntity/businessentity" id="businessentity" locale="<%= locale %>" />
in my jsp images accessed like this:-
src="/enterprise/images/knowldege.jpg".
In my working environment, without creating .ear file, images and .properties files are being found my JSPs. But if i create .ear file and after deploy, images and .properties files are not being found my JSPs.
please let me know where i might did wrong

WD Mybook not being found

Hi,
Anybody have any ideas why the WD mybook using firewire or usb is not being found by the iMac?? It had been working fine until a week ago and it will work in a windows enviroment. Any ideas woud be great Thanks.

The format maybe in NTFS (windows), as far as I know macs cant read that, see if Mac OS X can find it by going Macintosh HD > Utilities > Disk Utility or (Spotlight > Disk Utility) and see if you can see it there with your iMac hard disk, if it is unplug it and backup everything on your PC and wipe the external drive, then plug back in your iMac and then go to Macintosh HD > Utilities > Disk Utility or (Spotlight > Disk Utility) and format the external HD in FAT or FAT32 when done unplug and take back to windows pc and copy data back to drive. Try that and post your results

Classes in web-inf/lib not being found.

I'm having problems with a servlet app in which jar files placed in the web-inf/lib of the application are not found at runtime.
If I put them in J2ee\home\lib they are found OK.
This application has previously deployed and worked correctly, then I added another servlet and redeployed, and classes that were previously found OK stopped being found.
On checking the server all the directories look correct.
What could be causing this and how can I make my web applications deploy reliably?
OC4J version is 9.0.3.0.0.

Have you tried with the production version of OC4J 9.0.2 ? It should work. Please download the production version of OC4J 9.0.2 and give a try.

SATA HDD BEING FOUND AS SLAVE ONLY?

Hello all! My new Maxtor SATA drive is currently being found on my new Neo2-LS motherboard as a slave drive! Why is this? No matter what I do, it is either being found as a slave drive. Or if I change the IDE options, not at all. It is plugged into the SATA-1 slot. The only other drive I have hooked up to this brand new system (no OS yet) is a CD-RW drive on the IDE2 (white slot) as secondary master. Any advice? It's driving me NUTS!
How can I finally make my SATA HDD the primary master? Any reply would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, so I went to BIOS and went to ON-CHIP IDE SETTINGS (what I take it you mean by "ide settings"). Here are my settings (that aren't greyed out by default):
ATA CONFIG: P-ATA + S-ATA
COMBINED MODE: S-ATA 1ST CHANNEL
S-ATA PORTS DEF: P0-SLAVE/P1-MASTER
Now, I see that the S-ATA PORT DEFINITION has the P0 at SLAVE but when I put it the other way, IT DISAPPEARS. No matter what, even if I take OUT the CD-RW drive, and I change around the ON-CHIP IDE SETTINGS, I can finally make the drive a master, BUT ONLY ON THE SECONDARY SETTING!
No matter what I do, it seems as though something keeps pushing the S-ATA HDD to be either PRIMARY SLAVE when it's supposed to be PRIMARY MASTER or pushes it to the SECONDARY MASTER when it's supposed to be PRIMARY MASTER. Someone please help! I would very much appreciate it! Thanks!

Win7/X-Fi XtremeMusic Card ONLY SPDIF options in Sound no analog

Hi All,
Here is my issue. Recently I had a Western Digital HD crash on me...
I rebuilt the box with new seagate dri've and Windows 7 again (same RC as before)
I installed Win7, no problem. started installing the required drivers for my hardware.
(Before when I did have sound on my Win7 Installation, I upgraded from?XP 32 bit to Win7 64?because of lack of time)
When I finally start installing the Creative driver, This is the driver -->?[url="#">Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series driver 2.8.003 [/url]and also tried XFXA_W7DRVBETA_US__04_0090
however after rebooting i could only see SPDIF Out Device in my Device Manager. I removed the driver completely and also removed the device from the Device Manager then rescanned for hardware changes so it would detect it again.
Windows was able to to detect the device with no problems.
Windows then named the device Creative SB X-Fi and no driver was installed. (makes sense, it knows what type of device it is now) however, when re-installing the driver I had the same result. So I once again removed the device and driver. Then used the Autoupdate feature Creative provides and it found a completely different driver version for my card, so I decided to try it. the autoupdate downloaded and installed? the same version yet again and of course with the same results.
I also removed driver and device as well and physically moved the card?to another PCI slot still same results.
So basically, the only thing that's changed in my config of the box, is new HD, and move of card from one PCI slot to another.
Previous setup was, OS was upgraded from XP 32Bit to Win7 64bit, (all worked fine). After clean install, nothing.. Driver will not recogonize analog connection to speakers. Only SPIDIF connection shows in Playback Tab, no Analog at all.
no Recording, Sounds?options available in sound properties
Is there another driver I can try to get the analog to work? Do you have any idea why this is happening, and what the fix for this is? Perhaps I missed?a post on this within these forums, if so could you point me to the solution?
This is a real pain and I have no sound whatsoever.

DWell, I've had the same problem for more than two years. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers more than 20 times. I've tried reinstalling Windows 7 x64. I even bought a hole new system, but the problem remains in Windows 7 x64 and windows Vista x64.
I gave creative 300 dollars for this card, and their support can' solve the problem. Thank you for pissing in my face! I will never, NEVER buy creative again!

X-Fi Xtrememusic card malfunctioni

Ok, so I got this card to install originally, no problem. Worked for about a week, pristine. I bought it from amazon.com about a month ago now, and since I threw the packaging away, they will not accept a return, which, I think, is pretty **bleep** shady on their end, but whatever, it's policy.
So, one day, my computer doesn't boot up. I turn it on, and nothing happens. Something tells me, TAKE THE X-FI OUT!. I take it out, and it boots up fine, then BAM! blue screen.... At the time, I had an MSI KM4M-V. If you don't remember what that is, it's one of the first Socket A boards with SATA. It's also a mini board, and I'm not exactly sure the bios it used.

Now, everything crashed on it, except my PCI cards. The hard dri've = toast, the mobo = done, the processor = fried, and the PSU was shot. The RAM survi'ved, the GFX card survi'ved, Capture card, and Wireless card all survi'ved. So, sounds like whatever happened is the probable cause of the X-Fi not working now. BUT... when I first got the card, the computer wouldn't boot up with it. I tinkered with the PCI slots, and got it to boot up. Now the same thing happens, and I get a BSOD, AFTER I've installed it and used it.
I now installed it on a friend's computer, who's using the same card, and it didn't recognize that there was a media device at all. I installed it on my new computer that I just finished building, and it detected almost 00 multimedia cards. The drivers installed fine, BUT, they didn't do anything. I rebooted, and it still had that same 00 multimedia cards. Not to mention, it disabled the rest of my PCI cards, and (which I find to be very amusing, and confusing), my PCI-E GFX card. I didn't see anything, so I plugged the monitor into the mobo GFX card, and it worked fine.
Any ideas at all?

2. If the CPU was fried, how did you get the computer to eventually boot up again? Getting a BSOD doesn't mean the CPU (or anything besides the card) is fried. I've never heard of a sound card recking havoc on an entire system.

2. the blue screen happened, then i restarted, and nothing worked. i ctrl+alt+del and nothing worked. I ohm tested the CPU and it came up at zero... which is really weird. the PSU wouldn't turn a different machine on. the mobo, i never actually tested out. the hard dri've, i tried putting it into an external enclosure, and it wouldn't register it... however, the second hard dri've that i had in the machine picked up fine on the enclosure.
3. i put in an RMA request, but i believe that the "featured merchant" through amazon sent me an OEM. I don't know if Creative will support that.
The memory i'm using on the ds3 is G.SKILL 2GB (2 x GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800. It works fine. I just happened to put it into this computer, and the bios read it as being several MM cards.
The card came with a jumper, and those who i've talked to said there shouldn't be a jumper on it. It was on the extension pins (that you connect the front panel to). I have no idea where this jumper should be.

Get Sound From Rear Speakers with X-Fi XtremeMusic card

Have the SB X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard combined with the Digital I/O Module so i can get digital sound through my 6. Sony Amp. I have the Digital I/O module connected to my amp via a Coaxial cable. I have set the speaker set up to 6., and have run the channel test in the Creative Console Launcher. Now heres the problem im having, i get the correct sounds coming from the front left, center, and right speakers, but when it tests the rear left speaker, the sound comes from the front left instead on the rear left, for the center rear the sound comes from the front center, and for the right rear the sound comes from the front right speaker. Can someone tell me how i get the correct sound come from the rear speakers please?

The Xbox encodes the sound on the fly to form a DD stream. No PC game encodes DD by itself, even when the game is DD certified it needs a soundcard capable of encoding it, like the soundstorm on the nforce2. If your receiver supports analog inputs use them, the DD compression would probably degrade the sound at least to the same degree than an analog connection.

The FIX for FireWire Devices not being found.

If you have FireWire devices connected to your iMac that are no longer being recognized, this post is for you.
1. Power off your iMac
2. Unplug all USB and Firewire cables from the iMac.
3. Unplug the iMac from the main power.
4. Wait 4 minutes
5. Reconnect and power on.
6. Devices will be found as you'd normally expect.
Somehow, four minutes without any kind of power resets the Firewire interface so that it will work again.

1. Power off your iMac
2. Unplug all USB and Firewire cables from the iMac.
3. Unplug the iMac from the main power.
4. Wait 4 minutes
5. Reconnect and power on.
6. Devices will be found as you'd normally expect.
On step five, you say 'reconnect and power on'. Does this mean I should turn on my external device and connect before I turn the iMac on?
As for my ports being blown, I don't think that's the problem for me. My iPod easily mounts on firewire. And this device mounts on my other machines that use 10.3 panther.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to hyjack this topic, it sounds like you've got a good method and I want to utilize it properly!

Packages not being found (in NetBeans)

I recently started using NetBeans and it doesn't find certain packages. For example, I installed Jogl (https://jogl.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=6901&expandFolder=6901&folderID=6750) into a packages folder that I created (d:\Java\Packages\Jogl\), imported Jogl's two .jar files into my NetBeans project's libraries list (so that they show up in my project manager) and yet when I try to use the classes contained in these jar files (or try to import the package associacted with them) they are not found.
This isn't found:
import javax.media.opengl;
When I hold my mouse over that line it reads "package javax.media does not exist." Yet I can see it and browse through it RIGHT THERE in my project libraries tab. What am I doing wrong???

External Display not being found

Hey i posted this under macbook display but no one really goes in there so can you guys help??
Hi recently i borrowed a friends official apple mini-dvi to video adapter to watch a movie with my macbook. He uses the cable with his iMac. I tried plugging it in, the screen flashes blue then nothing appears on the tv. no picture nothing. i tried restarting with it plugged in, restart without, putting it to sleep plugging it in then waking it and nothing works. so i thought maybe the cable is broken. so i go to my friend and we hook it up the same way i was with his iMac and it works so we unplug his and plug it in to mine and it still does not work. HELP???
