Y sister has asked me to help her set up iChatAV on her nre
My sister has asked me to help her setup iChatAV on her new iMac w/Leopard. I don't use either one so I need some help. As I understand it, she will either have to join .Mac @$99/year or get an AIM account. Since AIM is free, we'll probably go that route. Unfortunately, I heard that the last version of AIM for Macintosh (4.7) does not support AV, while the Windows version (6.5) does. Is this correct? If so, we'll have to go the $99/year .Mac route, but I don't think it is worth it.
Just to be clear. The ONLY thing you want from AIM is a Screen Name. You *DO NOT* install AOL's AIM client. iChat allows you to use an AIM screen name.
I use an AIM Screen Name, my Mom and my Brother use AIM Screen Names. I do text, audio, and video chats with my Mom and Brother via iChat.
iChat will also work with Jabber based instant messaging services, such as Google Talk (aka gTalk).
In addition iChat can do text chats with any other client on any other operating system as long as they are using the same same service that your Sister is using (AIM, .mac, Jabber).

I have an iPad and my sister has a Mac. I'd like to buy an app for her from my Apple ID to her Apple ID but can't seem to do it. Any help please!!!!
HI Friend,
I think Gift Cards found in iTunes can help you. You can give her a Gift Card as the same value as the app and then she can buy by herself.
PS.: I never made it before, so please have a look about this in iTunes for further information before the purchasing.
Hope it will be helpful -
I have an iPhone 4 and plugged it into itunes on my computer for the first time. Only to discover my sister has obviously plugged hers into my itunes account and now I have lost all my photos and numbers. Please help me!!
It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it. -
If we bought a mac with OS X 10.6.6 and my sister has a mac with OS X 10.5.8, can we use the install DVD that came with the newer one to put OS X 10.6.6 on hers? Would it work? Does it erase everything? Is that even legal?
Thank you for any help!It won't work.

My daughter has cracked the screen on her iphone 5c. Someone knocked into her whilst she was holding it. Will Apple replace it and at what cost. Also have tried contacting apple via the website however they ask for the serial number which I cannot access. Have tried connecting to iTunes and it asks for the phone to be unlocked.
Helps to say, this is a WW forum
A few Apple retail Stores in UK replace the screen call those nearest to check if they can I think price is c £99
If not the Out of warranty exchange price is £209 over the counter
If iTunes has ever been used to sync then the the serial # will be imbedded

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

What is the best way to remotely access my sister in laws Mac who lives in another city to help her with her computer problems? The best way? Get her to bring it to you, especially if she makes good cakes.
Apples Back to my Mac isn't really suitable for this - it is designed for a single person who wants their Apple ID on the system. It would mean she would have to share hers with you & you would also have to setup her Apple ID on your Mac - it is messy & causes trouble with iCloud, iTunes etc.
You can try Messages if she is able to begin a session with you, see the 'invite to share screen' in the menus, weirdly you need to use a service that isn't from Apple.
Messages (Mavericks): Share your screen
It may be better if you to setup LogMeIn or GoToMyPC. They should 'dial out' & maintain a constant connection so you can login whenever the Mac is powered up. It won't, require a human to initiate the process at the other end, just be aware that the router may cause issues depending on what is configured, you may need settings to enable automatic port forwarding - it really depend on which option you choose. -

My daughter has forgotten the answers to her security questions..How do we re-set this as it won't allow her to buy songs if she doesn't answer the security questions
The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail

2. Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contact Apple support.
3. Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions.

My iPad 2 screen has greenish, pinkish streaks all over. I have hard started and restored but no change. What should I do? It's still under warranty. Can anyone help here?
Call apple or take it into an Apple store. What's wrong is beyond a user fix.

Can I get any help here??? please??? I brought an iPad 3 on e-bay and I can't used it because it keeps on asking me the old apple id where my iPad 3 was registered... serial number DL*******VD1
<Personal Information Edited by Host>You need to ask the previous owner to remove the activation lock. If you can't(and they don't do it on their own), the device is useless to you.

My sister has an iPod touch and I recently used my iCloud account for her iPod, but I see her things on my iPad 3rd gen and she sees my stuff on her iPod, how do I change this?
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's because you are using the same Apple ID. In this case, the easiest way is that your sister creates her Apple ID, and log in iCloud with her Apple ID, so you won't see his thing and she won't see your things
