Y410 Owners - Does your internal mic work?

Would like to hear from Y410 owners whose internal microphone works.
Are you Vista or XP and what program(s) does it work on?
Would really appreciate it and thanks for all replies.

Phil_L thanks for taking the time.
Wish I could paste screen shots, but believe my settings agree with yours. Do not have "mixer tab", but do have all the rest, including most importantly all the settings.
Was (am still) hoping someone with Y410 internal mic working with Vista & Windows Recorder might respond because trying to figure out if my problem a factory defect or conflict with software: Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro, OmniPage Pro 15.0, or Office 2K with Word 2002 (XP). They all run as XP SP2 compatible with no problems. Although Acro 7.0 causes Vista to stop Aero and restart automatically after exit from Acro 7.0.
One symptom which might be of interest to gurus is that when I rub my finger across the hole underneath is said to be lurking the internal mic, the gain bars in the Control Panel/Hardware & Sound/Sound/Manage Audio Devices/Recording - Microphone to light up. It seems as though Windows Recorder, Audacity etc just don't "activate" the internal mic.
My regards, SanKey1

  • WRT610N owners, does your QOS page work?

Hi guys, I'm on my third WRT610N today.  Exchanged twice.  Why?  After I enter a few options on the QOS page (Linksys PAP2, a desktop, a wi-fi desktop, a Macbook Air, PSP etc.) and save settings, it seems to do that, and shows the button to continue.  After I continue, the QOS settings *seem* to be saved, but the QOS page no longer shows them under the summary, and seems to be missing half the buttons.  For example, you can select MAC address from the dropdown menu, but there's no box to put it in.  I tried on default and latest firmware, same thing.  Three different routers, same thing.  Do all of you have this problem?

I have a WRT610N and I added 2 mac addresses to my QoS page to give this a test and after hitting appy and save settings, everything comes back looking normally to me.  It appears that I still see the whole page as well as when I click mac address in the drop down box, I can see the text box to add other MAC addresses...  Not sure if this helps any, but it doesn't appear that I have the same problem you are experiencing.  I have the latest firmware and am accessing the configuration screens using IE 8.  Have you tried using other browsers to access the config screens?  Maybe it is a browser issue???

  • Whys doesn't iMac internal mic work with FaceTime?

Anyone else having this problem? Intel iMac running Lion 10.7.2, The system preferences are set to 'internal microphone' and the FaceTime Video settings are set to 'internal microphone'. The problem is that the mic is not picking up so the perso at the other end cannot hear a word that's being said. We have tried it here at home between the iMac in question and our other iMac. It's only a problem on the one iMac. What's even stranger is that the mic is fine when we use Skype.
    Any ideas???

    No problem.
If the troubleshooting webpage does not help, and Gino's suggestion does not either, then you may like to contact AppleCare, although they may not know more than we do!
In the mean time, try resetting your PRAM and SMC. Links with details on how to do this are below.

  • Presario C751NR Microphone jack not detected, internal Mic works OK

I made sure that I have the most current Conexant audio driver installed: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-64867-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us〈=en&os=2093&product=3646600 When I plug a microphone into the microphone jack on the front, the driver does not detect the change and maintains a connection to the microphone built in to the display lid. Going in to the control panel and looking at the microphone's "Jack Information" indicator dot when an external microphone is plugged in shows it staying black. Does anyone have any ideas?  It has always been like that, but I would like to be able to use the microphone jack. System is running Vista Home Premium (32 Bit) with SP2 and all current system updates.

It's possible your premier pro is confusing it, does it work without that connected ?
Plantronics claim that device is OSX compatible and doesn't need any drivers (even though the mode is discontinued)

  • Does your microsoft word work on Lion

My Microsoft Word stop working when I installed Lion. Is there a fix or update that I need?

Office 2004 does not work (its PPC, and Lion does not support that). Office 2008 (personal experience) and 2011 (reports from others) do.

  • Audio-Master Stream grayed out no sound out or internal mic working

I've seen different variations of this problem, but, my sound just quit this week. I've checked all the settings, trashed the preferences, permissions etc. All I can think of. The internal built-in audio in and out show up as choices in the system preference, but no sound. Any suggestion are appreciated.

Thanks for responding, no there is no sound from the headphone jack either. It seems like the problem started with the last update installation. A couple of weeks before that I had changed out the memory for a 1g in the upper slot. Everything else working well and memory seems to be happy. Those are the only two things I can think of that have gone on with the system. Internal speakers show up as the choices in sys pref and it switches back and forth from internal to headphone promptly when you insert/remove plug. The tex instr sound card is showing up in the hardware description in about this mac. Most of this detail may be meaningless, but figured there might be a clue in there for someone more clued up than I am.
    Thanks

  • Does YOUR aluminum iMac work with Logic 8?

Hi, I have been facing Core Audio overloads with less than 5 tracks in Logic Pro 8 and have tried numerous suggestions. I have written ~6 songs even with the crashes and I want to something to give me a performance boost to see if Logic is worth it on an Imac or just a buggy trashpot. I recently of people with interfaces getting the same issue however.
I have a 2.4 ghz 24" aluminum imac with 4gigs RAM and am going to try adding these both: an Apogee Duet and an external dedicated FW800 drive in the next month.
For the dedicated audio FW800 drive I was considering a Lacie Quadra. Please come forward if you have an Aluminum Intel mac especially, due to all the firewire chipset discussion etc.
Can anyone who is very happy with their aluminum imac setup in Logic 8 please chime in? All responses are appreciated; So often we hear about problems on discussion boards, please share your smashing success story!
    Thanks,
    smooves

I have a 2.4 20" aluminum iMac running 50+ tracks (no freezing) with a few hundred plugins, with only 1 GB of RAM. I use a few external GLYPH Firewire drives. This system was actually a replacement from Apple for an iMac G5 that had the motherboard die 3 times in a 2 month time span. I'm very happy with it, its allowed me to get more work done. I don't understand why you're having so many overloads w/ only 5 tracks. I'd say up your buffer, but even for mixing I'm running at 256 on my buffer with 50 tracks or more and I'm fine. I've also never had Logic crash on me during recording or mixing. Only when using the score window. But since the update that hasn't happened.

i am using a black MacBook with Mac OS X 10.5.5

  • What kind of technology does the internal microphone use?

Does the internal mic use USB, Bluetooth, or analog technology. (Rosetta Stone voice recorder/analyzer is crashing app)

I am having the same problem with Rosetta Stone voice recorder/analyzer activity. RS told me to wait before going to the next window in the exercise but this did not help. I had the same experience with an older Mac laptop. I will follow up with Apple under warranty.

  • The T61 internal mic does not work when docked

The internal mic does not work when docked. However works fine when undocked.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I go this issue very recently. What I did to solve the problem was probably mentioned before somwehre over the web.
First of all, I degraded Skype from the latest version to skype 6.1.0.129. Then I went in Skype - Tools - Option - Advanced Settings - Automatic Updates and click "Turn off automatic updates" and Save. I closed (Quit Skype) Skype then.
I clicked on Start (in toolbar) and in search area typed Device Meneger. Then in Sound Video and game controlers, highlite and right click on mouse on IDT High Definition Audio Codec and press Unistall. This will unistall IDT drivers from the system. You must restart your computer.
Once you come back after reboot, you must go again to the Sound Video and game controlers and remove the rest part of your driver. After reboot go Sound Video and game controlers and click "Scan for hardware changes" then system find your IDT Sound Card again. Please install the latest driver (6.10.6367.0) and reboot. After reboot you should have mic working while on Skype.

  • CIT200 Internal mic does not work??

I am using the CIT200 under WIndows 7. It connects fine to Skype and drivers are installed OK. When I call, the internal mic does not work (phone's internal speaker is fine), but when I plug in a headset, the headset mic (and speaker) works just fine. Does this mean the internal mic is physically damaged, or is there anything I can do software vise to get it to work?

Hmmm, well never tried to make the CIT200 software on a Virtual PC, but you can give a try and check if that solves your problem or not.

  • HP Probook 4530s - internal mic does not work when on messenger or skype, webcam does?

    HI there,
I have an HP Probook 4530s. When I go on MSN messenger or Skpye, the internal webcam works, but the internal mic doesn't. I can't hear them speaking either. However when I tested my internal mic outside of these two places it works perfectly fine - problems?!
