Y50-70 Touch Built-In microphone doesn't work

Hi,I recently bought a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch and after couple of weeks I tried to skype and realized that the microphone doesn't work. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver and also I checked the microphone level in the mixer but non of them solved the problem. Can someone help me with this problem? How can I send my laptop to be physically checked?Thank you!

I have this problem as well. I installed the latest Realtek audio driver and that had no affect. Not sure what to do - everything is updated - SP3, bootcamp version...

I'm sure you have checked, but make sure your mute button on the keyboard is not on , also check that you haven't touched the space bar during a call as that mutes it.
Check your settings in Skype>Preferences, Audio/Video tab. Here's what mine look like:

  • Microphone doesn't work anymore

    Hi all,
I don't know what happened on both my Mac (iMac 24" Intel and Macbook Late 2009), but on both I cannot use anymore the microphone (integrated or built-in).
I tried using a standard 3.5 jack headset and a USB one and I'm 100% sure that all my headset were working because:
    In Windows they works;
They worked on both Mac since few days ago (I'm a trainer and I daily make lessons using Web-ex).
System preferences recognize the audio input (built-in and integrated), but it doesn't work (no activity on the bar, even if I remove the headset).
All software that needs a microphone doesn't work (Webex, Skype...).
I'm sure that there has been an update that compromised the correct functionality, as it is on 2 Mac.
Do you have any suggestion for me? I tested 2x 3.5 jack headset and 2x USB, I had the issue with 10.8.3 and I've it still with 10.8.4 (updated today).
I really don't know what to do!
    Thanks in advance!

I have an iMac, Intel Corre i5 running 10.8.5 and the built-in mic is not working.
I have checked System preferences and it is set to built-in mic and not muted. If I physically tap near the built-in mic, I see the sound level bounce. But speaking, even if right next to the mic, doesn't register. In Garage band when I try to record my voice, it only picks up the finger snaps but not my voice (snapping to show a rhythm to my choir).
    What is going on?

Just thought that I'd report that I've decided on my solution.
It seems that just making do with what I can find on the US store is the easiest and perhaps also the best way of going about it. All other methods mean trouble. I'm lucky that China hasn't outright blocked the US store, as they HAVE blocked iTunes music store in China already (something about a song about Tibet caused them to block the store entirely).
So yeah, just going to deal with it I guess. I should be grateful I'm getting anything at all, considering the country I'm in. Still, I just feel so ripped off sometimes when I pay for expensive devices and I can't even get much out of them do to my region. iPhones cost around $700 in China because there's no company like AT&T that you can just sign a contract with to get one, so you have to pay up-front for the phone, and get less features out of it in the end. Makes buying smart phones look like a waste of time and money sometimes, since you can't use the device to do what it was built to do due to censorship and not having any content for your region (though they do have a lot of Chinese apps that I can't use due to not knowing Chinese).

Microphone doesn't work for Creative Live! Cam Socialize HD AF HD Webcam (for Windows 7).
I have to use external microphone from Logitech now.
I send few emails to Customer Service. They answered once to check my Device Manager and disappeared after that. I'm really disappointed.
It looks like the drivers for Windows 7 are wrong.

    hey Killthebeeping,
if you have the USB Mic connected kindly remove it first then uninstall the audio drivers for your B510.
let windows install its generic driver.
once done plugin your usb mic and test it again.

  • I have updated with os X 10.10.2 and my built in microphone has stopped working. need immediate solution for this.

Currently I own 13.5" Macbook Air (mid 2012) with OS X 10.10.2 running on it. Ever since I upgraded to it, the built-in microphone has stopped working.
I made Facetime calls but my voice was not able to transfer/hear on the other side. Moreover i tried checking the "Sound Input levels" in the System Preferences and they all are perfect. When i speak the volume recognition bars does not show any movement or change, indicating no Input Volume.
Kindly look into this matter and take necessary steps to resolve this issue.

  • Frequently the earphone and microphone doesn't work and I have to turn off in order to work, it ocurr  whit skype and the ipod function, what I have to do?

Frecuently the earphone and the microphone doesn't work, specially with skype and the music (ipod), and I have torestart (turn off) my Ipad !.
    What I have to do?
Thanks in advance for your support.

Have you reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen? If that doesn't resolve this, you can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will not lose any data, but all device settings will have to be entered again.
If that doesn't fix it, your next step might be to backup then erase all content and settings or restore the iPad to factory settings. See how if goes if you reset all settings first.

How to reset my iPod touch thats disabled it doesn't work even charging

If the sleep/wake button doesn't work use the home button and if the home button doesn't work it's the other way around, however if both of them don't work charge it with your connector connected with your computer or wall socket and it will turn on. Hope this helps.

  • [SOLVED] HP420 and Built-in microphone don't work.

I have a trouble with my on-board microphone in my laptop (hp-420), it was working some months ago (with previous kernel) and I didn't use it for a while, after several upgrades now I tired to use it and it doesn't work. Second microphone, a jack, doesn't work either, and it's arch related, because I did some tests in windows (have dual boot) and both the built-in and jack work fine. So far I have tried testing alsa configurations, played with preferences and some other things I have read over the internet and in arch forums, but no luck at all. I may think it's kernel related but I'm not sure as I'm not an expert. Also sound works fine, it's only the built in microphone the one I can not get to work. I whish someone could help me or guide me.
So all the info I could gather about my machine and the sound

What is under the switches tab?
Oh -- By the way, that picture is over the size limit defined in the forum rules in tems of pixels, but the file size is okay.  I'll let it slide.  Watch the bumping as well.
If you want to post the switches tab, upload it to someplace like http://img3.imageshack.us/, copy the thumbnail (which has the link to the original)  back here, and you are golden.
I had a bear of a time getting the microphone working on my HP DV4, but it does work.  I'll look at the set up when I get home tonight [USA-PDT].
Sorry for the picture and the "bumping"... I have asked in irc in arch and alsa channels and no luck yet... one guy from alsa said I had to wait for the alsa-driver-1.0.24 package (currently I have alsa-driver-1.0.23) but it is weird because the microphone worked some months ago...
So here is what it is under the switches tab

  • Ipod touch 4th generation camera doesn't work after smashed screen replacement

I have an ipod touch 4th generation that i smashed to screen with a torch, i got the screen replaced however my camera shutter will NOT open at all, i can go into camera roll and everything BUT the shutter wont open and the slide to go from camera to video just blinks a few times. Ive tried everything from turning it off and on(note my off/top button doesn't work) I had problems with the camera before i had the screen replaced but now it doesn't work at all. And will resetting and/or restarting it through iTunes delete ANY of the conent i have on my Ipod?
Any help much appreciated as i can NOT afford to get it fixed at Apple!!
