Yahoo Account Verification fails - imap server settings?

I'm trying to connect my yahoo account and I I get this error:
Cannot Get Mail
The user name or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.
Any idea how I can fix this? I thought the setup was automatic. I don't see a place to set this stuff. Please help. Thanks!

Some of the steps below may help
1. Delete any Yahoo accounts off iPhone
2. Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings - Agree - iPhone Reboots
3. Now add your Yahoo account back into iPhone
*If it does not work proceed below.
-Repeat steps 1 and 2. And then for the Yahoo account change the password to a new password. All lowercase letters. And numbers if you want. Then confirm new password works by logging onto Webmail.
Now try adding account back into iPhone.
In very rare occasions I have read that restoring iPhone will sometimes allow an email account to be added again.

Yahoo Account Verification Failure

I got a new iPhone 3G today, and have bequeathed my original iPhone to my wife. I have gotten the old iPhone set up for her, but for whatever reason, whenever I try to set up her Yahoo email address on the phone I get the following message:
"Yahoo! account verification failed. The IMPA server "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "Incoming Mail Server" field."
As far as I can tell, my network connection is fine, and I have never seen any "Incoming Mail Server" field.
Help!

MobileMe account verification fails

When I set up a MobileMe mail account on my ipad with my existing appleID, the account requires verification...
To get the account verified I need to ask to send a verification mail on my iPad and reply to this mail. Unfortunately I do not receive such mail. When asking to send that verification mail, I do get a message on my iPad that a mail has been sent to "-". So, my email address does not seem to be known although it specifies it correctly as my AppleID. What am I doing wrong?

CDAUI2030 Invalid IMAP Server settings

Hi all,
I am following the "Cisco CAD installation Guide: Configuring Microsoft Exchange for Agent E-Mail"
and trying to set the Agent E-Mail Settings > Global Settings in Cisco Desktop Administrator
but it comes up with an error:
CDAUI2030 Invalid IMAP Server settings
Then i found that the Cisco website has mentioned that there is a bug for this error:

and i followed the workaround steps, but the error still exists

UCCX's Agent Email feature does not work AT ALL with any kind of
encryption on the IMAP and SMTP connectors. It's best to simply create
a new virtual connector with absolutely no TLS/SSL/encryption of any
kind and use that.
If you are unwilling or unable to do that or it still doesn't work
with a new virtual connector, post screen shots of the IMAP connector
and how it's configured in Exchange.

Gmail account verification failed error "pop.gmail.gom" is incorrect

I'm getting this errror message "gmail account verification failed error "pop.gmail.gom" is incorrect"
I checked password, username and pop setting at the gmail in my computer and e verything is fine. I can log on with my iphone via safari to gmail. I can't use the built - in mail system. I updated to 1.1.1 to see if this would help solve but it didn't.

If your password contains a mix of upper and lower case characters, I would recomend keeping an eye on the shift key as you enter your password. Sometimes it may seem to stick.
You will also get that error message if POP3 is not enabled with GMail online, or another machine is checking that account. Sometimes turning POP3 off, and then back on will help resolve it as well.

Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage, follow these troubleshooting steps.Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
Try a different Wi-Fi connection
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

TS4009 I keep getting message verification failed icloud server

I started getting a message today saying that verification has failed regarding the icloud server. My phone will not allow me to do a back-up to icloud. Even though I have an extrav10gb memory, it would not let me take photos. Inpurchased another 20 gb & it still says I do not have enough memory. What do I need to do? Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

It may help to remove old stored passwords so Thunderbird can't try to use them.

Trying to set up i-phone Yahoo account and get message "server unavailable"

Just activated i-phone 4 and having difficulty setting up Yahoo mail account. Keep getting error message "Yahoo server unavailable, please try again later".

IMAP (from gmail stopped) working few days ago but just on my PC (running Windows 7). I can still send email, but I can't receive emails on gmail and Thunderbird doesn't want to copy the message to Sent Mail folder after sending it. Thunderbird works just fine on my laptop and on my android phone on the same network, so it can't be due to my ISP or wrong pass or email coz they haven't been changed, I've checked, I logged in my gmail acc from Firefox without any issues.
My Thunderbird settings are:
For IMAP
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL:Yes
For SMTP
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL:
smtp.gmail.com
Use Authentication: Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
Port for SSL: 465
I've tried changing "imap.gmail.com" to "imap.googlemail.com" and I've tried to reduce the number of cached connections in my IMAP Server Settings dialog from default 5 to 1, but that didn't fix the problem.
I've also tried to disable my antivirus (Nod32) and winows firewall... but that didn't help either. If I switch to POP,... it works, but I want to use IMAP not POP.
...and I don't have 2 step verification.
I just keep getting the message:
"Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialog to reduce the number of cached connections."
I hope you can help me, because I have no idea what else I can try...

Can't hook up my yahoo account

Help--- I just got my iPod touch yesterday and it was great! My email was working fine... now i haven't changed any settings but now it says it can't connect to my yahoo account. So when i tried to reset it, it said that the account verification failed. It was working fine yesterday and i haven't changed any of the settings please help me

Fetching e-mail from yahoo account

My iPhone 4 will not fetch new emails for my yahoo account. I have the settings to push for the account but I still have to open my mail in order to get new emails. Any ideas why this is happening??

If you used the Yahoo account preset to create the account which creates the account as an IMAP account with push access for received messages and you have push enabled for the account, if new messages are not received/downloaded until you access the Mail app, that is fetching. Fetching can be done automatically or manually which is separate from push access for received messages.
Yahoo has had on and off again problems with this since day one 3 years ago which was an entirely new protocol for Yahoo at the time.
Try turning push access off for received messages and set Fetch to automatically check the account every 15 or 30 minutes to see if there is any change with an automatic fetch setting.

My yahoo account was hacked. I changed the password and now cannot send email from any apple device. I have deleted mail and reinstalled it and it still doesn't wok. I get " sending the message to server failed" help!

I am trying to backup my iPad to iCloud. I get:
Verification Failed. The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put your confidential information at risk.
I am logged onto the wifi at work and I can surf the Internet so the connection is OK.
How do I begin to debug this issue?

I had this issue for few months already! I have a @me.com mail address, theoretically should be compatible with iCloud, just for some reason, it's not working!!
The mail all work fine on my macbook and iPhone, just the ipad kept showing the error message, the "verification failed".
The internet is wi-fi and it all working fine.
Now here is the solution.
Make sure you got internet connected fine.
Go Setting --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars --> Add Account --> Other
--> Add Mail Address -->
in the description, it will auto showing "Me", don't change it!
Go "Next" -->
in the Incoming Mail Server
Host Name --> Type "imap.mail.me.com"
Then your user name and password
in the Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name --> Type "smtp.mail.me.com"
Then your user name and password
Then next and save it.
This should work, it works for me,

I can't receive mail from my verizon/yahoo account on my imac running snow leopard. I checked all settings with verizon but still have the problem

My mail application on my imac will not download mail from my verizon/yahoo account. I contacted verizon and confirmed my settings to be correct. I don't get any error messages, I can send mail but I can't retrieve it from V/Y. Connection doctor shows all connections with a green light.

Mail/Preferences/Accounts
Incoming Mail Server: imap.verzon.net
Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP): smtp.verizon.net:your email [email protected]
If that does not work, call Verizon for instructions.
