Yahoo bookmarks to ipad2?

How do I export my yahoo bookmarks to ipad2?

I would assume that you have to export the bookmarks to your desktop and them import them into the Safari browser and then sync the bookmarks from Safari within iTunes. This article explains how to export the bookmarks.
http://help.yahoo.com/tutorials/bk/bk/bk_manage4.html
The only bookmarks that you can sync to the iPad are Safari bookmarks - I think - so you will have to download Safari as well if you are not using it. It is available for Windows and for Mac.

When using Safari go to File>Import Bookmarks to import the bookmarks.
There may be an easier way, but this is the only way that I can think of.

  • When I try to open yahoo bookmarks (red button) on Firefox I get a "page not valid" or some otgher error message (works okay with Explorer.

I recently done an upgrade on my PC (can't remember what). since then I haven't been able to open or log in to my Yahoo bookmarks (red button on tool bar). I get a log in screen, but when I log in with my Yahoo ID and password, I get "This page expired" error message. I've gone the the help menu and reset my yahoo password, but it still won't let me log into yahoo bookmarks with Firefox. If i use Explorer, it works fine. I like Firefox, but I need to be able to access yahoo bookmarks.

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • I upgraded to Firefox 4 and now I can't use my yahoo toolbar, all my yahoo bookmarks are gone and I hate it! How can I get my stuff back?

First, I kept getting a notice that I should upgrade to Firefox 4. For a few days, I clicked on the link, and it said it was connecting to the server-all day long-until I clicked off of it. So, I went to the Mozilla website and downloaded the new version. My persona disappeared, my yahoo toolbar will not work, all my yahoo bookmarks disappeared and I can't get them back. Is there any way I can fix this! If not, I am going back to IE! This is stupid and frustrating!

Yea, they say they will have it done by '''MAY'''!
Guess I'll just have to turn my computer off for 2 months while I wait.
What other Add-ons don't work? It sure would have been nice to know BEFORE I updated.

  • I can't get into my yahoo bookmarks. I have spent time with AT&T and the conclusion they came to is that it may be a problem with Firefox and yahoo. Help please

I am using a HP Laptop NOT mobile device. Every time I try to go into my YAHOO bookmarks it asks me to sign in which I do to no avail. AT&T came to the conclusion it may be that Firefox and Yahoo are not working together. I just downloaded both the latest versions of Firefox and the yahoo toolbar again to no avail. Is there something with Firefox that is preventing me from getting into my yahoo bookmarks??

It's really up to you how often you want to clear history. If you have a large hard drive, Firefox may save history for a year or more...

  • We lost our yahoo bookmarks when updating to Firefox 8. How can we get them back?

we updated firefox for yahoo and we have lost our yahoo bookmarks. I can't find them anywhere under bookmarks.

    Tyler,
No, it isn't, otherwise I wouldn't have lost it all of a sudden. I knew the 27.0.1 update was coming, and thinking back now I think this is what happened:
I don't think it asked me about import, it just started the automatic import process (with compatibility check). This import process shows a dialogue on-screen, and I think when moving windows around I wasn't expecting that one to come up - as I did not initiate the update process and only very recently modified my preferences to automatically update instead of asking me first (I changed that back already).
So I guess what happened is that I accidentally cancelled the automatic import process.
So in that case my question is: Where can I find my pre-update profile?

  • Btmail.... yahoo bookmarks.... unable to access si...

I hope this posting is in the correct forum.  apologies if not.
Overnight on Tues/Wed 23/24 September I was 'converted to BTmail,  immediately  I noticed that my connection to my bookmarks through the yahoo toolbar had gone 'awol'.... on clicking on the red ribbon icon I am being presented with a 'Sign in to Yahoo' form.  This has never happened before and my bookmarks were available on Tuesday afternoon but not on Wednesday.  I have gone through yahoo's systems to find what they refer to as 'alternate ids' linked to my btinternet.com email address.
One of these I recognise.  I set it up over 10 years ago - the other is a combination of my forename and a 6 digit number (say peter123456) I have never set up this yahoo id and have never had any knowledge of it.  My theory is that when I moved to btbroadband a 'psuedo btyahoo login' was created so that access to yahoo tool bar and bookmarks was seamless when I accessed the internet.
I only started to use yahoo bookmarks when I converted to broadband in Feb 2006 - the fact that all my bookmarks are available on all computers I use has been a boon.  I have telephoned BT for help - they have failed to come back to me when they promised to (experience with BT tells me this is their 'ignore him and he'll go away customer care service) and of course I am being told that I have done something to cause this... not them!
I also contacted Yahoo .... who promptly told me to contact BT....
I knew that when I was converted to BTmail I would lose Draught emails, Calenders and 'email rules'.  I was never told that the 'link' to the yahoo bookmarks would disappear.  Obviously I could now start using IE Favorites but that is not what I require.
Hopefully someone can help and help  me get back into my bookmarks or fast-track me to someone from BT, BTyahoo or Yahoo who can.

Thank you for responding again Keith....  however...
    You state...
The bookmarks were part of the BT Yahoo home page, and not part of BT Yahoo mail, so were not covered by the email migration.
Yahoo mail customers still have the bookmarks on their Yahoo home page.
Yes they may have been part of the BT Yahoo home page - and I only started using them when I became a BT broadband customer for reasons already stated.  BT have now unlinked me, without warning, from these bookmarks overnight on Tues/Wed last week.
Its usually best to store your bookmarks locally, on your computer. All web browsers allow you to backup your bookmarks. I use the Firefox browser, and that has a backup facility.
Yes, but why should I think I should need to backup data held on a remote server... hindsight is a wonderful thing
The other option is to look at your web browser history, you should be able to revisit some recent pages, and bookmark them again.
I don't think this is really a viable option.... but thanks!
It looks like Yahoo have done away with bookmarks on their home page.
    https://toolbar.yahoo.com/?.intl=uk&.promo=bookmarks
This page simply tells me that bookmarks are only available from the icon on their toolbar... which is the way I had been using them.  And would continue to do so if someone from BT, BTYahoo, or Yahoo would let me know how I was being automatically signed in prior to Tuesday night when BT ceased to automatically sign me in using a user/password combination that I was never made aware of.
    Cheers

  • Yahoo bookmark menu comes up blank and cannot add any page.

All bookmarks previously added to the yahoo bookmark toolbar are gone. The bookmark shows only a blank and will not respond. How do I correct?

  • Have to refresh Yahoo bookmarks every time Firefox starts for it to open

Every time I start the 4.0 Firefox I have to refresh the Yahoo bookmarks several times for it to open completely for them to
    become usable

I dont use tabs and only use the Yahoo toolbar bookmarks(about 200)they dont show up in the Firefox or IE bookmarks. After starting Firefox from being offline
these dont open. From the pulldown button in the toolbar I go to tools>then refresh bookmarks sometimes several times for them to open all the way for normal use.It was'nt until the more recent updates this started happening.Another thing started happening at the same time in the Yahoo mail when trying to delete mail from the spam and trash folders when you select all>delete the cursor would go right to the to the OK button. Now I have to drag
it to the button.this only happens in Firefox in Yahoo mail.
    Thanks for your fast reply

  • How to copy Safari bookmarks to iPad2

I have a macbook running leopard (so no iCloud syncing), and I want to sync (or even copy) bookmarks from the macbook to my iPad 2.  When I sync, in iTunes, it does not give the option to sync bookmarks, it just says they will be synced via iCloud, which of course they are not. Please help.

    ok, i figured it out.
go to your ipad2 settings>icloud>bookmarks. turn bookmarks off. it will ask you if you want to delete. say yes. plug your ipad to your macbook. open up itunes. in devices, click on your ipad. go to info tab. scroll down to bookmarks. you should be able to choose 'sync bookmarks'. then choose 'apply'.
look at your ipad safari page. your bookmarks will be updated and synced with your macbook.

  • Switched from Safari to Firefox so I could read Yahoo mail--how do I find all my Yahoo bookmarks?

Yahoo! Mail stopped working w/ Safari, so I just installed Firefox. I'm trying to find the many BOOKMARKS that I saved, but I can only find them when I go back into Safari. Have they been moved to Firefox as well? If not, is there a way to move them, or will I just have to keep going back & forth? THANKS!!!

  • Current Location In Yahoo Bookmark

I was going to use Yahoo from the list of installed Bookmarks in my iPad and when the initial Yahoo screen came up it Apple told me that Yahoo asked to use my current location and I declined. The next screen was from Yahoo and it suggested that I provide my current location for a couple of reason related to weather and news but it had only one button with "OK" and no option to decline andI could not find a way to just back out of that screen to the main Safari screen. And when I hit the Home button and then reopened Safari there was the Yahoo screen and I was locked out until I finally hot the "OK" button. This isn't the way it should work, I should never be forced to provide my current location to any App., the App. may not function if I don't but I shouldn't have to be locked up  the way I was.
Anybody know what this is about??
    Andy

First of all, don't panic. Most search engines need your location to provide you with more relavant search results.
If you read it, you should understand the second message is just informational. It's just explains why it would be a good idea to allow Yahoo! to use your location. One you declined allowing access to your location, that's it until the next time you try to use Yahoo! Pressing the OK button, does nothing except make the notice go away.
