Yahoo! Buil Mail folder - How to auto-empty it

Like many other users of Apple Mail.app, I have my Yahoo mail account managed in Mail.app.
Yahoo's spam filter automatically puts some of the incoming messages into the Bulk Mail folder. That's fine with me. But, I am getting tired of emptying this Bulk Mail folder all the time.
Is there a way to have a Mail.app rule, or any other approach, to automatically delete any message in the Bulk Mail folder, then empty the Trash?

I'm trying to figure this one out too.  Yahoo! Mail doessn't give you any POP options for preventing the Bulk Mail download to iMac unless you pay for Yahoo's premium email.  Ain't that a peach?

    1. No.
    2. You either buy a download code for Mountain Lion from the online Apple Store or get Yosemite from the Mac App Store.
    3. Game Center isn’t part of 10.7.5.

  • Problem with "sent" mail folder-how do I trash the prefs in Apple Mail?

Since no one has answered my original request for assistance regarding my "Sent Mail" mailbox, I'll move the issue aside and approach it differently: How do I trash the prefs in Apple Mail without trashing my inbox and all the other mailboxes? Trashing the prefs works for most apps, but if I do that to Mail, I'm screwed. My real problem remains: I can no longer see or read the email in my "sent mail" box; I can see the info identifying the entry, but I can't read the contents of the email. It's all there in the Mail folder on my hard drive, but it doesn't show up in the Mail app.
So how can I trash the prefs for "Mail" without trashing my inbox?

    Hello b:
I have only had to trash the Mail preference once, and I cannot remember what occurred (except that the application worked OK after that).
Before you trash the preference file, try rebuilding the mailbox(s).

  • MBP - lost Junk mail folder, how to get it back?

As the message says, somehow it got deleted and I can't figure out how to make  new one
    thanks

Hello, is this an IMAP or POP account?
We might start with this since the mysterious loss raises concerns for me...
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ does not exist.

  • HT3228 I can not see my mail folders on my iphone that show on my computer mail folder, how do I fix that?

I cannot see my mail folders that are on my computer on my iphone.  How do I fix this?

With a POP account, you canot.
PP account is designed for use with a single computer.
IMAP is made for access from multiple devices.  Wioth an IMAP account, the folders that are on the mail server will appear on the iphone.

  • How do delete all messages in my all mail folder?

Hi, I use gmail and want to delete the messages in my all mail folder. Whenever I empty my trash, the mail keeps popping up in my all mail folder. I don't like this!

hullabaloo, we appreciate this device info! Should definitely be possible. If you go to your Voicemail Box, you can select Delete>on the bottom right hand corner, the option to choose Delete All should appear. This way you can delete them much quicker.

  • Bulk Mail folder

I have just been migrated to BT Mail. Is it possible to delete the (Yahoo) Bulk Mail folder now that my spam goes to the new BT Spam folder? What is the Y Conversation folder? I have not noticed it before.

Have you set up the account on your smartphone email app as IMAP? If so then you should be able to sync with the Spam folder just like the Inbox and all the other folders on the server. Whether or not the app auto-syncs at regular time intervals and you get notifications for new messages may well depend on the particular settings your app has for the account. You can usually choose to change such things on a folder by folder basis through the app settings, though it might depend on which app you are using.
Unless I'm mistaken my Android smartphone email app (K-9) notifies me when any new messages arrive, including Spam.
The standard five server folders for your account are Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Spam, Trash. You can add other personal server folders if you wish to, the simple way being through the webmail interface. If you add/remove personal server folders you might need to manually refresh the folder list on the app.

  • Yahoo Mobile Mail on 8830

I have the 8830 World Edition running on v4.2.2.196 using Sprint, and activated the Yahoo Mobile Mail app for access to my personal Yahoo account from my corporate device. What i didn't realize was that it also automatically forwarded all mail to my BB and now I want to stop that. I tried disabling the Browser Push function but that didn't work. All the answers on this forum talk about either navigating to Email Accounts to delete the address or accessing my provider's website with my account. Since my phone is corporate, I don't have an account with Sprint. Moreover, there is no icon for Email Accounts. If I go to the email settings I see a choice between my Yahoo address and my Desktop, but there's no selection to delete it.
I just tried going to Service Book under Advanced Options and deleted the 2 references to my Yahoo address. I'll see if that worked but if anyone has another solution I'd appreciate it.

Let's try that again. (do not know what happened on previous post)
I could not send photos on Yahoo mobile mail. After getting auto-switched to
to mobile mail when I setup my mail button and could not switch off mobile
mail; nor could I find an answer for the reason of not being able to send photos,
I said the $&@&&@ with it and setup a G-mail account.
Guess what? Not one email problem on their mobile mail. Even
after setting up my button for email on my Iphone. True,
there is no push mail, but I can set it up to check every few minutes.
My conclusion: Its a Yahoo/Apple/Att problem they don't want to deal with.

  • How can I empty the Junk mail folder in Yahoo without opening the messages?

How can I empty the Junk Mail folder in Yahoo without opening the messages?

You can swipe across them on the left and delete them unread. Unfortunately there is no 'delete all' option in mail.
Or you can just ignore them on your iPad and empty the junk folder when/if you access your mail online.

  • HT2500 How do you delete bulk mail folder in Mail program?

In my Mail program on my MacBook Air there is a Bulk Mail Folder usually full of annoying junk mail. How do I eliminate this folder so I don't get Bulk mail anymore?

    Hi Macmonter,
i have seen the complete post here and realised that your answer should have been selected as most useful, unfortunately Charlie7 didn't tried it and hence it was ignored. I still appreciate your experiemnt.
I am pretty new to this community thing, but i did a lot of experiments with Mail application and hence i m writing this post specifically which might be helpful to others. I use Yahoo Mail (only) for all online services like Facebook, G+, LinkedIn, Twitter etc. all possible. It's my central ID now and i cant change it any more. Going online and checking yahoo mail is sometimes very resource taking hence i decided to use mail client like Mail.app. Let me tell you that i personally tried all other mail apps including thunderbird but noticed one very imp thing that when u use Mail.app then your mails 7 their attachments are automatically indexed by Mac OS which is very important feature and when you search something then it searches within your mail also, this is really awesome. This will not happen if u use thunderbird or any other mail client. Also you get to use free Cloud with auto sync. Now this also tells you that I am stuck with 2 (idiotic) giants : Yahoo & Mac OSX Mail.
The thing is, Yahoo now uses IMAP (prior it was POP). IMAP has many advantages over POP for sure. Basically when you use multiple devices, filters and folders and want all those things in Sync. Google for more comparison, but let me tell you IMAP is really good. Now the problem is, Yahoo has powerful spam engine but it calls it 'Bulk Mail'. Apple also has powerful Spam Engine but they call it 'Junk'. So some how you have make apple understand that they are the same words, which is suggested by Mr. Macmonter which is really a great & very useful thing. If you mark 'Bulk Mail' folder as 'Use As Junk' then you are done. All messages from Bulk folder will be routed to Junk and you will see common Junk Folder.
I know there are people who dont want to see that Junk at all! And for that this is smart trick :
Configure your Yahoo as IMAP (which is default). Clear all messages from online Bulk Mail folder using browser login. Then Sync so all your online folders are downloaded if any and all your mails. Basically this is for people who has created online filters and folders (i have 12 folders)
Once your account is in Sync, disconnect. Export all your folders one by one slowly. It takes times if you have many mails and attachments. Once this is done successfully, DELETE this account!
Now create Yahoo POP account. Apple dont allow you to do this now, but there is trick. You will have to give wrong user-pass and shift to manual settings and there you can give correct server config which should be POP settings of Yahoo. And take this account online.
In online Yahoo Mail, set 'Do not download spam' under POP and Forwarders. So this will only start downloading Inbox messages. Remember POP dont see any other folders, hence we removed all filters and downloaded all folders. IT will download all mails coming to Inbox filtering Spam. So you never see spam. If you want to see some then you can go online periodically and check manually.
Now import your recently exported folders in this account and create filters and rules in Mail.app for routing of incoming messages for particular messages.
This gives you all old messages, pure inbox from yahoo, 2 way spam filter yahoo & Mac, and local routing of messages with index, smart folders and cloud! Only thing you dont get here is Sync with multiple devices if you have iMac, Air & iPhone. But there i suggest you to keep one of them as center for downloads and others should keep just 15days old copy. This will also save your resources!
    Enjoy..

  • Cannot move junk email to Bulk Mail folder in Yahoo, greyed out

I've searched but so far no luck.  Ever since I added my two Yahoo email accounts on my iPhone 4, I cannot seem to send junk email from my inbox to my Bulk Mail folder, it is greyed out.  First off, I've confirmed that the Bulk Mail folder on my iPhone is the same as my Spam folder in Yahoo mail on the desktop.  I can see the same emails in both folders.  Anyone have the same experience and found a way to correct this, or is this just a Yahoo limitation?

I am having the same problem, but I'm not very clear on how to follow the steps.
    went to my yahoo account in IOS;
    hit edit, hit "new mailbox" at the bottom right corner of the screen;
    entered a name;
    below that, it has "Mailbox Location", I opened it;
it list all my personal folders, I am stuck here.
How do I "point the mailbox location to the Bulk Mail folder", as instructed? Am I missing a step?
This is for iPhone 4S, with the latest released version. Thank you!

  • My yahoo and work emails are going into same folder - how do i stop

i just set up my enterprise email and my yahoo was going into the main "folder" on my bb prior to setting up my work/enterprise email. i still have the yahoo icon/folder as well. how do i change it to only have my work/enterprise emails go into the main mail folder/icon and my yahoo to just go to the yahoo icon? thanks so much!

    HI,
    Officially, You cant.
BES emails ALWAYS go into the  Messages icon.
All messages go into the Messages icon.
You can get third party applications to create a seperate BES email icon, or you can get the BES to push an icon (if you BES has the ability/mods).
But you will always have the Messages icon with ALL messages.
    Sorry.
I dont know the other third party places, but Im sure someone else can assist
(I think one place may be called Empower? A google search maybe?).

  • How can I empty anApple e-mail program mailbox.  I have thousands of message I wish to delete, but am unable to do so.  Any suggestions?

How can I empty an Apple e-mail program mailbox.  I have thousands of message I wish to delete, but am unable to do so.  I open the e-mails on my laptop, so I don't usually need to open them on the iMac.  Whenever I use select all, and the move to trash, they always seem to reappear again.  Prospectively, I know I can change the e-mail settings in preferences, but that doesn't help get rid of what is already there.  Any suggestions?

You mention 2 computers. Not sure how one relates to the other. Are the messages on one and not the other?
Are they in the Inbox, or another local folder you created? If a local folder, delete the folder.
Do you have anything used to sync messages between the 2 computers? If so, disable it.
Select the messages and choose Delete instead of moving to the trash.
If that doesn't work, rebuild the mailbox, quit Mail and reopen and try again.
If all fails, delete the account from the computer. Since it is POP, when you re-add the account, there won't be any messages to download.

  • Why do my web searches show up in my yahoo e-mail drafts folder?

my web searches are in my yahoo e-mail drafts folder, I have to delete them daily, it started when firefox was updated. I checked, yahoo is not my search engine.

Thank you - I'm editing them in the iPhone camera roll - not an app. I don't know what that's called - sorry! It just gives you the option to crop, auto enhance or remove red eye. I did those things, and then saved each one. When I put the photo on facebook or Slideshow+ app the originals show up instead of the edited versions. However, in the folder or on my phone, I only see the edited version??? It seems like a lot of people have this issue - I wish Apple support would chime in! Have a great day!
