Yahoo Calendar sync to Palm

I have a Windows XP Home Edition PC and a Palm (Sprint) Centro. I have installed version 4.2 Palm Desktop (per tech support) and installed Yahoo Auto Sync. I am connected to the internet through DSL and from the PC to the Centro by a USB cable.
Yahoo Auto Sync is suppose to sync Yahoo's calendar, address book and notepad. I do not use Outlook, only Yahoo. My sole intent is to download all of my calendar dates and events to the Centro. I have no use for Sprints' internet or email service.
Problem:
Spent MANY hours with Palm Tech support deleting and reloading software with no result. The problem is that the information that is on my Yahoo Calendar does not show up on the Palm desktop or the Centro. The information (data) transfers over but can not be viewed on Palms Calendar. However, if I search an event through the "view" window of Palm Desktop, all of the dates for that specific event can be seen. The data appears not to be "mapping" between the two programs properly.
In the desktop there is a area to add new events or titles to be viewed. Is there a name I should be using to access the calendar info? Or, just pitch the whole thing???

does it seem to not sync events that are >60 days from today?  My calendar won't sync to my Pre if the event is in May or beyond...

  • Calendar Sync for Palm won't install Conduit

Hi, I'm trying to install Calendar Sync for Palm 10.1 on Windows 2K. Installation proceeds with no errors, but the conduit does not appear in the Hotsynch conduit list. It does remove the default conduits for Calendar, Date Book and To-Do. I've tried uninstalling Palm Desktop and Calendar synch, and reinstalling them, no luck. HotSynch works fine with the conduits that are left, and works with the default conduits if I don't install the Oracle Calendar Synch. I can't find any mention of this problems on the forum, does anyone have an idea of what could cause it?
    Thanks.

There's a bug on the conduits as to were to find needed DLLs. It depends on setting itself in the path via environment variables.
The thing is that the conduits are not compatible with other Oracle client installations, which also add themselves to the path. An example is Oracle's Instant Client.
Check your system's path to see if you have any other Oracle client directories before CalSync's directory.
I had a TAR created for this and supposedly they will be 'patching' it for next version...

We are converting our Calendar Server to always use encryption. We're not finding any way to specify the encryption in the Calendar Sync conduit. Did we miss it somewhere? If not, how do we force the Calendar Sync for Palm to use encryption?

Usually applications will install and then fail later if there is a compatibility problem with the Intel processors. This is the first application I've seen that simply won't install. Any ideas?

  • Yahoo Calendar Sync no longer works

I get errors trying to sync with my yahoo calendar. Sometimes I get some strange error code and a message that says "Check Documnetation" and other times Desktop Manager crashes. If it crashes it won't stop crashing until I reboot my computer.
I've noticed that there are quite a few people out there having this problem all of a sudden. Up until now, I've had no problems syncing. Can anyone help? Is there any ideas how to resolve the issue?
    Thanks!

    Posting a "me too".
I've had the BB for about a month and the sync with Yahoo worked great, then stopped a week or two ago.  I assumed user error (me) and did uninstalls and re-installs.  Glad to know it might not be my error and will watch this stream to see if a fix appears.
My address book syncs with the addresses in Vista's Windows Mail, and has continued to work fine.  Only Yahoo has become a problem for me.

  • Calendar Sync - Palm error

    Hello all.
I am trying to use the Calendar Sync for Palm feature. I install the tool on my note (XP), it seems to be ok.
But when I try to HotSync my Palm, I get a "Out of Memory" error. Since it is not possible, is there any known issue? Any workaround?
My Palm OS is Garnet 5.4.9. My Collab is 10.1.2
On the setup I put <serverIP>:7778 and on the node Id I put <serverIP>
    Any help would be welcome.
    Thanks

Bizarrely, after days of throwing that error and not syncing my calendar at all, it sorted itself out and started syncing without error a couple days ago.  Go fig.  Nope, no new software in a very long time -- but I did start using the Security feature for the first time a couple weeks ago.

    Hi,
Can you tell me what version of the Calendar Sync for Palm you are running? Also, what version of Outlook, as well as the version of the Connector for Outlook, and the Palm desktop you have.

My Yahoo calendar is syncing fine both ways.  I can create events on
either my computer or my Pre2, and it shows up within seconds on the
other device when I hit "Sync Now".  I am using an unlocked Pre2 on
AT&T.  (Note: I did nothing on the Yahoo Calendar site, other than changing my Time Zone in Options.  It was defaulted to GMT+00:00)  I did not go through the "Set up Sync with your Mobile Phone".  I'm assuming when you set up a new event on the phone, Yahoo is shown in the top right corner, correct?  Is Yahoo your default calendar?

  • Centro will not sync with Palm desktop - Calendar and/or Contacts

I have used a Palm device for many years. Acquired a new Centro. Upon installation of Palm Desktop (on Windows XP) that came with Centro, all contacts, calendar, to do, memos, etc transferred to the Centro during installation.
Subsequent changes to contacts and/or calendar on Centro are not syncing with Palm desktop when Hot Sync is performed. Hot Sync starts and appears to complete normally. To Do list and memos appear to sync just fine. Have tried changing conduits to have Centro overwrite desktop. Have uninstalled/reinstalled Desktop many times.

    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

I have a Centro/Verizon Wireless using Versamail with accounts established for personal POP and Exchange e-mail synchronization.  The latter account is for work.  Previously I owned a Treo 650p using Versamail.
When I first installed Palm OS Desktop and synched to my Centro device, it was on a Windows XP home computer, and no Versamail accounts were defined.  First I downloaded and installed the Versamail version which allowed Exchange synchronization.  I exported the Treo650p contacts list to a disk file, and imported it onto the Windows XP home computer into the Palm OS Desktop installed with the Centro-supplied CD.  This synched the imported contacts list to the Centro fine.  After I defined all the POP and Exchange accounts, synchronization with the office Exchange contacts list worked fine, and still does.  Synchronization with the windows XP home computer for contacts seems to still be ok, too regardless of the MS Exchange Versamail account commingling with my personal POP accounts.  Maybe the install sequence is overriding the previous posts' notation that MS Exchange mail definition will override synch with Palm OS Desktop?
The problem now is I have a different/second home computer that's Vista os.  I installed the Palm OS Desktop and synch with the Treo.  The contacts list is not synching to this second home computer, maybe because I didn't follow the exact same sequence as for the Windows XP pc?  I can still synch my Centro with my Windows XP pc and that includes contacts.
Is there a way on this second pc to override the MS Exchange contacts override for synchronization without having to go through the exact same install sequence as occurred on the Windows XP machine?

  • ICal sync with Yahoo Calendar Beta ( 2 way) REDUX

I'm bringing back an issue that was archived recently even though it was not resolved.
Here it is: I (as well as many other people) am trying to sync iCal and Yahoo calendar. I followed the Yahoo instructions given here:
    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/calendar/yahoocalendar/sync/sync-03.html
But it only goes one way; when I add something to the Yahoo calendar it shows up in iCal, but when I add something to iCal it never shows up in Yahoo.
People keep saying to just follow the instructions and it will go both ways but for me AND MANY OTHERS it simply does not.
I've spent over an hour researching this, and this is a real live problem for a lot of people, going all the way back to 2008. I've seen dozens of different people saying they have this problem and I have yet to see a single solution aside from repeating the same instructions that do not work (for everybody).
Some of the discussions focus on iCal's "Calendar" calendar vs. "Work" and "Home" calendars, claiming only the "Calendar" one will sync. If that's true then it is beyond stupid and is totally useless to me and thousands of others. But I doubt it's true because I have tested it; I've created events in "Calendar," "Work," and "Home," and none of them sync back to Yahoo.
How can this be such a common problem and yet nobody has a solution? (At least not one that makes sense...)
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated by me and many others!
(Sorry if I sound a bit grumpy; this stuff can be really frustrating!)
    Thanks!

...one more thing; in Yahoo calendar, on the left-hand side where the calendars are listed, it only lists my Yahoo calendar, plus US holidays and Canadian holidays. It seems to me that my iCal calendars should be there too. How do I get them there? (That seems to be at the heart of it.)
There's an item to "subscribe to calendars" where you can enter an "iCal address," and the example they give is this:
    http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/sfo/ical.ics
That's a yahoo address, not an iCal address. And regardless, how do I find the iCal address for my three iCal calendars? ("Calendar," "Home," and "Work"). And besides, is this for syncing, or just viewing some external calendar?

  • Yahoo Calendars entries created on Yahoo do not sync on iphone after upgrad

After upgrading to IOS4, any previous or new calendar entries that have been created on the web in Yahoo calendars do not appear on the iphone. However, if you create a new yahoo calendar entry on the iphone then it appears without any problem in yahoo calendars (and also is removed if you delete from the iphone).
The calendar is turned on correctly in Mail, Contacts, Calendars for the Yahoo accounts I have and I have even deleted and re-created the accounts on the iphone to see if that makes a difference and it does not.
Prior to the upgrade to iOS4, the yahoo calendars all worked fine.
    Any ideas

To fix yahoo calendars then do the following:-
To reset, go to Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendar. In this menu, go to "Calendars" options which is near the bottom. In the Sync categories change the setting from "*All Events*" to "*Events 6 Months Back*". Go to the calendar app and it should now Sync all of your Yahoo calendars. Go back to settings and change Sync settings back to "All Events" and they should all still appear.
Also, for each yahoo account, go into them and make sure that Calendars is set to on.

  • Iphone calendar and yahoo not syncing, anyone have issue

My iphone4 is not syncing with my yahoo calendar. It has been an issue for a few days. I have downloaded and installed latest software. Computers show updates, but not the phone. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I have never heard of this Yahoo Beta app which has been a Beta for nearly a year and I don't see such an app available via the iTunes app store in the U.S. but regardless, you need to contact Yahoo about this problem with their app which is still a Beta - the final version has not been released.

  • TS1702 The Calendar app that came on my i4S Phone does not sync the correct time for items posted on my Yahoo Calendar.  Actually, they post exactly 4 hours earlier than the correct time on my Yahoo Calendar.  Does anyone have a "fix" to correct the "time

The Calendar app that came on my i4S Phone does not sync the correct time for items posted on my Yahoo Calendar. Actually, items post exactly 4 hours earlier than the correct time on my Yahoo Calendar.   My i4S is in the correct New York time zone.  Help?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

  • Calendar Sync, Palm Zire 31 and Mac OS 10.4.6

We just purchased several Palm Zire 31 handhelds because that model is one on Oracle's list as "certified" to work with Calendar Sync. However, I cannot seem to get it to sync properly to Oracle Calendar. Prior to installing Calendar Sync it synced to my Palm Desktop data just fine. Please point me in the right direction.
Here are all the versions and hardware:
Powerbook G4 running Mac OS 10.4.6
Palm Zire 31 running Palm OS 5.2.8
    Palm Desktop software 4.2.1
Oracle Calendar Sync 9.0.4.2.10 (installed on Zire 31)
    Palm HotSync Manager 3.2
    Oracle Calendar (desktop software) 10.1.1.0.2.694

I don't sync a Zire 31, but I do sync a variety of Treos and Tungsten units with 10.4.x. I sync my Events and Tasks with Oracle and my Addresses with the Apple conduit.
Here are the directions I have come up with:
First, make sure you are using the latest Oracle Palm Sync (sounds like you are)
Second, make sure you have the latest iSync Palm conduit (version 3.0.2 under OS 10.4)
open the iSync application, go to the Devices menu, and choose Enable Palm Sync for this device
Click on the device name. Make sure Contacts is checked, but NOT Calendars
    Quit iSync
Open Palm Desktop -> HotSync -> Conduit Settings
choose iSync Conduit and click Conduit Settings. Check the box to enable Palm Sync for device
Open MacintoshHD -> Library -> Application Support -> Palm Hotsync
    move Apple into Conduits folder
move Oracle Calendar Address Conduit into Disabled Conduits folder
HotSync, and you should be good to go.
