Yahoo Contact Sync Alert for Deleted Account

I keep getting a yahoo contact sync alert every thirty minutes or so - most annoying as I don't want to sync any contacts, and it wants to sync with a deleted account. This happened after the upgrade to Lion.

I don't see anywhere in iCloud where I can delete the account.  I do maintain the account in Mail, but I looked in there before I posted anything here and it's not set to sync contacts.  This is the only thing I have a problem with is that it's trying to sync contacts.  I don't want to do this anymore and haven't done it for a while.  I would just tell it OK and be done with it, but the contacts on Yahoo don't match up with the contacts on my Mac/on iCloud...and the only options are to replace with the Yahoo contacts or merge the contacts.  I don't want to do either, and there's no option to replace the Yahoo contacts.  One other thing that I didn't note before is that it's only doing it on my MacBook Air.  It's not doing it on any of my other Macs which were also set to sync with Yahoo at one time, but had the sync turned off.

  • Help!  Yahoo contacts sync

Has anyone been able to sync yahoo contacts through itunes to their iphone. I enter my username and password in the info tab on the yahoo contact sync in itunes and than nothing happens.
    Thanks

I had my Yahoo contacts on my phone (with no problems), but had to reset the whole freaking phone for another reason/problem. Now, I cannot seem to get my Yahoo contacts back onto the phone. I keep getting a message saying I don't have an internet connection, so it won't upload the contacts to the phone. I tried disconnecting the phone, opening the internet and logging into Yahoo, then reconnecting the phone and attempting to upload the contacts... still says the same 'no internet connection' message. I definitely am fully connected to the internet. I am pretty frustrated with this phone after 8 days. T'

  • How to get rid of yahoo contacts syncing?

Reposting from another board, because I wasn't getting any replies there.
I had to set up an iPod touch for my boss's son a while a go and I used Yahoo address book syncing at that time. Now, few months later, I got a 3GS for myself and whenever I sync it with my iTunes at work(Vista machine), Yahoo contacts sync window comes up, warning me that it's about to erase all of my contacts. I get a choice of canceling it, but it's still really annoying, especially since I have contact syncing turned off for my phone. Please help!

Choose Preferences from the Safari menu, open the General pane if needed, and change it. If that doesn't work, open the Extensions tab and turn off everything you don't recognize.

  • How to change the contact sync settings for icloud? please advise

how to change the contact sync settings for icloud? please advise?

There are no settings to change. Assuming you are using Lion 10.7.2 (or 10.7.3) - which you should be - you simply sign in in System Preferences>iCloud and check 'Contacts' and any other data you want to sync.
If you are using an earlier system you will not be able to sync your contacts, and there is no workaround. However you can sync them with Google or Yahoo contacts, though I don't know how well this works.

  • Email alert for different accounts

Hi.. I have TWO email accounts on iPhone Mail. I want ONLY one to sound an alert upon receiving new messages. The Sound Option for Mail applies to all accounts. Is there a way to get around that and just alert for the account desired?
    THANKS

There is no setting to change that, unless you choose to have the second account set to manual for fetching mail. If it is set to manual and the other account, the one you wish to receive the alert for is set to fetch, then it would emulate only receiving the alert for one account. It is a generic alert that sounds when you receive mail.
While not necessarily what you were looking for, it is a workaround.

  • Yahoo Contact Sync when 2 accounts added?

So I just recently added my second yahoo mail account to my iPhone (yeah I have my reasons for two) but when I went to sync it, it said there was an error in yahoo address sync and to try again later.
Could this be because I have two yahoo accounts?
My second account dose not have any addresses on it.
    Thanks for any help.

After spending some time with Chat support, I have found that in order to re-establish a sync with Yahoo! contacts (should it have failed),
    1. delete your Yahoo! account (all aspects, messaging, email, calendar, contacts)
    2. restart the phone.
    3. Open Accounts app
    4. Add "Email Account" (do not choose Yahoo!)
    5. Choose items that you wish to sync as usual.
For some reason, the Yahoo! setting is giving errors with the contact sync.
    Hope this helps

  • IPhone with Yahoo contact sync: "unknown error (4)"

When I try to sync with my iPhone, I get "itunes could not sync with yahoo address book because an unknown error occurred (4)". This has happened consistently for about a month. I have an iPhone 3GS, with iOS 4.2.1, and iTunes 10.1.1, running on Windows XP (SP3).
I have tried reinstalling all Apple software by following directions in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923. This does not resolve the problem. I have also tried reseting the iPhone and using various options in iTunes such as Info > Advanced > Replace information on this iPhone. Also, I just had my iPhone replaced due to hardware reasons, so this is a brand new phone (but restored from my old backup) and still has the same issues.
I have seen a similar post of this error from 3 years ago stating that although the error occurs, sync still happens. In my case I can't say sync is happening. Most changes I make I do not see reflected (either changes in Yahoo or iPhone don't sync to one another), however in on case a contact I made in my Yahoo address book did sync to my iPhone. Later I deleted it from Yahoo, and the contact then did NOT get deleted from the iPhone after a sync. So, needless to say, if sync is working it is extremely inconsistent.
    Anyone else having this issue?

This must be a very common error that I would expect Apple to reply to. I too and getting the exact issue as Tomes...when I sync my iPhone to yahoo contacts, I get "itunes could not sync with yahoo address book because an unknown error occurred (4)". This has happened consistently for about a month. I also have an iPhone 3GS, with iOS 4.2.1, and iTunes 10.1.1.4, running on Windows XP (SP3).
I have done exhausted tests and I can confirm....1) It is NOT a connectivity issue since my yahoo contact do get synced on my iPhone but MY iPHONE CONTACTS DO NOT GET UPDATED ON MY YAHOO CONTACTS!!! This is a MAJOR problem since I mostly add new contacts to my iPhone. 2)When I do change an existing contact on my iPhone, during the sync it will ask me to review and chose which of the two to use...However, if I choose the iPhone change it does not update the Yahoo contact.....so again it is connecting to Yahoo but there is a bug that can absolutely be replicated.
Can someone from Apple look into this? I have seen so many posts on this but no answers. (Also, I get the same error on my iPad!!!! when syncing contacts).

  • Turn off sync alerts for dock changes?

I just upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard. This mostly went well, however, when I make any changes to my dock, I get a "Sync Alert" saying that syncing with the dock with change it by more than 25%. How do I turn this off?
    Couple of notes:
    - I've never had a Mobile Me account.
    - I've never tried to sync the Dock with anything.
    - I have more than 20 items in the dock, so changing a single item shouldn't constitute a 25% change anyway.
What process is producing these alerts and how do I make it stop?
On a similar note, when I sync my iPad to iCal using iTunes, I get a similar complaint about 25% change. This is again nuts, since I have appointments dating back to 1999 and the last sync with iCal only added 2 new events.
I tried fishing iSync from Snow Leopard out of a back up and unchecking the alert box for 25% change. But that didn't help.
    Any ideas???

I have iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.3, and this is the solution that's working for me so far. However, I had to use the Calendar app on my Mac OS X (Yosemite) - not sure if there is another option for PC. Basically, I added the shared Google calendar to iCloud and told Google not to sync the shared calendar to my iPhone, so the shared calendar now shows up under the iCloud list of calendars and not the Google list (and thus the option to turn off alerts). Note: the shared calendars I'm using are read-only, so I don't know how well this would work if you need to edit events from iPhone. I hope this helps, and if anyone has a better solution, please share!
    1. Turn on iCloud calendars on iPhone and Mac.
    2. In browser, open the shared Google calendar settings and copy the iCal calendar address URL.
    3. In Mac OS X Calendar app, subscribe to the shared Google calendar. File > New Calendar Subscription > paste shared Google calendar URL > click Subscribe
    4. Set Location to iCloud. I checked Ignore Alerts because I also didn't want them on my Mac.
    5. The shared calendar should now be listed on your iPhone calendars in the iCloud section with the red i.
    6. Press the red i and scroll to the bottom and switch off Event Alerts.
    7. Remove the shared calendar from the Google list by going to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect and unchecking the shared calendars.

  • Yahoo contact sync problem

I keep adding contacts on my iphone and then they momentarily show up in yahoo contacts and then I come back and they are removed.  I have the latest version of iOS on my iphone 4s.  Anyone else having this issues?

    In a word, no.
Yahoo supports accessing a Yahoo account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's Mail application only - Yahoo doesn't support accessing the account as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer or with any other email client, which defeats the purpose and is required for what you are wanting.
When creating the account with the iPhone's Mail application using the Yahoo account preset, the account is created as an IMAP account. This will work in conjunction when accessing the account via webmail access using a browser, but it won't work in conjunction when accessing the account with an email client on your computer since the account can be accessed as a POP account only with an email client on your computer.

  • Clean up user certificate in Lync Database for Deleted Account

    Hi all,
I have a case in which several user accounts have been deleted from AD. And not like Exchange, deleted user from AD does not remove Lync data (i dont get it why they design it differently).
From lync server, get-csusercertificate and get-csuser for those deleted account has no result as expected.
But when i use dbanalyze /report:user for those deleted account, the user certificate is still there.
I run Update-CsUserDatabase -Force -FQDn xyz.domain.local still the user certificates are there.
How can i clean up those certificates instead of waiting them to be expired?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the feedback.
Surely because of this issue, we need remove certificate on clients, and do the "proper" way for further account deletion.
If anyone curious about this case, I suggest everyone using Lync Server spend some time to try this scenario:
    1. Create user on your AD (ie: [email protected] wait for replication or force it)
    2. Enable Lync account for that user
    3. Logon to a PC with Lync Client (i used Lync Client 2013), logon using the
[email protected] , DONT FORGET To Save Password - that's what user usually do. You may do chat, add contacts, etc.
    4. From Lync server, with command prompt, go to Lync ResKit directory, run the following command dbanalyze.exe /report:user /user:[email protected] /sqlserver:<FQDN of Lync Server>\RTCLocal.
At the bottom of the report, there will be information about the invoked certificate with Device ID, Publication Time, and Expiration Time, and the certificate itself. There will be more than 1 certificate for test.user if you logon to another PC and save
    the password too.
    5. Now, from user PC, logoff from Lync Client. Logon to your AD, delete [email protected], wait for some time for replication.
    6. Now go back to user PC, sign in with Lync Client. Amazingly you're still be able to sign in to Lync, do the chat, and everything, as long as you haven't delete the sign in info.
    7. For admin perspective, you may use Get-CsUser for the [email protected], or Get-CsUserCertificate or any Get-CS command, there will be no [email protected] on your Lync Server, but if you use
dbanalyze, there will be a quite information about that user along with their certificate. <= This is the one i haven't figure any way to clean it up.
    8. Funny thing is, if you ever notice on your Lync Server, the normal user account who logon and logoff using IM client app, will be logged on Lync Server eventviewer (Windows Log - Security). But the
[email protected] will not be logged on the eventviewer, therefore you won't know where they are login from (what PC), like a ghost account.
I am expecting at least there is some kind of other ResKit to clean up this junk data from server database.

  • HT204150 How can I change calendar/contacts sync setting for iPhone?

contact not backing up on my imac address book

On the device, go to Settings>icloud.  Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID.  If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost.  Then log back in using the correct ID.  ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).

  • Why aren't Yahoo contacts syncing to iCloud?

I have 2 contacts groups on my iPad. I have an iPad group and a Yahoo group. I can see all of my contacts on my iPad, but on iCloud.com I can only see my iPad contacts.  If I click the groups ribbon, it only shows one group. What am I doing wrong?  All of my iCloud syncs are on, but the yahoo contacts do not show on iCloud.  Only one group shows on the iCloud ribbon.

Only an iCloud group will sync with iCloud.

  • Apple Mail files for deleted account?

After I delete one of my Gmail accounts in Apple Mail, there still remains a folder at:
~/Library/Mail/V2/IMAP- (and then the email address of the removed/deleted account)
Does that make sense? I thought it deleted all data files.
    Thanks for any info.

No, it doesn't remove the mbox data from deleted accounts. As to why, my best guess would be that if you are to add the email account again, the slow process of downloading and caching all the data from the email host server again is avoided. If you want to completely remove the IMAP account, you can safely delete the mentioned path.

  • Sync settings for Domain accounts

    Hello
We have a close & secured environment and we want to migrate to Windows 8.1.
one of the nice benefits Windows 8.1 has is the sync settings feature. I would love it if my users inside my corp will be able to login anywhere and get their Desktop, Tiles, Settings etc. no matter where they login from.
It is somehow overlaps with folder redirection and roaming profiles are there any new policy settings or other settings that use the same sync mechanism as the Microsoft Account+OneDrive on Windows 8.1 for domain accounts only?
like defining a network share for those settings and force the clients to sync the
If there isn't, obviously the OneDrive client which is a built-in feature on 8.1 is only a noise in the background
    Thanks
    Tamir Levy

    Hi,
When you sync your settings with a connected account, the settings are stored in the cloud. So if you want to take the control of everything, Roaming profile and Folder Redirection would still be your choice.
