Yahoo email account won't set up

I had my verizon.net email account working for over 3 years.
Suddenly yesterday I noticed that I wasn't receiving emails. What I noticed was I was getting an error saying that there was a problem with apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com server wasn't connecting.
I tried a new yahoo account and it gives me the same error. Even when I attempted to set up my Gmail account, it failed with the same thing.
Ay ideas what is going on? Is this a operating system problem or has Apple done something?

This may seem strange to anyone who reads this, but I figured out how to get this to work.
I was trying this at home connecting through my WiFi connection. When I went outside, away from my WiFi, and using my network, everything worked fine.
I came home, connected back to my WiFi and it failed again. I turned off my WiFi and sure enough it worked.
I don't know why my WiFi would make this happen, but it did.

I just got my new Droid Razr yesterday, and I have tried numerous times to set up my existing Yahoo email account but I keep getting an error message that states "System is unavailable to support the request". My email address and password are correct, I am able to log in just fine on my computer, so I can't figure out what the problem is or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!

Incoming Settings:
Username: [email protected]
Password: (check the case for your password)
IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 143
Security type: TLS if available
IMAP path prefix: (leave blank, it should read "Optional"
Outgoing Settings:
SMTP server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 25
Security type: TLS if available
Require sign-in: Checked
Username: [email protected])
Password: (check the case for your password)
If that does not work, I would use the app available in the Play Store as stated above.

I recently bought the Nokia C3-00 on Vodafone but asked them to unlock it so that I could use my exisitng O2 contract.
I want to set up my Yahoo email account, but Im having great difficulty!
When I initially put my O2 sim card in, they sent me the settings for MMS and Web. I can get on the internet and I can access Facebook, but I cant seem to access the Nokia Ovi Store or set up my Yahoo email account.

When I click on the Mail icon on the Menu screen I have a message appear saying 'No mailbox created. Set up mail now?' If I click 'Yes' It says 'Use an existing mail address?' to which I also say 'Yes' and proceed to emter my email address, etc. Should this be happening as I notice in the video that Yahoo Mail is one of the options in the video, however as I have said I do not have that screen!

I think you have to turn off Private Browsing.
Tap "Private" on Safari Screen to disable Private Browsing. When top of screen is white, Private Browsing is off.

I can't set up one particular Yahoo email account but other Yahoo email accounts work fine.

When I try to add one of my Yahoo email accounts to my iPhone it says "Server Unavailable Please try again later". But I am able to log in to this Yahoo email account successfully from my iMac via Safari and I am also able to add other Yahoo email accounts to the iPhone. It's an iPhone 4 that was just migrated from iPhone 3GS. I've tried both on an iPhone 4 and 4S. It worked fine on the previous iPhone 3GS.
Please help!

Choose a slighly different name for the "Name" field, and try to add your Email and Password again.

Original non BT Yahoo email account

I've just come on to BT Broadband over the last couple of days and although I could access my non BT Yahoo email account yesterday I cannot today. I see there is something about SMTP verification - is that what I need to do? Or do I need to access via Outlook Express - which at the moment is downloading only my (disconnected but still live) ntlworld emails! Can I in all this preserve my inboxes, folders and files, and address books from both the Yahoo and current Outlook Express accounts?

I find that, with a BTYahoo window open and signed in, if I open another tab and go to yahoo.co.uk I'm logged in as my BTY persona. Signing out of that, and logging in again with a yahoo ID gets me a page where I'm signed in with my Yahoo credentials.

I don't have Yahoo or BT Yahoo downloading to my Outlook Express only my old ntlworld account which is still operative in my previous home (where family still use it) so presumably I can continue to get these although I cannot reply so of course I'm in the process of letting all contacts/subscriptions know.

OE could, I think, be setup to deal with all 3, yes (but I don't use OE, so I can't be specific as to exactly what you'd need to do) and leave your archives and address books alone.
I say "OE could, I think, be setup to deal with all 3". What I really mean is that it's possible - if OE can't do it, there are certainly other mail clients that can.
And could I reply to both Yahoo and BT emails?
Yes - it'll require some setting up, which I can't help you with.
Or would I be better just to have BT as an email account (preferable) but how would I do this without losing the other two accounts' files/folders/contacts?
The BT/Yahoo mail servers don't do IMAP, so you won't be able to sync. folders, contacts etc with OE, but they should still be usable via the webmail interface.
BTY can be configured to fetch email from other accounts - would that be of any help ?

Since updating Firefox browser, i am unable to gain access to my yahoo email account. I can access the email with Interent Explorer with no trouble. Whenever I click on a mail link on the yahoo sites to check my mail, I get rerouted to an error page ..... "Sorry, we can't find "ca.mg4.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.gx=1". Please check the spelling of the web address." is what is said at top of page whenever I click on any mail links.

This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password. instead of the yahoo account password.

I would like to set up two yahoo email accounts on my ipad2 so my husband and I can both check our email easily when we're travelling. Once I get it set up, how do I switch between the two accounts? Thanks, this has been driving me crazy.

Tap the account id 'button' at the top left of your list of emails to go to list of the folders in that account, and then tap the Mailboxes button top left of that to go to the list of email accounts that you've set up - then just tap the account name that you want to switch into and then Inbox (or just the account id under the Inboxes section on that screen to go straight to the Inbox)

Toggling between 2 yahoo email accounts

I successfully set up 2 yahoo email accounts. I am able to switch back and forth by disabling one or the other. Is there an easier way to toggle back and forth between the 2 email boxes?

Figured out that I need to click on the accounts tab where I can toggle between accounts.
