Yahoo email attachment downloads not showing anywhere

When I open a yahoo email attachment, asks to download, checked by norton, downloads, but is not showing up anywhere

Hi Lisa
Strange this would occur on both browsers. This may be another Yahoo problem. Last night, images did not appear in my Yahoo Mail. This morning they are back. Do you still see the problem? If you do...
Are you seeing the image problem on other web site pages, or is this specific to Yahoo? If occurring on various web sites in Safari usually indicates the "display images when page opens" box is not checked in the Safari Preferences>Appearance panel. The counterpart setting in Firefox would be Content>Load Images Automatically.
If not, are you using any 3rd party Internet blocking software?

  • Yahoo email will sometimes not show graphics, but shows numbers

Sometimes in an email, the graphics do not show up, but does show numbers (address, I think). If I forward it (yahoo mail) then the graphics do show up. I tested and this does NOT happen using Internet Explorer. I have 2 laptops, both running Firefox 6.0.2 - both Windows 7, one 32 bit and one 64 bit OS. Usually the graphics do show up.

    Can you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images permissions.default.images
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

  • Email images are not showing in my new iPad.

email images are not showing in my new iPad.  This was not a problem initially, but just started.  I use yahoo mail.  Any thoughts?

This seems to be a problem with Yahoo! that started within the past few days.  I am assuming that you are accessing your Yahoo! Mail through Safari.  Until a fix is issued, you have two options -- (1) use the Mail app included in iOS, logging in with your Yahoo! account information or (2) when in Yahoo! Mail in Safari, click on your profile name/pic in the bottom left corner, choose Options, and then choose the last option, which displays your e-mail using the older classic version of Yahoo! Mail.  It's not as pretty or easy to manuever around, but at least it shows the images in your e-mails, which is the most important thing.  Both Apple and Yahoo! have been contacted about this issue, so hopefully a fix will be released soon.

I've seen the opposite issue.  My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments.  She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app.  I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up.  I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah.  Seems like some bugs.  Hope Apple fixes them soon.

  • How do you print an email attachment and not the email itself. please.

Hi there, if there is text in the body of the email it will print automatically when sent to an ePrint email address. The only way to just have the attachment print is for there to be no text in the email body.
Hope that helps answer your question.

The body of my Yahoo email is no longer showing. I rebooted my iPad with no luck. what might be causing this problem?

I tried this (I just called the reset a reboot) and also removed Yahoo email from the iPad then reloaded, neither helped. Thank you for trying to help.

  • Email attachment download shows "invalid menu handle"

I click on an email attachment, the download box appears in top left corner and starts downloading then a rectangular box appears in middle of screen saying "invalid menu handle" and download won't open.

Not the same thing. Google "Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility". The first hit will be what you need (on the Microsoft site).

  • Email attachment photos not appearing as thumbnails

When I receive a Yahoo email using Safari, the email attachment preview photos appear as a grey box with an inner blue box with a question mark in the middle. When I checked my Yahoo email using Firefox, the email attachment preview photos also do not appear. They show up as a gray box with a broken image icon in the upper left corner. The difference between the two is that in Safari, I am unable to download the pictures and view them at all. Get a securedownload thing. In Firefox, I am able to download the pics successfully. The preview photos (thumbnails) used to appear at the bottom of my email messages and I was able to click on them and download. My question is: How do I fix this problem of not being able to view the attachment photo previews (ya know the ones beside the words "Scan and save this photo to your computer"?

  • Yahoo mail attachments will not show in View Slideshow

receiving mail Yahoo shows two options for attachments - View Slideshow and Download. When trying to View Slideshow, loading gears keeps spinning and spinning but never loads using Firefox 8.0.1
Cache and cookies are cleared regularly and again just now - still no luck. Addons are disabled - still no luck. So Yahoo Customer Care says problem is with Firefox, since it will load on Safari.

I'm with BT Internet which uses Yahoo's Neo Mail and have the same problem (plus others). This applies to every browser I have tried (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, SeaMonkey, Camino, Opera).
I sometimes find opening, closing, re-opening an email prods the slideshow into action.
Problems include: email thumbs don't show pics (slideshow thumbs usually do), pictures will not load in slideshow, if they do only first eight or so load (sometimes cured by scrolling through thumbs in email).
Also slideshow crops many pictures, but is OK full screen.
This is on Macs running 10.6.8 and 10.4.11 with latest versions of Firefox/TenFourFox.
Googling shows other people have this problem.

  • Email pictures (gifs) not showing, how can I redownload them?

    Hi,
I have an issue where I am receiving regular emails with picture attachments in GIF format.  However, despite the images being roughly the same size, with the same characteristics (pixels/inch,RGB,etc) sometimes the image shows in the email and sometimes it does now.  I have fiddled with the automatically download picture setting but it doesn't have any effect.  Curiously, if I uncheck the automatic download it doesn't give me an option to download them manually but still seems to be automatically displaying them.
I suspect the problem with the emails where the image is not displayed is that I had very poor cellular signal at the time of reception, probably with the signal cutting out whilst the image file was in the process of downloading.  In fact, with several images only half the content has appeared on screen with the rest showing as white which I think is probably the same problem.
Is there a way I can get the email program to download the message again?  The images that do not show just have a blue question mark icon and don't give me any options when I long press on them.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    James.

Also:   You said:        I did try forwarding the original e-mail from the inbox before deleting it and when it arrived and I opened the email it said 'unable to download attachment'.
Here are just some of the most common reasons legitimate emails with attachments may not make it through or the email makes it through but not the attachment especially when forwarding.
Spam/Virus Filters: perhaps the largest issue is that many viruses that attempt to send themselves in email as attachments. As a result ISPs, mail programs and mail servers have all had to become extremely suspicious of any and all attachments.
So an attachment counts against you when the recipient's spam filter analyzes your incoming mail. If it has an attachment, it's somewhat more likely to be considered spam, and filtered or blocked accordingly.
Attachment Blockers: for the very same reason that mail systems are looking at attachments as a bad thing, many email programs now come pre-configured to actually block access to some or all attachments. The recipient must somehow indicate that attachments are alright. Depending on their email program, this may be something that they can configure by file type (allow ".jpg" attachments, but not ".exe"), by sender (usually by adding the sender's email address to an address book or contact list), or globally.
Size Matters: as the internet slowly gets faster and faster many consider this as becoming less and less of an issue, but in fact we're keeping up by having and trying to transfer larger and larger files. The fact is large files always have been a problem, and ISPs regularly disallow emails that exceed a certain size. The problem, of course, is that even though "a certain size" might be getting larger over time, it will also vary from ISP to ISP, if they do this. Thus even if your ISP allows you to send a large file, that doesn't mean that your recipient's ISP will allow him to receive it.
Larger files are an issue because of the time it takes to send them, and the disk space required to hold them on the multiple servers they traverse as they make their way from point A to point B. Unlike simply copying a file from one machine to another, where only two machines are impacted, email travels across several servers and each of those must have the space to hold your files and an internet connection fast enough to receive and transmit it in a reasonable amount of time, along with everything else that server might be doing.
    I hope this helps.

  • All of a sudden my yahoo email wont display correctly (shows some links for inbox etc but they arnt clickable and no emails are displayed) and the links on facebook (notifications, home etc) dont display but facebook content does.

When i load yahoo home page it will display content but some is not clickable and is not displayed correctly. In my email it will show the content on the left side (inbox, drafts etc and along the top (contacts, inbox etc) nothing can be clicked and no emails load or are shown. Facebook will load news feed content but will not display the icons at the left top (notifications, messages etc) they are clickable and work but the images just aren't there. Also not able to play games in facebook. The game loads up to 100% but never finishes. I dont go to many other website but i did check a few and they seem to be fine. May this be a website issue or firefox issue? i am able to use internet explorer to correctly see my email and facebook so assuming its a firefox thing.

  • TS3276 the images (attachments) are automatically resized (smaller) when I send them to a customer. My email screen does not show a drop down menu box where you can leave as actual size. Is there a setting elsewhere that can be set.

Any suggestions on problem I have. I receive images, say a file that is 3 mgs through email on Safari mail and when I try to resend it or forward it or any other larger file, when it sends the file is reduced by about 1/3. My screen does not show and drop down menu with a feature to keep actual size or reduce that is suggested when I looked up solutions to the problem.  I can't find a setting anywhere in mail that I can change to make sure my files are kept at actual size. I figure a setting got changed -don't know how - but it happened about a month ago. Caused problems as I work in graphics can't send files to clients as they come out too small. Any suggestions on how to fix.
    Thanks

What email program are you using? And what do you mean by "Safari mail"?

  • Email Attachment Download

Whenever I try to download an attachment to an email the download process freezes up.  This has also happened when I tried to download a video from a respected site.  It ran for 30 minutes and froze at time remaining 1 sec.  Any help in understanding this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Are you certain your PC is not infected with a virus or some malaware?  Have you run these programs to clean your system?  You may also want to clean out your temp files, cookies, history, etc.  See if that helps.  Also which browser are you using when these issues occur?
