YAHOO! email on work Powerbook

I, the wonderful Powerbook I use is shared at work.
We use YAHOO email quite a bit but one or two confidential emails (both in terms of recipients and subjects) to contacts of MINE may be read by colleagues and I don't want that.
For addresses (TO) I know how to turn Yahoo's AutoAddressComplete on/off but so do they! And then there's the SUBJECT field which seems to have a memory of its own......
The problem is: no matter who uses this work Mac, when they go on to their own Yahoo! email, if I am very unlucky they will be able to see which of our contacts/competitors I have sent emails to and the titles of same.
The memories in To/Subject fields hold details from everyone who has gone into Yahoo mail on this Powerbook.
Is there any way I can ''wipe clear'' the memories in these fields??
(I am now using another Mac of my own for the most confidential stuff but found out this too late)
Thanks
Dave

I hope I understand your problem correctly: AutoFill in Safari is remembering what you've typed in the TO and SUBJECT fields of the Yahoo! online email service, and you want this information erased and inaccessible to subsequent users.
In Safari, go to Preferences and click on AutoFill. Uncheck "other forms" if you don't want Safari remembering any form information (such as the TO/SUBJECT fields) any more. To delete information already stored, click Edit (beside (other forms), select any Yahoo domains from the list and delete them. Or hit delete all.
I hope this helps...

  • My yahoo email wont work on my iphone 5...what do i do...thanks

I can't get my yahoo email to work on my iphone.. what do i do now..thanks

No it issn't an iphone issue.
The issue is with yahoo and their server.
You can do a search in the forum "yahoo mail"  and see how many threads there are about not being able to connect to Yahoo server and the answer is the same it's Yahoo problem not Apple or iphone.

  • I downloaded Office for Mac 2011, and almost immediately my Yahoo email stopped working, most images were disabled throughout my internet sites, and my bank site reported that I was using a "new computer," which is not true. How can I get my email to work

I have an iMac version 10.6.8/2.66 GHz Intel Processor and 4 GB memory, with Safari 5.1.10. I had used Office for Mac 2008 but had to upgrade for work. The download (from Amazon) went swiftly, but when I started Word, it did not function too well. Then about an hour later I noticed that my Yahoo email site stopped working, it lost all images and the text just jumbled up on the left side of the screen. No amount of emptying caches or resets/quits/restarts did anything. I called the Internet support, and they just said it was my iMac that had the problem. I have been reduced to using MacMail as my email, but this is tenuous, as my Yahoo account keeps holding things up and constantly asking me for my password (and sometimes it does not accept it). How can I get my computer back?

The path may be long and tedious, grasshopper.
Actually, the download of Office 2011 for Mac probably was not legal and may have contained bugs or other things meant to make it unstable, or invite a host of issues. The usual path would be Office 2011 for Mac on DVD so you could reinstall it and add the extras from the disc as needed; or fix the installation later on. The updates for security were downloads from Microsoft servers. You'd need a legitmate version with pass code.
Options for Mac and office-like application suites include Libre Office, NeoOffice, and these run free. The latter supports up to Mavericks. 10.9.1 now. They have a word, excel, and other parts a lot like the real office.
If you have a working clone of the system prior to installing the Office 2011 for Mac download and any subsequent and perhaps unseen extras, you could revert to it simply by restarting the computer from the clone, where it resides in externally enclosed self-powered hard disk drive, of a type known to support OS X clones... With ports to help work with most modern Macs. FireWire + USB. Then, clone it back w/ carbon copy cloner.
Short of that, perhaps someone will see your post and offer some indepth method of hunting down bugs via use of Console logs; and maybe booting into Terminal utility to use unix code. It can be rather involved. Maybe Linc Davis will offer some detailed reply that will invite you to read carefully and try it.
I've given up using computers long ago.

  • Yahoo emails not working in iphone 5

Hi, I have just changed to Iphone 5 and I noticed that my yahoo emails are not working. I cannot save the yahoo password when I set up my yahoo email accounts in Iphone 5.
The error message says "Yahoo Server unvailable". Please try again later.
I tried to delete the yahoo account and add in again but still not working.
    Please advise urgently.

It's not your phone... Yahoo is having issues right now with many of their users.  I'm getting the same errors logging in from my PC.

  • Can't get my yahoo email to work

Hi there,After the battery of my 9360 Blackberry died, I just bought a new 9720 two days ago in Dubai, thinking that I can just put the same SIM card (from the 9360) of my home mobile provider SwissCom into the new 9720, and that I can just continue to receive emails from my yahoo email account. But it is not working. After I setup the yahoo email account under the Setup function on the new 9720, the acount is listed with the Yahoo symbol under Email accounts ... where you can then choose to 'add another email address' or 'return to setup'). But the icon 'Email Accounts' (under Setup, where it lists all the different features you can set up besides Email Accounts) does not idicate (with a (1) next to it), that an email account has already been set up. When I try to compose an email, I get the message 'No message services configured. You will be redirected to the Setup Wizard to set up your email account'. If I click ok to follow this direction, it brings me to the Email accounts screen that shows the already created Yahoo email account. If I try to create the yahoo account again, I get the message that 'This account has already been added to your BlackBerry Internet Service'. But obviously my yahoo email account does not work because I cannot write or receive messages. According to your KB05000 post, I did delete my yahoo email account [CMIME] in the service book, but I noticed there is a second Internet Service service book for my yahoo email account that ends with [CICAL]. I wonder whether this has anything to do with it and whether I should delete this as well? Many thanks in advance.Jens

Thanks John, I resent it and i got the message that it was successfully resent. However, when I check in the Service Book section, there is no yahoo.com [CMIME] there, even after doing a hard shut down (taking out the battery) and starting up again. But the yahoo.com [CICAL] is still there. What's the difference between CMIME and CICAL anyways? Thanks, Jens

  • Yahoo email not working with 8.1.1

I upgraded to iOS 8.1.1 this morning on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.  Since then neither has been able to get any new mail from Yahoo.  Is there a problem with this upgrade and Yahoo email?  I've received lots of mail today, just not on my iPhone/iPad.
I've also got to say I've had more issues with my iPhone 6 and iOS 8 than I ever had with my iPhone 5 and the various versions of iOS it had.  Probably the most annoying complaint is that I see 3G A LOT more than I did with my 5, and I'm in Verizon LTE coverage areas most of the time.  For a bigger phone, it either has a smaller antenna - or a not very good one.
    Andre

Hey, i had the same problem, have you tried with this settings ?
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 995 SSL)
Outgoing (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 465 SSL)
Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail name in lowercase (your address without the "@yahoo.com"). ( in this case i put with @yahoo.com)
    it worked for my iPhone
    Hope it help
    Bye.

  • I can't set up one particular Yahoo email account but other Yahoo email accounts work fine.

When I try to add one of my Yahoo email accounts to my iPhone it says "Server Unavailable Please try again later".  But I am able to log in to this Yahoo email account successfully from my iMac via Safari and I am also able to add other Yahoo email accounts to the iPhone.  It's an iPhone 4 that was just migrated from iPhone 3GS.  I've tried both on an iPhone 4 and 4S. It worked fine on the previous iPhone 3GS.
    Please help!

Choose a slighly different name for the "Name" field, and try to add your Email and Password again.

  • Yahoo email not working

    hi.
My Yahoo email account has stopped working on my iPad. I have deleted the account and reinstalled it but still no joy. My email works fine on my Mac and iPhone ok.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

Usually uninstalling and readding the info takes care of it.
It could just be a glitch with yahoo. Several people have short term issues with their yahoo mail not working.
are you trying to access it on the same wifi as usual? I had an issue where my yahoo will not work if i try to access it on various wifi hotspots and it has to do with the protocols on the access point.
I'd give it a few hours and see if it resolves itself.

  • Yahoo email not working on ios6

I have several email accounts on my 4S phone - gmail, exchange, and yahoo.  Gmail and exchange work fine.  Yahoo will not load any new messages and gives me a 'server connection error'.  However, I can start a new email and send it from my yahoo email account.  The phone just never loads new messages.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?  I've turned the phone on and off and also re-entered my mail password in settings.

    I have the same problem.

  • Yahoo email not working suddenly.

For the past 2 days, my Yahoo email account is not working. Up until then, I was able to receive my 2 Hotmail accounts and my Yahoo account without any problems. I tried deleting the Yahoo account, but now if I try to add it back in as Yahoo, it says that there is already an account with that name and won't let me. If I add it in as just a generic mail account, it thinks it's working, but it's really not. I'll receive a notification of new emails, but when I try to open the mail account, the Yahoo one is nowhere to be found. If I change it to show just the Yahoo, I get a blank screen.  I also tried adding the Yahoo app from the market, but I really don't like that one as it takes more steps to get to the mail, and also to delete unwanted messages.  I just want my mail back to the way it was!!  Can anyone help me???
    Thanks!

  • HT201320 Is  some of yahoo email not working  on apple products ?

My Yahoo  email is not working on ipad and iphone.

I have two yahoo accounts and I randomly have them mess up on my computer, both at work and home. ANd it's all on Yahoo's end. It's supposed to delete and go to the next mail, but sometimes it randomly puts me back in the main mail list. Sometimes it won't delete at all, other times I can't access it....just exceedingly inconsistent.
IMHO, they're trying to bring so much into it to make it a communication hub, but it's just interfacing with too much and can't keep up.
The long and short, if your yahoo mail is malfunctioning, chances are it's on their end so users just have to wait it out or find work arounds....such as using the yahoo app or accessing the webmail via safari if the mail app isn't working.

  • Iphone 6 plus wont allow yahoo email to work nor update

I have several email accounts I use with my iphone 6+ and I realized I hadn't been receiving emails from one of the yahoo accounts, I signed in on my imac (and I can on my ipad as well) and I had missed about 10 days of emails.  I can send emails from it but cannot receive with it.  When I open account it doesn't show any "inbox" or "saved" or past "sent" emails, etc.  I've read on this site to delete the account and re-add it.  I've done that several times. I've changed the password, I've tried everything I can think of.  Also the account shows updated "Nov. 30, 2014" and despite deleting and re-adding the yahoo email account it never shows current, always Nov. 30th? I added a Yahoo App and I can access my Yahoo email via that, but I can't use it on the iphone as the default email.  I've checked for the ios update, I am current, I've backed up the iphone on itunes.  I've re-booted the iphone, simply put this iphone wont recognize this mail account. Other Yahoo emails continue to work fine on this same iphone, but not my primary email account.  HELP!

    Try this fix.
-->>you'll need a computer to log in to you yahoo! mail.
-->>after logging in with you username and password (computer) on the top right you'll see "Hello (your name)" CLICK ON IT
-->>on the left panel you'll see "account security" CLICK ON IT
-->>check iF you have  "Two-step verification  Additional security." TURNED ON
    HERE'S THE PART TO FIX:
if you switch it OFF you can set up your yahoo mail on apple device with no prob.
if you switch it ON yahoo will generate a ONE TIME PASSWORD for your device set up. (this adds additional security to your phone)
*I highly recommend you do the ON option
    to set it ON:
    -->> switch the ON for Two-step verification/
-->>have a nickname for your device ex "mike iphone5"
    -->>click "generate password"
-->>a long password of random letters will pop (this password will be the password when you set up your email on your ios device)
*it is to be used one time only.
-->>go to your device set email as usual.. then for the password use the long password yahoo provided.
    THAT'S IT! HOPE IT HELP!
!!!! DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE START I THIS HELPED YOU TO HELP OTHER USERS TOO.

  • My bt yahoo email stopped working?

it says incorrect password and takes me to settings but password is corrrect and bt yahoo email works fine on my windows laptop

Hi see me response (in another category, but exactly the same as you have).
    Its fixed now!
    Hi,
having just upgraded my iPhone 4 to 6.1.3 two days ago and after reading James Ward's comments on BT Yahoo Mail (all bets are off), I thought I was truly doomed.
I tried umpteen manual configuration changes and also deleted the Yahoo mail Account I had on my phone.
BTW, I have a "[email protected]" email address.
I was also able to login with same username/password as above to the BT Yahoo mail on the Web just fine and see all my emails, so it was just through the Mail App on my iPhone I had the problem (and only after the upgrade to 6.1.3)
At various points I had the following error messages:
    Error message 1
    ============
The IMAP Server apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com is not responding.
    Check network connection.
    Check "Incoming Mail Server" field.
    Error message 2
    ============
    The Operation couldn't be completed.
    (MFMessageErrorDomain error 1032)
    Error message 3
    =============
    Server unavailable
    Please try again later.
    So after 2 calls from Apple (yes they called me, no cost), I have it working;
Here are the settings I did:
    POP account Information
    name, email as above
    Incoming Mail Server
    host name: mail.btinternet.com
    username: email as above
    password: password
    Outgoing Mail Server
    SMTP: mail.btinternet.com
(selecting the Outgoing Mail Server above...)
    Primary Server: mail.btinternet.com (ON)
(selecting the Primary mail Server above...)
    Server (ON)
    Hostname: mail.btinternet.com
    Username: email as above
    password: password
    Use SSL (OFF)
    Authentication: password (ticked)
    Server Port: 25
Go back to main Account screen
Select your Btopenworld account just created
    scroll down and select Advanced
    Use SSL (OFF)
    Authentication: password (ticked)
    Server Port 110
    S/MIME: OFF
After I did that and I opened up my mail app, it synced and downloaded all my emails!! :-)
    Nothing lost.
Thanks to Apple for their help.

  • What is Apple doing about Yahoo Email not working?

It's been 2 weeks. What is Apple doing about the clear fact that Yahoo email is not working? It's becoming unacceptable.
As a Blackberry convert, I was sold when Steve J said that Yahoo would "push" like a Blackberry for free. It does not work. I have an older yahoo account and it still does not send email from the iphone (trying the spam thingy doesn't even work with my yahoo). Incoming emails are intermittent.
Has anyone received information that attests to the fact that Apple is at least aware and addressing the problem?
    Thanks!

Free. I have an older yahoo account (few years old) and it syncs imap just fine and I receive emails fine but not always at push speed. I also cannot send an email from my yahoo on my iphone. It looks like it sends it by the bar and the sounds but nothing in the sent box nor nothing received on the other end. I tried making a new yahoo id to try it and it worked for a while and now that one wont send either. The forums have multiple folks with the same issue. One resolution was sending an email from the yahoo web interface because it has you fill out a "captchca" spam thing and then seems to work again. On my yahoo id, I never even get the captchca. VERY FRUSTRATING. I want this to work but it doesn't. I've resorted to GMail only but it's not what's advertised and being used to the Blackberry this is a dealbreaker. I just want to know that Apple/Yahoo is aware of the issue and that it will be fixed.
