Yahoo email settings 8900

I'm not sure what I did, but a setting has been changed. When I go through the Yahoo icon on the phone, it only shows the emails I got through the 1st of Feb? What should I do to get my new emails to appear. The alert settings for that email account have been set up with a tone and everything, like texts, just no new email messages show up? Thanks

If you are in the email list, press N to go to the next day, or P for the previous.

    I lost all of my Contacts in my COMPUTER for my Yahoo email account; I then looked through my iPhone to see what my email settings showed and it showed my Contacts were turned "Off".     You only turn that off if you have very sensitive operations and data that cannot be corrupted by power loss or serious loss incurs. Mainly server operations and database files.

  • My facebook profile photo shows up on an email to a friend who has a yahoo email address, but is not my Facebook friend. All my FB privacy settings are at the max. Is this a Yahoo privacy issue? I don't want my photo to go to other than FB friends.

    I recently sent an email to a friend, who is NOT a Facebook friend, who has a yahoo email account, and my Facebook profile picture appeared next to the email. My privacy settings on FB only allow FB friends to see my photo. Why is another yahoo account that is not a FB friend seeing my profile photo and is there a Yahoo privacy setting that will eliminate this from happening? Thank you.

    Did you check that your Facebook settings haven't changed?
    Facebook may have changed them as part of a software update.
    Is there a link in that email (signature) with a link to that picture?

  • Yahoo Email and Calendar will sync to my iPhone, but Contacts will not.  Selection for "Default Account" doesn't even show in the Contacts section within Settings on the iPhone.

    I have always had my Yahoo Email, Calendar and Contacts synched to my iPhone.  However, I noticed some Contacts weren't synching from the Yahoo account to my iPhone, so I thought if I just deleted the Yahoo account and added it back, I'd be fine.  That worked fine for my Email and Calendar, but now I have NO Contacts from Yahoo on my iPhone.  When I go to Settings, under Contacts, it doesn't even have the option for 'Default Account.'  Help!

    It's not clear exactly what you're trying to accomplish here.  If you're wanting to set up SMS forwarding introduced in iOS 8, then please follow the directions below.  Also, your Apple ID should be an email address.
    To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
    Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
    Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
    On your iPhone:
    Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
    Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
    Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.

Now I have double contacts for everyone with an email address!!! how do I UNDO? it says all CONTACTS WILL BE DELETED...when I go to turn CONTACTS to OFF.

    Any contacts synced with the Yahoo account will be deleted from the phone if you turn it off. They will still be out there in Yahoo land, so if you turn it off and it deletes something you didn't want to, just turn it back on again.
    It's extremely unclear what you did when you say " I only created contacts and typed in emails that I had for those contacts.....so I am still not sure how to UNdo what I did without deleting anything"

    Just turn it off.

  • Under Settings, then to Yahoo mail, I tapped the "Reset All Accounts" button, now I can't access my Yahoo email. What do I do to get my email back to the way it was?

    I tapped the "Reset All Accounts" button under settings (Yahoo Mail). Now, I can't access my (Yahoo) email from my iPhone.  How do I re-set to the way it was?

    If it still shows up under your accounts you would want to tap on it and then tap on the email address. You should see the option to sign out, do so and then re-add the account by hitting add account from settings> Mail contacts and calendars.
    If the accounts are not on the device start at re-adding the accounts.
    If you need the server settings you will need to contact Yahoo.

  • I am having a problem accessing my Yahoo email account.  It keeps saying, cannot get mail, the connection to the server failed.  Then I put my email in settings and it works but this happens constantly.  Anyone having this problem?

    My Yahoo email asks me daily for my email password or says the connection to the server failed.  Is anyone having this problem currently?  I noticed old messages in chat mentioned the same problem.  I get into my Yahoo email fine on my desktop computer for several weeks without re entering a password.  But the IPad does not seem to be connecting daily with Yahoo without putting a password in again. 

    So, I didn't change anything and now it is working better. I still get the odd error though.
    I have a feeling this has something to do with the SSL update Apple released and it was their server side.

  • Help - really stuck - Yahoo email invalid

    I've had my new Balckberry 8900 for a week now and no matter what I try I cannot get my email account set up on it which is driving me mad now.
    I have a very basic yahoo.co.uk email account with lower case password - could not be easier. When I go to Email settings in the Set Up applications and add my existing email account to my Blackberry device I get the following error message every time,
    "Invalid email address or password. Please verify your email address or password. The information you provided is incorrect. If the error persists contact yahoo.co.uk. Please try again"
    I've checked with yahoo and there is no issue their end, and I've checked the password and user name for case sensitivity and everything is fine. Not sure what to do. Any ideas?

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    Sometimes, configuring from the device interface just doesn't work...no reason, just doesn't. Using the PC/website interface can usually overcome that problem. From a PC, log into your BIS account here:

    Create a new BIS account (not an @bb email address!) and association your PIN to the credentials.
    Configure your email inside of that web interface.
    Be sure to know exactly the credentials you create -- you will need to now use them on your BB. But, there is a ticbox to check for it to remember the credentials, so you will only have to enter them on the BB one time.

  • Yahoo email problem?

    Hi - I have a Curve 8900 running v4.6.1.231
    I am on an Enterprise Data plan, with emails synched up to both my office outlook email, and my personal yahoo email.  At around 11:30 yesterday, my yahoo email stopped sending/receiving/synching with my BB, but my office outlook email is working fine.
    I tried to go into Email setup with the setup wizard, to see if maybe I had to delete and re-add my yahoo email account, but after about 60 seconds with a load message "connecting to email settings" I got a message that said "Your devide had a problem connecting to the server" with retry and cancel button - I retried with no avail.
    Not the most tech savvy person here, but was wondering if this is a problem on my end?  Or something on the BB side?  Any ideas on how to correct would be most appreciated!

    Hmmm...that's a choice you will have to make. Here's why...when you use the PC/Web interface to BIS, you must create credentials for your BIS account so that, when you log in via PC/Web, it can authenticate you to the proper BIS account. Credentials aren't needed via the device interface to BIS since you are connecting from the device. But, once you use the PC/Web interface and create credentials, you will also have to thereafter also use them on the BB itself. But, it should offer you a "remember me" checkbox so that you only have to enter those credentials on the BB the first time you use it after creating the credentials.
    Honestly, if you don't think you'll ever again want to connect to your BIS account via PC/Web, then you are probably just as well now calling your carrier. They can just as well send the Service Books (once you get through their call queue, of course!).

  • Cannot send mail from yahoo email account.

    I recently developed a problem with sending messages through the ipad mail app. The primary server is Yahoo! SMTP Server with the SSL use on and port 465 open. However the hostname isn't specific. Just says "Yahoo! SMTP Server". I can't access it to change it so I made a second one below it as outbound.att.net because on AT&T website they changed the smtp settings. The outgoing mail port # is still the same...465 and I read online to change to 25 if the account is a business yahoo email but mine isn't and the ipad froze on me while attempt to verify. Can someone help me sort this out? I only have this issue when I'm on the actual data plan and I'm on the go.

    Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
    Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password.  On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
    See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
    Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.

    I'm having major problems with my yahoo email in Mail. No matter what settings i seem to use, any emails i send take hours and hours to arrive. I seem to be receiving email, but cannot send- sometimes i get an error message, other times they go into sent box but take hours or days to arrive. i'm using a brand new imac version 10.5.2

    If you’re sure your settings are exactly the same as on the computers where it works, here a couple of things that you may want to look at.
    Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
    Also, try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible, i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc., and see whether that makes a difference.
    Mail keeps information about outgoing servers in a separate list, independently of any specific mail account. The account settings just associate one of the available outgoing servers with each account. Orphaned or dangling outgoing server entries (i.e. not associated with any account) sometimes cause weird sending problems.
    Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), choose Edit Server List from the popup menu, and delete any servers that shouldn’t be there. The Edit Server List panel shows the account each outgoing server is associated with.

  • I have a 'family' yahoo email address which is shared across several phones. How can I set up my phone so if I delete an email which isn't relevant to me it doesn't automatically delete from the other phones?

    I share a yahoo email account with my husband and children. The emails may be for one or more or of us. When an email arrives on my iPhone 5C, if it is not relevant to me (because it's something he is dealing with) then I would like to delete it just from my phone without also deleting from his phone. Or it may be an attachment like a photo which I don't need stored on my phone, but will need to download when I get home and on the PC. He can delete from his Samsung without it deleting on my phone or on the PC, but I've not found a way of setting up my phone so it works the same way. Please can someone tell me which are the best settings to use?

    To set it up as POP you need to delete the account, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds), then add it back following these instructions: Forcing creation of a POP or IMAP email account
    I understand that you have used the same account for many years, but the technology is also changing constantly. Years ago the standard was POP (Post Office Protocol), which was designed at a time when it was inconceivable that anyone would access their email from more than one device. When people started using multiple devices, for the most part they wanted to see changes on one device mirrored on another. A new standard, IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) was developed. With iMAP the master copy of all messages resides on a server, and multiple devices are kept in sync with the server. So if you delete a message from one device it is removed from the server, and then removed from all other devices when they next sync. This is the same way Microsoft Exchange works. Other benefits of IMAP include the ability to have multiple mail folders that are kept in sync across devices. In your case you could use this to create a separate folder for each family member, so they could move messages to their own folder and not clutter up the shared Inbox. Most computer mail readers can even automatically sort incoming mail into folders based on the contents of the message.
    IMAP is considered a "higher level" standard than POP. When you create a mail account iOS devices query the server and ask what it supports; if it says it supports IMAP then the account is automatically configured for IMAP. So if you really want POP you must fool it, as described in the link above. In my experience Android devices default to the highest level protocol also, and I suspect newer Blackberries do (although it has been 15 years since I used a BB).

    What is causing this and how can I get rid of it?
    I am actually asking for my daughter.  This has been going on for a long time and I am stumped.  I have gone into both Yahoo email and Safari preferences and can find no reason for this happening.

    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • How do I get back my original Yahoo email format?

    Last month, my Yahoo email stopped coming in from the server on my iPad.  A friend fixed it.  I was playing
    Klondike Solitaire, and suddenly the screen turned sideways and would not move.  I went to General
    Settings and tapped on something like "restore to original settings."  Immediately, the screen righted
    itself, BUT!  New emails again stopped coming in.  Apple Tech Support tried various things including
    changing password, but nothing helped.  I want my email back, as it is received.  Does anyone have

    According to the specs, there is a trial version of Norton antivirus and other subscription based services, games, Netflix, office 365 pre installed. There are also few other multimedia softwares that were pre installed, which you can get from here:

    But rest I think you might have downloaded it later on to your system.
    You can do recovery using HP recovery manager software or using the recovery disc/USB you ought must have created after you setup your machine for the first time. Recovering to factory settings would reinstall everything that came with your laptop exactly for MS Office trial version.
