Yahoo emails being deleted

I have a yahoo email account syncd with my iPhone 4s and iPad. After a few days my emails are being deleted automatically. I have checked my settings and they are all set to delete "never" so how can this be. I have spoke to yahoo and they say it's a problem with my iPhone or iPad settings and apple say they are fine. Please help - I am losing very Important emails

+1. I have Mail synched with Yahoo and sometimes lose emails. The problem is intermittent so hard to pin down. But it seems to be happening more often. Now, each week I am losing some emails permanently when I move them out of my Inbox in Mail on my MacBook Pro to another folder. I think but am not sure the mails only get lost when I get a sync error message (asking for my password again) when quitting mail. The syncing between Mail and Yahoo seems flacky at best. Today I have lost two critical work emails. I cannot continue with this unreliable set up and need to find a solution.

Issue with emails being deleted from my Yahoo mail folders

Hi, I am experiencing an issue where emails are being deleted from my Yahoo mail folders when the weekly Sunday night purge of the Yahoo Trash folder is carried out by Yahoo. These are mails that have been moved from my inbox via the iphone mail app.
I have a similar problem with Outlook 2010 on my laptop but not with Outlook 2003 on my desktop.
When I move the emails from my inbox I have noticed that using Outlook 2003, the moved email is left in my inbox in "strikethrough" mode whereas on Outlook 2010 it is deleted from my inbox. I subsequently purge the marked email from my inbox in 2003.
I am able to see and access the emails in the folder I have moved them to until after midnight on Sunday when they dissappear. The emails moved via 2003 are ok and not lost.
Funnily enough when using an earlier version of the iphone mail app I remember that I could see emails in "strikethrough" mode in Outlook 2003 when they had been moved via the iPhone mail app but you don't see that now.
It feels like some sort of pointer issue to me ...... any ideas on how to stop this happening?.

I reported the problem to Yahoo and in the process of them investigating the issue my sub-folders suddenly became invisible via my IMAP connection and then also were invisible on-line following a log out and a log in. After my initial panic, I contacted Yahoo who were able to restore my complete account. Since then, the problem has gone away.
I have been testing this for two weeks and all is working perfectly from whatever device I use to connect to my mail (IMAP or via my browser).

Yahoo email not deleting on Z10

My emails are deleting from my Z10 but then I have to go to my yahoo email account and delete them also, What I want to is to able to delete them from my Z10 and my yahoo email at the same time. I called support and they told me to delete my email account then set it up again making sure that everythign was synced. Did that, but it does not work.
Any sugestions.

When you delete an email from the Z10, do you get the option "Delete from Hub and Server". If not, at some stage you must have selected "Always perform this Action. Don't show again".
You may have to do a security wipe to get it back again.

Emails from my Inbox are automatically moved to my Deleted box, after so many hours in my Inbox. How do I stop this happening please?

Does this occur if you download mail and then go into 'offline' mode to read emails?
Test by using 'offline' mode - remain in offline mode for longer than it usually takes for the auto move to deleted folder.
Need to ascertain whether Thunderbird is doing this or whether it is occuring on the server and TB is just coping the server.
Use webmail to check that those messages are not being moved on the server and Thunderbird is just synching with server and copying what is there.
check there are no filters or options in webmail account to filter/delete etc emails in Inbox.

Emails being deleted from my inbox

My iphone mailbox is randomly being deleted from my iphone. My yahoo account on my pc is not affected but I think the deletion may happen when I access my yahoo account on my pc (thankfully its not being deleted here!). I view my yahoo account on my pc via outlook. Can anyone help?

Your PC is set up to access your e-mail using POP3 instead of IMAP. POP3 deletes messages from the server after downloading them by default. Change the e-mail client on your PC to IMAP instead of POP3.
This is not a problem with the phone.

Why are my inbox emails being deleted

I've looked at related posts but none seem to solve this problem: Inbox emails are automatically being deleted. Occasionally a "inbox folder is full" message briefly appears, but before any action can be taken, the emails disappear. Repairing the folder doesn't work and no settings have changed. Recent messages still appear on webmail (Cox). Retention settings are set not to delete mail, and server settings are set to leave messages on server until I delete them.

How to stop yahoo email from deleting on my computer when I delete it from my iPhone?

When I delete my Yahoo email from my iPhone 4s it also deletes it off of my Yahoo email on my computer. What is the fix for this? I set the email to on the iPhone to never delete but it still deletes.

That's the way Yahoo email is supposed to work. It keeps your computer, web mail and iPhone in sync. The only option is to set up Yahoo as a POP3 account, but there you will have to delete everything twice, once on the phone and once on your computer or webmail.

Outlook 2013/ Windows 8 emails being deleted

I was away from my laptop (accessing email via iPad & iPhone) for a week in June after installing the new Outlook. I save certain important emails (bills/things I haven't read yet, etc.) in my inbox. When hundreds of new emails came in
that week, all the old emails were deleted & can't be found anywhere to be retrieved. I could still access them on google mail online, but didn't remember every one that I had saved. My previous organization was impossible to retrieve there.
I recently returned from a 2-week trip where, of course, thousands of emails came in to my laptop at home. I accessed all emails on my iPad while I was away. Since so many came in I only got about 8 days' worth of email downloaded into Outlook.
And of course all my older emails I had been saving are gone again...not able to be found anywhere. If I had not moved them into specific folders, they are gone. Any suggestions to prevent this in the future? Settings? Ways to
get these lost emails? No search (even in deleted or spam folders) show these missing emails.

First thing to confirm is which mail account type are you using? Can you still view old messages from web-access?
You can check the steps below:
1. Check if you have created rules to automatically delete or move mails.
2. Check if you have enabled AutoArchive and have set it to automatically delete expired emails.
If you have enabled AutoArchive, to get the lost emails, search archive.pst or *.PST in the local drive.
For Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 on Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 the default location is:
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files\
If you have multiple pst-files you can get an overview via:
File-> Account Settings-> Account Settings-> tab Data Files
Import Outlook items from pst-file to check the result:

Assuming you are using IMAP account, to make sure you don’t lose any of data, you’ll need to create backups of your IMAP pst-file or regularly export the folders:

When I delete messages on my iPhone they are also being deleted from the server

This is normal and expected for IMAP and Exchange accounts. For POP accounts, try:
Settings > Mail... > (your account) > Advanced > Incoming Settings > Delete from server > Never
However, this doesn't work with all POP servers and risks re-downloading deleted mail on your phone.

Moved email being deleted on Ipad1

When i move an email from my inbox to another folder the email is deleted,WHY? Really is a pain and don't know how to recover them. Is there a setting that has to be changed on my iPad to stop this.

You don't need to lose the mails, just do a backup of your mail on your Mac before changing to IMAP. I'm surprised ticking the keep mail on the server option didn't work though, certainly does on Outlook 2010 on Windows.
Edit: You could always create a second account in Outlook configured as IMAP rather than delete the POP3 account. Just set the POP3 account to not check for new mail, then all new mail will appear on the IMAP version of the account and historical mail remain on the POP3 version.

Emails being deleted automatically?

I have a user on our network that is experiencing a strange issue with her GW account. There are no rules set, and all of her receiving settings appear to be okay, as far as I can tell. However, when she receives emails, they get automatically pushed to her trash after about a half an hour. Originally, they were all just going straight to her trash and not even going to the mailbox. I disabled junk mail handling and returned the automatic delete options to default settings, but they are still being sent to the trash after 20 to 30 minutes. I am at a loss, has anyone else experienced this?

Does this problem happen when her PC is off? (Or at least no GW/Notify
running) Monitor through Webaccess or logged in at another PC?
A) check for viruses as I have seen some that do delete email
B) run a GWCheck contents against her account to make sure there isn't a
problem at that level

Email being deleted from server

When I delete a message from the inbox on my iphone it gets removed from the mail server (I use Yahoo bizmail). So, If I delete a message from my iphone before checking the mail on my mac I don't get the mail on the mac.
I've tried deleteing and restoring the mail account on the iPhone. I tried an IMAP account on the iPhone. I have DELETE MAiL set to NEVER in mail settings. I restored the software on the iPhone and started new. None of that worked.
Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Im kind of having a different email problem. Not all emails load to my phone and when I view and delete them, my hotmail account doesnt even realize Ive logged in. Everything stays as though I havent been there and new emails pile up.

Firefox doesn't delete your emails, it's a web browser, not an Email provider. Contact your Email provider (yahoo, gmail, aol, etc.)

Why is all of my email being deleted from the server?

I am using an iPad Air 2, iOS version 8.1.2 (still have to perform the current update). When I download email from my ISP, Comcast, it gets deleted from their server. This never happened with my 2nd Generation iPad.
I go to settings>Mail>accounts>advanced - and under the Incoming settings, I don't have an option for "delete from server" where I am supposed to select "never". Instead, it has "IMAP Path Prefix / "
How do I fix this so my email stays on the server? I like to check my email using my ipad and iphone, but I prefer saving it on my desktop PC but I can't do this because when my email is downloaded into the ipad, it gets deleted from Comcast's servers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, it had to do with Comcast, not the iPad. The default for Comcast is IMAP, and that is based on the information they have available when the account goes into verification. It verifies an IMAP account, and since you have not migrated to the IMAP account, you were having problems. It isn't something anyone can fix, except you. It would not ask you at the beginning if you wanted IMAP or POP, it has to do with the mail provider's verification settings, which is a Comcast issue, but because they are providing IMAP now, it defaults to that. If you are still using POP, you have to force the mail app to get there, which is what I provided you the instructions for. Apple is not going to fix anything, because there is nothing for them to fix.
Either way, you got it fixed and that is all it takes. As a Comcast customer, I was aware of this, since I had migrated to IMAP already.

Why are my emails being deleted since I've updated to ios7? And how do I stop this?

Good old ios7 has taken away the ability to know how many emails you want to store I.e. 25, 50, 200 etc. It also takes it upon itself to just delete emails whenever it fanices. I'm not talking about confirming deletes once you've pressed the trash can icon, I'm talking about just deleting it itself when it wants. Can you please tell me how to stop this auto deleting and how to store more emails? Thank you.

This will occur when you share an apple id with someone.
ON each devices go to settings - mail - send&receive- remove or uncheck the apple id.
