  • Install sdk crash with window xp, + yahoo game problems

    Hi all,
Currently, I have install java sdk, version 1.4.1_02 into two computers, which using Chinese Window XP, before installing sdk, windows act normally.
    1. However, after the installation of java, some interface in windows, especially the toolbar of 'Start', the mouse cursor and some interface keep on flashing.
    2. I would like to know if those games in yahoo are written by using java, if so, I would like to know why even I using chinese version xp still cannot view they become some random characters) those chinese words in the games.
    3. Last question, I would like to know why, when I use a application to write chinese character (those pen -write device), the focus seems go entirely to that application and cannot go back that text field in the yahoo game again?(unless I close that application)

Your gonna have to e-mail Yahoo about the last question 2 questions. This forum is about developing games, not technical support of others games. Oh, and there is a forum here specific for SDK installation issues. Try a search for your question there:

So here is what comes to pass.
Recall this started as a Lion Safari/5+ environment that SU took to version 6.
Two weeks ago I just updated Flash Player. Today I fire up Java Preferences and I am told that I need to download Java. Did so, intentionally hit the "factory reset" button and then installed the Flash Player from teh Adobe site. The most recent install suggests automatic update but I choose "ask first."
Restart Safari and we seem to be in order
    Thanks

  • How can I get rid of a vertical ad section in Yahoo games that has popped up on the right and takes 30% of the game window away. I can't get rid of it.

A few days ago, Yahoo decided to put up a vertical section on the right side of the game window that takes up 30% of the screen in the game. I have not been able to get rid of it.
I asked the Yahoo Customer Care rep and she said that it is not supposed to happen as the game should not be stopped by the ads and that I should try with another Browser. I tried it with Chrome and that ad section was not there with Chrome.
I was told that it was probably a browser issue and I did disable most of the add-ons and plug-ins but it did not work.
Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of that vertical ad section?

This problem is not a pop-up. First of all the problem did not start until Yahoo changed their set up for ads in Yahoo Games.
Once it did start, the ads do not "pop-up", it is a vertical bar that is there all the time. You cannot get rid of it.
By the same token, it is not a Yahoo Problem since the problem does not exist using another server.
Yahoo says it has to do with some add-ons or plug-ins in Firefox that is causing the problem.
As you can see by the screen picture, one third of the game screen has a vertical ad area. I want to get rid of it.

  • Java/font/yahoo games

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Tiger.
Now, when I go to Yahoo Games (specifically Word Racer) the font that is used in the java window that opens is unreadable. Previously, (on Panther) the only browser that would display it clearly was Opera, but now it is the same in any browser that I have tried. (Safari, IE, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Omniweb, iCab).
    Anyone know how to remedy?
    Need my Word Racer fix!
Maybe I'll just switch to decaf and see if that helps......
    Thanks,
    Rex

We have the same problem in literati. Explorer 5.2 on the old G 3 I-mac is the only browser that works. If safari doesn't work maybe we could call Bill and beg. Our new intel i-mac will not run explorer 5.2.

It's unclear if the problems discussed happen after OJC compiles, or Javac compiles, or both. We have uncovered a bug in the compilation of jspx files using OJC. There is a chance that this bug fix will fix the problems mentioned. Email me at keimpe.bronkhorst AT oracle.com if you want to try out a patched OJC. This is not an OJVM fix, so if you compile with Javac, I can't help you at this time.

  • Yahoo games

Please can someone help me with this problem. Ive been playing in yahoo games for a while and recently yahoo have put a code box you have to enter a code in order to get into the games lobby, but when i do this the same page keeps coming up again and again. Ive try'd everything too fix this, ive got a new browser, cleared cache, deleted cookies. ive been told its something too do with my firewall not letting me into yahoo games. i have no idea how too fix this and i want too play pool. Please help me.

That means that the page you loaded has a Java component; the coffee cup should disappear as soon as the Java applet has properly loaded. If it doesn't disappear after a few minutes, the applet may be having trouble operating.

  • Upgraded Java: Yahoo games won't load

Just upgraded to the very latest Java (JRE-7U51) and each time I try to play an online Yahoo game, I get the following message:
    Application Blocked by Security Settings
    Name       ygames_applet
    Location   http://yog34.games.sp2.yahoo.com
Your security settings have blocked an untrusted application from running
I've uninstalled it and re-installed it, but it's the same thing each time.  Anyone know what I can do about this?

    Roger Barre
Sorry to hear you are experiencing this problem with Java. As for Java, avoid the new update (Java 7 Update 51). You can uninstall Java and then revert back to the last working version (Java 7 update 45) to get apps that use java working again.
I would suggest and I hope my post won't get taken down from Apple for advertising. Google "AppCleaner" a Mac must have! Use this utility to remove java and all of it's component files from your Mac. You can then revert to the last working version of java by running the JRE-U45 installer.

  • Fatal Plug-in Error / Yahoo Games

I use Windows XP Home SP2. When attempting to sign into any Yahoo game room, I get the following: "JAVA (TM) Fatal Error. The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded." A second attempt to sign in results in "Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error." Anyone have a clue as to what I can do? I can no longer enter ANY Yahoo game room. This has happened with JRE version 1.6.0 (build 1.6.0_02-b05) and (build 1.6.0_02-b06).

I tried on Mozilla Firefox and same problem. As I research the www, I see many have encountered the same problem, regardless of version of Java or operating system. It just seems to be an unexplainable bug. Some have offered "fixes" that worked for them, but they have failed for me. Grrrrrrrrrrr! ie. Start>Control Panel>Java>Java Applet Runtime Settings>Java Runtime Parameters...set parameter to 1/2 or 3/4 of RAM. Setting mine to 1/2 continued to fail 100% of time. Setting to 3/4 of RAM gave me entrance to the lobby to chat, but when I tried to start a game table I was promptly booted from the lobby!

  • I can't download yahoo games. when i do i get a page saying "unknown publisher" won't open

Can't download yahoo games. The Oberon company tells me it is either my windows firewall or my microsoft anti virus.  What can I do to resolve this problem?  Some games do make it through but only a few.   Thanks for the help.

    Hi PonyBoy,
When you see the "unknown" Publisher, does it give you the chance to Click and allow the program to run?  If so, then Click Yes (or some form of the affirmative).
If there is no question of the type described (no chance to download / run the program),
    THEN
You can adjust the settings in Windows Firewall to ask you before blocking new programs.  It can become a pain to answer all the time, so use this setting when you need it and then switch back to normal blocking.
You may need to have administrative control to change the settings - if the settings won't change for you, log in using an account that has Admin rights.
The settings are outlined in this help file:
    Understanding Windows Firewall settings
    The setting you will use:
"Notify me when Windows Firewall blocks a new program" "If you select this check box, Windows Firewall will inform you when it blocks a new program and give you the option of unblocking that program."
    NOTE:
If you are in a Public place (not at home, and not in a safe environment), the Public settings are more restrictive to better protect your computer.  You can change the settings, but you do open your computer to other "nasties" out there - Open /  Change the settings for Public at your own risk.
You didn't say anything about another (non-Microsoft) kind of AV software you might have...
If you have another (additional) Anti-Virus on your computer, there should be rules you can use to change the way incoming traffic is handled.  If you have Norton, it will block things that you've never heard of, it will lock up your computer, it will misbehave.  Nothing can be done about Norton, IMO.  You need a good Anti-Virus program to protect your computer - invest some time and find a decent program.  Avast, AVG (both have free versions), and even Kapersky (pricey and inelegant), are better than Norton.  If Norton is all you have and all you can get - keep it - it's better than nothing and will do some good.
    I hope this helps.
