Yahoo groups notification moderate email, attachments missing

i am a moderator of a Yahoo! Group that has moderated posts. every time that someone posts a message, i receive an email from Yahoo! Groups Notification with the subject line MODERATE -- ...
in the email, it states that "A complete copy of this message has been attached for your convenience." when i view this email using Mail on MacOS, the attachment shows up automatically at the bottom of the email. when i view this email using Mail on iOS (iPhone and iPad), there is no attachment at all! instead, i see a string of characters, like YQ8QuDbOYCsidmZ4.....  it has been this way for nearly every post's email. (occasionally, the person's post actually shows in iOS if they are posting a response to a post. but never in an original thread.)
is there any way to get Mail for iOS to show these attachment? they're most often just text, but i have no idea how Yahoo! Groups encodes them.

I receive my voicemail messages as wav file attachments and it's been working fine up until the 20th of October. Now, if I check my mail online, the attachment shows. But if I check it through Mail, there's no attachment. Looking at the raw source, it looks like mail is trying to format the attachment and gets it wrong. I don't know of a fix, unfortunately.

  • HELP ... Not receiving email messages from particular Yahoo Group

    Ever since the evening of 3/26 every member of my Yahoo Group with an email address from Comcast.net has not been able to reliably receive messages from the group. Out of over 40 emails since then, we've received 4 (2 on 4/1 and 2 this morning). There are no error messages involved, there are just no emails in our inboxes. Yahoo does not indicate that any of the messages have "bounced". The messages are not in my spam folder (in fact, the first Comcast "helper" i worked with had me turn off the spam filter in Comcast,net) Oddly, I (and the others) can receive messages from other Yahoo Groups that we are members of, just not ours: SoundOfNewEngland I was on the phone with Comcast for 2.5 HOURS on 4/3 and was basically told that since I could receive a test message from Comcast that the error must be with Yahoo!   After contacting Yahoo, I was told that since others in the group can receive the messages, that the error must be with Comcast. <sigh> The last email I got from Yahoo said that Comcast would need to add Yahoo info into the Comcast whitelist. I told this to a Comcast technician during a help chat on 4/5 ... and she told me to fill out this form: http://www.comcastsupport.com/sdcxuser/asp/comcast_blockedprovider.asp I did that even tho the issue is that the Yahoo Group's messages were being blocked and I didn't have an IP address for those, but I could provide the domain name:  yahoogroups.com I tried to put the info that Yahoo Groups gave me for the whitelist, but the description is limited to 1024 characters  Needless to say, I have not received a resonse from Comcast within 24 hours of posting the form  Here is the info from Yahoo!: "Since you have already reviewed your settings, and confirmed that the emails are not landing in your spam folder, you will need to follow up with your email provider again, since it appears that they are dropping emails from the group.     Hi all,
    There have been a few discussions on the list about sending fairly
    straightforward emails from SMTP. Has anyone tried sending attachments?
    I have a requirement to send quite large attachments ( upto 15Mb ),
    some of the files will be zipped. Does anyone have any idea how to do this
    and has anyone had any problems sending files of this size through a
    Forte SMTP link?

    Yes, you have to encode them (like base64) into a ASCII text, and then
    attached them to your DATA part in SMTP. It is not very complicated,
    and why
    wouldn't it work through Forte SMTP link? Though it goes through Forte
    it

  • Attachments missing in emails

    Since updating to Mavericks, all attachments in existing emails are missing - there's a box with a question mark where they were.
    Any suggestions, please?

    Select a mailbox on the left then from the Mail menu bar click Mailbox > Rebuild

  • I am not sure if this is a Firefox issue or Yahoo, but I am trying to transfer a picture from an obit to a Yahoo group and I can't get it to move over, it either comes up with a url or logo words. Am I missing something?

    I am not sure which issue this falls under. I am posting obits to a yahoo group and when there is a picture or flag it won't transfer over. I am not sure what to do to correct this.

    Nope, though it did allow me to get some missing songs back onto my iPod. That's something. But neither "Back in Black" or "Dirty Deeds" show up anywhere on the Touch. Could this be because iTunes has no deal with AC/DC?
    Quite frankly, at this point, I'd really rather not have the "ease of use" of iCloud attached to the iPod. It's not like I change my playlists that much. It would just be nice to get what I want onto my MP3 player. Not sure which one it was: iCloud, Music Match or the Air Port but the only real result of all the $ I plunked down is seeing all of my Wife's 231 Christmas songs popping up on my laptop. Really don't want them here. She SURE AS **** is sick of seeing all of my stuff on her computer.

    When I use Thunderbird with Yahoo Groups, Google groups, and other email lists, I don't get a copy of my own emails back from the list. I *do* when I use Mail, so it seems like a Thunderbird thing. I'd really like to see my own emails come back to me in the conversation so that I know where my remarks fall in the discussion; it's very disorienting when you can't tell if your email has arrived at the list, or not. I can't seem to find the setting, and I've searched thru your help topics, etc., to no avail. Thanks.

    It's both gmail and mac.com email accounts, and it's all email lists -- including some privately hosted on servers, that are not Google groups, not Yahoo groups.
    I'm not sure what you mean by "saving a copy of your messages yourself" in Mail -- if I email to the lists with Mail on my laptop or iPad, I can see it on my desktop computer too, right in line with other email messages in the thread, after the list resends the message I've submitted. It's only Thunderbird that this "invisible posts" behavior happens, and it didn't use to happen this way. I used to get my emails posting right in the thread.

    Hello there,
    I made the switch from an old HTC Android to the new iPhone 5S two weeks ago and the one thing I cannot configure to my liking is email notifications in the notification center. I have multiple email accounts that recieve a moderate volume of emails on most of my accounts per day and need a quick way to view the activity of a given email account, not the app. I currently use two email apps as follows:
    Mail - iOS7 native app
    x2 Exchange email accounts
    x1 Windows Live email account
    x1 Yahoo email account
    Gmail App
    x2 Gmail email accounts
    I have configured the notification center to notify me for all but the yahoo email account. The problem I have is that the notificaiton center only shows X number of recent emails (selected in settings) the APP has recieved, and does not say which email account it is, or how many extra emails on top of X that I selected were recieved. My phone is on silent 24/7 and the only vibrates for phone calls and text messages. I will periodically check the notification center throughout the day and use it as a summary of what has happend since the last time I checked.
    On my Android, each email account would have two lines in the Android Notification center. The first unread email on an account would use those two lines to tell you the subject line, time recieved, email account, the total number of unread emails, and the app. Once that account gets two or more emails, it simplifies to say the number of new messages, time the last one was recieved, the email account, the total number of unread emails, and the app. What is really nice about that setup is that each email account had two lines in the notification center, no matter what, and at a quick glance I can see which email accounts are really acitve and I probably need to check on. If one email account was really active and I wanted to check on it, I could select the single notification for that account and it would take me to the (already updated) inbox where I can quickly browse to see what all the emails are about. At this point it may sound like it is just different and I just need to get used to the iOS7 interface, but let me share an example where iOS7 lets me down, and Android has done well for the last couple years:
    During M-F from 8-6, my two exhange accounts and one of my gmail accounts are the only accounts I care about. One exchange account receieves 5-20 emails per hour, and the other exchange account might recieve 1-5 per day. Only a small percentage of those 5-20 emails need a priority response, but the account that gets 1-5 per day are emails that I need to know about and respond to right away. What happens in the iOS7 notification center is that I may not even see a notification for the email account that gets 1-5 emails per day, and if I do, it only tells me the sender, subject line, and some of the body if I allow more than 2 lines - it does not specify which email account it was sent to. I can choose 1, 5, or 10 emails to be displayed for the Mail App in settings, but the 5-20 emails I recieve can bump the 1 important email from the one account out of the notification center.
    Is there a way to configure notifications per email account, and bundle all the recieved emails (by saying "# New Messages" or similar) on a given account into 2-4 lines? My ultimate goal here is to not lose a notification on one account due to the high volume of another, but to also keep them concise enough that I don't need to scroll through a massive list of notifications like one giant inbox.
    I would appreciate any tips or advice to configure the notification center better for my use case. Thank you!

    Yeah.. I have problems with all apps that have notifications.
    Forget the Google Gmail example.. I'll use imo, Groupme, and Facebook as examples.
    I see the notifications. But when I open the app, it won't show the newest received messages. It will take a few second before the app would refresh.
    With my Android experience, all apps would update with the new information in the background. It appears that even though the apps are running in the background in iOS, the actual app appears to be paused until you reopen the app. That's when the app will refresh with the new information.

    Unfortunately as Sachin stated, there is no easy (meaning by configuration) way to send email alert for timesheet.
    Another way would be to create a SSRS report and send it by email using the
    out of the box subscription feature of SSRS.

    I have just got myself a new PC with Windows 7 (64bits). Using IE 8 (32 bit version), I am unable to download emails attachments from my normal Yahoo account ([email protected]). I have read somewhere that this could be due to the fact that Yahoo uses Norton as antivirus scan for email attachments, and that this could clash with BT NetProtectPlus (McAfee under the bonnet). Is there an option I need to switch off (and if so which one / how) in BT NetProtectPlus in order for me to be able to download attachments via Yahoo mail ?
    Please note that this used to work on my previous PC (Windowx XP).

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
    To be honest, there would not really be a clash between the products you've mentioned, because the online system using Norton is a server system and actioned before any download. There is possibly an option in BTNetprotect for "email scanning" or similar. This option can be turned off in the general case, since disk writes are covered anyway,
    Have you tried another browser (e.g. Firefox, Opera or Safari) to see if the same conditions exist ?
    Is there any particular error message or delay you are seeing ?

  • From one of my yahoo groups all the messages come thru appearing from the same person. Why is this?

    I belong to several yahoo groups and use the filters to send them to their respective folders. Lately with one group, all the messages appear to be from the same person, which I know is not true from looking internally. I've looked on my providers site at my email, at at the groups site, they are that way so it's happening when it comes into Thunderbird. Running version 24.6.0.

    They aren't in the address book. Anyway I went into the config editor and set something to false and it took care of the problem. Don't remember what it was. Something with "Show" in it.

    Email attachments from SSRS email subscription are not being uploaded to an email enabled SharePoint 2013 document library.
    I have tested the library using a standard email (with attachment) to the library and this works fine. 
    I have monitored the drop folder on the server and I can see both emails being picked up in drop and processed by SharePoint.  The email sent from a regular email account is uploaded with the attachment, whereas the email sent via SSRS subscription
    email is uploaded and the attachment (report) is missing.

    An update on this.  The email when sending from SSRS subscription is received in the library and the attachment is contained within the .EML file uploaded.
    The behaviour that I would like from SSRS subscription emails are to just have the document and not the email.
    Below is a snippet of the .EML files I quick copied from the Drop folder.

  • Unable to send PDFs as email attachments

    I have become unable to send PDFs as email attachments when using Firefox.
    Depending on the PDF, I either get the message “There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.” or it opens as a blank document. This occus when opening the file with both Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro. The problem seems to be isolated to PDFs. (I am able to send Word files. If a PDF is zipped before attaching, it can be opened without problem.) This occurs on both an institutional email account and personal (Yahoo) email account. This problem is isolated to Firefox (does not happen in Chrome).
    I have reset Firefox to default settings, as well as reinstalling.

    Unless the email account supports push access for received email, push being on or off makes no difference.
    Push is supported with a Yahoo account created with the Yahoo account preset, with an Apple iCloud account, and with an Exchange account?
    If the account is a POP account, are you also accessing the account with an email client on your computer that remains launched and running actively checking the account for new messages which your iPhone is doing the same?
    If yes, what is the account setting with the email client on your computer for removing messages from the server after being downloaded?

    Hi, I have set up a few email accounts using the email apps on my iPad 2 and they includes Yahoo!, Gmail, MS Exchange and my office MS Outlook.
    I did a test today and realise that all the email account will ask for my permission before downloading the attachment by displaying the "Tap to Download" except for my MS outlook account.
    May I know the reason why different settings appear here? I remember that I am able to select the size of the email to download previously but now i cannot.
    Therefore, may I know if there is any way to prevent auto downloading of the email attachment?

    I assumed this until I checked my usuage before going into the email with the attachment. The usuage indicates that the attachment has been downloaded.
    e.g. I send an email with attachment from pc to my iphone. I go into inbox on the iphone and the little paperclip appears. At this stage I do not click on the message, instead I hit home>setting>general>usage; and the "received" data goes up the same size/amount of kb as the attachment, therefore I assume the attachment has been downloaded automatically.
    On another note, I have read on some forums the "arrow" to download email attachments, once the email message is opened points down. My arrow points to the right. Is this normal?
