Yahoo keeps impinging on what I get on the internet with Firefox

For the last two weeks whenever I try to access things on the internet, sometimes from my email account, a Yahoo page jumps in. I use Firefox when I access Blackboard for my work, and this makes it impossible for me to get where I need to go. Please help. This does not happen when I use Safari.

When I try to connect to the web, my connection says it is dormant. I have tried to uninstall firefox and re install it but my computer states that it is open and wont let me. I really like firefox and would like to continue using it. When I go into task manager it is not running. can you help me?

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • I downloaded version 4 and now I cannot connect to the internet with firefox. The lower version worked fine. It keeps saying I'm offline. Any suggestions?

I have used the older version of firefox and it worked fine. I downloaded version 4 and now cannot get on the internet with firefox. It keeps saying I'm offline and to check a particular box to correct the problem. I have no idea what they're talking about and would appreciate any help.

Ah I figured it out.....Mcafey was blocking it. Why on earth did AVG being uninstalled update mcafey settings, to block firefox?

Yes if you purchase the tethering data plan for your iPhone. See:

  • Help me please! I can't get on the internet with my new phone

Can someone please help me. I purchased my Blackberry Pearl from an on-line seller and it was suposed to be new. The problem comes when I try to set up my e-mail account....I go to my e-mail set-up option and the only one that it gives me is " I want to use a work e-mail account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server" . Obviously I do not want to do this but I have no other options. I can either hit close or next and next ask me for a password from my Enterprise Server administrator. I contacted Verizon and after much run around they finally told me that this phone was connected to another Blackberry account. I don't know if they really knew what they were talking about or if they just did not want to really help me because I did not upgrade my account and buy my phone from them.  It sounds to me like they are trying to say the phone is stolen since they are saying that it is connected with another Blackberry account but if that were the case then Verizon would no be able to activate the phone and I can get it activated and make and receive calls but I cannot get on the internet with it. What good is a smart phone if you can't do everything it is supposed to do?

    Hello,
Actually, what they told you is accurate. BIS accounts are what enable additional services (including Personal email). BIS accounts are all managed by the carriers. One BB, as defined by it's unique PIN, can have only one BIS account on one carrier in the world. If a BIS account exists somewhere else for a specific BB, then a carrier cannot create another account for it. That is the way it works. One of the reasons is of course to prevent the use of stolen items. That's not the only reason, but it's all irrelevant...if a BIS account exists somewhere for that BB, VZW cannot create one for it.
What you need to do is to contact the seller and hope they are reputable. They need to contact their carrier and have that BIS account shut down. Only then might VZW be able to create a BIS account for you.
    Good luck!

  • I work in an area where we use T one lines for internet.  I do have an iphone and am able to get on the internet on it.  Will I be able to get on the internet with an IPAD 3 that I have recently purchased.

I work in a company that has only t one connection for internet.  There is no interet srvice provided in this area.  I do however have and Iphone three and have no trouble getting on the internet with it. Will it be the same for the IPAD 3 that I just purchased??  Want to be able to use the IPAD 3 at work and get on the interent and if I can on the Iphone 3 I'm hoping the IPAD 3 will also.  Any thoughts?

Either your phone is getting on wifi or you're using the cellular network to access the internet. If it's wifi, then you just need to connect the iPad to the same wifi. If you're using the phone's cellular connection to access the net, then you'll either need to get a tethering plan to use your phone as a mobile hotspot for your iPad, or get a device like the Mifi, which is a portable cellular wifi hotspot

  • I want to buy an iPad for my children for Christmas. Will they be able to play games and get on the Internet with this? Also, will they automatically be able to get on the Internet or will I have to purchase some kind of package?

I want to buy an iPad for my children for Christmas. Will they be able to play games and get on the Internet with this? Also, will they automatically be able to get on the Internet or will I have to purchase some kind of package?

Yes, they can play games - there are hundreds if not thousands of games available in the iTunes Store. Beware of the "free" games; many are free for the base game but charge for things like additional levels, "coins" etc. and those paid add-ons can add up quickly, to dozens or even in some cases hundreds of dollars. I'd strongly suggest you set up restrictions on the iPad to prevent your children from making unauthorized purchases. See:
    http://ipod.about.com/od/iphonehowtos/ht/Using-Iphone-Content-Restrictions.htm
You will need an Internet provider of some sort; Apple is not a provider and so the iPad does not include a data service. You can either use a home Internet connection with a WiFi access point (aka "router") or you can get an iPad with WiFi+Cellular and sign up for a data plan with a cell carrier. WiFi through a home Internet service will probably be cheaper.
    Regards.

  • Have one WiFi signal into the apartment for my Air, and another wifi signal for my 5c phone plan. Both from the same provider. Expensive. Is there a way to 'combine' WiFi signals so I pay only for one, but can get on the Internet with my Air?

Have one WiFi signal into the apartment for my Air, and another wifi signal for my 5c phone plan. Both from the same provider. Expensive. Is there a way to 'combine' WiFi signals so I pay only for one, but can get on the Internet with my Air?

Roamingnome, thanks for your response. Although I have been a Bell (Canada) customer for my WiFi signal for years, the 5c and its necessary mobility plan, is very recent. Some years ago, Bell supplied its own ‘router’ for my computer, and claimed that it was possible to get their WiFi signal only with the router they supplied. When I recently received the 5c, I wondered if the plan it requires, which is within the much wider, overall Bell zone, could be used somehow to get my Air online - some sort of tethering? - that allows me to give up the Air WiFi service and router all together, but still get the Air connected. Here in Canada, Bell Mobility and other Bell services are very separate. Any suggestions appreciated.

  • Why cant I get on the internet with my 3gs?

I was using a samsung focus windows 7 phone with my simcard then my friend upgraded to an iphone 4 and I got his old 3gs to get away from the horror that is the windows phone. Now I cant get on the internet with the phone unless im on wifi but I can still make phonecalls and text with the phone. Do I have to call apple to activate with my sim or something? I was under the impression it would just work?

The lock icon is the screen rotation lock. It has nothing to do with this.
Did you inform AT&T that you have upgraded to an iPhone? The data plan must be provisioned specifically for an iPhone in order to work correctly.
If all you did was take your old sim and pop it in an iPhone, it's not going to work.

  • Can't get on the internet with my new Imac.

My new Imac arrived yesterday. It has Tiger installed and a Leopard disk in the box. I had already downloaded my usb broadband modem's drivers for Tiger 10.4.5 from my Isp and thought it would be a simple matter to install them. No chance! They won't work. It's running Tiger 10.4.10. The modem doesn't sync up and the computer says it doesn't exist. Then I had the bright idea of upgrading to Leopard and using Boot Camp to install Windows XP. Big mistake! I've only got an ancient XP upgrade disk and you need a full SP2 one. But of course I didn't find that out untill I'd put the disk in the superdrive. So now it's stuck in there. Every time I switch the computer on it just boots into the windows setup. Pressing F3 just reboots it into Windows setup. Does anybody know how I can get that cd out of my drive? And how do I get on the internet? My usb modem and it's driver works fine on an old powerbook running Panther.

    Hello again Nevertheless,
Probably! - Possibly! Almost certainly! Hmmm...
Belkin equipment has caused more problems than it had solved ( in my experience only )
Netgear equipment has solved all the problems I have, so far, encountered.
    http://www.netgear.co.uk/wirelessadslrouterdg834g.php
It's easy. It works and I DONT work for them.
    Regards once more.

If your backup is encrypted and you don't know the password anymore, you'll have to start from the beginning and set up the phone without the backup. An encrypted backup can't be used anymore without the correct password.

  • Subnet not getting to the Internet with 1200 series AP's

    Hello,
I wanted to see if  anyone could point me in the right direction.  I have a office network that was setup before I started. We have a 172. subnet and a 10.2 subnet. When users on Wifi get a 10.2 address ( ran out of 172 address )  they are not able to get out to the internet. But if the laptop is  connected to a LAN port and get a 10.2 address they are able to get to  the Internet. Not sure if its the Aps I need to configure or the Pix seeing that if they get a LAN address of 10.2 everything works.
This is becoming a bigger issue now that the company has out grown its main subnet  (172.)   Any suggestions or conmand that I can try that would help me out would be greatly appreacted .
    Thanks Mike B

  • I keep getting error message saying application did not initialize and I can't get on the internet with mozilla at all

when I click to open the internet through Mozilla Firefox, I get this message; "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click on OK to terminate the application."
When I do this, I have to click on it twice before the box goes away. I still can't access the internet through Mozilla.

Well, if they are private range IPs it does not make any difference. Everybody use them.
    Anyway hide any personal information.
