Yahoo loading more messages app fix.

This problem has been driving me nuts for a couple of days so im throwing it out there to help people.
For the last few days my email seems to have been stuck in a loop telling me " load more messages "
I try to refresh it but nothing.
Ive looked at forum discussions and tried uninstalling / reinstalling Yahoo. Turning Handset off and back on again without any luck.
So here are a couple of fixes for you. If you are anything like me you are gonna kick yourself now. Its really simple to still access your yahoo emails on your iphone:
First option: Download the yahoo app from the app store. Its that simple. All your emails will now come through the app and is actually much better to use. You also get a dedicated icon on your phone.
Second option: Go on your Safari / google/ yahoo then log in as you would on a home pc or laptop.
See i told you that you would kick yourself.....

Go to your yahoo account via the web. Make sure everything is current there, that is.. everythihng you want deleted, do so. How did you add this account? via the mail app? If so, and cleaning up Yahoo didn't work, try deleting it and adding it via settings. If you added it via settings, do the opposite. But first, clean up yahoo.

  • Yahoo mail will not, "Load More Messages" on iPhone 3gs

When I go into my Yahoo mail account using the iPhone's mail app, scroll down to the bottom of my list in my inbox, and press the, "Load More Messages" button it will not load more. It's really making me upset. Anyone else having this problem? I have more messages to load but it just refuses to load them. Please help!
    Thanks alot.

Hey Alan thanks again for the advice but what you suggested did not help/work. On my Yahoo account there is still and option to load more messages, but when I push it, it sadly still fails to load anymore messages. Question? Do the messages have to be unread for them to load? This is really starting to bug me because I can't go back and look at my old emails.
Also with my hotmail account it still will not even give me the option to load more messages. It's really frustrating.
And a final note: I tried to add my yahoo account on my wife's iPhone and it behaved exactly the same way (meaning it would give me the option to load more messages but when I asked it to, none would load)
    Sad face.

  • Activesync not letting me "load more messages"

I have an active sync account setup with my gmail account that's not showing more than about 20 or so emails in my inbox. I should be able to scroll down to the bottom of the list and click a line that says "load more messages" but that button does not appear. If I set the account inactive in settings and view the same email using IMAP I get the link and I can see more message over and over.
This is frustrating because I'd rather use active sync for push email like I do on my iPhone using this same account. Anyone else seen this? If it makes a difference, my gmail is actually my own domain email using google apps.

kensei, I looked at my sync settings and I was only setup for 3 days on mail, but after setting this to no limit, mail seemed to download and download and I could scroll and scroll through the emails.
It's a half fix. While I can now see more email messages, if I had let it go, it might well have downloaded several thousand messages. I stopped and set the sync to 1 month. This result differs from the iPhone in that on the iPhone, it shows me a certain number and at the bottom get the "Load More Messages". Here, I only get that if I use imap.
Finally, as far as the Exchange settings go, it's google gmail, so although they use active sync, I really doubt they are using an exchange server. Either way, this same account behaves differently than it does on my iPhone.

  • Why has my mail started storing under Load More Messages. I'm now unable to access my mail messages.

Why has my mail started storing under Load More Messages. I'm now unable to access my mail messages.

This is my basic, first start, recommended "fix" when these types of weird, unexplained things occur on the iPad. Give it a try. After you reboot, go back to the mail app and see if the messages will load.
Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Can't "Load More Messages" in email

All of a sudden, I can't download old messages under, "Load More Messages". Everything visible is only a couple weeks old.

I have two yahoo accounts and I know as they 'improved' their servers I had periodic outages. It'd work fine on my webmail on  my computer, webmail on the iPad, but not via the mail app. And it was stuff on their end. It may be a case of wait and see and you may need to eventually remove/readd the account on your iPhone.
When the issue is on their end, unfortunately there's not much for users to do beyond wait it out or find work arounds.

  • Load More Messages (X+1 messages total, 0 unread)

I have been having an unusal problem that may be hard to describe. When I enter the Mail App on any of my iOS devices, iPad or iPhone, there is a phantom read email appearing in of my Gmail accounts. When I log on to Gmail through a desktop browser there is no additioal read email I can find, none are hiding in the tabs or labels. Furthermore, if I were to log into an Android device (I had an old one laying around), there is no "Load More Messages" or additional message appearing when viewed from that device under the same account.
Furthermore, when I click on the "Load More Messages Button" nothing happens, or occasionally it will try and load something but then go back to being a link.
Any ideas on how to get rid of it? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the Gmail account countless times under the Gmail installation, under Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add Account/Gmail. I have also tried soft resets and hard resets (with and without reverting to a back up) and each time the problem keeps arising!
This isn't the end of the world, I still can send and recieve emails, it is just annoying the **** out of me trying to get rid of it.

This is still occuring. Everything I seem to do doesn't fix it. It only happens in iOS Mail. When looking at the Gmail account through the desktop client and showing the label "All Mail" there is not additional mail that I have seen before.
Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • My mail inbox is showing Load More Messages - 5 messages total - 5 unread

My mail inbox is showing Load More Messages - 5 messages total - 5 unread. When I select Load More Messages it starts to do something then stops. I do not seem to be able to access these unread messages. Can anyone help me with this annoying problem?

  • Where is the "Load more messages..." button in Mail?

My Mail icon has a badge showing unread messages since I did a "Continue search on server" but the usual button at the bottom of any inbox saying "Load more messages" is missing. As a result I am unable to view my old unread messages. I have restarted the Mail app as well as the iPhone, with no change.

I'm trying to change the number of stored emails on both my iPad and iPhone. I used to do this as you suggested but since the latest os7 update the 'Show' option has disappeared. Any ideas what I can do?

  • Can't "Load More Messages" from Exchange Email

    Hi All,
I have 2 email accounts (yahoo + exchange). In Yahoo when I get to the end of the inbox on the phone, I can click "Load More Messages". This does not show up on Exchange however. What gives?
I am using PUSH (although if the stuck email thing starts to annoy me, I will sometimes switch to fetch)

I'm gonna give this a bump too. I'm using iPod touch...and even though I already set my microsoft exchange mail to sync with no limit of days, I still cannot retrieve my mail that is older than 2 or 3 days. On top of that, I don't even get an option to load more messages. Can anyone help us?

  • E-mail won't load... just 'Load More Messages...'

My iPad 4 recently stopped updating it's e-mail whenever I run the e-mail app. The app starts up fine, but then acts like it's updating the mail, but then doesn't and only adds a "Load More Messages..." option.
I've tried removing the account, load it again, in addition to restarting the device loads of times, but for naught.
I just removed the e-mail account, restarted the device, added the e-mail account (double-checking the settings) and now the e-mail will only display the 'Load More Messages...' option. When I click on this it spends a few minutes thinking then does nothing.
Is there a bug floating around out there or a recent glitch?
    Thanks,
    Nominrath

Here was the problem I solved myself: My hosting service, Hostmonster, has a "convenient" application using a script that allegedly will set up your client Mail on a Mac for some standard email services, including iCloud. As long as the script was implemented, it was preventing my mailbox from connecting, not enabling it. The only way I know of to stop the Hostmonster script is to delete the account, and then manually reinstall it. That solved the problem.

  • Gmail IMAP keeps showing "Load more messages"

I would say about every 99% of the time I check my email it says "load more messages" and I have to press refresh button to see them. Pressing the load more messages button does not load them. I do not know what I need to fix to get my mail to load correctly. I used the add gmail account button when I created this account. Please can anyone help me?

This is still an open issue for me as well. I have tried restarting the phone, deleting and re-adding Gmail IMAP account, and I also did a full phone restore with no luck.
Seems to be a 3.1 thing.

  • Issue with load more messages feature

Hi, I'm new to the Iphone 3Gs and I have notice a strange behavior the the "load more messages" feature.
I've setup my mail account with Gmail and everythings works fine. My mail setting is set to show the 25 more recent messages.
When I go to my inbox and press "load more messages", it loads 25 more messages so thats makes it 50. I've notice that my inbox will now show 50 messages until a power off/on cycle, than it shows the 25 more recent messages again as stated in the mail settings.
Here's my problem. The imap folder "All Mail" from Gmail does not work like this. Everytime I hit "load more messages" in that folder it loads more messages but never reset to 25 after power off. Now that folder shows over 100 messages.
Is there a way to reapply the show settings to that folder ? Only thing that works that I found is to delete the account.
    thanks for your help.

Hey man, your problem sounds similar to the one I'm having. I can't load more messages on both of my email accounts. But I think I might have figured out the problem. I recently re-installed my hotmail account and when I was looking through my,"Unread" inbox the, "Load more messages" command was working just fine. So I was continuing to go through my messages to make them read (because if your like me, I don't like to have any messages, "Unread." So when all my messages were read there was about 80 in total, and my setting was set to show the 25 most recent. So I backed out of the mail app, did a few more things and came back hoping that there would only be 25 showing with 0 unread and the ability to load more if i wished. Well, there was 25 showing but the box with the load more messages command was gone and no matter how many times I tried to refresh it would not come back.
So my theory is this; there always has to be an unread message in your inbox for the load more messages to work. Sorry about the long post. I'm going to test this theory out, knowing my luck, it won't work at all. Good luck bro!
    Peace.

  • No "load more messages" option in hotmail on iphone 4S

I have my hotmail account hooked up to the email app on my iphone 4S, but there is no "load more messages" option at the bottom of my inbox so I cant read messages before a certain time. I also have a gmail account, and there IS the option to load more messages on that (so i know it can be done), but not on my hotmail account. How can I get the "load more messages" option to come up??
    Please help!
    Thanks alot

No. To be honest Im pretty sure its because hotmail simply dont support this feature. All my friends with hotmail accounts have the problem too. I have compromised by increasing the "mail days to sync" option to 1 month, and I find this syncs enough messages for me to not have a problem. But as for the original query, I think its simply something we have to live with!
Hope that puts ur mind at rest
