Yahoo mail account - pictures/images saved are distorted

When I save the pictures on my Yahoo mail account the pictures saved are very bad quality and iPhone 3G isn't able to view them properly. What's wrong???? Please help!

As it turns out, many others have been having similar issues on other browsers. It seems that maybe Yahoo! is taking a much longer time to load or something like that. Either way, its been working on and off all week, and the same issue even showed up yesterday with IE 8 instead of FF. It still loads faster than IE 8, but again is spotty. Some people think the issue may be with mail.yimg.com or s.yimg.com, which I could see was the loading url in the left corner whenever Yahoo! Mail was refusing to work. A couple of people said blocking it caused the issue. Alternatively, some people suggested blocking it to solve the problem. Does anyone have any information on that? Again, I have no add-ons that would be blocking any urls, and my firewall hasn't any records of it. I really don't want to do anything to mess up my browsers more than they may have already been. Usually, after opening Firefox, to check my Yahoo mail, I log in with my password, and mark the little box in front of KEEP ME OPEN, I can check my mail, and then close Firefox. Whenever I open Firefox, I can access my Yahoo mail account without typing my password. It stays open for 2 weeks. From yesterday, whenever I close Firefox, to access my mail account, I must log in again no matter whatever I've tried such as: Tools-Options-Security-Saved Password, or log out, then log in, type PW, mark little box to KEEP ME OPEN. I even uninstall Firefox, restart, download and re-install Firefox 8.0. The problem can never be solved. It's very annoying to log in by typing again and again my PW. Please help me out since I don't know what causes this problem. Thanks everybody who can help me out.

Benji, I did get the email server error message again last night around 8PM, but again the email does eventually go. Wondering if the 6PM to 9PM time frame is a busy time for Yahoo email servers and somehow our iTouch or portable devices take a lower priority? I seem to get the error only once a day now around that time, then everything seems fine again...could be a server issue.
Still looking for a pattern with the blank white web pages when I try and view a previous web page. Seems to happen most when I look at the "iPod touch User Guide" (on the included bookmarks)...most of the other times the previous web page loads fine so....humm....
I also had an issue with the Camera app today, the red light button and Picture/Video switch were staying dimmed...finally turned off the iTouch (holding down the Home button then pressing the Sleep/Off button on top) then turned it back on, so the iOS could reboot. That fixed the Camera app. Might want to try that too....seems like it might be a fix for a few things, especially after updating to iOS 4.2.1...

2 yahoo mail accounts, but only 1 will notify my iphone of mail, or even update the inbox at all.

I have 2 yahoo mail accounts. One of them updates to my iphone every time I get a message, the other one does not. In fact, the other one will not load new messages at all. I have deleted the account from my phone and reactivated it. I have updated to iOS 6.1.1 (from iOS 5). I have turned it on and off again. I have made certain push notifications are ON and Fetch is set to 15 minutes. Any other solutions out there?

Delete the account and start over.

I can't use some of the buttons in my Yahoo Mail account

This is one of the reasons I stopped using Pale Moon. I cannot use half of the buttons in my Yahoo Mail account HALF of the time, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Same issue with Fonts, I am looking at 5 different size fonts right now even though I have changed all of them to the same size and unchecked the box that allows websites to choose fonts for me. Do you want everyone on the planet to use IE? These are BASIC things, CHECK MY EMAIL, BE ABLE TO READ ON MY COMPUTER.

Web mail service providers don't always offer the same options for other browsers that they do for Internet Explorer. Ask NHS about that issue.

I still don't understand what the problem that you are experiencing is. If you get to a page where yahoo is asking JUST for your password, and there is no box for username (it may have your username displayed, but not in a enter box), then you ARE "being kept signed in" You can verify this by instead of entering your password, go to www.yahoo.com home page, and it will say something like "Hi, Amber" This means you ARE signed in.
When you get that page asking for just your password, you are NOT being asked to sign in again. You are simply being asked to verify/enter your assword an Nth time. If you get that page right after entering your username and password, try clicking the "back" (previous page) button. It might just go to your inbox.
If this is the case, your problem has nothing to do with being kept signed in or not, the problem is that for some (unknown to me) reason, yahoo is asking you to re-enter your password, kind of like when your mac asks for your mac password when changing system settings. Yahoo does this as a safety feature when you go to account settings, and apparently abritary other times. I wish I understood just why I get it every time after signing in.
It could be because I have java turned off. It could be because I don't accept third party cookies. Maybe a cache file. Or a hundred other things... I don't know. It could simply be yahoo is scrooing safari users. I have glanced at the html, but to really understand it, it would take me days. There are over 25 places where username and password are in the html "source" code of the yahoo login page, and even understanding that may not tell me. In the past, I have seen code essentiall saying "if IE x.3.2" do this, if chrome do that, if mozilla do something else, otherwise make it next to impossible...."
My problem is not only I get asked for my assword a second time, but also (and only very recently) I do not get a prompt to save username and pasword. I have gone to yahoo help pages to try to figure it out, and I feel like I just run in circles. If one wants to send a question in, they have to answer half a dozen questions disclosing private information. And I pay yahoo $20/year. grrr
If when you are trying to access your yahoo mail and you are being asked to enter both your username and password, but didn't sign out of yahoo, then indeed your are not being "kept signed in"

After updating my iPad 2 with os6 my yahoo mail accounts can't log me in as session time expires. When I try again as we'll as confirming my password etc I face the same problem. Any help or ideas?

After updating my iPad 2 with os6 I can't get into my yahoo mail accounts. After repeating the process I get session expired message or sometimes not even this message and just prompts me to re enter my password. I know there is no issue with username or password as it works on my PC without any issues.

Thanks for your response, however my yahoo mail started to work as normal this morning! No explanation, even though I made several attempts during the past few days by trying to log in but to no avail. Yet today it suddenly worked...presto.
Prior to this I made a trip to the Apple store in London and chatted with a few staff about this issue yesterday and they could not help.....had two answers:
1. Check with yahoo and make sure you have not over stretched the number of accounts ( even though there are only two)
2. If you had backed up os5 on the computer, one could revert back to old software. Otherwise wait for Apple to fix issues as os6 is new.
*Be interesting to know if anyone else has had a similar fix without rhyme or reason?

Can't add Yahoo mail account

I'm trying to add my 2nd Yahoo mail account, but the iPhone will not allow it. I always get the message "The username or password for imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect."
The username and password are both correct. The Yahoo mail account that I set up when I got my first iPhone back in 2007 is still working fine, but this new account can't be added. I can access the account just fine from the web.
I've seen this issue show up a lot in various forums, but I haven't found a solution yet. Does anyone have one?

For what it's worth. I have a pacbell.net account through at&t/yahoo. I have set up my email on my iphone 3G using the yahoo mail option. MY email is working and pushing just fine. I cannot, however, set up my daughters account on my phone, nor as the only email account on her iphone 3G. I get the message username and passoword incorrect. These are BOTH sub accounts and both have address as:
[firstname]_[lastname]@pacbell.net
It is befuddling to me why one works and the other doesn't, they are set up identically through att/yahoo. I contacted yahoo and they told me its an iphone issue so I don't know where to go from here. I have not tried resetting network settings on the phone as I have a lot I do not want to loose plus I do not see any reports that this process actually works.
The only thing I can think of is the number of characters in the email address as my first name is only 3 letters and hers is 7.

Mail Application doesn't keep data of my Yahoo mail account

I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts). Any possible solution?

What I would like to add is that the problem only appeared last week, without doing anything ... I have had no such problems since September I got the computer ...

I think iphone 4 deals with mail account in an impressive way unlike the macbook pro. Because my yahoo mail account had been synced completely with all its emails and folders on the iphone 4.
BUT with Macbook pro, nothing happened even it told me that please make sure of your password. N.B. I know my password....
My question is can I have all my emails synced in my new macbook pro with all its folders. ?

Thanks, You know..... it happened with me once before when I first use the windows live mail client.... I contacted yahoo staff and they replied with the same as you replied......( I thought that there is way to do what I wanted )...
By the way they advised me, if I wanted to get my folders .... I have to MOVE messages from specific folder to INBOX then SYNC imail then CREATE folder in imail with the same name as in my yahoo and so on !!!!
OK, if there are ways to sync the WINDOWS LIVE MAIL accounts and its folders, it will be great..... Does anyone know HOW TO ?

I cannot log into my yahoo mail account from my iphone4. The password does not have any special characters. On my PC there is no problem.
Also cannot configure Add Yahoo mail. I woould get a message, stating "Verification required. Log into your Yahoo! account at www.yahoo.com". when I attempt this I get "Invalid ID/Password".

Tried eveyrhting and this was the way that fixed it for me --
if you are having an issue adding the yahoo mail account on an iphone/ ipad / ipod.
In the app store download the yahoo mail app for iphone (it works on ipads and ipods as well.. but there's only an iphone version). After downloading it - open and sign in. It's likely it will say that your yahoo account is 'locked' due to suspicious activity - follow the prompts to unlock it.
Now add the yahoo account under the ipad mail settings.
It should work in the regular ipad, iphone, ipod mail application now.

When I open my Yahoo mail account, it comes up with lines between every entry. When I try to send a new message, the dialogue box is incomplete. The tool bar above the message box is empty so I cannot change the font or font size, etc.

This problem does not occur when I open my Yahoo mail account in Internet Explorer.
Because of it, I cannot use Firefox to access my Yahoo mail.

Give it time. Yahoo has had persistent issues the past few weeks. wait 24 hours or so and then try again.

When I click on an e-mail address Mail does come up as my default mail program. How can I change that back to Yahoo using Safari? I've asked that question of Yahoo, but they just tell me to use Firefox, which I do not want to do. I like Safari and will simply fight the Mail program back if I have to. I do use Mail to back up notes from my iPhone. It does work for that just fine.

Here is Mail getting in the way again. I appreciate your information, I downloaded Notifier and got to the point of above, needing to go to preferences in Mail. Mail will not let me go to preferences unless I give Mail an e-maill account to service. I do not want Mail to service an account. Mail is a nasty obtrusive program that wants to be in the driver's seat of my computer system. If I give Mail my gmail account set up again, using that italian program that also is a hack to my system, I will need to do that just to access Mail preferences so I can tell Mail that it is okay to use Gmail?
Something is fishy in Denmark to be sure.
I'm going to delete Notifier.app until I am able to see what gives with Mail.

Later post, I think this post has also taken it that I want to use Mail, Read my many statements, over a dozen by now, that I do not want to use Mail. I want to compose my outgoing mail in GMail. I want GMail to be my default mail program. I wan Apple Mail to Die! (at this point, that seems impossible to accomplish.)
It's simple, but I will repeat and repeat. I simply want to be able to click on a link, like a link in Craigslist to respond to an ad, and have the GMail compose e-mail come up ready to respond to the Craigslist ad.

EVen more frustration now, I tried the notifier icon in the menu bar and selected compose mail and it tried to open up Apple Mail. How can I get rid of Apple Mail and let my system know that I want the GMail account to come up to compose my email in GMail (what I was trying to do with Yahoo until I got nowhere with Yahoo, now I'm trying to see if I can get GMail to work as my default mail program.

Need Help Setting Up Chattermail with AT&T Yahoo Mail Account

Ok... so I've spent half the day trying every possible permutation of my login, server name etc and I STILL can't get Chattermail to successfully log in.
This is a paid Yahoo mail account. The servers I succesfully use for my older 700w were: incoming: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com, outgoing: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
I'm confused by the set up in chattermail. It doesn't have the servers marked as "outgoing" and "incoming" I've put the incoming server name in the "define" tab and the outgoing in the "smtp" tab.
I've tried both my entire email address and just the part before the "@" as my login. I also have the ssl boxes checked because my system seems to be using those.
I cannot get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas?
