Yahoo mail folders

how to get the mail folders created in Yahoo to show up on iphone4 like it did on previous generations of iphones.... can't seem to figure it out since push date became effective

Since a Yahoo email account can be accessed as a POP type account only with the Mail.app and other email clients, messages available in the account's Inbox mailbox at the server are the only messages downloaded by an email clients with a POP type account.
You can't export the mail folders that you created at the server so in order to have messages available in these folders downloaded by the Mail.app will require transferring those messages to the account's Inbox mailbox at the server.

  • Issue with emails being deleted from my Yahoo mail folders

Hi, I am experiencing an issue where emails are being deleted from my Yahoo mail folders when the weekly Sunday night purge of the Yahoo Trash folder is carried out by Yahoo. These are mails that have been moved from my inbox via the iphone mail app.
I have a similar problem with Outlook 2010 on my laptop but not with Outlook 2003 on my desktop.
When I move the emails from my inbox I have noticed that using Outlook 2003, the moved email is left in my inbox in "strikethrough" mode whereas on Outlook 2010 it is deleted from my inbox. I subsequently purge the marked email from my inbox in 2003.
I am able to see and access the emails in the folder I have moved them to until after midnight on Sunday when they dissappear. The emails moved via 2003 are ok and not lost.
Funnily enough when using an earlier version of the iphone mail app I remember that I could see emails in "strikethrough" mode in Outlook 2003 when they had been moved via the iPhone mail app but you don't see that now.
It feels like some sort of pointer issue to me ...... any ideas on how to stop this happening?.

This is now fixed !!!! I am not sure how though :-((
I reported the problem to Yahoo and in the process of them investigating the issue my sub-folders suddenly became invisible via my IMAP connection and then also were invisible on-line following a log out and a log in. After my initial panic, I contacted Yahoo who were able to restore my complete account. Since then, the problem has gone away.
I have been testing this for two weeks and all is working perfectly from whatever device I use to connect to my mail (IMAP or via my browser).
    Phew!

  • Yahoo mail folders disappeared

On ipad with yahoo mail account, all my yahoo folders such as the sent folder and folders I created disappeared after I also set up a yahoo mail account on my iphone.  I have iCloud mail on for ipad and iphone.  ipad is new ipad with ios 5.1.1 and iphone is 4s with 5.1.1.  Note that earlier I said the 4s had ios 5.1 but I installed the update to 5.1.1.

I had the same problem and found a solution on another forum.  Above the column heading line is a line with icons starting with the "Compose Message".  The second icon from the right should be the one to "Switch View".  Hover over it to verify.  From the dropdown menu select "Page by Page (Classic)" option.  Click "Ok" to confirm.  Using the same dropdown , switch back to your original view option.  The date column should have been restored,  I tried doing this through the Options>Mail Options dropdown a the top of the page without success; so, don' t bother trying it that way.
    Good Luck!

  • Yahoo mail folders not updated automatically

I have configured my yahoo mail box on the new iPad. I have a lot of folders in yahoo mail, which do not get updated with new mail on the iPad, like they do on the web. Is there any way to make this work?

Had same problem. Seems that a specific email is preventing loading. Was able to clear by going to Yahoo mail in iPad Safari and puling up and down on mail folder until showed all mail from today and back beyond the date of the stuck email date. Once email for the previously stuck folder showed all mail in iPad Safari, iPad mail app email folder showed all current email also.

  • NOW-Yahoo Mail won't move messages to folders. Help, please?

    Original iPhone with 2.0 software . . .
When I try to move a message (from the inbox, for example) into one of my yahoo Mail folders, I get this message:_"Unable to Move Message."_
Is this happening to you? Is there a solution??
    Thank you for your help.
    Allan

Have you tried deleting the Yahoo account and readding it? Was it working earlier(with the update)? I know Yahoo has been very up and down with various things so possibly there might be a server related problem if it just started.
You could also possibly try to reset the network settings and then try to move the messages.

  • Yahoo Mail Inbox Not Working

It seems that the Yahoo Mail Inbox has stopped fetching any messages (old or new). It will get all email from other Yahoo Mail folders... just not the inbox. I want to say it's been a problem for the last 2-3 days. The status message on the iPhone just says "Checking for Mail" and hangs.
Anyone else having this same problem?
    Thanks.

For better or for worse, this solution below works, found at iLounge. I'd love to know what constitutes a "corrupt email" (that is fine by PC/browser but the iPhone can't handle).

I called an Apple tech and have a solution for the problem stated by the OP and myself:
    1) Login your Yahoo account from your computer
    2) Create a folder named InboxTest and move every email sitting in your Inbox into this new folder.
    3) Compose a new email from Yahoo and send it to yourself (the Yahoo account that isn't working)
    4) Close your browser, do not check/read your Yahoo account from your computer
    5) Go to your iPhone > Mail > Yahoo > Inbox and tap the refresh button
5a) There is a possibility that the email you sent yourself got diverted to your Bulk/Junk folder automatically so if you don't see anything check that folder
5b) You may need to reset your iPhone (hold home + sleep button)
After you restart your iPhone, your InboxTest folder should show up, and your Inbox should be downloading new emails correctly. If your Inbox starts working again, do not open the InboxTest folder from your iPhone -- you will need to login from your computer again and go through the various emails in the InboxTest folder, one of them is corrupt or caused the issue to begin with... so delete any that you don't need
I hope this helps, it's the procedure as I could remember it when I was talking to the Apple tech... it may not be step by step but I think it will work -- if not just call Apple.

  • I accidentally deleted my synchronized yahoo mail folder

Do I need to create a new folder for my synced yahoo mail - I accidentally deleted the folder when I was trying to "clean up" my yahoo mail folders.

Load your backup for the entire iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in the iPhoto library - that is why you have a backup to protect against hardware, software and human failures

  • Can I sync Mac mail w/iphone and Yahoo mail?

I'm used to checking my Yahoo mail on my Mac using the mail program (not Mobile Me). Now that I've got an iPhone it checks it on Yahoo mail and uses Yahoo mail folders. I've got lots of stuff stored on my Mac in mail folders and still prefer to check my mail there. When I send a mailnote from my Mac it, obviously, doesn't show up in my sent mail in Yahoo. Is there a way to sync all of this? I really prefer the Mac mail interface than Yahoo's web browser interface. Also, the filters (a.k.a. rules) work way better in Mail.
Thoughts or am I missing something?
    Thanks.
    -Robin

    Robin,
iTunes will sync the email account settings to the iPhone, not the actual emails and folders.
When you setup the account on the iPhone, by tapping Add Account> Yahoo!> entering you account info, it is setup as a IMAP account.
Heres a thread discussing not being able to setup up a Yahoo! IMAP account on a Mac or PC: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1020969
You can contact Yahoo! support here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/
Also you can workaround the issue by setting up a MobileMe or Gmail IMAP account.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • I have Yahoo mail provider but just lost my folders in Mac Mail program. The folders were not "On my Mac" but on "Yahoo". How do I get them back again?

I have Yahoo mail provider but just lost my folders in Mac Mail program. The folders were not "On my Mac" but on "Yahoo". How do I get them back again? I have reinstalled MacMail as everything had disappeared. The new install has given me everything except the Yahoo folders. When I looked one of the folders had reappeared, but now it has gone again. I am using Yosemite.
Desperate to find those folders with so much data involved.

Thanks for that babowa. If I add my Yahoo account it just goes straight to MacMail and says I already have an account. There seems to be no basic problem with mails going between Macmail and Yahoo. It is just the folders that have disappeared, while MacMail was out of action. I don't think those particular folders were ever on the Yahoo mail that I access through BT, they were just on the MacMail under "Yahoo" as opposed to "On my Mac". I am worried in case I lose what I already have if I press "Restore" from my back up. As you can see, I am not exactly good at this!

  • IPad- on Yahoo pages the mail icon with the red number indication shows email.  When I tap, it asks me to sign in again. I do. It takes me to yahoo mail but there is nothing.  All the folders are emptied. All mail is either read, trash, or deleted.

iPad- on all Yahoo pages the mail icon with the red number indication shows email.  When I tap, it asks me to sign in again. I do. It takes me to yahoo mail but there is nothing.  All the folders are emptied. All my mail is either read, trash, or deleted. Also, when I tap on the mail app on iPad home page, gmail is no problem but for yahoo I get error: no password for yahoo. Go to Mail Account Settings and enter password.  I'm stuck. Suggestions?  Thank you.

    Ask and you shell receive.....lol
Go to your Gmail account in the browser.
Hit the folder icon that brings up the folder selection.
Scroll down to the bottom and select desktop version.
The broswer will refresh and bring up your gmail account as though you were looking on it on the computer.
The go to the upper right corner and select settings.
Then go to forwarding and pop/imap
    Go look at pop download
There you'll find 3 numbered lines
    Go to 1. Status
And select enable pop for all mail
    Then save the settings
Once you have done that you can go back to BlackBerry device settings and sync your mail or wait for it to sync it's self.
Let me know how it works out.
I just did it and it sync within minutes.

  • Creating Folders on BT Yahoo Mail

I am unable to create folders or sub folders opn BT Yahoo Mail. The correct box for creating new folders appears with no issue, but after typing in the name of the folder I get the following message.
"Sorry, an unknown error has occurred. Please try again. If the issue persists, please contact customer care."
I have tried to create a folder over 3-4 days just in case it was a temporary fault, but no joy. I am using a Mac/OS Yosemite with Safari as the browser. Thus far I have cleared history and cache.
    Any thoughts much appreciated!
    Solved!

David - thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated.
Yes the issue still remains. I have been in contact with BT, but so far the issue remains unresolved. One adviser "took over" my Mac, but to no avail. The adviser then said he would take the issue to a higher level and that BT would get back to me within 48hrs.
Just to clarify I am able to retrieve the new folder box with no problem, but when I type in the name I get the message above.
Apologies for the size of the image, but this is how it comes out when I add an image!

  • Yahoo mail issues - receiving but can't access folders

A few days ago I upgraded my iphone 4 to OS 5.1.1, immediately had problems with my Verizon (Yahoo) email.  Reading other discussions here I am now able to recieve my Yahoo emails by manual fetch but this only works for new email.  To get here I deleted the account, re-initialized the iphone and then reinstalled the Yahoo account.  Working so far but in my main inbox all remails earlier than May 16 are archived and I cannot access.  I have the setting for mail to show the last 500 messages so that shouldn't be the issue.
At the bottom of the mailbox under the last email it says and if you click it will get those messages.  This gets caught in an endless loop of checking for mail and then eventually times out with all these emails inaccessible.  Obivously like most people I've got my mails organized so accessing folders is kind of critical email functionality.
Anyone else out there with Yahoo mail problems having this one as well?  Would like to solve before I go through the hassle of migrating everything to one of my gmails.
    Thanks

this is total bullshit. so frustrated with this nonsense.

  • When in yahoo mail I can't move mail into the drop down folders below HTheeninyaabout the 9th folder I the drop down menu.

When in yahoo mail I can't move my read mail into the drop down folders below about the 9th folder in the drop down menu.  What am I doing wrong?

To all, embarrassingly enough, I have discovered that I didn't know how to expand the three categories including 'Bookmarks Menu' in the 'Bookmark This Page' pop up interface. It was expanded by default on the initial Firefox opening and first page bookmark attempt. Next use it only showed categories. I clicked and double clicked the 'Bookmarks Menu' line, but failed to see the small, shaded triangle used to expand/collapse list. If it appears collapsed, just tap triangle at left of line to see all folders. It seems to open the same way after I do it for first time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for all the attempts to help.
