Yahoo mail is not pushing!!!!! Help

I have the push settings on. But everytime the phone sits around all day, it doesn't push. I have to always open up my mail to get it. Is it Yahoo or the phone's fault????

I had a call 3-wk's ago with an APPLE Applications Specialist regarding "PUSH" in general and learned the following:
1. Not all ISP's (in my case Verizon), provide PUSH capabilities.
2. Specialist dropped a few ISP's in the process and I don't believe YAHOO was one that provided PUSH(?) You will need to check with them or READ BELOW on what you can do to check this on your iPHONE...
3. Mobile.Me provides PUSH as does MS Exchange Server's and gmail
4. On a side note, there have been reported issues of "FETCH" not working as it should, whereas, it may not fetch at the selected intervals (15-min, 30-min, 60-min) and APPLE is aware of this
To CHECK and see if your ISP does SUPPORT "PUSH", do the following:
* SETTINGS > FETCH NEW DATA > Scroll down to ADVANCED field > Select the email account(s) field you have activated. (if you have deactivated one of your email accounts, as I do with my MS Exchange when I am in my home office in front of my laptop, you will have to activate it in order to check its PUSH availability out)
... from there, you will note two or three available fields (Fetch; Manual or PUSH), with a check mark by one of them.
... if your email account(s) only show "Fetch" or "Manual" as options, then your ISP does NOT support PUSH (as my Verizon FiOS ISP does not), therefore, you are limited to only "Fetch" capabilities
... if your email account(s) show all three options (Fetch, Manual & PUSH) then your ISP "HAS" PUSH capabilities... as does my business related MS Exchange server does.

  • If your Yahoo mail is not pushing...

... try turning off any other email accounts, and just leave Yahoo turned on. See if that does anything. Let us know.

At the moment it's working for me. I have 2 other email accounts set up (.Mac and Yahoo Small Business). I must say that it is not as consistent as I would like. Sometimes it works flawlessly and other times it takes a day for the email message to arrive!

    Hello tifftann,
I'm sorry, I'm a bit unclear what exactly you mean when you say that your Yahoo account "stop[ed] working". • Yahoo mail will not accept password on new iphone 5

Yahoo mail will not accept my password and load e-mails.  What to do?

I e-mailed Yahoo for help with Yahoo mail and was given the following instructions:  Remove Yahoo account from your iPhone, turn the phone off and back on, and then re-add to trigger a re-sync on your Yahoo acccount.  This worked with no problem!!  I was also given a link for a Yahoo Help article which I have included below.  For those of you who are having issues, I hope this solves them!

My Yahoo Mail is not Working on any of my Apple devices,  It attempts to download new email but then stops.  Any ideas?

I, too, am having a problem with my Yahoo email account on my first generation IPad. I can't download my emails to my IPad from the server. The IPad looks like it's trying to download them but can't do it. I am able to send emails from my IPad with my Yahoo account.
This problem started yesterday, Aug., 25th, the day after I uploaded the last update from Apple. I am able to set up another email account through Sbcglobal that will download my emails to my IPad but it is not sync'ed with my desktop mail which creates a mess when I move or delete emails.
I've tried deleting my Yahoo account and then adding it back. Also I've reset my IPad and I've done a full restore.
I think it has something to do with the last update, which I believe was a security update, which may have reset the firewall. That's just a guess.
Has anyone figures out anything else?

What do you mean your Yahoo mail isn;t working? If you are talking about it not working in the mail app, remove your account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add it again. Then follow the instructions here to recover your Apple ID password.

  • My yahoo mail is not syncing to any of my apple devices

My yahoo mail is not syncing to any of my apple devices. They have all be in use for some time and just stopped overnight. Any suggestions as to how to resolve?

It could be something that yahoo has done in their perpetual 'improvements'. Beyond removing and readding your info there's not much you can do but wait it out. If Yahoo has broken it, yahoo has to fix it.
In the past I've accessed my yahoo via mobile safari and I believe they also have their own mail app, you may want to explore those as a work around until it resolves.

  • Yahoo mail is not downloading to iPhone Mail

My yahoo mail is no longer downloading the the iPhone Mail area.  It looks like it's trying to download, but flashes and goes away.  New Mail is not received.  I've tried removing yahoo mail (multiple times), rebooting iphone.  Everything that I know of with no luck.
    I'm on version 4.3.5 (8L1)

Same thing here. in hangs in the inbox, says "Load More Messages" but refuses to push them through. I called Apple for two hours over the weekend, no help. I have the issue on an IPAD 2, IPHONE 3G, and IPOD 4G, same email refuses to download inbox messages. I also emailed yahoo several times to their mobile support, computer support, server support, and keep getting the same idiotic pre-composed email with "settings" instructions. The bastards won't even read the emails. I also read about deleting all your folders and trying it afterwards, same crap. No luck. I have Hard reset all three devices, restored, all three, clean re-installed all three delted accounts repeatedly no LUCK! Someone help apple doesn't and neither does yahoo!

  • Yahoo mail will not, "Load More Messages" on iPhone 3gs

When I go into my Yahoo mail account using the iPhone's mail app, scroll down to the bottom of my list in my inbox, and press the, "Load More Messages" button it will not load more. It's really making me upset. Anyone else having this problem? I have more messages to load but it just refuses to load them. Please help!
    Thanks alot.

Hey Alan thanks again for the advice but what you suggested did not help/work. On my Yahoo account there is still and option to load more messages, but when I push it, it sadly still fails to load anymore messages. Question? Do the messages have to be unread for them to load? This is really starting to bug me because I can't go back and look at my old emails.
Also with my hotmail account it still will not even give me the option to load more messages. It's really frustrating.
And a final note: I tried to add my yahoo account on my wife's iPhone and it behaved exactly the same way (meaning it would give me the option to load more messages but when I asked it to, none would load)
    Sad face.

  • I can log into my yahoo home page using Firefox. I can't link from my yahoo page to yahoo mail using Firefox. Help!

I get a failure message saying: “The requested URL /mc/welcome was not found on this server. Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) PHP/5.2.6-1+lenny9 with Suhosin-Patch Server at us.mc1120.mail.yahoo.com Port 80″ I have deleted all cookies, flushed my DNS and temp files. Problem persists... I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 3.6 and then upgraded to Firefox 4. Firefox appears to function okay in all my other browsing use. If I use IE as a browser The yahoo mail link functions correctly. I suspect that Firefox or an add-on that I don’t see listed under tools/ add-ons may be rejecting the URL “redirect” as a Phishing .attempt??? This has been going on for 2 weeks several attempts a day. Don’t just say the server is busy , try later because Firefox fails, IE works as well as the IE Tab for Firefox problem revolves around Firefox and yahoo email. I have run Norton and Spy sweeper too no problems. When I enable the Google toolbar I will get a similar error "Oops! This link appears broken." Any Help GREATLY appreciated!

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file ''cookies.sqlite'' that stores the cookies is corrupted.
You can rename (or delete) '''cookies.sqlite''' (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete '''cookies.sqlite-journal''' and '''cookies.txt''', if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

  • E-mails are not pushing automatically

I have the I-phone 3G and this past week my e-mails have stopped pushing to my phone. I have it set so that they push out automatically every 15 minutes. I noticed that I havent been getting e-mails so I went into my mailbox and I had 40 e-mails that the server was holding. So now I have to go in and manually check to see if I have any e-mails. Has anyone else had this problem?
Message was edited by: [email protected]

If you have the account set to automatically check the incoming mail server for new messages every 15 minutes, messages are not being pushed from the account's incoming mail server. This is a Fetch setting.
The only email accounts that support Push access for received messages with the iPhone's Mail app is an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync, a MobileMe account, and a Yahoo account that is created with the Yahoo account preset.
Try powering your iPhone off and on and if no change, try an iPhone reset which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. An iPhone reset does not affect and data or settings.
FYI - unless you don't care about receiving spam, you should not include an email address with a posting at a public discussions area like this and the same for being used as an alias.
Is this problem with your Yahoo account on your iPhone? If so, I have seen more problems reported here in regards to a Yahoo account than with any other email account provider.

  • Yahoo Mail Inbox Not Working

It seems that the Yahoo Mail Inbox has stopped fetching any messages (old or new). It will get all email from other Yahoo Mail folders... just not the inbox. I want to say it's been a problem for the last 2-3 days. The status message on the iPhone just says "Checking for Mail" and hangs.
Anyone else having this same problem?
    Thanks.

For better or for worse, this solution below works, found at iLounge. I'd love to know what constitutes a "corrupt email" (that is fine by PC/browser but the iPhone can't handle).

I called an Apple tech and have a solution for the problem stated by the OP and myself:
    1) Login your Yahoo account from your computer
    2) Create a folder named InboxTest and move every email sitting in your Inbox into this new folder.
    3) Compose a new email from Yahoo and send it to yourself (the Yahoo account that isn't working)
    4) Close your browser, do not check/read your Yahoo account from your computer
    5) Go to your iPhone > Mail > Yahoo > Inbox and tap the refresh button
5a) There is a possibility that the email you sent yourself got diverted to your Bulk/Junk folder automatically so if you don't see anything check that folder
5b) You may need to reset your iPhone (hold home + sleep button)
After you restart your iPhone, your InboxTest folder should show up, and your Inbox should be downloading new emails correctly. If your Inbox starts working again, do not open the InboxTest folder from your iPhone -- you will need to login from your computer again and go through the various emails in the InboxTest folder, one of them is corrupt or caused the issue to begin with... so delete any that you don't need
I hope this helps, it's the procedure as I could remember it when I was talking to the Apple tech... it may not be step by step but I think it will work -- if not just call Apple.

  • ** Yahoo Mail setup not working! **

Just purchased a brand new iPad, but am unable to setup Yahoo Mail on the iPad's Mail application.
I am setting it up directly through the iPad - not via sync.
I keep getting an error that the username or password is incorrect after choosing the Yahoo Mail option, and entering the information, and waiting for it to authenticate. The message i get is: "username or password is incorect from "imap.apple.yahoo.mail.com"
the username and password are both correct: i am able to access yahoo webmail using both my regular mac safari browser, and the safari browser on the iPad itself, without a problem.
I tried deleting the account and re-setting it up several times, using the yahoo mail option. i get the same result
I even reset the password to one that did not have capital letters, in case there was a case sensitivity issue.
It is a "free" yahoo account (as opposed to yahoo plus), but my understanding is that this should not be an issue.
very frustrating to spend $900 for this device, and not even have basic email functionality... this was the primary reason i bought the device.
Any help or suggestions are very much appreciated.
    [email protected]

hey, if you read up a few posts... i was able to resolve my problem with yahoo mail:
<<<after further research, it turns out that there are in fact periodic problems on Yahoo's end that cause this error creating a Yahoo mail account on a new iPad. While several repeated attempts to create the account failed at the time, i tried again a day later and it was successful. So problem solved.>>>
It appears that many people have had this problem with Yahoo. It must happen from time to time, something with the servers on yahoo's end. the error they give you isnt very helpful in figuring it out.
I suggest you wait a day, delete the account you tried to create... and recreate it not manually but using the built in mail setup, choosing yahoo mail. Keep trying until it works, because it appears the problem is on yahoo's end not yours.
Oh and whatever you do, don't let anyone tell you (especially yahoo) that the reason is because you don't have a paid yahoo account and yours is a free email account. My free yahoo account, and many others, all work just fine.
Hope this helps, let us know that you were able to make it work. Obviously this is a rather widespread problem that either yahoo or apple should address.
