Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Visio - bug - The server failed to process the request

    Hi
When uploading a visio diagram into one of our sharepoint document libraries we then get a 'The Server failed to process the Request' error when we then try and view the document in the Web Browser. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks

I understand that this is an old thread. The following might be useful to other readers engaging this issue in the future.
I experienced the same error message when provisioning a new instance of the Visio Graphics Service application for a new farm.  I first tested the approach presented by sjb500 and found that this approach did resolve the problem.  I then
explored using a more limited permission approach.  Over the course of several attempts, I eventually found that I only need map the application pool identity to the SPDataAccess role to resolve the problem:

This appears to be an error message which has it roots in MS DTC, Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator.
This indicates that you somewhere manage to get a distributed transaction. This could be because of two things:
    1) There are triggers on the tables that accesses linked server.
    2) Your client code dabbles with some transaction class, like TransactionScope or similar.

  • Is anyone getting this message when trying to access Yahoo Email?  "Cannot Get Mail, The connection to the server failed?"

Is anyone getting this message when trying to access Yahoo Email?  "Cannot Get Mail, The connection to the server failed?"

I have Yahoo mail (POP) account.  Mine is working fine at present.  I do occasionally get asked for password while sending mail.  I have had your issue in the past and it usually clears up in a few hours.  Sometimes I sign out and then back in and it starts working again.

  • Yahoo Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed

iPhone 4s with latest version of iOS.
A few days ago my Yahoo Mail stopped connecting, and I started seeing the above noted error message (Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed.)  While it won't retrieve messages, it will let me send.  So at least SMTP seems to be working OK.
I've tried deleting it and adding it back, but to no avail.  I've rebooted the phone.  I've and any combination of options found on these boards.  Yet, the problem persists.  Anyone experience something like this before?  If so, any fix for it?

I contacted Yahoo.  Gave them all the information.  They acknowledged that they are having an issue and that they are working to resolve it.
One temporary measure that does work with the Mail App.  Add the Yahoo account manually. In other words, click on Other (at the bottom of the list) instead of Yahoo when adding your account, and use these settings.

  • Exchange Sync issues - Cannot get mail - the connection to the server faile

Since the upgrade to 2.2, I seem to be having a very frustrating mail issue that i cant seem to fix.
While trying to download my mail from my INBOX (on an exchange server) i get an error message - "Cannot get mail - the connection to the server failed"
ALTHOUGH when syncing my Sent mails, Calendar and contacts i have no issues.
I have tried rebooting the iphone as well as deleting my mail settings and reloading. The reloading was close to working as the iphone did download some messages (in the inbox) but stops someway through it and gives me the error message. Once i get the error message the phone will not download anymore / other mail messages.
Please can someone offer some suggestions.

Hope this helps someone like me, who has trying to figure out what went wrong. I have an iPhone 3G and ActiveSync to Exchange 2003 was working perfect for month's. All of a sudden today it stopped syncing my inbox and my battery just about died? Searched and Searched, rebooted Exchange, removed email account info, still not luck keep getting "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed" message. The weird thing is I could get to my sent items, Calendar and AD contacts? But a thread in another Apple forum opened my eyes to what the problem was...a corrupt email in my inbox. Not sure what email it was I pretty much deleted every email I had after the last one I received on the iPhone. But it fixed the problem, no messing with Exchange virtual directories...nothing...just deleted a corrupt email!
    Hope this helps someone.....

  • I am having a problem accessing my Yahoo email account.  It keeps saying, cannot get mail, the connection to the server failed.  Then I put my email in settings and it works but this happens constantly.  Anyone having this problem?

My Yahoo email asks me daily for my email password or says the connection to the server failed.  Is anyone having this problem currently?  I noticed old messages in chat mentioned the same problem.  I get into my Yahoo email fine on my desktop computer for several weeks without re entering a password.  But the IPad does not seem to be connecting daily with Yahoo without putting a password in again.

So, I didn't change anything and now it is working better. I still get the odd error though.
I have a feeling this has something to do with the SSL update Apple released and it was their server side.

  • HT4623 I have an IPhone4 S which when using Outlook suddenly displays the following warning: CANNOT GET MAIL.THE CONNECTION TO THE SERVER FAILED

    Hello,
I bought a used Apple IPHONE 4S about 6 weeks ago. For all this past period, it was working beautifully. This morning, I started having poblems with connecting JUST on OUTLOOK or Hotmail and on Microsoft Exchange. All other programs, such as Gmail, Yahoo as well as other apps, such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Facetime, are ALL working properly.
the One problem I am having is when I try to log onto my Outlook ( ex Hotmail) account, I get a window with the following warning:
"CANNOT GET MAIL. THE CONNECTION TO THE SERVER FAILED"
I have done everything to solve it from taking out the card to switching it off to resetting the network to deleting my account to re-starting ..NOTHING worked.
PLEASE can you advise me what to do? The Network server was working great. So what happened and how can i fix it?
    Thank you
    Nina ...

The issue isn't with Apple/iphone or your network.
The issue is with Hotmail, there have been a ton of threads on this already with other user having issues.
You'll have to wait until hotmail resolves the issue.

    Hi StuNYC,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? Take a look at the article below, it provides suggestions that will resolve most issues that  cause an alert like that to appear in when starting the Mail app.

  • HT2480 Ipad mini - exchange email stopped working randomly  Error: "Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed."

I got an iPad mini over Christmas and have had no issues setting up/managing my email until yesterday. I've had my Exchange email working for almost a month, and yesterday I stopped getting emails and getting the error: "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed."
I tried resetting the device (multiple times) and deleting and recreating the Exchange account (multiple times). This is getting annoying because it worked fine up until yesterday. I'm not aware of any updates to the device, or any changes that have occurred since yesterday.

Due to a screen issue, I had my iPhone 5 replaced two days ago. I repeated deleted the mail account and kept adding it but this did not make any difference. When I attempted to setup the new phone with my Google (Gmail via exchange active sync) accounts I was receiving this same "Cannot Get Mail" error. From what I was able to gather, this problem should be affecting Gmail accounts set up via Exchange. When originally purchasing the phone I was assisted and directed to set up my Gmail account through Exchange because it had the ability to use "ActiveSync" and push not only mail and calendars, but all of my contacts as well. I found this article regarding the subject.
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2413283,00.asp
What it came down to was having to delete my Gmail via Exchange account and separate it into two different accounts, a regular gmail account for my mail and a CardDAV account for my contacts.
Here is what I did. Google is changing their system and for new registrars Exchange ActiveSync will not work so you will be unable to register your account via Exchange and have your mail, calenders, and contacts all pushed together. I find this change really annoying. If you are having problems accessing your contacts after deleting the mail account, like I was, here is the work around.
To circumvent this issue go to Setting > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDAV Account: Under server ender google.com, then your email user name and password, then click next to verify the information.
    I hope this helps.
