Yahoo Mail not working properly in Firefox

Cannot compose mai, it just keeps trying to load it, or delete mail. Have reloaded, completely deleted Firefox, downloaded latest version again...nothing helps - help!!!

Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

  • SMS in YAHOO mail not working in Firefox

In the drop down box for Yahoo Mail, Compose Message, if I click on SMS, it just turns a little blue and then sits there. Nothing happens. No SMS box, nothing. I was able to freely send and receive SMS messages up until about 3 days ago. It will not work in Mozilla Firefox, no matter what I do. If I go to Internet Explorer, it DOES work. I have the 9.0.1 Firefox version, which I updated to about 2 weeks ago.

Unless Yahoo changed something, which certainly is possible, the suggested approach is the usual:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove your Yahoo cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove your Yahoo cookies without affecting other sites.
Then try reloading the page and logging back in. Any improvement?
To rule out extensions as a possible culprit, could you try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
''Flash and other plugins still run in Safe Mode''
After Firefox closes, a small dialog should display. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?
Some users have reported that older bookmarks or home pages do not redirect to the latest Yahoo server correctly. As a workaround, try accessing mail through the home page (www.yahoo.com or att.yahoo.com or whichever one it happens to be).

  • Gasbuddy web site not working properly with firefox, but working fine with explorer

I've noticed when I load the web site gasbuddy.com, it is not working properly. It does load, just not performing like it should. When I try using gasbuddy.com on explorer 9, it works fine. I've already tried working in safe mode and that didn't solve the problem with gasbudy.com. Any suggestions as to how to fix the problem? I did do some prior investigating, and I'm very cautious about removing my cookies. It seems when I do that procedure, I lose too much info on certain web sites----weather.com, weatherunderground, etc. Just not sure how to remove cookies to solve a problem with out causing other problems? Thank you.

I'm glad we were able to figure it out. Many sites are designed with stretchy columns that work with either full zoom or text-only zoom, but definitely not all of them.

  • Yahoo mail not working in firefox anymore

Ever since last week yahoo mail has stopped working in firefox, the page loads but everything I click on doesn't open. I don't know what has changed since then. I upgraded to firefox 28 prior to it and it worked fine for about a week then all of a sudden yahoo stopped. I think it is a yahoo problem because it only works in Chrome now not very well in Safari either but since I use firefox the most I wanted to know if anyone else was having trouble with this as well

Have you tried to clear the cache or can you try opening in Private Window mode and tell whether it works or not.

  • Yahoo Mail not working in the Mail App

I have an issue with my mail app on my Mac.  I use my Yahoo email account with it and for some reason now it wont work.  When I go in to the preferenc on Mail and chack the settings of my email Yahoo account, it says that the account is offline. I have removed the account and re-added it again and it's still doing it.  It also does it with my Gmail account as I tried that thinking it may be an issue with my Yahoo details.
The web versions of both email accounts are working all OK.
I have spoke to Apple Care who were unable to offer me help with this issue.
I am trying to find out how to contact Yahoo to ask them, but as yet am finding it hard to do so.
I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 and Mail 7.2.
    Any advice, would be great.
    Thanks...

Are you getting a server error?   Try fixing the outgoing and incoming server.  I have had that problem before.
I have the same problem right now.  The past solutions are not working.
If you find something, let me know.

  • Using MacBook Pro mid 2010 OS X 10.2.1 FF 29, yahoo mail not working.

This is a new problem, since the last FF upgrade. When I access my yahoo mail account, I can compose or open one message, then cannot continue, a freeze occurs. I have to go back to the mail icon, click on it, and then compose, to write another message. It all works smoothly in Safari. I have searched the posted suggestions and completed all: empty the cache, cookies deleted. All to no success. This problem is now about one week old.

Restarting in the "safe mode" answered the problem. While in Firefox, go to Help pull-down menu, select Restart with Add-Ons Disabled, then a pop-up box will ask if you want to Restart with add-ons disabled, select that.
Unfortunately, now all the adds appear during my inbox mail screen and I do believe that was the problem, but I am happy to have control over the mail account again. (This solution was suggested as an answer to someone else and I thought I would try it, because that person complained of the mail account in "Rogers.com" freezing with Firefox.)

  • Yahoo mail not working on iMac

Yahoo mail works on iPad- worked for two days on iMac now it doesn't work.  I may delete and reinstall.  Is there a way i can install for just new email and not all of my history?  Thanks.  Any and all suggestions will help. Thanks.

If you delete that account all will be instantly gone from it.
You can move the current Mails/boxes for that account to another Mailbox you make.
Without Mail running of course, you could in the Finder Move those folders to a safe place, & theoretically put them back after starting Mail, deleting that account, create the Account, quit Mail, move the folders back.
But what does Mail's Connection Doctor say?
