Yahoo Mail Plus Deleting Messages ?

The touch apparently does not give you the option of either deleting your Yahoo! messages from the Yahoo! server after downloading them, or leaving them on the Yahoo! server so you can see them online.
When I delete them from the touch they are still available online. Is there a way to change this ?

They don't, they say your other e-mail program should offer this option.
In your Gmail account do you have HTMl images blocked ? If so does this option carry over to the touch ?

  • Can't Send Using Yahoo Mail Plus Account

I'm a Yahoo Mail Plus subscriber and am having problems sending mail with the Apple iPhone. I only have this problem with my Yahoo Mail Plus account. A second (free) Yahoo account works fine, as does a GMail account.
Other Yahoo Mail Plus users are reporting the same issue:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmTc9jW..OVhgxNaeShTn4ojzKIX?qid=20 070705064711AAuaye0
My problem is that when I send an e-mail on my Yahoo Mail Plus account, it is not received by the recipient, nor does a copy appear in my sent mail folder on the Yahoo server. I don't receive any error message -- the mail just never is sent.
I spoke with an Apple store genius and he suggested deleting the Yahoo Mail Plus account settings on my iPhone and then setting it up again. I did this and it worked for the first 2-3 messages, but did not work again after that (once I had already ended my Genius Bar appointment). I tried deleting my Yahoo Mail Plus account settings a second time later and got the same result -- I was able to send 1-2 messages but none after that.
My other free Yahoo Mail account is working fine on the iPhone (send/receive) as is a GMail account. And all accounts work properly when accessed directly via a web browser.
Apple has a support doc about sending e-mail on the iPhone, but this relates to ISP port blocking and doesn't seem to apply to my situation as it happens in various locations with different WiFi providers, as well as when on AT&T's Edge network.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305634
I even had the problem in the Apple store using their WiFi network, which presumably doesn't have port issues.
Anyone else having the same problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

after reading how free accounts works fine and plus accounts tends not to, i think its safe to say this is a yahoo problem. the iphone yahoo wizard is probably meant for free accounts, but plus accounts are setup differently.

  • Yahoo Mail Plus and Mail

    Hi,
I just setup my yahoo mail plus with MAIL in my new macbook. When i open mail, it download the entire emails from yahoo mail's server... i dont want this because it take ages to download.
how can i retrieve " new and unread" email only?
    hope someone reply soon. thanks!

Since this is the first time that Mail has connected to Yahoo!, all email there is "new and unread", so it will download everything. The only way around that is for you to delete everything you've already read previously, then connect with Mail and download the remaining email.
At the same time, you need to setup Mail to delete the messages from the Yahoo! servers immediately after it downloads them to Mail.

  • How can I sync iPhone "Notes" with Notes Folder in Yahoo Mail Plus Account?

I am trying to sync my iPhone 3gs "Notes" (ios 5.0.1) with my Yahoo Mail Plus Account.  In "Settings", "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", "Yahoo Mail" Account , the "Notes" button is turned ON.  When I open my Yahoo Mail Account on my PC, a "Notes" Folder has been created, but it is EMPTY.
How can I get the data in my iPhone Notes application to show up in my Yahoo Mail Plus "Notes" Folder?
    Message was edited by: marose0001

There is now a separate Notes application. It is not part of Mail.

  • E63 Yahoo email set up without Yahoo mail plus

Is there a way to set up Yahoo mail to my E63 device without  a Yahoo mail plus account?
I have a standard Yahoo mail account. When I go to mail options, and trying to set up POP & Forwarding, I will not be able to do anything without upgrade to mail plus. Is there a way to get around this? I do not want to use Yahoo mobile either. Thanks for your help.

    @ Weitl
I use emoze and have tried seven.  Seven works great but drains battery and uses lots of memory.  Emoze mail will work with yahoo regular mail.  http://www.emoze.com/.    http://www.seven.com/.  Both work great.  Seven integrates a little better into native messaging application with contacts but I prefer emoze.

  • Problems with Yahoo Mail Plus

I have a Yahoo Mail Plus account and I can get my mail through Outlook 2007 without any problem, but I cannot receive (muchless send) any e-mail on my iPod Touch.
My incoming mail server is plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com and my outgoing mail server is plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I've deleted and recreated my account on my Touch, and I've deleted my account and had it recreated when I've synced with iTunes. Neither of these methods have worked. My password is correct and I know I've got a WiFi connection because I can go anywhere I like on the internet using Safari.
    Can anybody help me? Please???

    Try this:
1.) Go to settings (or if you don't have an account setup, just go to the mail app)
2.) Don't touch the yahoo icon. Hit "other"
3.) Select POP from the top 3 buttons
4.) enter your name, email address ([email protected]) and your password
5.) Enter the host name for the incoming mail server (for yahoo mail, it should be "pop.mail.yahoo.com ". Enter your user name (without the @yahoo.com) and then enter your password you use.
6.) Enter the host name for the outgoing mail server. It should be "smtp.mail.yahoo.com "
This was posted by a friend that said he got it working this way - I have not tested as I have no Yahoo! account.
Here is another set of instructions I found online - again, NOT tested by me.
    1) Open yahoo mail
    2) Click "options" tab in upper right corner
    3) In center column click "pop access and fowarding"
    4) Make sure there is a blue dot where it says Web and POP access, if not click there so that it does. You may also decide your spam choices here.
    5) Click "save" in upper left corner underneath where it says mail
Now go back to your touch
    1) open settings on the touch
    2) tap mail
    3) tap add account
    4) tap other
    5) tap POP
    6) put your name in
    7) add your yahoo email address
    8) it will show your yahoo account again as the description
    9) under incoming server mail host name, type in pop.mail.yahoo.com
    10) type in your user name
    11) type in your password
    12) under outgoing mail server host name, type in smtp.mail.yahoo.com:465
    13) type in your user name
    14) type in your password
    15) tap advanced
    16) under advanced make sure that SSL is on, authentication is set to password
and that the server port is 995 for incoming and 465 for outgoing

  • Yahoo Mail Plus popping from Exchange Server 2003 Issue

Hi, while I know that this is a little off topic, I really want to try the Yahoo direct push email solution with my iPhone. My problem is that when I configure the Yahoo Mail Plus service to retrieve emails from my corporate exchange server, it fails with a time-out error message. The really confusing part with all of this is that Gmail works perfectly. I know that I am put in the correct parameters, since Gmail has no problem popping my email from the exchange server. Is there anything special I need to have done to make this work? Here's a sample of the information I am using to configure Yahoo to retrieve my email:
    Server: mail.corporateserver.com
    port #: 995 (secure pop 3)
username: same as my domain name in MS Active Directory
password: same as used to login to MS Active Directory.
Again, this configuration works perfectly on Gmail. If Gmail could push to my iPhone, I would just stick with it. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jules

  • Lion Mail creates a new folder in Yahoo Mail called "Sent Messages"

For some reason, since updating to 10.7.5, Mail no longer puts sent messages into the proper "Sent" folder of my Yahoo accounts. It creates a new folder in Yahoo Mail called "Sent Messages" and stores them there. This new folder is only visible from iOS devices' Mail or by logging into Yahoo through a web browser. Lion Mail doesn't sync this new folder, for whatever reason.
Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this or has found a fix.

Okay, thanks to nobody for their help.  But I figured it out anyway.  Somehow there was a rule which had the "if-then" result of "move to (my wife's name) mailbox" -- so when such an email arrived, Mail would have to create the (previously-deleted) mailbox in order to follow the rule.  So I just deleted that rule.

  • Yahoo Mail - "Cannot Send Message"

    Hello,
I am having issues with Yahoo mail and sending messages. It seems to happen specifically while trying to send emails with attachments. I receive an error that says "Error sending message" and alludes to a connection problem but I don't see any detailed error information with it.
The MacBook connects either directly to a Ethernet cable or wireless to a NetGear WGR602.
I don't know much about Safari but are there are settings I can modify to see if the issue can be resolved? The user says that she does not have this problem at home but only when she is on this network.
Has anyone encountered this and have any tips I can try to resolve it? When I get some time to sit and work on the laptop I will check to see what versions all of the software is at. Right now I have only had a few minutes to sit at the MacBook and observe the errors.
    Thanks in advance!

Short of installing Firefox or moving directly to Mac Mail, is there anything I can look to do either with Safari or the Yahoo interface itself?
Not really. If the user has a free Yahoo! Mail account, they can't use Mail to send/receive anyway; they'd have to pay $20 a year for a Yahoo! Mail Plus account for that privilege.
Yahoo! has never made any real effort to be standards-compliant, much less compatibile with Macintosh, which is why some features work only when using Firefox on a Mac (because Firefox is the second-most popular browser for Windoze). The only other thing the user could do is use the Yahoo! Help pages for Yahoo! Mail and send them an email using their web form about their problem and see if they can address the issue on their end, since it is their problem. He/She should make it crystal-clear that they are using Safari for Mac OS X, and if they get a boilerplate reply about IE, reply to that and ask for a supervisor.
They could also try using the Develop menu in Safari to select a different User Agent in the hope that spoofing an IE browser will make it work, but there's no guarantee with that. They could just resign themselves to using Firefox when using Yahoo! Mail, or they could also try switching to the "Classic" Yahoo! Mail interface, which will have some limitations in features, but it may also avoid this problem when sending some email.

  • Are there adv/disadv to Yahoo Mail Plus v. using basic mail progr w iMac

I am brand new Mac user, switching from Dell laptop to iMac. Have had mail sent through Yahoo Mail Plus to Outlook for years. Unsure whether this is good idea now that I'm switching to iMac. Yahoo subscription due immediately so need to make decision. Thanks!

    Hey Adorone,
This is the iPhone Mail, Contacts and Calendar forum. The Forum for 10.5 Mail and Address Book is located here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1223
If you want to keep using the email client on your computer and not using the web based mail, you'll need the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. With that service you get POP access.
You can enter the POP information in the Mail.app in Mac OS X, like you entered in Outlook.

  • Palm Centro Issue With Yahoo Mail Plus POP via Versamail

I have a Palm Centro and have been using Versamail for 3 1/2 years with my Yahoo Mail Plus account via POP. On September 12th I stopped having the ability to send or receive POP email on my Yahoo Mail Plus account. I have spoken with Sprint & Yahoo. I have done all the steps they have asked and I have even gone as far as replacing my phone with another Palm Centro and still have the same issue. I know the config is correct as it was working for so long. I can use my Gmail POP in Versamail fine. I receive the error when setting up the Yahoo Mail Plus account in Versamail when I click on "Test Settings" I receive the following... "Error connecting to server. Please check your network or server settings and re-sync." Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks.
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

actually some e-mail providers like yahoo free account, msn mail and free hot mail does not work with the mail application, as you told me that it needs to enable the pop server for such mail
and about the iphone are you sure that ur using the mail application in iphone, you must be using safari to browse through ur mails
yahoo mail plus is compatible with the mail application but it comes for a price so here you could either use safari to go through your mail or go in for some other free account like AOL which will work with the mail application

  • Anyone using Yahoo Mail Plus?

    Hello!
I would like to know what your experiences have been using Yahoo Mail Plus with Mail on your Mac.
I am considering upgrading to Yahoo Mail Plus as my ISP has some wonky settings for their mail servers and at times important email doesn't get through. Thus I think that some contract and employment opportunities have been missed.
I acknowledge that web based email is akin to postcards, but security is not really the issue. The issue is getting my communications and anyone who has emailed me via Yahoo has always gotten through.
Any and all comments welcome, as well as suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Norm
