Yahoo Mail Sub Accounts

Hi
Have managed to setup a sub account for my wife but when I log out and she goes to log in we just get a message saying that the User Name and log in are not recognised. Anyone know why, any help would be great.

Hi
That link appears to be for me to change my password. Mine is working fine it is just sub accounts that it does not recognise.
I have just tried it and changed the password on one of my sub accounts.
You enter the sub account you wish to change
You answer the security questions for the main account holder
You can then change the sub address password. It does not change the primary account password.
Its done that way to prevent sub account holders changing their password without permission from the main account holder.

    Hi.
Can you pop back and edit the initial post in this thread to remove the email address ?
I've just created one, and the info says :-
    "Congratulations, your sub-account ..."
which is slightly different wording to yours.
The "more info" item also shows as blank on my Firefox screen, though the source is pretty much all javascript, so could well be browser specific, or just bad coding.
However my sub account was fine (actually created 2).
Have you tried emailing the sub account to see if you get any bounce message ? It could be that the login problem is due to the issue that some people have to login to their accounts. It may start working after a few more days.
Have you tried more than once to add the same email address, and getting the "congratulations" message each time ?

  • Can't Send Using Yahoo Mail Plus Account

I'm a Yahoo Mail Plus subscriber and am having problems sending mail with the Apple iPhone. I only have this problem with my Yahoo Mail Plus account. A second (free) Yahoo account works fine, as does a GMail account.
Other Yahoo Mail Plus users are reporting the same issue:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmTc9jW..OVhgxNaeShTn4ojzKIX?qid=20 070705064711AAuaye0
My problem is that when I send an e-mail on my Yahoo Mail Plus account, it is not received by the recipient, nor does a copy appear in my sent mail folder on the Yahoo server. I don't receive any error message -- the mail just never is sent.
I spoke with an Apple store genius and he suggested deleting the Yahoo Mail Plus account settings on my iPhone and then setting it up again. I did this and it worked for the first 2-3 messages, but did not work again after that (once I had already ended my Genius Bar appointment). I tried deleting my Yahoo Mail Plus account settings a second time later and got the same result -- I was able to send 1-2 messages but none after that.
My other free Yahoo Mail account is working fine on the iPhone (send/receive) as is a GMail account. And all accounts work properly when accessed directly via a web browser.
Apple has a support doc about sending e-mail on the iPhone, but this relates to ISP port blocking and doesn't seem to apply to my situation as it happens in various locations with different WiFi providers, as well as when on AT&T's Edge network.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305634
I even had the problem in the Apple store using their WiFi network, which presumably doesn't have port issues.
Anyone else having the same problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

after reading how free accounts works fine and plus accounts tends not to, i think its safe to say this is a yahoo problem. the iphone yahoo wizard is probably meant for free accounts, but plus accounts are setup differently.

  • E-mail sub-accounts

I followed all procedures in the tutorial to set up an e-mail sub-account for e-mail through MY ACCOUNT.  I then created a new identity in Outlook Express 6 for the sub-account, using the tutorial, step-by-step.
However, I cannot send e-mail from my new sub-account.  I can receive e-mail however.
    Here's the error message.
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'my new sub-account e-mail address'. Subject 'test', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Authentication Required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78
Any idea what is going on?

  • How can I sync iPhone "Notes" with Notes Folder in Yahoo Mail Plus Account?

I am trying to sync my iPhone 3gs "Notes" (ios 5.0.1) with my Yahoo Mail Plus Account.  In "Settings", "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", "Yahoo Mail" Account , the "Notes" button is turned ON.  When I open my Yahoo Mail Account on my PC, a "Notes" Folder has been created, but it is EMPTY.
How can I get the data in my iPhone Notes application to show up in my Yahoo Mail Plus "Notes" Folder?

  • How do i set up yahoo mail beta account on mail app?

    Hi everyone!
I would like to set up my yahoo mail beta account in the Mail application. How do I do it correctly?
I've already try it once, but I was only able to receive e-mails not send them. Does someone already has this problem?
Can someone help me please?! I really don't want to use my browser to check my e-mails.
    Thanks!

If you're using Yahoo Plus, you have access to Yahoo's POP3 server, so can use the normal Yahoo detected settings.  Otherwise, there appears to be IMAP access:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=325139
The important thing is imap-ssl.mail.yahoo.com on port 993.
...I've already try it once, but I was only able to receive e-mails not send them...
And SMTP is also SSL for Yahoo, so set the appropriate checkboxes.
I have configured OSX mail and Outlook and can send mail.
My experience is that IMAP-SSL access seems to be a bit slow.  But I also have a a large number of folders in my inbox so perhaps if your inbox is kept "clean" and with few messages, perhaps your experience will be better.

  • Bt Yahoo! Premium mail sub account can't use POP3

    Hi,
Hope there is someone who can help me out with this email problem - I've tried everything I can think of and am still stuck!
I have a btinternet.com premium mail account. The primary account works fine, no problems at all.
I have a sub-account that also used to work fine, but since 9th September 2011 won't pick up email via POP3. I can log into it via webmail, I can post from Mozilla Thunderbird using SMTP, but when I try and pick up the mail via POP I get the following error message:
Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded 'Access to this service is not permitted'.
So, bearing in mind that I'm using the same mail client, the same server settings, the correct password (because I know it works with Webmail), the same firewall settings as the primary account which still works fine, is it reasonable to conclude that this is a BT Yahoo! server issue?
And if so, does anyone have any idea how to get it resolved? I got transferred to the Premium Mail Help Dept, who wanted to be granted remote access to the box and hung up on me when I refused to allow them.
Using the logging facility on Thunderbird, the crucial part of the handshake seems to be this bit:
    0[160f140]: SendUsername()

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Have you tried altering the server to mail.btinternet.com (which is the proper one to use) or maybe pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Have a look at my shortcuts (link below), option 12b - logging in with the sub account. It will tell you the product ID.
I've just tried pop.mail.yahoo.com and get the same message as you

Contact tech support through one of the options on the Contact Us page. Explain the issue and that you need a ticket sent to the "OSC" for this issue to get resolved. If they won't create a ticket for you, ask to speak to a supervisor. (Being polite will get you further than yelling, trust me.)
The error you are getting means that what Verizon has in their system for that account does not match what Yahoo has in their system. This is not something that first-level support is going to be able to resolve.

  • How to change an e-mail sub-account password?

Our e-mail has been hacked. I recently changed my password but don't know how to change my spouse's sub-account password.

Your email account passwords are administered with your email provider. You have to work with them to change the account password. Most providers have a link to reset passwords on their email help page.

  • Cannot Access Yahoo Email Sub Account

This has been going on since 11/21/14 and Verizon tech people have not been able to resolve for me.  They keep telling me an issue with the yahoo portal.  This is such a dissapointment.    You conduct your business alot these days on your phone through email.  How good is it if its not working.  This is occurring on a sub-account only. We are told this is affecting over 5,500 Verizon customers.   Why isn't this resolved yet??  We use to be able to get our emails on our Smart phone and now are unable to,cant access emails on Ipod either.  I call Verizon every few weeks to see if there's been a resolution and I'm told in two weeks, call again, give us another week.  Very dissapointed customer....

    Hi yvette,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
