Yahoo Mail Synchronization with iCloud?

I have both an iCloud mail account and a Yahoo/ATT mail account. I would like to have iCloud handle all my mail in order to simplify things and sunchronize with all my iOS devices and OS X computers. Does anyone know of a way to direct all incoming Yahoo mail to iCloud?

Is your system pre-Lion? Earlier systems are not compliant with iCloud but you can set Mail up manually to access your iCloud email:

Tap the little claendar icon at the top left (next to the search icon) and see what calendars are set up in WeekCal. If none are enabled, then enable the one(s) you want to use.

Cannot log out of yahoo mail comletely with firefox for the past two week or so

Recently I have been unable to log out of yahoo mail completely with firefox. I get the following error message: "The connection has timed out. The server at us.lrd.yahoo.com is taking too long to respond." I have more than one yahoo mail acct. and cannot log into a different acct until the first one is closed out completely. On the error message page there is "Try Again" button. This has occasionally helped but rarely.
I have tried opening FF in safe mode but this has not helped at all. I have used two other browsers to access my yahoo mail to see it the problem was with yahoo or FF. Both browsers repeatedly logged out of yahoo mail without a problem.

I don't think it's a Firefox issue. I switched to Chrome because the newest Yahoo Mail just doesn't work in Firefox, and Mozilla says its a Yahoo problem, which I believe. The email works great while I'm in Chrome, but I can't sign out without going to the Yahoo home page and using that sign out link. Conversely, I CAN sign out in Firefox (been flipping back & forth the past few days trying to figure it out). I just tried it in Internet Explorer and still can't sign out. I never had any Yahoo mail problems in any of these three browsers until the latest version of Yahoo mail came out, and now I just close the browser to sign out -- it's faster, for me anyway.

There is no Mobile Me anymore. It has been gone for several years, now. However, your existing calendar and mail will integrate with iCloud if you enable it on your system.

Yea the icloud mail service seems to be down, cant access it on any device or on the website directly, on the website you get a message asking you to report it to apple.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

You can have as many as you want. Add an account with Mail Preferences > Accounts. Click the "+" button.

Found the answer from another discussion here and it did work in about 2 minutes:
in settings, click mail, contacts , calendars
you need to add two accounts:
one for mail as a Yahoo account
another per the instructions below
Yahoo syncs contacts by adding a CardDAV account:
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Add Account
Tap Other and then tap Add CardDAV Account
For the Server you need to enter carddav.address.yahoo.com
Now type in the Yahoo! ID (full email address) and password you use to sign in to your Yahoo! Contacts
why not all in one? who knows!
Ps. You might have to do several tries with and without the .xxx extesion to the account name

Yahoo mail malfunction with new update 17.0.1

I have downloaded Firefox update 17.0.1 on my windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Now my yahoo mail page
has strikethroughs on tabs "Check mail, go,delete,reply, spam,forward, spam, move, actions tabs across top of email.
Also, the check box to the left of the email is not showing up.
The only way to delete an email is open it up and use delete key. I cannot do a quick sweep of checking multiple boxes at left of email and delete multiple emails at 1 time.
I opened yahoo email in IE and switched between att classic mail and att new mail and the pages look fine. So, it seems to be something with Firefox. All plugins are up to date.

I don't know whether you use the zoom feature, but there are two modes: text only zoom and full zoom. Full zoom proportionally resizes everything, but with text only zoom, words can overflow the space allowed and break the layout. To check:
Alt+v (opens the classic View menu) > Zoom > uncheck Zoom Text Only
You may also want to check whether an add-on is at fault. A standard diagnostic is to use Firefox's Safe Mode, which is described in this article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]. Does that make any difference?

Yahoo Mail Plus with Apple Mail

Hi,
I just finished setup yahoo mail with apple mail, but mail tend to download entire emails from the yahoo server. I dont want this happen, i only want Mail retrieve NEW and UNREAD emails only like what iphone's mail does.
Can anyone advise me what to do please? Thanks!

Dear Lana jL: this is a known issue with Yahoo Plus and Mac mail . You'd either have to use anothei email app
or try this website. I dunno if it works, but it might be worth a try

Me, along with others it sounds lik, cannot access yahoo mail now after downloading IOS6. dont insult me by telling me its a yahoo issue. I get it fine on my phone, just not ipad. it worked perfect before the IOS6

To set up your email account on your iPad:
1. Go to your home page, click on the Settings App.
2. Scroll down on the left side of screen to you find Mail, Contacts, Calendars,
     use a finger or stylus and touch this selection.
3. On the right side of this screen you should see Accounts, Mail, Contacts and
     Calendars with options to choose.
4. Next, in the Accounts box you want to select "Add Account" touch this with a finger or stylus.
5. Now you should see various options of internet emails to select from, select Yahoo or whatever
     provider is part of your email address, such as xxxxx@ aol.com; [email protected], etc.
6. A small new screen should appear, type in the required information, Name, Email address
     (complete address), your email password, and a description such as Mary's or Bill's email.
7. After entering the required information, click on the Next (blue in color) button on top right
     corner of the small screen. A screen should pop-up showing verifying info. and the it goes away.
8. A new screen will appear which will allow you to turn On/Off various functions. When done here
     click on the Save button in top right corner.
9. Once you have your email account set up, you can add other email accounts, etc. You can also
     make your email account the default account (scroll down on the screen till you see Default
     Account). You can also make other changes/settings to your email account on this screen.
You should the iPad Mail App on your home page. If your email account is the default account, all
you have to do is touch this App and your mail should open automatically.

Mail syncing with iCloud

I have an iCloud email account. The iCloud Inbox at iCloud.com matches the corresponding Inbox on my iPhone and two iPads. But the iCloud Inbox in Mail on my iMac does not have the same contents. Is there a way to "force" sync with iCloud? Is there a setting on the iMac in Mail or iCloud preferences to do automatic syncing? I can't think of a reason why my mobile devices seem to sync with iCloud but my iMac does not. Thanks for any thoughts.

Yes I see now, your adding contacts from Mail, not to Mail.
The add a contact feature does exactly the same as it did previously.
If the Contact file on the phone is syncing with address book on your mac then any contact you add or amend from Mail on one device will be added or amended on the other.
