Yahoo mobile site looks horrible after 1.4.1.1

For some reason, after 1.4.1.1 the yahoo mobile website looks horrible, looks like a standard mobile page (like what you would expect on WinMo) rather than the enhanced mobile site. Anyone else having this problem?
m.yahoo.com.

Yes, same here.  The site is showing text only, totally archaic!  I think I saw a thread on Precentral.com about this too.  Hopefully it will be resolved ASAP!

  • Help with exporting. Video looks horrible after export, but great when in premiere pro

Hey guys, looking for some advice on exporting.
When I finish a video, the color and everything looks great while in premiere pro, but after exporting it, the color ends up looking dull and the whole video looks blurry.  I'm filming with a canon vixia hf200 at 60i. It imports as a AVCHD file, I deinterlace it, and then export at the Vimeo HD settings. What can be causing the video to look horrible after exporting? What settings should I be exporting under? Any help would be appreciated!

It looks like you're coming up against some of the colorspace handling issues that the Premiere pipeline has.
Since your source is 60i AVCHD it's HD and thus rec709 colorspace. If it gets encoded with the standard rec601 colorspace (SD sizes are this) then all the colors get crushed. Look for a "709" and "601" radio button in your export settings. If it's not there you're out of luck.
The "blurry" is probably a poor quality de-interlacer. If Vimeo permits interlaced vs progressive do that instead. it's always cleaner to stay in the same video format all the way through.
    TECHNICAL ASIDE:
rec709 is a triangle of possible colors that can be expressed by mixing of ratios of 3 emitters (the R G B corners of the triangle). (they are the RGB phosphors of a CRT and now LCD pixel elements)
rec709 is a bigger triangle than rec601 so it's capable of more colors. but if you accidently map that triangle's corners to the coordinates of rec601 it gets crushed.
In photography the "sRGB" uses the rec709 triangle. A bigger triangle that that is "Adobe RGB". So if you work in Adobe RGB and export to sRGB without conversion the colors get crushed because sRGB in inside the triangle of "Adobe RGB".

  • HT4528 Iphone hacked and remotely controlled on yahoo mobile site

I went to the yahoo mobile site on my iphone 4S through safari and someone took over the key board and started typing into the yahoo search field a message really fast.  My i phone is not jail broken that I know of.  I have not seen any sms with square text.
    What can I do?

    Thanks KiltedTim,
I shut off my phone before I saw the end of the ad.  I am glad you responded because I would not have turned on my phone and gone back to yahoo's mobile site.
My first reaction to seeing someone take over my phone was hacker,,, not ghost.
It seems obvious to me that many others will react the same way to that ad.  Unfortunatly, others might jump to the conclusion they need to protect their identities and take drastic and damaging actions like clearing their phones, and changing credit information bacause of an ad that (in my opinion) was not thought out very well.
This seems like something bound to end up in a lawsuit.

  • GH3 footage looks horrible after import to FCPX

I have mov files from my Panasonic GH3 on my hard drive. After importing them to FCPX footage looks horrible, it's falling apart.  If I open it in quicktime is fine. What am I doing wrong?

What uis this image supposed to show? How are you importing media into the application? What are the media specs? Open in the QT player and report on the movie inspector.

  • Mobile site looks tiny on iphone.

I created a mobile prototype. Looks great on Mobilizer but tiny on the iphone. Although the page renders correctly the type is super small. Anyone knows what the problem can be?
    Thank you!

    Nicole,
Thank you so very much, it worked!

  • Video Looks Horrible after Render?

I am working in a HDV 60i timeline with a mix of 60i and 30f codecs. The video looks great until I render. Once the video is rendered it gets really pixelated and ugly. I usually just export without rendering but when I tried it with this video it took about 15 hours and the final result looked exactly like it does after I render. I checked the render settings and they all looked they they are set to the highest quality. When I dump my render files in the timeline the video goes back to looking good? What the heck?!! Please help!!!! I am using FCP 6.06 Thanks.
    Jeremy

So that is what is weird. The long export looks great now, (after exporting the smaller pieces, and then bringing the smaller pieces back and exporting the long one) The video looks great, plays great in both quicktime and final cut pro. The file doesn't appear to be corrupted...But after 4 different attempts at compressing to Mpeg2,(on different computers) the video crashes while in compressor. This is the error I am getting. 3x Crash Down. Sorry I kind of combined by two problems, but the problems were essentially the same. Here is a link to my other post. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2363793&tstart=0
This is my normal workflow I use all the time. I have heard your not supposed to use HDV and change to Apple Pro Res, but the HDV workflow works 98% of the time. I tried a couple different settings with the Apple Pro Res, but it seems degrade the image quality quite a bit. I am about to try the Adobe Media Encoder.
Thanks again for your time. Jeremy.

  • Mobile site not looking as designed when live on a phone

    HI,
I have created a mobile phone site but on my phone, it looks so different on certain pages, I'm not sure why this is happening or how to fix it? it?

This is how the start page of your site looks in my mobile (android)
Can you confirm if this is how it's supposed to look?
    Cheers

  • Site doesn't look right after being published

I'm a website newbie, and I think I have bitten off more than I can chew. Designed my site, published it, used websafe fonts all the links worked. Look great in Safari on my computer. Then I tried to check it out on the PC with IE... yikes!! So I did some research and saw that's a common IE problem, so tried to view it in Firefox on the PC, looked worse. So I downloaded Safari for the PC... same problem, it looked terrible- text boxes were shifted, flash was coming to the front and covering links, you could see the bounding boxes on some of the pics. eeeeekkkk.
here's the URL if anyone wants a good laugh!!

    Thanks!

The site looks OK -- actually quite impressive for what appears to be a from-scratch design.
In Opera 10 under Snow Leopard 10.6.1, the design doesn't start to explode until the horizontally scrolling marquee comes across. I would strongly recommend just removing that marquee; it is an extremely outdated element of web design. If you do that, the design shouldn't blow up on you in other browsers.

  • Mobile site taking over Desktop site after upload

I have an existing site hosted on a third party server.  I built a mobile site on Muse and just uploaded it via FTP.  Site worked great on mobile device but mobile took over the desktop as well.  I loaded the Muse files into the /. directory.
    Thanks for the help!

Thanks Brad for the reply!   I thought that was probably the issue so I removed all of the mobile files I uploaded originally (at least I think I did.)
I uploaded my original "index.html" file from my original files and all went back normal.  I then loaded muse files via FTP to a directory on the root entitled "mobile".  Now on my phone the site will only pull up the desktop.  Isn't Muse suppose to write files to the root for device detection or am I making some mistakes here?

  • Mobile site, automatic creation and editing

I'm new to Muse and have just created my first web site which Im very pleased with. www.loosechippings.org BUT a big drawback for me is that I have to create a completely separate mobile site for smartphones. I'm told Weebly does this automatically and Direct Mail automatically creates mobile format emails. Please can Adobe introduce automatic creation and editing of mobile versions of the desktop web site?

Just have a look at a homepage of your choice and think, what would happen, if you automatically transpose this page completely into a phone layout. (quantity and size of text, images; menus, anchors, pinning and so on. I think, if you are aware of the horrible problems, you will never want to do this automatically.

  • Has anyone tried using the app Telnames for their mobile sites/storage?

Have been looking at EverWeb and lurking in the forums following the discussions regarding it. Downloaded the demo and it seems like more then I want to do. (Still using iWeb for my main site)
While looking for alternatives I saw Telnames on App Store. I would like to know if anyone has tried using/buying it? I will be working on a 6+ and building a Bed and Breakfast mobile site.
    Thanks in advance
    D

Thanks for the info on symlinks. I pretty much already convinced the powers above me this was a bad idea because of the horrible performance and problems getting OS X to even recognize it as a home directory, but the symlink info is the nail in the coffin. We have had great success using windows file servers for our network home directories (we are a complete windows shop besides my macs) and I really didn't want to change anyways.

  • How do you stop mobile sites from loading in safari automatically on my iPad? I can't log into mobile me because of this.

How do you stop mobile sites from loading in safari automatically on my iPad? I can't log into mobile me because of this.

The me.com website is not designed for or intended to be accessed by iOS devices. Apple provides support in iOS or seperate Apps for accessing all aspects of MobileMe except for the Accounts section.
Use MobielMe as intended and you'll have no problems.
    See: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1673
Even if you use a different browser to get access to me.com on iOS, you'll find most of it is unusable.
Other websites that present you with the mobile version have been programmed to do so by their developers. They specifically look for users accessing from 'mobile' devices and switch to the mobile site. Many such sites provide a link to go back to the 'full' site, if not, there's not a lot you can do except use a browser that can pretend not to be a mobile browser.

  • How do i get Safari to stop redirecting to mobile sites?

Mobile websites are a curse, and IMO was one of the main reasons people didn't use the mobile web before the iPhone. Now with the iPhone you can view the actual web (minus flash, which I would really like to see soon, hint hint), without having to deal with these crippled sites, yet most of them still redirect you to their mobile site.
Someone please tell me there is a way to get safari on the iPhone to stop redirecting to mobile sites without jailbreaking my phone.

These redirects are controlled by the websites themseives. They figure out if you are on a mobile phone or not and then redirect you to the mobile version.
The only way to change that is to look for a link on their site that leads to the full version or write the website webmaster asking them for a link to be added.
There are other ways as well but those aren't supported by Apple so they can't be discussed here.

  • Safari 5.1.2 showing mobile site on macbook pro

I keep having a an issues where my web pages look like this:
    Here is what I've tried:
    1. Open your Safari web browser by clicking on the Safari icon in the dock.
    2. Click on Safari in your Safari menu, located at the top of your screen.
    3. A drop-down menu will now appear. Choose the... option labeled Reset Safari....
    4. A warning dialog will now appear detailing the items that will be removed.
    5. Click the button on the dialog labeled Reset to complete the process.
    6. Your Safari browser will now restart automatically.
    *didn't work*
    Then I tried:
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences - Advanced and make sure the Develop mode box is not checked. That way Safari will only load from your currently installed Safari version.
And from your Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
    *didn't work*
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Running Safari 5.1.2

I have the same problem on all browers, not just Safari. Some sites default to mobile (CNN, Weather.com among others), flagging user agent in Develop does not change the mobile default. Mac Genius Bar suggested reinstalling Snow Leopard could resolve the issue, installing Lion would certainly cure. Neither worked, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera--all default to mobile on certain sites. I could live with the mobile sites, but losing view on WordPress is a pain (only html view shows now).
