Yahoo Search after updating Adobe Flash
I just did an update for Flash and now when I open Safari instead of it showing past pages I have visited it pops up with Yahoo Search. Can someone tell me how to get rid of this and get my screen back to the way it was?

using macbook pro with os 10.7.5, was recommended to update adobe flash while in firefox (22.0). did so, which required closing and restarting firefox during flash update. when complete, firefox opened automatically to adobe flash window and restore previous session was grayed out. can't figure out how to find and restore the tabs i had been using. related questions and answers don't find a solution. my settings are all normal and do not appear to have any relation to the problem. rather, it seems to be the closing and reopening of firefox associated with the updating of flash that nuked any memory of my previous session. is there a solution?
i found my own solution to my problem! first of all, DON'T QUIT FIREFOX -- to be sure the current undesirable session doesn't become the "previous session". instead, open a new window (command-N). in my case, it opened to my usual default url and, while in that window (either before or after closing the first browser window that had opened automatically after updating adobe flash), the "restore previous session" option in history menu reappeared! clicked on it and, from then on, things just worked normally.

After updating Adobe Flash, Firefox does not work
I have Windows Vista.
I just recently downloaded Firefox and it had that bar at the top of the internet url saying to update Adobe Flash or that the Adobe Flash plug in doesn't work. So I clicked on that and it took me to the Firefox site with the raccoon, with a list of things I might need to update.

After that Firefox will open to my homepage which is the most visited with thumbnails of websites. But when I choose one, enter a website in the url, or click a favorite it fails to load.

Trouble after updating adobe flash plugin in quicktime/safari
I was visiting a site when a presentation in the site did not work and gave the response to update the adobe flashplayer to the latest version. I did this and now quicktime doesn't recognise any thing any more. ( In sites and mail. My movies on harddisk work normally. All I get in websites and mail is the q logo with a question mark in it. I have rest quicktime to default, did not help, changed the mime settings so that all was selected still it doesn't work. I have a macbook pro 15" with the latest version quicktime pro. all apple software including safari and mail is up to date. what to do??? I am a user not a tecnical genius.

Last night I was prompted to download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player. After installing it Hulu and Youtube will not play videos. On Hulu there is a "Plug-In Failure" message. I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, turned it off, turned it back on, uninstalled and reinstalled again, searched on message boards, turned it off for a long time and then turned it back on, refreshed the pages, and now I'm just drinking lots of coffee and pleading for help.
Hulu is my only t.v.!!!!

I can't watch movies , asking for adobe flash. After installing the latest adobe flash still doesn't show movies.
The other day, there was someone here who figured after quite a while that he had plug-ins disabled in Safari. He could have installed Flash a hundred times but never get it to work.
Of course, you do have plug-ins enabled. Yes? Quick double-check? Safari -> Preferences -> Security tab -> checkmark at "Enable plug-ins"... -

Trying to update adobe flash, keep getting 'quit dashboard client'. Everytime I try to, it pops back up. Even after going to activity monitor and force quitting. What is it and how can I quit it so I can install this update??

In the process of updating Adobe Flash, Firefox froze. It registers as being open, and none of the fixes I've tried will work as long as it's open, but I can't close it. Even when I click on the Firefox icon, the Firefox menu bar doesn't appear. No Firefox window appears.

MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8): can't update adobe flash - now Word, Chrome, etc. all crashing on startup

Was having Adobe shockwave/flash problems while running Chrome, which is not completely unheard of. Restarted my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), which included a software update (though I'm not sure exactly what programs were updated).
Now Chrome will not run at all. Every time I start, it crashes immediately. Have tried SEVERAL times to trash/download it, but the same version seems to keep appearing in my Applications folder. Have also tried trashing the Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome folder to no avail. Appears back in its place after dragging it to the trash.
In addition, Adobe flash videos for Safari and Firefox (which I just downloaded as a tester) also will not work. Each attempt to update Adobe Flash also ends in a crash. And now I've discovered the same for everything Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The program shuts down and the Microsoft error message appears breifly, followed by the same crash "Mircrosoft Word Error Reporting Quit Unexpectedly" box.
Again, have tried several times to download Chrome & Adobe Flash to no avail. All system updates have been made to date. What to do next?Has your computer started running slowly as well? Everything taking forever to work?

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced

Two bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. You should uninstall any previous version first, and repair permissions after installing the new version. -

Answers in this forum have shown different things have worked for different people.

Others had to go a step further after deleting YouTube cookies and block YouTube from saving cookies. In the Tools menu select Options to open the Options window. Go to the Privacy panel and make sure it is set to "Use custom setting for history". Click the Exceptions button, type in http://www.youtube.com and click on Block
Another option is to disable hardware acceleration for Flash. To do that right-click on a Flash video, select Settings, go to the first tab of the settings for the option to enable/disable hardware acceleration for Flash. When trying to update Adobe Flash Player on My iMac I get a message that says "blocked Plug-ins." When going back to previously viewed studies, including youtube, I get the same message. What changed if the update was never installed? How can I reverse this situation? Thanks for any ideas?
