Yahoo security password resets are causing misery ...

Yahoo has stepped up it's security and as a result is forcing many of us to reset our passwords when their program detects 'unusual activity' Quite what that means I don't think anyone really knows. I have been forced to change my passwords twice in the past three weeks. The ensuing havoc this causes is extraordinary. The password resets itself for brower access but it can take days or weeks for the servers to be updated for Outlook or Blackberry to be able to use the password. I have no spent some twenty hours trying to sort this out. It is a problem that BT is unaware of although I have made four complaints about it. BT seems to have structured itself to be largely ineffective to deal with any complaint. There is no person that you can speak to that actually can take responsibility. An organisation that is so slow to respond and so poorly organised to respond to customer problems in a effective way is going to loose my business. When they call you and can't reach you they just leave a message that they will call back. It would make sense to leave a contact name and number where you could call the technical line back when the customer is available. it is small things like this that show that this company has lost touch with pretty much all its values and principles. I have been BT for over 30 years and I have seen this company disintegrate into a confused mess.. I feel as sorry for the staff as for the customers, who have been structured into small cogs in the system with no power to actually solve things.

I have had this for months and it is only in the past week that this has stopped happening.People didn't believe me when I said my email client couldn't access the server. The cure[for a day] was to go to the BT yahoo sign in remove my correct password and re-instate it --that worked-for a day -so every day for several months I had to do this all the time. It has stopped at the moment but I wont be holding my breath I have had major problems with BT yahoo over several years and will be glad when that virus is removed and I am transferred to CP Yahoo high-jacks you to its paid for sites changes your tabs and bookmarks -sent me to the US yahoo website and the only option 2 years ago was to pay a website -to GET BACK TO BT YAHOO!!- It has multible accounts on Yahoo that I cant remove All business -The US-China-Italy many more ALL on my account I cant remove. I complained here and somone must have seen the complaint of an armed protection company who were using my account -that has now gone but the US government still think I run a government agency for the Native Americans and invite me to apply for grants for them. I will jump for joy!! when the yahoo trojan is removed from BT.

It will be sent to your rescue email address, not your account's primary email address. If you can't remember what you set your rescue email address to, or no longer have access to that email account, then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

Refreshed foxfire; now plugins and security (password requests) are screwed up.

Recently picked up a virus. Did the things you would expect including malware and add-on elimination. The ad ware problem is fixed. I "refreshed" foxfire in the process of the above. Now I am prevented from installing any add-on. Foxfire prevents it and when I say allow, it tells me there is a communication problem. Also, I use LastPass as my password program and I can't get back to working as it should (auto login and passwords).
Also, foxfire gives a screen saying "password required" and then "please enter the master password for the software security device". I never set FFire with a password and can't understand why all these security roadblocks are now present.
I hope this helps you. I need some advice to solve this.

For users who have one or more builds from mozilla.org this will not work.
It would be best to have the full path so if you had placed the untared contents
in a folder in /home it would be /home/<username>/foldername/firefox/firefox –P
An easy way would be not to do it in a terminal but in say a launcher since
you have to point it to the firefox script in Firefox folder you can then add –P
on end. You can also have the exact "profilename" after the -P so Firefox
will start with that Profile.

Device security password reset every 5-6 days -- how to change this?

I have a new 8330 Curve set up on Sprint, which I just received last week. I set it up with password enabled in the Security Options on the device, so that it would lock after 20 minutes of inactivity and require a password to unlock it.
After only about 5 or 6 days, when I went to unlock it the device gave me a message that my password had expired and forced me to change it. There is no option in the Security Options on the device to adjust the password timeout period.
I've searched the forums here, and have seen reference to this possibly happening as a result of an IT policy for units that are set up on an enterprise server. My device is not set up on an enterprise server through an employer, however; it is a personal device. (For what it's worth, my old Blackberry that I had from my previous job was set up on an enterprise server, and never once made me change the device password. However, my other previous Blackberry, set up as a personal device through AT&T and not on an enterprise server, did require a password change every 5 days and I never got around to seriously trying to fix it.)
I was on the phone with Sprint tech support last night for half an hour before the last person they transferred me to said he had to call RIM for more information. He never called me back as he said he would, however. Forumites, can anybody offer me a clue as to what needs to be done to fix this issue? It's quite annoying having to change a password every five days, and so far the only solution seems to be to disable password protection, which I don't want to do either.

On your device, look at Options > Security > General Settings.
Scroll toward the bottom of that screen, under or just above **services** do you see any "policy name" or the such?

Password Reset - Important Customer Security Alert

Yesterday I received an email from Adobe DPSAdmin telling me that, "an attacker illegally entered our network and may have obtained access to some Adobe IDs and encrypted passwords...as a precaution, we are resetting relevant customer passwords to prevent unauthorized access to customer accounts."
Today I received an email from Adobe Cutomer Care using the same language with a password reset link. I went through the process of resetting the passwords of all of the Adobe IDs we use for our different published apps.
Does resetting these passwords mean that I need to rebuild and resubmit all of our apps using the new passwords?

This happened again over the weekend. From the contents of the email I assume they weren't hacked again, but instead decided to reset my password again just for kicks? I've been notified of this happening with at least two of the accounts I manage. Is there a reason why the automatic password reset has happened twice?

How can i change email address for security questions and password resets

I've noticed that my password reset requests are going to an old email acount. In fact, i am not sure where they are going.
the real issue is that i don't see a way to change it when i am logged in (it took me many tries to actually log back in) to my apple id account.
I've changed alternate email accounts, but again i don't see a way to change my destination email account for security section of the account.
Also i would rather reset these via text (ATT has this option for my cell phone account reset and i love it). I don't see an option like that from Apple at all.
Any suggestions and help will be much appreciated. Don't want to struggle with password resets every time i need to get in.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Contact Apple through iTunes Store Support, and explain that you have forgotten your 3 security questions, that you can reset your password, but doing so doesn't reset your security questions.
Remember, support will receive hundreds, if not thousands of requests per day, some from people trying it on, others with little explanation and others that are written extremely poorly. Take the time to explain your situation properly, be precise and concise, brief but comprehensive.

BT Password Reset: Security Certificate

Ive gone onto the above page on several PC's today from three locations and all are displaying an "unsecure" message for the BT password reset page.
Of course it could be a con; but anyone else found this recently.
Any comment from the mod team to check the security certificate details?

Blackberry data lost or reset after wife tried to guess my security password

Hi,
I was asleep when my wife tried to access my email by trying to guess my security password on my blackberry 8330 series, when I woke up and tried to use my phone, it had been reset to the original default settings and when it asked for my security password but mine is not working. I have no way to enter my phone and it seems my business and personal information on my phone has been deleted. Is there any way to recover my information and to reset the password on my phone?

Hopefully, if you are on a work account, it is a BES and all you important data, messages, contacts etc., are on the BES. Inquire with your BES Admin.
If you have a personal BIS account, it's gone, as it should be, the security on the device is working as intended.

Can I use my existing E-mail address to retrieve my password reset through security questions

Can I use my existing E-mail address to retrieve my password reset through security questions instead of through E-mail. When I try retrieving my new Apple password through reset through security questions? On the Apple id, it will not allow me to do so becasue I forgot my security answers to the question. I'm naming one or two of the wrong vechiles which is what the questions ask me for for security questions.
For icloud do you reccommend that I keep that same E-mail address or create a new one for my iCloud mail aside from my G-mail address name?
I asked support community for the very first time to reset my security questions and it wanted me to create a new user name for iCloud when I already have *****l for my original Apple id.

looks for the logs as why they were down. You can bring the managed server up by running the command
sh ./startManagedWebLogic.sh bi_server1 http://hostname:7001> start_bi_server1.log &
inorder to start the above without password you need to add the username and pwd in boot.properties under /MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/servers/bi_server1/security and for admin server /MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/servers/AdminServer/security
and start the OPMN processes using command line ./opmnctl startall
if any of the serivces wont start check the logs
