I have not been able to access Yahoo site or Yahoo Messanger form 3-4 days. When i try to browse Yahoo am directed to a page which tells me to register for Gmail.
I have got Quick Heal installed and no viruses are found.

  • Site only loads to 66% for some poeple

Hi everyone.  I'm a bit stumped.  I have a site almost entirely in flash at www.the-beehive.com - that I've had for years without problems.  Recently, I came to hear that many people cannot load the site entirely.  I cannot reproduce the problem as it works for me with all kinds of connections (even a crappy usb modem in Indonesia!).  I've asked friends all over the world to check it and they have had no problems.  But I've also recevied e-mails from completely unrelated people from different parts of the world, using different OS and browsers, that it will only load to 66% and then gets stuck.  Anyone have any ideas?  The site was made with adobe flash cs3 and exported for flashplayer 9 (and I've tried it as fp6 too).  The file in question is on www.the-beehive.com/english.html
    Thanks!

after clearing the cache in all 3 browsers I see little improvement
it still locks up at 66 or 81 percent.  unless I refresh the page multiple times and am very patient I can't get in. As noted above, you may want to break your swf up into smaller sections which unfortunately could be quite a bit of work. It would probably be easier to switch hosts. Maybe a friend has another host where you can temporarily host the swf for testing purposes. At the very least you might be able to narrow down the issue.
In this day and age the file size of your swf (1mb) shouldn't really be too much to handle. It should load in a few seconds for anyone with cable modem+.
It is interesting that it always seems to hang at the same place: 66 or 81.

When is Use Internet Explorer 9 it works oke, or when i use the old build with firefox 10.0 its also oke.
I have removed version 22 and installed it again with the same results (not showing the websites)
i tried version 19,20,21 and 22 but all with the same results.
I tried the solutions on your websites (and some other sites) but they dont solve the problem.
    kind regards
    Patrick

Since these are media sites, my initial suspicion is a Flash issue. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Firefox won't load some Yahoo sites, yet will load others like My Calendar, etc.

Recently, my Firefox has stopped loading "some" pages for Yahoo. I cannot load for example, My Yahoo Home Page, it just comes up "blank", no error message or anything. This also happens when I try to just load the base Yahoo page. Yet I am able to load my Yahoo Mail Page, as well as my Yahoo Calendar. It also occurs in other sites that I have used as well, so it's not related specifically to Yahoo sites. It also is Crashing when I try to do things as simple as click on the "why keep your Add-Ons updated link in the lower right of this forum help section. This is why I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, as I figured something got messed up to make it unstable.
As I said I have "uninstalled Firefox 4.0 and re-installed it", but yet no change. I also am able to load these various Yahoo sites when I use an different browser. I have also cleared my History and Cache, Cookies, etc, but still nothing has helped.
I need to fix this ASAP, as my home page has things on it that I need, and when I load up my yahoo in Explorer for example, I am missing a lot of my Favorites, Tool Bar Bookmarks, etc. Any help with this would be appreciated.
UPDATE: I just got off a chat session with support, and they suggested I run FireFox in Safe Mode, disable all Add Ons and then add them back one at time if I need them back. I did this, of course, "lost" my Chat Session and the problem described above "STILL" exists. Now I have an even bigger mess, as I have none of my same "look" and feel of my Firefox that I had before. How do I get out of "Safe Mode" now, and get back to the same look I had before? Remember, once I get back to this point, then I still have to deal with the "Original Issue" I once had posted above. Thank you.

Update: This is NOT just related to "Yahoo" pages, while this problem first began with some of my Yahoo pages, it is now also happening with other NON Yahoo things I want to load up. Like Twitter, or Links in emails that load Blank, or even images within emails that show up Blank in the preview part of Yahoo mail. It is NOT a Yahoo issue as I have loaded up my Yahoo Mail in IE and Chrome, and everything loads wonderfully. I can even load up sites like Twitter, and other websites that will NOT load in Firefox, but they come up fine in other Browsers.
I have done the ONLY suggestion that came from Firefox Tech support, to load up FF in Safe Mode, but the problems still exists. I have uninstalled FF and re-loaded it, but the same problem is there.
Does anyone have any ideas here at all? I can't seem to get any Fire Fox help, so I am reaching out to the community here to see if anyone can help.... Thank you !!

Ok, first thing, why are you doing anything with WAMP or XAMPP when you're running a Mac? MAMP should be what you want unless you're not explaining part of what you are trying to do.
2nd thing, I haven't used MAMP in a while, but there are two possibilities for not seeing what you want to see once you have MAMP turned on. One possibility is that you already have "Web Sharing" turned on in your Sharing Preference Pane. If that is the case, port 80 will already be taken and you'll be seeing the default Apache install (files are stored at /Library/WebServer/Documents/). This would push MAMP to either not turn on it's web serving capabilities, or to push it to another port. The other possibility is that MAMP defaults to another port anyway. So instead of localhost, you might have to type in localhost:8080 or something similar. I believe the control panel that gets installed can take you to the currently MAMP-served page, and it can also help you change which port your serving on.
80 is the default port for web serving and the ONLY port that will let you get straight to the server without having to type in webaddress.com:port# instead of just webaddress.com.

  • Why does Firefox take so long to load beta images on some sites?

I upgraded to one of the latest versions of Firefox, and it's better in some ways. It loads much faster than previous versions, but when I try to look at certain websites - the Globe and Mail is one of them - I get messages like "waiting for beta images" and Firefox just sits there and I can't look at the site. Why does Firefox take so long to upload beta images? I don't have that problem with Internet Explorer.

    Hi,
Please also try after clearing the cache and cookies: '''Tools '''('''Alt '''+ '''T''') > '''Clear Recent History''', choose '''Everything '''in '''Time range to clear''', '''Cookies '''and '''Cache '''in '''Details '''and '''Clear Now'''. If the problem persists please check in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode].

    [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_toolbars Uninstalling Toolbars]
Safe mode disables the installed '''Extensions''', and themes ('''Appearance''') in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is '''Tools''' > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General''' > '''Use hardware acceleration when available'''. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u Options > Advanced]. All these settings/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme or hardware acceleration is causing issues.

  • Since update, various sites load very slowly and some do not load until "Reload Current Page" is clicked several times.

Since Firefox update (6.0.2) many sites load very slowly and some do not load at all (green circle rotates infinitely) until "Reload Current Page" is clicked on 2 to 12 times.
Returned to version 5. No more slow load.
Automatically re-updated me to 6.0.2 and now slow again.
Returned to FF 5 again and turned off automatic update.
Downloaded 7.0.1 and the problem seems to be solved.

Same here, only that updating to 7.0 or 7.0.1 doesn't seem to solve this issue. Seems to have something to do with loading images (e.g: adobe.com stops loading when "wwwimages.adobe.com" is being loaded. imdb.com, on the other hand, seems to load images very slowly and not all of them).
Safe-mode. disabling add-ons, clearing cache and cookies and checking for malware doesn't help.

Firefox does not stop loading even after the site is loaded and continues as if it is still loading. I have clocked it to 15 minutes, why? edit

Sorry, I should distinguish between slow loading and manual reloading.
I understood your problem to be that Firefox never finished loading the page, i.e., some part of the page was loading too slowly.
By reloading, I meant Ctrl+r (or the reload button), to manually reload the page. You can disregard any cached files and reload all content fresh from the server by adding the Shift key, i.e., Ctrl+Shift+r (helpful when specific sites do not load correctly).
If the page is automatically reloading itself over and over, that sounds like a completely different problem.

  • I have a mac and using firefox as my browser . Yahoo does not load properly. Not having trouble with yahoo using safari.

WHen I try to open yahoo with firefox it loads extra slow and some of the functions are not available.

So I just got back from vacation and uninstalled firefox. Reinstalled it and I still have the same problem. The odd thing is now it doesn't work in Google Chrome either. So I'm sure it is a Mac problem now. Probably has nothing to do with FireFox and everything to do with being dumb enough to buy a 4000 $ paperweight called mac. What a hunk of junk.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Firefox web surf slow. Pages take minutes to load, and sometimes they dont load at all. I have win xp sp3. Thanks

Hello. I have windows xp sp3,and latest firefox, i think 26. And sometimes, not all the time, but most of it,my web browsing is so slow, i mean google search, web pages load, etc. Like minutes before it loads, and when finally does, sometimes i see only text ,in web pages, not images.
I have speed,as i can download torrents with 7 Mb/sec. Just web surfing is slow, painfully slow.
My question is,if you bear with me, is this a browser problem or a windows one ??
(i dont exclude even the possibility for the nice guys at microProose to inject a thing in windoze to make it slow,so we upgrade,in the light of recent discoveries:) .
    thanks in advance.
