This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

I really would like to know how to totally remove Yahoo toolbar from my Firefox browser as well as my computer. I don't like special toolbars at all. I find it irritating that you included one in the newest version of your browser. In the future I would hope you would leave this or any other out. Firefox used to be my favorite browser to use, now I am not going to want to use it because of the extra toolbar. Please tell me there is a way to remove this, not just hide it.

You can't move the Yahoo Toolbar from IE to Firefox, they are totally different "behind the scenes". However you can install it, http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ and I believe if you log in with your Yahoo account it will sync your data.

• Why can I not install yahoo toolbar on lastest Firefox 4.0.1???

I had to reinstall an upgraded firefox (4.0.1), now I cannot install a yahoo toolbar like I had on my previous Firfox.

Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I needed and is working.
Appreciate you taking the time to respond. :o)

• I want to remove the yahoo toolbar that was added when I updated Adobe Flash. Neither Yahoo or Firefox provides info that works.

I want a simple way to remove the Yahoo Tool bar.

Have you tried un-installing that Yahoo Toolbar extension from Firefox?
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions <br />
Locate that extension in the list, and click on it. You should see an Uninstall button, use it, and then restart Firefox.

• Has a fix developed for Firefox 36 which BROKE Yahoo Toolbar in Windows 7 & 8 while Firefox 37 broke Yahoo Toolbar for Linux ?

Yahoo Toolbar (added from Firefox Add-ons) stopped working when I updated to Firefox 36 on both my Windows 7 & 8 computers so I RE-Installed Firefox 35 via a 3rd party download site. I didn't have the same problem on My Linux Computers until today when My Linux Computer UPDATED to Firefox 37. Now the only link which will show up on the Yahoo Toolbar is my "Mail" link.
It seems (based upon my research) that Mozilla is trying to sweep this screw-up under the carpet by blaming Yahoo, and yet they continue to display the link/add-on in their "Add-on Repository" ! Maybe Mozilla need to find a better Janitor cause the current one can't seem to See or even Smell the manure they're shoveling !
Don't get me wrong. I've been using Firefox & Yahoo Toolbar for 8+ years and been a fan of both, but I ditched Micro$oft Window$ because of Compatibility Issues within their own Software Programs. I would like to continue to use Firefox and Yahoo toolbar, But if they can't manage to work together and find a solution I WILL solve the problem by "Ditching Them Both" in favor of another provider and take all my current tech customers with me when I do. FYI, they number in the thousands.

Perhaps you do notice the "By Yahoo!" under the Yahoo Toolbar extension name.
It may not be obvious to everybody at first but the addons.mozilla.org is a hosting site for Extensions and also Themes (both image and complete), dictionaries, search engines etc.
The vast majority of Extensions being hosted on addons.mozilla.org are by a third-party author unless it says a author like Mozilla or Mozilla Labs.
Moderators here (unless they have Administrator tag also) are users like yourself who have been entrusted with moderator abilities.
No need to be rude as I certainly was not. Also mild rudeness does not get more attention in getting help but more likely to be ignored as volunteers spend whatever time they have to help others instead,

• I just downloaded firefox 7 and now my yahoo toolbar is gone--help

can't get yahoo toolbar after installing firefox 7 and updating adobe flash

Looks like yahoo toolbar is disabled as it is not compatible with Firefox 7.
You can force enable yahoo toolbar by installing Addon Compability Reporter
If the addon does not work after force enabling, then i am afraid you will need to wait for Yahoo to fix it.

• My yahoo toolbar does not start when I start firefox I have to redownload it why?

why does my yahoo toolbar not work when I start firefox? i HAVE TO RE INSTALL IT EVERY TIME.

Have you checked that all your plugins are up to date? See here:
And updated all themes and extensions? See here:

You should also try clearing the cache to see if that helps.
I suspect that this is an issue with the Yahoo toolbar rather than Firefox. There are a number of user reviews complaining about various problems on the add-on page. Unfortunately yahoo don't seem to offer support for the toolbar product (other than yahoo answers). It might be worth asking there as well if none of the above works.
If after trying all of this you can't get it to work then let me know. There may be other features in Firefox that you can use to cover the same functionality that the yahoo toolbar gives you. What particular features do you like about it?

• Why don't I have e-mail notifications to the yahoo toolbar in firefox 4?

I updated to firefox 4 2 weeks before and since then I do not have mail notifications to the yahoo toolbar 2 for firefox (it is an add-on)
I contact to yahoo customer service and they told me to contact with mozilla because it is a problem with firefox 4.
I am normally and always logged in my yahoo account..
Can you please help me?

If you have any other add-ons disable them using the following method or manually. If done manually do not disable Yahoo Toolbar.
Go to to Firefox App Button --> Help --> Restart With Add-ons Disabled.
When firefox restarts, you will see a window regarding Firefox Safe Mode. Check Disable all add-ons and click on make changes and restart. Re-enable Yahoo Toolbar and check if the notifications show up.
If they do show up go here http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting%20extensions%20and%20themes#w_test-for-faulty-extensions

• I want to add the Yahoo toolbar that is already on my computer with Internet Explorer. Is there a way to import it? I went to "add a toolbar" but that did nothing.

Nothing much else to say; what I wrote is self-explanatory. I have the Yahoo toolbar on my computer and have used it for a long, long time with Internet Explorer. I have downloaded Firefox though because the upgraded Explorer is giving me fits and keeps freezing the page. So how can I put the Yahoo toolbar on the Firefox page to use? Can I import it or do I need to reinstall it?

Firefox needs a different toolbar than IE, so you need to install the Yahoo! Toolbar for Firefox.

• I no longer get my bookmarks in my dropdown menu on my yahoo tool bar plus i cannot add or delete apps on my yahoo toolbar.i believe this all started w/ a firefox upgrade of some sort.

i no longer get my bookmarks in my drop down menu on my yahoo tool bar plus i cannot add or delete apps on my yahoo toolbar. i have emailed yahoo and they said it is not their trouble & to call at&t and i called att and they said not their trouble go back to yahoo .......but i believe this all started w/ a firefox upgrade of some sort.

I know you can't help with my Yahoo problem, however, apparently at some time in the past I have went to the Sync and tried to figure it out on both my laptop and my desktop, because I have the long snyc key information. However, when I go to try to sync both computers I never get the box to enter that key on either one. That is my problem. So should I try and get a new sync key and see if that works.

• I want to remove Yahoo Toolbar and one way to do so is to go to Tools dropdown menu. But Yahoo toolbar has "covered this up" and I can't locate my TOOLS dropdown menu anymore. Can someone assist me to circumvent this?

I have tried to uninstall Yahoo Toolbar using this and other methods. Another is to find the "pencil" icon to uninstall-- but my Yahoo toolbar doesn't have a "pencil" icon!! HELP!! I never wanted the Yahoo toolbar but it was auto installed with latest version of Firefox. I no longer have a URL bar at top of page to input URLs, no way to hit a "back" arrow to go back to prior website-- not good.

hello, this sounds like the files in your profile folder that store the information about your extensions might have become corrupted. please go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile - show folder... then windows explorer should open up your profile folder. in there look for the files named extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite, extensions.sqlite-journal (and in some cases also extensions.txt, extensions.rdf). delete or rename those files and quit firefox, they will be regenerated the next time you launch firefox.

* If the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down, that should make the Menu bar appear (Firefox 3.6 on Windows) (see Menu bar is missing).
* Make sure that you have the Navigation Toolbar and other toolbars visible: View > Toolbars .
* If items are missing then see if you can find them in the View > Toolbars > Customize window.
* If you see the item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window to the Navigation toolbar.
* If you do not see that item then click the Restore Default Set button in the View > Toolbars > Customize window.

• How do I get rid of yahoo toolbar and get back my orange firefox button in the upper left corner of screen so I can use my stuff again?

Yahoo toolbar suddenly imposed itself as my log on screen whenever I booted up my computer and clicked on Firefox. Now I can't get to my bookmarks even though it told me that if I activated the new bookmark system it would transfer my old ones. It didn't happen. The toolbar has no bar for typing in a www.http address. I cannot use it and don't want it. I am using Explorer just so I can access my bookmark address, but don't like Explorer. I want my old Firefox screen back that has the little orange button in the upper left corner of the screen. How can I get there? My computer use has been highly curtailed by this unrequested invasion!

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.<br />
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.

• My customized Yahoo Toolbar (v. 2.3.5.20110120033202) would not load properly after I installed the new Firefox 5.0, even though when it checked for incompatibilities while installing it made no mention of the Yahoo toolbar, only the Google toolbar

My elongated (statement) question fully explains the problem I am inquiring about. Only some rudimentary features of my existing Yahoo toolbar were displayed and it was missing all of my previously selected icons which are on file with Yahoo, not my computer. You also could not right or left click for a menu on the options icon (gear icon) to the right of the search window.
It would seem that there are incompatibility issues between the new 5.0 Firefox and the existing most current version of the Yahoo Toolbar add-on. I don't know know why this wasn't detected in the installation scan for compatibility of installed add-ons.
I have re-installed the 4.0 Firefox for the time being in order to regain the use of the Yahoo toolbar and all it's features which I use regularly.
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what the problem may be?

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

• When using the right mouse button in Yahoo mail inbox (Firefox 8.0.1, Win 7, Yahoo Mail Plus) the Firefox navigation window (Back, Forward etc...) is on top of the Yahoo email menu (Open, Print, Reply etc...). This happens in Firefox safe mode as well.

This also happened in Windows XP which I was using until recently.
The Yahoo mail menu is there but the Firefox menu is on top of it. I tried Firefox safe mode with everything disabled and the problem still happened. I tried Yahoo mail in IE 9 and the right mouse button works correctly.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
