Yahoo toolbar stinks
Yahoo toolbar hasn't worked for me for at least 3 months. I have tried everything. I have completely uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled, did all the upgrades, ect. I am no rookie. The toolbar just stinks
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I really would like to know how to totally remove Yahoo toolbar from my Firefox browser as well as my computer. I don't like special toolbars at all. I find it irritating that you included one in the newest version of your browser. In the future I would hope you would leave this or any other out. Firefox used to be my favorite browser to use, now I am not going to want to use it because of the extra toolbar. Please tell me there is a way to remove this, not just hide it.
You can't move the Yahoo Toolbar from IE to Firefox, they are totally different "behind the scenes". However you can install it, [http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/] and I believe if you log in with your Yahoo account it will sync your data.

firefox 4 came on my computer thru an update. now i do not have my yahoo toolbar that has the refresh button the home button and the other buttons that are on yahoo tool bar. i want to use my yahoo toolbar and it says it isnt compatible with firefox 4... HELP!

First, I kept getting a notice that I should upgrade to Firefox 4. For a few days, I clicked on the link, and it said it was connecting to the server-all day long-until I clicked off of it. So, I went to the Mozilla website and downloaded the new version. My persona disappeared, my yahoo toolbar will not work, all my yahoo bookmarks disappeared and I can't get them back. Is there any way I can fix this! If not, I am going back to IE! This is stupid and frustrating!

When I load Firefox my Yahoo toolbar with all my links that I use does not load! I've been dealing with this for a long time! And as much as I hate Internet Explorer, you are forcing me to go back to it after 3 years with Firefox! Why dose your program have to be so uncooperative. If I can't access my program with ease, what good are you? I don't have this problem with IE. I have been using Firefox because it's so much faster than IE. But If I have to waste all this time trying to re-install Yahoo toolbar or type in Internet addresses, You really are no better, even worse!

Immediately after I updated my firefox a couple of weeks ago, the browser started to display a yahoo toolbar. At the time my husband took it off using the control panel and add/remove program function on the computer.
since this am, the toolbar has come back up. I did NOT do anything to request it, or put it there. It is not showing up on my program list, I cannot find it when I do a search of my computer. When I went to yahoo help "remove toolbar" the two suggestions were to do that or use the settings button to remove it, but the settings menu on this doesn't have that option, unless maybe I would create an account, log in, and then remove it. I don't really want to do that either.
I don't know where this came from, and don't really trust it. I would like to take it off, but can't seem to figure out how.I figured it out! Click on the Orange 'Firefox' tab on the upper left hand side of the Firefox browser, Choose 'Options', then deselect 'Yahoo! toolbar'.

The Yahoo toolbar I previously utilized was not able to be converted once I downloaded the latest Firefox version. I need the identity safe feature from the Yahoo toolbar in order to obtain many of my passwords. How can I reactivate the yahoo toolbar???

Yahoo toolbar suddenly imposed itself as my log on screen whenever I booted up my computer and clicked on Firefox. Now I can't get to my bookmarks even though it told me that if I activated the new bookmark system it would transfer my old ones. It didn't happen. The toolbar has no bar for typing in a www.http address. I cannot use it and don't want it. I am using Explorer just so I can access my bookmark address, but don't like Explorer. I want my old Firefox screen back that has the little orange button in the upper left corner of the screen. How can I get there? My computer use has been highly curtailed by this unrequested invasion!
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.<br />
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.

Cannot uninstall Yahoo toolbar from Firefox
I'm reposting part of another thread that was closed because no one is actually listening to the people that are posting the problem.

This is exactly my problem as well.
In the other thread several people said 'disable it in your add-ons' Well as the poster above mentioned and I can confirm **it is not in the add-ons area**
Others said 'use the add/remove function in the control panel' and as the poster above mentioned and once again I can confirm **I did this and it no longer shows up under add/remove but the toolbar is still annoyingly there**
Yet others said 'you must have downloaded a special yahoo version of Firefox' No, we (or at least I) didn't. The toolbar was installed when I installed Yahoo messenger
-I can't believe a 'clean install' of Firefox is the answer to this problem--if so this is just ridiculous.
If there is no actual answer, I can accept that but I am frustrated that people are posting responses that very clearly are not the right answers because the people posting the problems were very clear about the issues.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

How do I bring my already installed Yahoo Toolbar from my IE Browser to my current FireFox browser?
Prior to my Firefox browser, I was using IE8 for quite some time. I have a toolbar, for Yahoo, installed into my system already from my initial homepage setup in IE. I now use Yahoo as one of my homepages in Firefox and would like to have the Yahoo toolbar available when I log in to my browser. I know how to import my bookmarks/favorites from other browsers, I did this already. Can I move the Yahoo toolbar that's been customized my way, from my old IE8 browser to my new FF browser? I don't want to re-install it, again, if I don't have to. All of my preferred links/buttons are set up in it; CNN News, You Tube, etc.

The recent version of Firefox apparently does not support/permit me to see/use the Yahoo toolbar. Therefore, I have to manually page back thru all of the yahoo pages I've visited to get back to the main page.
Also the recent version of Firefox apparently is not compatible with Kodak Gallery's functions; therefore use of my many photo albums stored online is no longer available.

Since updating to Firefox 6.0 I am no longer able to add bookmarks on Yahoo Toolbarl. I receive the following Java Error message: "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function." When I hit the OK button in the error message it opens up "Add a Bookmark" and when I attempt to add the bookmark there I get this error message: "A problem occured while trying to save the bookmark. Please try again later."
Is this a comparability issue that you are not aware of? Below are the versions of Firefox and Yahoo Toolbar that I currently have installed:

I am having this issue on my laptop and desktop. Since I use both computers the Yahoo toolbar has been great for having my bookmarks available on both computers at the same time but no I don't have that feature. I'm told that Google's toolbar also doesn't work either.
Do you guys do any testing or Quality Assurance testing before releasing these versions?Add-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not even put their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org you had to install it from their site.
Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.
* "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
* Do a Google Search no problem
* It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down. -
I can't use Firefox because all I have at the top of the screen is the orange Firefox button, tabs, and my Yahoo toolbar. I don't have my address bar. I don't have the back and foreward buttons. I don't have the Home button or the Bookmarks button. I don't have my Google search bar. I don't have any the things that I should have and that I need to make it work. How do I fix this? Thank you.

My elongated (statement) question fully explains the problem I am inquiring about. Only some rudimentary features of my existing Yahoo toolbar were displayed and it was missing all of my previously selected icons which are on file with Yahoo, not my computer. You also could not right or left click for a menu on the options icon (gear icon) to the right of the search window.
It would seem that there are incompatibility issues between the new 5.0 Firefox and the existing most current version of the Yahoo Toolbar add-on. I don't know know why this wasn't detected in the installation scan for compatibility of installed add-ons.
I have re-installed the 4.0 Firefox for the time being in order to regain the use of the Yahoo toolbar and all it's features which I use regularly.
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what the problem may be?I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.
