Yahoo toolbar stopped working period!

Yesterday, 10/12/10, my Yahoo toolbar for Firefox, with all my custom buttons was working FINE. Then today, 10/13/10, although it is there, nothing works - not even the search. My buttons are gone too. I tried removing it and re-installing it, but it's still there, not functioning. Anyone know what happened?

I am having problems with my optical corded mouse that came with my iMac (it's about 2 years old) It stops working periodically, and I can't figure out how to fix it; doesn't look like I can open it to clean it, or anything like that.

The little tracball may work scrolling down a page, but not up, sometimes, and I have yet to figure out how to fix it, or why it happens at all. Is there someone who has had that problem, and what did you do?

Turn the mouse upside down and run it (vigorously) over a piece of paper. Better yet, run it over a microfiber cloth.

The tool is called a “callout” note. It places a text box with a leader. It’s been working just fine until suddenly it stopped working and I get an error message saying “desired operation cannot be performed on this object”. It doesn’t matter where I try to place the callout. It simply stopped working. I have tried restarting Acrobat. I have restarted my computer. I have used multiple files to ensure the issue isn’t with a corrupted file. Nothing works. The tool simply stopped working.

I downloaded Office for Mac 2011, and almost immediately my Yahoo email stopped working, most images were disabled throughout my internet sites, and my bank site reported that I was using a "new computer," which is not true. How can I get my email to work

I have an iMac version 10.6.8/2.66 GHz Intel Processor and 4 GB memory, with Safari 5.1.10. I had used Office for Mac 2008 but had to upgrade for work. The download (from Amazon) went swiftly, but when I started Word, it did not function too well. Then about an hour later I noticed that my Yahoo email site stopped working, it lost all images and the text just jumbled up on the left side of the screen. No amount of emptying caches or resets/quits/restarts did anything. I called the Internet support, and they just said it was my iMac that had the problem. I have been reduced to using MacMail as my email, but this is tenuous, as my Yahoo account keeps holding things up and constantly asking me for my password (and sometimes it does not accept it). How can I get my computer back?

Actually, the download of Office 2011 for Mac probably was not legal and may have contained bugs or other things meant to make it unstable, or invite a host of issues. The usual path would be Office 2011 for Mac on DVD so you could reinstall it and add the extras from the disc as needed; or fix the installation later on. The updates for security were downloads from Microsoft servers. You'd need a legitmate version with pass code.
Options for Mac and office-like application suites include Libre Office, NeoOffice, and these run free. The latter supports up to Mavericks. 10.9.1 now. They have a word, excel, and other parts a lot like the real office.
If you have a working clone of the system prior to installing the Office 2011 for Mac download and any subsequent and perhaps unseen extras, you could revert to it simply by restarting the computer from the clone, where it resides in externally enclosed self-powered hard disk drive, of a type known to support OS X clones... With ports to help work with most modern Macs. FireWire + USB. Then, clone it back w/ carbon copy cloner.
Short of that, perhaps someone will see your post and offer some indepth method of hunting down bugs via use of Console logs; and maybe booting into Terminal utility to use unix code. It can be rather involved. Maybe Linc Davis will offer some detailed reply that will invite you to read carefully and try it.
I've given up using computers long ago.

Personal Hotspot stops working periodically

I am using the 3rd Generation Verizon iPad and my area has LTE coverage.

1 Connection to iPad for Personal Hotspot
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on Personal Hotspot
2. Use a MacBook Pro (or WiFi enabled device) to make a connection
3. Stream netflix, play games or surf the web. After a period of time, the laptop will stop working.
4. Verify iPad cellular connectivity and attempt to browse web using MobileSafari (this always works). It is important to note that all Internet apps on the iPad have connectivity to the Internet (Netflix, Hulu, Games, Mail, Safari, iTunes, etc)
5. Go back to laptop and attempt to load a page, it will time out. The laptop shows that I have a valid IP but unable to connect.
6. Clear cookies, history and cache and attempt #5. This will also fail to load
7. Turn off Personal Hotspot
8. Turn off Cellular Data and wait 15 seconds then turn back on.
9. Turn Personal Hotspot on and attempt #5. This will work sometimes, if it doesn't work then goto 10
10. Turn on airplane mode and attempt step 5 after turning Personal Hotspot on. This will work sometimes, if it doesn't then go to step 11.
11. Reboot iPad
12. Attempt Step 5 after turning Personal Hotspot on. This will work.
I've also tried rebooting the laptop and shutting Airport off then back on. Both methods have the same result. I connected my iPod Touch to the iPad Personal Hotspot and I can't connect with the iPod Touch either (until I perform steps 7 to 12 above).
Anyway I can troubleshoot this issue?

do you also have a Verizon iPad? Are you on LTE?
I upgraded to iOS 6.0 to see if the issue resolved and it didn't.
using tether.com works with no issue so it's only MHS with the issue

Yahoo mail stopped working on imac when i changed passord with Yahoo

This may or may not be a coincedence but it seems about the same time. Ever since I changed my password for my yahoo account, I've had problems with getting yahoo mail to send or receive from mac mail. I simply changed my passsword on both my iphone and ipad and they've worked seamlessly, however with my imac no such luck. I've searched high and low on forums, tried changing the settings and ports. Deleted ALL yahoo related items within keychain, nothing seems to work. A couple of times I deleted the yahoo account, reinstalled and it brought in thousands of messages, but then 5 minutes later would stop working again. Now it continually gives me the message that my password is being rejected. If I go to yahoo the password works fine.
I've spent hours trying to resolve this, if anyone has any suggestions, please help me!!

This worked for me. If you have an email that will not load in your yahoo from your PC, it is probably the culprit. Delete that mail or mails and your iphone will load all of your missing emails.

Upon updage, I cannot use back button on new windows that pop-up on link clink but back button is available on the browser window and google toolbar stopped working.

I just updated my firefox and would really like to uninstall the update. My google toolbar is no longer compatible and I am having other issues. When I visit a site that links me to other parts of their site via new windows, the new window i get to has back and foward buttons, but I am unable to use them. Even though I have changed pages, the back button does not go bold and I am unable to get back to any previous pages. I dont have this problem with IE using the same site. I really want to keep using firefox but the new update is making it really hard!

Yahoo Mail Stopped Working Completely

I deleted my account and re-entered it, now it says it cannot connect to IMAP server. Any ideas?

I got it back. I had to restore the whole phone (which means removing all music since I don't want to wait 4 hours to sync a few albums). I think there was a problem with Yahoo, I was even having trouble logging in from home. I am not going to blame iPhone for this, but they should help Yahoo out or stop advertising Yahoo Push mail. It does work better if you delete all your e-mail. I don't know if you need to delete your whole account. I think it has to do with the amount of mail in the inbox and the server is unable to handle it.

Yahoo Mail Stopped working on Nokia 808

My Yahoo mail is not working anymore since yesterday on my Nokia 808. I have tried removing and re-adding my Yahoo mailbox account.
I am able to setup my new yahoo mailbox, but when it goes to retrieve email it just stops, and nothing.

Yahoo Messenger stops working on 10.5.7

I downloaded the new update but now Yahoo Messenger (both the standalone application and Adium) keeps disconnecting. Is there any way to resolve this?

Further, I have tested the headset with Yahoo Messenger in Windows and its working perfectly.
So, I guess the problem is with Yahoo Messenger and/or 10.5.7 update I guess, as it worked perfectly till day before yesterday, before installing the update. I can still connect Yahoo in Mac. Also dug in the console to find a set of error messages in the yahoo messenger log:

Yahoo Mail stopped working on 1.1.4. Any ideas?

Had 8GB Touch with 1.1.3 installed with extra apps, and Yahoo mail (through mail icon) was working fine. Upgraded to 1.1.4 and now when I try and retrieve mail it says - The user name or password for imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect. I have double checked it is OK, delete and setup the setting again, yet it says the same error every time. I have no idea how to get this working again, as nothing like the pop mail server is configurable. Any ideas??
Also I've noticed that if I delete all mail settings, then enter the mail icon, you get the new setup screen wizard, but its still trying to connect in the background with the old settings and the error message still comes up, even though all settings are supposedly deleted!

I use Yahoo! as well for my mail, and I have an 8GB. When I upgraded to the 1.1.4, I had no issue with it getting my mail, although I did notice if I was using a weak signal, oftentimes, it would tell me my username and password was incorrect.
When I first started using Yahoo! though, I found out for Yahoo! Premium, you could get your mail on a portable device (like the iPhone), so I attempted to set it up, and everytime it told me the username and password were incorrect. When I attempted to manually set it up, I couldn't, because IMAP settings are only available to premium users, so I purchased premium, and within five minutes, mail was working perfectly.

having just upgraded my iPhone 4 to 6.1.3 two days ago and after reading James Ward's comments on BT Yahoo Mail (all bets are off), I thought I was truly doomed.
I tried umpteen manual configuration changes and also deleted the Yahoo mail Account I had on my phone.
BTW, I have a "[email protected]" email address.
I was also able to login with same username/password as above to the BT Yahoo mail on the Web just fine and see all my emails, so it was just through the Mail App on my iPhone I had the problem (and only after the upgrade to 6.1.3)
At various points I had the following error messages:

Authentication: password (ticked)
Server Port: 25
Go back to main Account screen
Select your Btopenworld account just created
scroll down and select Advanced

Server Port 110
S/MIME: OFF
After I did that and I opened up my mail app, it synced and downloaded all my emails!! :-)
Nothing lost.
