Yahoo Voice Disconnecting

I recently purchased an iPod Touch, and downloaded the Yahoo app, it allowed me to use voice chat to other yahoo users, but recently it has started to disconnect me from the call shortly after making it. All the obvious solutions that I can think of I've eliminated, my internet connection is fine, my iPod is functioning normally aside from this issue, I don't have any sort of shake options enabled that would disrupt it. I've tried restarting, resetting, wiping my iPod clean. Downloading Yahoo via IM+ lite but that version doesn't support voice calls, I know there's a few other apps that may work but I like my Yahoo As a side question, what other apps are there that enable free voice chat to pcs? I think Skype, not sure what else. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.
PS. I'm not sure on my OS, but if you feel it's relavant I can find it out and post it later. However I tried updating it recently so I think it's at it's most modern version of what it can be.

I tried calling that IBM number, 1-800-426-7378 through Yahoo, and also through three other toll-free termination providers. If anyone wants to try it just put the below SIP numbers into Speed Dial memory slots in your ATA.

The first one, voipmich, seems to connect to the same IVR menu as when calling through Yahoo Voice, and I heard the woman's voice. The last two, sipphone and sipbroker, both connected me to a different IVR menu, it had a man's voice and DTMF IVR control worked there.
I thought it worth mentioning that IVR menu control did not work even when calling from a SPA2102 account configured with a Gizmo5.com account. Apparently, the IVR control issue is not only with Yahoo Voice.

Skype Out and Yahoo Voice

I have my Mac Pro and a Windows PC connected to my network thru an airport extreme in bridge mode. The main router is a Linksys. I can't seem to get my Skype Out or Yahoo Voice (the one that lets you call to real phone numbers in cheap rates).
When I connect to my router directly, it works just fine.
Any idea what could possibly happen?

I am not certain that this version of Yahoo Messenger has video chat.
There is a beta version out of Yahoo Messenger which has Mac OS X 10.3.9 as a minimum requirement:

It says it has webcam support, but I'm not sure which webcams may be included in that support.
Personally, I use Apple's iChat (which uses the AIM protocol) for instant messaging. iChat is included with Mac OS X 10.3.

Yahoo keeps disconnecting on ichat on lion 10.7

I am trying to use yahoo on ichat and its been working fine for the past days but today it keeps disconnecting and i cannot use it. when i connect to yahoo thru Adium it owrks fine. any ideas?

Ports 80 and 443 should be open in most routers anyway.
I cannot say I have seen a Table where there can be multiple Trigger Ports.
If you are using iChat 3 then it can be written this was.
Trigger 5678 (UDP only) as this is the Visible Invite and Start of A/V stuff
Incoming ports are then 5060 (if iChat 3) then the group (16384-16403 for iChat 3) 16393-16402 (Smaller group but inside the iChat 3 ones)
Text Chatting in AIM is on port 5190 TCP by default in iChat versions prior to 6 as is the Login.
If you Change the Login port (to 443) then the Text chat moves
File Sharing on AIM needs port 5190 on UDP
I would tend to heave the Login Port trigger the File Sharing port.
As you can set up the Jabber one the way you have I would not alter it.
As already stated I am not seeing this here in the UK (I get pushed to a UK Yahoo Server)
I am also using UPnP in my router.

YahooIM just upgraded their 3.0 beta for Mac, now to include voice chat. A friend & I both upgraded on the same day. I can hear him AOK, but I get get him to hear me, nor show any input bars on the tiny screen VU meters.
Now here's the difference: He has an Intel iMac w built-in cam and mic while I'm running 10.4.11 on a dual G5 silver tower and an iSight cam. [My cam & mic work great on iChat/AIM, as well as input for iMovieHD, so the cam is working OK]
So, anyone have a similar situation?
Any ideas?

The voice chat is through the telephone icon. Have you tried using the telephone voice chat to contact your buddy? Did you repair permissions and restart your computer after installing YahooIM? How about reinstalling YahooIM? Remember 3.0 is beta & issues should be expected.
I have been using 3.0 for quite some time and to date have not experiencing any issues using the telephone voice chat.

Yahoo! Voice on SPA2102: problem with delayed answer supervision

My SPA2102 running 5.2.3 is configured for Yahoo! Voice on Line 1. Inbound and outbound calls are generally excellent, but there is a problem calling certain US toll-free numbers; one cannot send DTMF or speech to control the IVR that answers. Here are the details:
The Yahoo! Messenger softphone sends and receives its RTP packets (encapsulated in UDP as usual) via a 'relay' server. This occurs whether or not the PC running Messenger is behind a NAT. Unfortunately, I cannot duplicate this behavior on the SPA. When I set STUN Server: stun.voice.yahoo.com, TURN Server: relay.voice.yahoo.com:443, and Auth Server: login.yahoo.com, the system is fully functional, but the RTP is TCP encapsulated, packetization varies greatly, latency is long, and minor packet loss or delay results in very choppy voice. This happens even when the device is on an unrestricted public IP and the STUN server responses correctly indicate no NAT. I've tried all manner of SPA settings attempting to use the relay in UDP mode, to no avail.
The above by itself is no big deal, because I'd rather avoid the relay server altogether -- it only adds complexity, delay and jitter. If I set TURN Server: 0.0.0.0 (and SPA is on a public IP), then one can make and receive calls with RTP/UDP packets going directly to/from the carrier's server. For example, if a call is sent via AT&T, the RTP packets come from (and go to) an AT&T media server, with no Yahoo! servers in the media path at all, resulting in the lowest latency and best quality of any VoIP service I've tested. This will also work when the device is behind a NAT, if you turn on NAT Mapping Enable and Handle VIA Received, and forward the appropriate RTP port range in the router to the SPA.
Unfortunately, there's a gotcha: Many large toll-free users (example: IBM on 800-426-7378) have IVR systems that don't provide 'answer supervision' until the call is connected to a human. (Their contracts don't require them to pay minutes for the IVR portion of the call; they signal 'answer' to their carrier when billing is to start.) In SIP terms, this means that you get a 183 Progress response when the IVR comes on, but there is no 200 OK until a human picks up. However, when configured as described, the SPA doesn't send any RTP packets until the 200 OK is received. This means that you hear the IVR but can't control it with DTMF or with speech. I don't know why this should be -- when not in Yahoo! mode, an SPA will normally start sending RTP as soon as the SDP tells it to, typically upon receipt of a 183 Progress. I've confirmed that the SDP sent with the 183 does specify a valid send/receive session, and I've tried every imaginable setting as a workaround, to no avail.
Is this a firmware bug? Or have I somehow missed an important setting? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

E5 Yahoo! email disconnects.

So, i surfed atound the web to find an answer but nothing so please someone try to help. i set up 2 email accounts on my new Nokia E5, gmail and yahoo. so the gmail z working fine, but the yahoo is not connected at anytime and when i go to options>connect, i get yahoo mail connected and right away i get yahoo mail disconnected, what's the deal?? i tried disconnecting the gmail and re-connect the yahoo but didn't help!

Yahoo messenger voice chat - in desperate help

anyone be able to help me how come my yahoo voice conversation is no longer working. It seems that I can't make outgoing and receive in coming. This feature was working fine until Thursday nite. Any help is appreciated. I have tried deleting and reloading yahoo messenger and still the issue persist.

As for Yahoo. See if you can locate an associated preference file. Go to...
Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Look in the Preferences folder for a file similar to this.
com.yahoo.plist that's probably not the exact wording but it's close. If you find it, drag that file to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
See if that helps. If not... download and install Leopard Cache Cleaner. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/leopardcachecleaner.html
Launch LCacheCleaner. Click the Maintain tab and select Repair Permissions and Run Maintenance Scripts. Quit LCacheCleaner and try Yahoo Messenger.

Why no Ipad versions of Skype or Yahoo messenger yet?

I am really surprised that native iPad versions of skype and yahoo messenger haven't come out yet. I'm beginning to think that it has something to do with ATT? It just doesn't make sense that those companies would not release versions by now.
The iPhone versions suck on the iPad. Plus the iPhone version of yahoo messenger doesn't even come with voice in or out. I use yahoo voice to make calls on my iMac all the time. Kinda blows I can't do so on my iPad yet.
What gives? Anyone know? Why the delay?

This is really a user to user forum for Apple products. I don't think anyone here is an expert on non-Apple apps. Furthermore, if you need to complain, why aren't you doing it at forums focused on the two products you're discussing.
That being said, Skype's app does work on the iPad, though not well. It doesn't work over 3G (or at least not well). And it can't work in the background, because iOS 4 is not available for the iPad.
The iPad makes a pretty bad iPhone, to be honest. It's huge. And when you're using Skype, you can't do anything else. Reading several comments by Skype from way back in April, it appears that they are not working on an iPad version at this time. Who knows what they're doing when iOS 4 shows up.
But you really need to take your complaints to Yahoo and Skype.

Messages won't keep my Yahoo account connected

I am experiencing a new issue with Messages keeping my Yahoo Messenger account logged in. It's worked properly for years, but over the last few days the Yahoo account disconnects after momentarily connecting. I deleted the Yahoo account from Internet Accounts and reinstalled it with the same outcome. iMessages, AIM accounts all work fine. It's just Yahoo.
Using the stand alone Yahoo Messenger application works fine. The account connects and stays connected, unless OS X Messages makes a connection attempt, briefly succeeds and forces the Yahoo app to disconnect. The Yahoo app stays connected if I disable connection attempts from Messages.
Any suggestions would be welcome

I have just found out what's wrong. I went to the 'more info' section of my Chitchat application and it took me to a link where it explained that Yahoo Chat has ditched chatting with the Java protocol and chatters can now only chat via the Yahoo Messenger protocol, which is Yahoo Instant Messenger with Voice. Unfortunately Yahoo doesn't provide a platform for Yahoo Voice for Macintosh computers. Though the original link I went to provides another link to a thing called 'Adium' from which a Mac can access Yahoo Chat's new protocol, although it's not fully developed yet.
Oh...and thanks so much for letting me know about the Java update release. I did not know that I have to upgrade my system first to recieve the latest update information.

Problems with Audigy and Yahoo Messenger/Teamspeak/any web speak prog

So, I have a soundblaster audigy with the front input panel thingy with all the different inputs/outputs (forgive my lack of computerness), and I'd like to be able to use the MIC IN 2 input for headset to talk to people online. I can hear myself fine over my own speakers/headphones when I plug a mic in there, but I cannot get any sound to activate when I try Yahoo voice messenger or teamspeak. A clue is....when I tried to plug the mic in to the horrible input on the back of the computer (the tiny /8 one) I did register some sound but only a crackling noise. Is there some setting I need to switch specifically for online transmission?

PC Alert 4 and Windows XP bluescreens and crashes?

I'm just inquiring as to wether anyone else has had trouble with PC Alert 4?
Is it PC Alert or the newest KT4V-6712 mobo drivers.... which is the culprit?
A few months back, after a routine Live Update (installing the newest versions of my mobo drivers, and PC Alert 4), I began having black screen resets/crashes, and blue screen errors.
Prior to the above mentioned update (running my older mobo drivers and PC Alert 2), my system was fine. No crashes, no blue error screens.
I thought at first it might be the updated AC97 sound drivers, because the crashes seemed to happen when I was in Yahoo voice chat, or I had windows media player running.
Also, it seems that the Live update proggy, when auto installing the drivers, just overwrites the old drivers rather than a proper uninstall of the old, first.
I know this because while installing the new AC 97 drivers 5.620, it hung during install, and I had to restart.
It then showed the new version but also the old version AVRack icon/files, which was weird....
So I tried to uninstall them, thinking it must be a corrupt install.
When I tried to do this, I crashed.
Anyways, after many attempts, I was able to remove them.
I then did a clean install of these new drivers. Still got crashes and blue screens.
So I reformatted my HD, started clean.
Installed the newest drivers for my mobo right from the MSI live update site, including PC Alert 4.
Of course! Still crashed!
So I reformatted HD again! I hate when things are buggy, perhaps you can relate?
I thought I could narrow it down.....
(These crashes always occured when I was running PC Alert - CoolerXP, Yahoo voice chat, and/or windows media player.) So this time I decided to use older AC97 version 5.490 sound drivers. Installed everything else for the mobo the same, and yes, PC Alert 4!
Still crashed!
Hmm, maybe the sound drivers aren't the problem.....
So I uninstalled PC Alert 4.
I thought I'd try this just to see.....
Bingo! Haven't crashed since.
Still might be to soon to tell yet, if PC Alert4 was the BUG?
Still using Yahoo voice chat and windows media player ......no probs!
My CPU runs on average around 44c-47c, so the PC Alert 4-CoolerXP isn't that big a deal. Besides I can check the bios for a more accurate temp.
She doesn't usually get too hot....
And I can always check out 'speedfan'...try it on for a fit!

Oh I forgot to mention, I realise there's a conflict with PC Alert 4 and Fuzzy Logic, but I didn't (and don't) have Fuzzy Logic installed.

Urgent!! Account hacked while signed in

This far from the usual hacking complaint.
While I was logged into my account and IMing with a friend, someone sent a message from my own account/username, and I didn't know it was being sent until it already appeared in the window. It appeared mixed in amongst the messages I had actually written. As if someone had just popped in, typed something, and then ran away. What's even more disturbing is that the message included personal information.
I don't know how this is possible. As far as I know it's not possible for two people to be logged into the same account, however, I didn't send that message myself and yet somehow it ended up in the chat window.
Can someone clue me in on how this can happen and who might have the type of skill to do something like this?

It's a normal thing for a SKYPE account to get hacked. Infact, Skype actually like it. It helps them charge more to their users than they normally would. SKYPE INVITES YOUR ACCOUNT TO GET HACKED. Solution? Close your account, get a Yahoo Voice account; they're the same VOIP backbone...

Headset setting to use with iMac not Iphone what's the latest

I have been using my iMac with Skype using a head set (generic) that it took me a while to make it work, but now is back to the same old problem. People can hear me I can hear everything when I'm on line but no one can hear me.
