Yahoo Widgets Not Functioning
Several months ago Yahoo Widgets malfunctioned on my Macbook Pro. When I activate it, the "gears" icon in the Desktop menu bar appears for a brief moment or two, then disappears. The app does not appear to be running as no widgets are visible nor does the widget dock open. Clicking directly on a widget does nothing. I've tried to get Yahoo to look into this but their advice is to dump the pref files. Duh. I tried that and nothing changed. I've also deleted and re-installed both the app and the most recent Java update with no result. Could this be a result of a recent java upgrade? It appears as though Mac's widget engine has also had some recent failure– could the two be caused by the same problem? Advice, please!
apparently, they have added encryption to all their services, including messenger. I have also heard on another forum that they are no longer updating the program for macs and are recommending people use ichat....however, the older ichats don't support yahoo, only the newer OS does. Adium and Trillium also fail to log into yahoo chat as well.

I've noticed that my new ipad is showing my tablet layout of muse website, but some of the widgets are not functioning correctly. I have tried a few widgets for the tablet layout and it has resulted in problems.

sits such as facebook, yahoo, and sports illustrated do not function correctly on firefox but they do on my internet explorer. I believes its somehow set itself into the same format used for cellular devices... My JSU.edu page says somethin about it being in (portal mode). It is also a different format now that normal.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY TouchSmart 17 Notebook PC and a keys not functioning correctly. Here is a document on cleaning the keyboard.
I would start with air on the keys as sometimes debris can cause this issue.
Here is a link to uninstall the keyboard. In the device manager have you uninstall all that is listed in keyboards, restart the computer after uninstalling, it should reinstall automatically and resolve any issues with the keyboard.

Here is a fix from Microsoft that might help.

FTP Passwords not retained. Business Catalyst widget not functioning correctly
I am using OS X 10.10.3, Dreamweaver 2014.1.1 Build 6982.
I am unable to connect to my remote server through business catalyst. it tells me that my credentials are incorrect and to check the settings.
I check my credentials for the ftp server and it is not retaining the password. I re-type the password and test connection. No problems.
I try to connect to remote site again to update pages and the same problem happens. I go back to site settings and the ftp password is blank again.
I have followed the steps described in the known issue page and it did nothing to help .
the add on widget for business catalyst is not able to connect to the site either.
I would really like to find a fix to this asap as I need to update my site via Dreamweaver.
Note. I am able to connect to the web portal for my business catalyst site without issues, so it is not a problem with my account.

First of all, could you try to log in to the Business Catalyst Admin Dashboard of your site and check if you are able to log in from there.
Could you uninstall BC DW add in on DW CC from Extension manager and also from https://creative.adobe.com/addons
I would recommend you to uninstall BC add in from both places and then install BC Add in from https://creative.adobe.com/addons as well as download and install the add in via Extension manager ( https://creative.adobe.com/addons/patches/4965/install )
Let me know by trying these steps, if that works or not.

I recently installed MacKeeper and following my Dashboard widgets stopped working. After trying to delete them, restart and generally go through a cleaning process which lost a lot of my set up I found an archived post which recommended going in and using force quit on all activity monitor processes called DashboardClient. Thankfully everything is working again. It is illogical considering I have restarted the Mac numerous times but at least it works. If anyone else has found this issue then I hope this post is useful.

Contacts Widget not functioning properly
A search of contacts in the dashboard contacts widget returns no matching contacts even though the searched contacts are available in the main contacts application. I think i may have denied the widget access to my contacts list. Is there a way to turn it back on and functioning again?
Once you Open System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Contacts and press Dashboard.
Check or uncheck the Dashboard box, and then choose "Quit Now". Depending on whether it was checked or unchecked originally, you want to end up with it checked. Once you check it and choose "Quit Now", it should work in Dashboard.
I don't know what they mean by "Quit Now" or "Later", but choosing "Quit Now" worked.

Multiple Spry Widgets not functional on one page

Widgets Do Not Function in Browser, Only in Preview Mode.
I created a lightbox and a tabbed section on separate pages, and the wodgets do not function when I test in browser or or open html conversions in a browser. They test fine in preview mode.

Actually, the problem seems to be Explorer. Works fine in Safari. Frequently have to insert fixes for special problems in IE. Are there any fixes for IE's peculiar problems?
Also works fine in Mozilla FF & Chrome. Mulitple problems in IE with display, and Widgets are completely non-functional.I am referring to the attached files, which are a Muse site conversion to html. I have had problems in the past emailing web info, so if you want me to ftp the files somewhere, I can do that. These pages have not been published yet.
The two pages in question are in the file. If you open them in IE, the widgets do not function. In the index page, the text in the New & Events area to the right are Lightbox links. In the cottages page, you can see the slide show in the main middle are and the tabs on the right in the shadow box.
The side show works off and on. The lightbox (index) and tabs (cottages) do not function at all. There are no error messages. IE does not indicate working links (no finger).
As I believe you know, IE has problems displaying things that other browsers do not. Dreamweaver templates, for example, include a blockquote instruction for html5 that is needed for IE to display certain items properly. Since the pages will function normally in Safari, Mozilla FF and Google Chrome, I conclude there is a problem with IE.

There was an automatic Windows update this morning. Since then, I get the error message "TypeError: Yahoo.widget.overlay is not a constructor" when I open up certain websites, such as ancestry.com. Other sites, such as Facebook, don't work at all. Everything appears scrambled when I open the website. Other sites appear to not be affected, although I haven't done more than open them up. These errors are only occurring with Firefox, and not with IE. IE still works just fine.
Sounds like a problem with an Yahoo extension (toolbar)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

When opening the Firefox, browser my home page Yahoo is not loading properlly. It open but the data on Yahoo page is all cloged on the left side of the screen and do no show the data nor the icons work, and i cant access any information nor sites, do not respond or work the yahoo page..

Muse social widgets not working
Hi, trying to set up a simple google map in a muse website. Following tutorials (Lynda.com) I DRAGGED THE WIGET INTO THE PAGE AND ENTERED THE URL OF THE BUSINESS INVOLVED. i keep getting a dialog saying cannot create thumbnail. I can access the map required and copy the full URL and the short url, but neither works. I hope I am not wasting some £500.00 GPB ON ADOBE PRODUCTS
Hi Good People, sorry still no success! Google Maps Widget is not functioning correctly in Muae 2014! I have tried pasting in the long URL and Google's short address and the postal address into the widget field. It spins for a while the freezes on the Adobe default with a warning "!" I have tried putting in my own residence address and still no map is generated. I can only think it is a fault with the maps widget. Any suggestions will be appreciated, and thank you for your attempts to find a solution.

Vicious MPD widget not displaying the artist and song title
EDIT: This thread can be closed now. It turns out Clementine doesn't support mpd and I'm now running ncmpcpp and the widget shows the artist and song title.
I have trouble getting the mpd widget running in awesome wm, it will only display "N/A - N/A". I've read the wiki and done a lot of googling but I can't figure out what I'm missing.

If the songs were purchased from itunes, I suggest that you delete the tracks from your itunes library and move to trash (providing you live in a country that permits redownloading). See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12283.

Calendar Widget Not Showing Upcoming Events
I've upgraded to the latest N900 firmware (pr1.2) and ever since I have had a problem with the calendar widget. All the events are contained in the calendar when I open it however they are not displayed on the desktop widget.
I've got events loaded for the month of June but for some reason these are not showing. Instead I have events showing for July, September and even December. I've tried removing all the entries and the re-adding them but this hasn't solved the problem. I also created another calendar and placed the entries in the new one, again this didn't work.
Does anybody have any idea how I can resolve this problem.I have exactly the same problem with the Calendar Widget not showing all upcoming events. It will show events way in the future but skip events inbetween. I've tried all day with PC Suite 7.1 and Outlook 2007 and some freshly entered events come across for unknown reasons whilst others do not. No amount of changing local entries to synchronized ones, deleting all calendar info from the phone and re-syncing by USB cable or Bluetooth solves the problem.
It worked fine before and, as you say, corresponds with the recent n900 software update.
I SINCERELY HOPE NOKIA READ THESE BULLETIN BOARDS.
Also, why isn't there a fully compatible PC Suite or Ovi Suite for the n900? I have a PC running Windows 7 and Nokia have told me in the past that they do not have a fully functional, compatible PC/Ovi Suite for Windows 7 and the n900.

Dashboard has stopped working. The App will open, but none of the widgets will function. I've deleted widgets & added new ones, but they also will not work.
I get the "License has stopped working" mesages too.
We have a MacbookPro at home. There are two user-acounts on this mac, one for my wife and one for myself. This way we keep our personal stuff (e-mail, files, settings, dropbox, desktop clutter etc) separated. "Fast user switching" is enabled to easily switch to your personal account.
Now when I open Photoshop I might get the dreaded "License has stopped working" message. This will happen if Photoshop is left open in her account. So I'll have to log into her account, close Photoshop, go back into my own acount and open Photoshop again.
I should not get this message since Photoshop is not part of a particular user account, it is installed in the "Applications" folder which is accesible to all users.
What makes it even more annoying is that I get the "License has stopped working" message on trying to open Photoshop even when Photoshop is closed in in the other acount, but Illustrator is opened.
This makes no sense since we bought Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 as separate programs, not as a part of the Creative Suite.
I did not report this to Adobe yet but it wil do that now. -
Windows live and yahoo messengers not working

I have a blackberry 8520 using V5 OS and downloaded the latest service books as well as the latest version of windows live and yahoo messengers. The problem is i try to log onto either of them and its justs tries to login with no success, i am on a pay as you go tarfiff with access to wifi. With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support...and to find out if, via the plan you are paying for, you even should be expecting these services to function. Many services will not function without an adequate data plan, even via WiFi...but only your carrier can tell you exactly what services you can expect to work with your plan.
