Yahoo won't accept my e-mails

For about 2 weeks I haven't been able to send e-mail to anyone with a Yahoo account. Their tech support has been unhelpful. This is the return message I get. Any ideas?

Besides contacting Yahoo technical support, there isn't much else you can do since this is not a Mail application problem nor a problem with OS X or your computer.
Are you sending with a .Mac account or an email account provided by your ISP or other?
Have you tried sending with the account via webmail access using a browser? I don't believe this will make any difference but it can't hurt to try.

  • Won't accept my aol mail account

Anyone else having trouble setting up aol email account?

I still had one from back in the early 2000s. Haven't used it since but I added it to my iPad just to try out after reading your thread and the iPad had no trouble setting it up.

  • HT1338 my mail version 4.6 on my desktop with OSX 10.6.8 is driving me nuts. It won't accept my password on a regular basis. I've tried several times calling Apple and having them reconfigure it to no avail. Any ideas or links? thanks so much

I can't get or send mail. Won't accept password. Mail version 4.6 on my iMac
    OSX 10.6.8

I have one more development to add. In step "4" above I suspected that it could be something to with the Ethernet settings as I hadn't had the option of typing in the colleges wifi credentials. So I tried the "get help online" option to test it, managed to sign in and tried the step 4 again.
This time I received a different error message "could not find installation information for this machine".
    Thanks

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

  • Mail won't accept any commands post IOS 5

Just dopwnloaded IOS5. Now, I can open Mail, it downloads my emails well enough but then it won't accept any interaction.
Really bizarre... Anyone had similar issues?

I just called Bell and we switched Bell to my primary SMTP and my home to the secondary and now I can send email from my iPhone again.
Not sure why this changed with iOS 5.0?

  • GMail won't accept password using Mac Mail

I set up my POP access according to Gmail's directions, and can log

Please disregard, I've figured out the problem. In case it could help someone else, when asked for the User Name, you have to include the "@gmail.com" where with Apple Mail, you don't have to.

  • Mail won't sync with my .mac account - won't accept password

I have a MacBook running the OS X 10.6.8.  Recently I have found that I cannot sync my Mail with my .mac account.  I can log on through the internet to iCloud and read emails (I know my password is valid), but when I try to get them synced to my Mail account it won't accept the password.  It looks like this may be a conflict with Mail not being updated to iCloud, but I am unsure.  I have not found an update that will update the Mail to link with iCloud.  My computer is also not new enough to update to the new Lion OS.  Am I stuck?  This has been very discouraging and I have been wasting hours of valuable time trying to figure out how to fix this.

Did you turn on iCloud Drive by any chance? If so, then until Yosemite comes out, you won't be able to sync your documents and data to your Mac:

  • HELP .. mail 3.2 won't accept password

I have several email accounts that have been working until today.
One of the accounts will not allow me to check email. It keeps asking for the password and then it won't accept it.
I have tried going into preferences/accounts to re-enter the password and it still won't work.
Nothing has changed and all the other accounts are working fine.
I even went into keychain and deleted the account file and it will not accept the password.
Please help me .. I need to check my mail.
    Chuck

I suggest running Keychain First Aid on your login keychain via Keychain Access.
Have you tried logging in to this account via webmail access using a browser to confirm you are able to login and access the account with this password separate from the Mail.app?

  • My e-mail address was "hacked into" and a bogus email sent in my name---now I can't access my email because it won't accept my password.

The email was sent at approx. 6:45 a.m. Tuesday to everyone in my address book. It stated that I was in Wales and had been mugged---all my cash, credit cards, and cell phone taken. My flight was supposed to leave in 6 hours, but the hotel wouldn't let me leave until I paid my bill. The email didn't give any contact information---so I'm assuming it was a "Trojan horse" to give a virus to everyone on my address list.
Now, I can't open my email because it won't accept my usual password. Attempts to change my password have been unsuccessful. It says that I have not been properly identified to change my password.

You will need to contact the customer services for the email service that was hacked and try to convince them that your account has been hacked.
There are a number of ways that they get access to the password. One of the most common is by phishing, you are presented with a bogus site that looks like the login page for the email service/site and you enter your login details. This is frequently done by sending an email to you saying that you need to log into the site or need to confirm your details.
To makes sure that your computer is not infected with malware, try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:

Do you have one, two or more entries in the left colum of Mail.app for your mail server(s)?  That is, do you have your Mail.app set up with either a btinternet entry, with a btyahoo entry, or both?  Or more?
I'm guessing that you might have one account (btyahoo?) listed for incoming (IMAP server) mail, and with the outbound (SMTP server) mail is configured and named btinternet.
Based on what little I see posted, it looks like BT uses both btinternet and btyahoo, but I'm not exactly clear on how they have their stuff set up, and their web set gets helpful and tries to help configure my mail — I don't immediately see a single web page with the mail server set-up details.  The BT email client set-up starts here.

  • IMac running 10.5.8, me email won't accept my password. One day it worked normally, next day it won't and I did not change password. Now I cannot reset the password, almost as if it was changed by someone else. I am the only user of this iMac.

My email won't accept my password, was working fine, then one day it wasn't. It is almost as if someone else changed the password and now I cannot use my password or change it to a new one. My iMac is running 10.5.8 , using Earthlink and Safari. Any ideas on this problem?

  • Java install won't accept Ok ?? Desperate for help??

Java install won't accept <Ok>?? Desperate for help??
I've decided that I'm going to develop my Rails applications in Linux and keep hitting a BRICK WALL every time I try to install NetBeans or Java. I download all of the packages and come to a text screen that says "Package Configuration" and then "Configuring sun-java5-bin" and then it asks you to read the agreement and there's an <Ok> at the bottom. I can't get through this and everytime it fails my 'package manager' goes bonkers and I have to reload the Ubuntu Gutys Gibbon operating system AGAIN!!!
I push ENTER and type in "yes" and "Ok" and there is no response.
I've loaded this operating system FIVE TIMES NOW and the bottleneck is very frustrating as I can't program in a graphics environment without Java.
I joined this forum just to ask this question and would be grateful for a reply at [email protected]
    Thank you,

  • My iMac won't Accept My AOL Account and Gmail Account

For some reason my iMac won't accept new emails from my AOL and Gmail accounts which was weird since it was able to yesterday. I read from one of the post on the Apple community threads that I could delete the accounts on the Account section in Preferences and just reenter them which I tried to do but I can't reenter the AOL account because it's saying it can't "verify" the account/password (And I know that I didn't put down the wrong password) and it'll accept the Google account but it won't accept the Gmail part.
Now I have a Mail app on my iMac that won't accept my AOL or Gmail accounts and I don't know what to do. So far my iPhone doesn't have a problem with reading emails and I can still look at the emails through the websites but I want to be able to use the Mail app)

    Hi sierra42,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iMac. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact verification message you are receiving. If it is regarding verification of the outgoing mail server, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • Won't accept my birth date.

When I try to buy new songs in iTunes, it want me to upgrade my security. It wants me to do so by having three security questions, an extra e-mail address, and my date of birth. Now the security questions go fine, and so does the e-mail address, but the **** thing won't accept my date of birth no matter how many different ways I type the numbers in. I have tried most ways that I can think of, but everything is "invalid". Now, as a result, I can't buy any new music. What do I do?

THe fist does not work as it's asked for a birthdate and will not recognize mine. in reasearching this further,it looks as if iTunes not recognizing the correct answer to a security question is a very common problem and that this is actually a huge issue that has lead to many folks not being able to ever access their purchased music again. Apple support has not even been able to unlock old user ID accounts.  Is their a class action lawsuit in regards to this?
