Yamaha 665 multi channel receiver will not recognize subwoofer
I am connected to Time Warner Cable and ps3 w/ hdmi sub woofer is working and has power. I have checked every setting.......brand new cable
What do the settings on each connected device have to be set at.
I went back to American with the sub woofer and tested it on their system and it worked. Their answer: Something is set wrong.
That is all I know I am the writing vessel....The system belongs to other members of my family
You have to dial into each device's input via your receiver. For example, if your Time Warner box is on HDMI 1 (and that's the device you're trying to use at the time), adjust the receiver's input to HDMI 1 as well, or the surround sound won't work with that component. This is the easiest way I can explain it ... the tricky part may be finding the input (or sometimes it's called source) button on your receiver. To check which input each of your devices is connected to on your TV, use your TV remote and press the input or source button (usually under the last row of numbers). Doing this should either populate an input menu, or automatically toggle to the next input.

All,
I was forced to migrate to a new PC for work. It is running Windows Vista Enterprise. Since receiving the PC, iTunes will not recognize my CD/DVD Drive. I receive the following error message:
"Warning, The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing....." etc.
I have completed the following troubleshooting steps with no success:
1. Deleted upper and lower filters in the registry per the Microsoft fix from their web site.
2. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes/Quicktime/Etc.
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled the CD/DVD Drive
4. Verified that other programs recognize and can burn to my CD/DVD drive. I have Windows Media Player and Roxio Creator Basic installed.
5. Verified that Windows Vista recognizes my CD/DVD drive.
6. Installed the GEAR driver recommended on the Apple Support page for this issue.
All of my music in is iTunes and I prefer to burn my CD's via iTunes. I have read that several people are having this issue.
Does anyone have a solution? There has to be a fix out there somewhere.
I can downgrade to XP but it will take an "Act Of Congress" for my corporate IT group to send me the XP downgrade CD.

Problems in app world transferring devices:: App world support will not recognize my tour PIN
I recently just changed from a storm to a tour. I downloaded app world on the tour, entered in my paypal information, and had my applications transfered to the new phone. However, my activation numbers for all my apps are incorrect when i try to activate them. I remember some of the activation numbers being the same activation that i used on my storm. I believe this is where the complication may be. However, app world insists that my activation number is correct.
I have tried to contact app world support and it will not recognize my tour PIN number.
When I try to fill out the form, it says : "Please provide a valid Blackberry Smartphone PIN"
My pin number is correct and i have entered it numerous times. Anyone know whats wrong?

Windows will not recognize my ipod
My windows will not recognize my ipod. I tried running the latest Ipod Updater several times and received the following error message: Ipod requires Windows 2000(SP) or Windows XP, Please update your software and try again. I have Windows XP so I'm a bit confused to why I'm receiving that error message.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I already tried "re-starting" my ipod and that didn't work either.Unfortunately, there is no one ‘Silver Bullet’ answer for this issue. Many things can contribute to the problem. Here are various ‘generic’ solutions that you can try in an effort to correct your problem. One should work. These are listed in simplest to more involved order (usually).
First, make sure that the iPod is fully charged.
Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.
If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC
If that doesn't work, Put Your iPod into Disk Mode then plug it in and you should be able to Restore the iPod
Your PC may have difficulty with the USB2 protocol and the iPod. See this Article for a possible solution: iPod not Recognized Correctly
Also try these hints (and the other suggestions above) from any other USB port you may have on the PC. Sometimes switching USB ports can make all the difference.

If you are getting a ‘Missing Drivers’ message, try this:
1. Go to http://www.driverguide.com and register (free)
2. Download ‘usbstor.sys’ & ‘usbstor.inf’ to your PC and place them in your i386 Folder
3. Update both drivers by selecting the two files you just downloaded
4. Reboot computer
5. Open iTunes and then connect you iPod
If all the above fails, you may have a Virus, Malware or SpyWare problem.
If you do find that your Device Manager is blank, you should probably check up on this issue first: No Items Appear in the Device Manager List When You Open It -
APE11 will not recognize any blu-ray media
I have APE11 and attempting to burn a project to blu-ray. My problem is that APE11 recognizes the blu-ray burner but will not recognize any blu-ray discs. I have tried various BD-R and BD-R DL discs to no avail. I receive a "Media not present" message. If I select the same burner but choose to create a DVD, I receive a "Incompatible disc" message. This leads me that it sees the discs but I'm not sure what's up with the blu-ray option. The blu-ray discs are Verbatim and Windows recognizes the discs as well. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

What Blu-ray burner do you have? Is it recognized in the Device Manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives? Driver and Firmware up to date?
What burn software came with the Blu-ray burner? If it is part of the CyberLink family, can you use the PowerProducer of the series to burn to Blu-ray disc format on a Blu-ray disc using these Blu-ray discs that Premiere Elements burn dialog is labelling "Media Not Present"? I would like to see the results of that test if possible.
Just to get it out of the way (maybe helpful), let us flush the preferences...

and in the 11 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs Folder that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 11 Folder in which it exists.Make sure that you are working with Folder Options/Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the path described.
If that does not work, a complete Deactivation from Help Menu/Deactivate followed by the usual Control Panel uninstalled followed by reinstall may be in order. I am hoping the results from a CyberLink PowerProducer burn to may give us some valuable information so that we do not have to resort to uninstall/reinstall.
Are you using BD-R 25 GB 2X? What is this BD-R DL? Is that the 50 GB for Blu-ray? Do you have any BD-RE 25 GB 6X? How much are you planning on putting on this Blu-ray disc in terms of Space Required and duration?
Let us start here and then we can decide what next.

I changed my email password on Gmail last night. I then went into settings on my MAC to reflect the changes but it will not recognize it. I double checked to ensure I had the right password and it is. I can log into my email from safari with no issues. I have varified that all account information is correct but its still not working. Carefully type your admin password when asked & hit enter, as it won't be echoed, then restart the Mac.
The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server.

Ipod touch will not recognize my hotmail password!
Password works fine on my pc when I log in, but when i try to get my email on the touch it will not recognize the password! I have tried shut down/reboot, changed the password in hotmail account and no luck! Any ideas for me?
Tried that last night. Apple support guy tried to convince me that it was my email account, but everything works just fine on my account. I can send, receive, log in and out. Just wont work on my touch!

Tungsten E2 will not recognize SD card
I am writing in regards to a Palm Tungsten E2 which I received for Christmas. This device was purchased from the Palm store in November, but not opened until Christmas. The problem is that the device will not recognize a SD card when inserted. I am using new SanDisk 512 Mb, and 1 Gb SD cards. When I go to card information in the Applications menu, it says "no card inserted". Also, there is no sound when the card is inserted, though it will turn the device on, which indicates that there is some form of recognition. I have checked under Preferences and the sound option is on. Also, I have checked and the card is in the unlocked position. Any advice that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have been a Palm user for more than seven years now, first with the Palm 500 and then with the Zire 71. I use it extensively for work and am lost when I don't have it.
