Yamaha XG-AC Audio device not working after SP2 for XP was installed

Hi,
i'm new in this forum and maybe my question is a stupid one but i'm not able to solve this problem.
My Satellite 5200-801 doesn't make any sound after i've installed SP2 for XP. I tried to find a new driver for Yamaha XG-AC Audio Device( the one that doesn't work is 6.13.10.2152 (date 19/07/2002)but i was not able to find anything.

I found another posting in this forum about this issue!
Your Satellite 5200-802 has a sound chip called Yamaha YMF753 and it is built in different notebooks! This chip does make problems with Service Pack 2 because MS regards the Yamaha AC-XG sound driver as being unstable. When Service Pack 2 is installed, Windows will disable the sound driver.

No sound and audio device not working properly, T61 vista

I unistalled the audio device SoundMax integrated HD audio because I had problems getting the mic of my new webcam (Logitech pro 9000) to work. But after reinstalling the SoundMax audio driver the audio device is no longer working.
Installing the SoundMax driver doesn't report any problems and the device manger also says that the SoundMax integrated digital hd audio device is working properly. But the speaker icon on the taskbar is crossed out. When hovering the mouse over the speaker icon it says Volume: 0 SoundMax integrated digital hd audio. When opening the Volume Mixer it says "No audio decivice is installed"...
I've completly removed all drivers and reinstalling several times but I cannot get it to work so I really need some help now.
All software + drivers regarging the webcam has been completly removed.
System data:
T61, Vista business
Audio chip seems to be a Analog Devices 1984
SoundMax driver version 6.10.1.5510 (latest available from lenovo)

Really silly bug, but there are times with the T series laptops, specifically the T61s that seem to not project the sound through the speakers and the way to fix it is to just keep hitting the silver volume buttons up by your power button on the actual laptop. This may or may not work for you, but I literally just got done with this on a T61 running a fresh installation of XP. The buttons on the lenovo itself control the direct signal input and do a very poor job with integrating with Windows Vista and XP.

Audio devices not working when upgraded to windows 7

Dear Community members and Lenovo...
After uggrading my Lenovo N100 0768 54A from Windows Vista Home premium to Windows 7 Home premium, As some of our friends put up here, audio is not functioning. The mixer shows balancing in sound, the device driver shows, working, but the audio problem is still not resolved even after 3 weeks. I am really fedup with the audio driver installation over three weeks. The drivers tried, are both from lenovo site and realtek site. Still I could not solve the problem.
When upgarded from Win-XP to Windows Vista, realtek was not functioning, through our forum some of our friends suggested to install soundmax driver which was working well then. Now, Audio is the only problem. could Lenovo solve my problem. Some more community members could please help me out.

While trying to help you, I was looking along the same lines as you were (I assume).
I did a search by the IDT 92HD73E audio codec and all I could find were drivers for system boards with Intel processors such as the driver you tried unsuccessfully.
I have finally found a W8.1 driver for that codec from a desktop PC with an AMD processor and chipset.

Audio will not work after a Windows 7 upgrade.

I have recently Installed Windows 7 to my Lenovo 3000 N100 Type- 0768, 6XG. Everything works perfectly accept for the sound. I have tried to install different audio drivers to see if anything works. I have also been on other forums to see if this is a common problem. It seems that some people get their sound working and others don't.
Does anyone know what sound driver I should be using?
Could there be another problem which I don't see?
Is the best bet for me to restore my computer to factory settings!?
Please help me.

have you tried to install drivers manually?
after you locate the .inf file for the driver that you want to install, manually install the new driver. to do this, follow these steps:
- click start, right-click computer, and then click properties.in the tasks pane, click device manager.
- if you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click continue.
- in device manager, locate the device for which you want to install the driver.
note to display hidden devices, click show hidden devices on the view menu.
- right-click the device, and then click update driver software.
- click browse my computer for driver software, click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, and then click have disk.
- in the install from disk dialog box, click browse, locate an .inf file for the device driver that you want to install, and then click open.
- follow the steps in the update driver software devicename dialog box to update the driver

The left panel is working fine, but the right panel with the red sliders is not working. I move the sliders up and down, but nothing happens. Can you please help me fix this?

Hello everyone, Thanks for choosing the HP Forums! If your sound recently stopped working on Windows 8.x or Windows Server 2012, and you suspect a Windows Update is involved, then look no further! This is the troubleshooting guide that will explain how to resolve the issue! Explanation: Currently, there is a Windows update that may be causing the sound on your computer to stop working. The update is KB2962407, and it is now an “Important” update. That means that it will be installed by Windows Update unless you hide it. This thread also covers generic sound troubleshooting that can resolve "no sound" issues. Before tackling the update itself, since a Windows update may not be the culprit, there is some troubleshooting that can be done. A Round of Troubleshooting: 1. Running the Audio Troubleshooting in Windows 8 can resolve the issue. It does contain the ability to eliminate any setting that affects sound. Here are some steps on how to run this troubleshooter: a) Hold down the “Windows” and “R” key and then type “troubleshooting” and hit Enter.b) A window will open. On the left, click “View All”, then “Playing Audio”.c) Click “Advanced” and run it as Administrator. Then click “Next” to complete the process. 2. Try creating a new user account. The changes forced by the update may only affect one user. This HP document shows you how to create a new user under the “Creating a new account in Windows 8” section: Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8) 3. Try a pair of headphones or external speakers. It will rule out where the issue lies if sound does not work through a second or third output device. 4. When they are all stopped, right-click on each one again, and select "Start". As well, make sure each service's status is "Started" and their startup type is "Automatic". Troubleshooting the Update: At this point, unless you want to reinstall the operating system, the only other option is to tackle the update, KB2962407. Please note that the following troubleshooting is ONLY a workaround, for now, and only should be done if the computer has installed this update. First, you can try the Hotfix in this Microsoft document, specifically to address KB2962407: Windows RT, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012 update rollup: June 2014 If that doesn't help, then uninstalling the Windows Update, and then hiding it, is the only method of eliminating the issue if it caused by this update. Here is the procedure for uninstalling the update: 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Programs and Features”.2. Click on “View Installed Updates”. Look for the update with the ID number KB2962407.3. Right-click on the update and select “Uninstall”. Restart the computer. Next, here is the procedure for hiding the update: 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Windows Updates”.2. Click on “Check for Updates”. When the process is completed, is should find important update(s) available. Clicking on the message will open a window where the important update(s) is.3. Right-click on the KB2962407 update and select “Hide Update”. This will prevent the update from being installed next time Windows Updates are being installed. Conclusion:

P6N Diamond X-Fi Xtreme, back audio jack not working after windows reinstall

Hi everyone,
I've been having a problem with audio since reinstalling windows. Previously under windows xp sp3 i had no issues but after the most recent reinstall of windows xp, the rear jacks for the audio aren't working despite the front headphones jack working perfectly fine. Since this was only a short term measure, i didn't bother trying to sort it out until now, when I've now installed windows 7 on the computer and the issue still exists.
I'm using the latest driver available on the msi website http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1168 and I have also tried using the audio driver patch available on the same page.
The fact that there were no problems before a recent windows reinstall and that the issue is mentioned on the driver download page makes me think the problem is with the drivers and not with the hardware.
I searched through the forums and while a fair few people seem to be having the same issue or similar issues with audio jacks not functioning properly, i couldn't find a relevant solution for me.

Yep that sounds exactly like my problem. The issue lies with the on board soundcard and their vista drivers. Creatives' vista drivers are notoriously bad. This coupled with the fact their drivers won't even INSTALL on a p6n board because their drivers do not detect the onboard soundcard adds to the problem. As far as I see it there are two ways to solve this issue:
1.) Buy a front audio panel addition to your case.
I am not sure on your setup but here is one with HD audio support: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813999356
And that will fix your back panel port, and give you the option to use the front as well.
2.) Buy a new soundcard.
This is what I did after learning that the onboard x-fi isn't even a real x-fi card. I opted to buy the X-Fi gamer (cheapest of the X-Fi cards) and so far the drivers have been acceptable in vista. My non-hd front ports work, as well as my back port.
Another alternative would be to wait for MSI to release an update to the creative drivers that they provide. No guarantee on that though.

VN7-791G bluetooth devices not working after Windows 10 upgrade

After upgrading to Windows 10 on my 2 month old Acer VN7-791G, my Logitech bluetooth mouse could not pair, my bluetooth speakers could not pair and neither could by Nexus 7. All these devices were working fine on Win 8.1 earlier. Under Device Manager, only the generic Windows Bluetooth, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and LE Enumerator drivers were showing (dated 21/6/2006). Under Network adapters, the driver showing was the Qualcomm Atheros QCA64x4 ver 10.0.0.62 dated 18/5/2015. I checked that this model is indeed compatible under ACER's website for Windows 10. I have also been checking the ACER drivers for Win 10 for this model but there are no new updated ones for Bluetooth. I downloaded the Win 8.1 ones and installed them but they still would not work (the Microsoft ones are still showing under Device Manager). I had to actually downgrade back to 8.1 a few days ago due to this issue but thought I would try to update to Windows 10 again hoping it would work but still no luck. I had googled but can't seem to find a solution and suspect that I need an updated bluetooth driver for Windows 10 from Acer or Broadcom. The Atheros website do not have any Windows 10 bluetooth drivers as well. I may have to downgrade again and try again in a few months time unless someone could please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Yay! Success at last! Well, I had to resort to drastic measures which I was dreading and delaying. Basically, I rolled back to Windows 8.1 Then Reset PC to Factory Setting. This wiped out all data and applications/programs After getting back to default Windows 8.1, I tried pairing my bluetooth mouse and it worked I then immediately installed Windows 10 (from ISO file downloaded earlier) off a USB stick I chose the option for a clean install (this doesn't load any of the ACER bloatware) Once logging into Windows 10,I went into Device Manager and uninstalled all Bluetooth drivers Then I ran the setup for the Windows 8.1 Atheros bluetooth drivers as suggested - "LITE-ON Bluetooth_M 3rd WiFi 2x2 AC+ BT M.2 QCA NFA344_3.0.0.373_W81x64" I tried pairing my mouse and Nexus 7 and it works!!! For reference, here is my setup under Windows 10 after successfully pairing bluetooth devices. btw, interesting to see that the event log still reports some error about further installation just like earlier - probably indicates that the Win 8.1 Acer drivers are not 100% compatible yet.

Internal Audio does not Work after Update to Lion 10.7.2

I have updated my computer to Lion 10.7.2 and the internal spakers of my monitor do not work anymore. Sytem settings show that sound is off. No chance to switch it on again. Any idea? Kind regards

My internal iSight on my MacBook Pro (mid 2010) is also nog recognized after Lion install.
It does not show up in System Profiler and resetting the SMC does not help.
Anyone can help besides resetting the SMC?

Try system recovery.. I just did it and it worked! You should restore your computer to an earlier time before the sound stopped working.. And you can do that by going to the control panel. GOOD LUCK !!!

Usb audio devices not working

just updated to os x mavericks only to find my Roland fa 101(firewire soundcard) and my Access Virus Ti (usb synth /sound device) (running cubase studio 4 ) are not working ,had a quick read up and as far as I can tell its something todo with CoreAudio2 and class 2 USB sound devices ,I was wondering if apple are planning to fix this issue asap as I need this kit working ,

The recent 10.4.10 update has totally F**D up our alesis interfaces,

USB devices not working after wake from sleep on WinXP!!! HELP PLEASE!

I would like to put my windows xp to sleep whenever I leave the macbook pro for fear of overheating too much when I'm not using it.
The only problem is that I can't use any more USB devices if I plug them in once I wake it from sleep.
Like my mouse for example, I'm using a laser mouse with a usb plugin but it doesn't respond once I try to use it after WinXP on wake....
Experiencing a ton of wake problems lately...
Sleep is important for a MBP....I hope...

Welcome to Windows. Some devices do not like to be put to sleep in Windows.
There could be driver updates or hot fixes from MS to fix these.
A very proven method (though not for battery life) is to instruct the devices not to go to sleep when the system goes to sleep. You can do this via the device manager in the control panel.
Its not a gracious solution but it will do what you want it to do.

Sound not working after checking for driver updates and resetting bios

I am running a (HP Pavilion dv7-6c60us Entertainment Notebook PC)
I had muted the sound and did a system upgrad prompted by my HP assistant after logging on. Now when I try to get sound nothing happens. So I went out to the support site and checked for driver updates and none were found. So I then went into my system bios and reset it as stated in a support for sound not working and still no sound. HOW DO I GET MY SOUND TO WORK AGAIN?

From your models support page Download & Save the latest Audio driver.Go into Control Panel,Programs & Features- Uninstall IDT software.Restart the laptop. After Windows loads, install IDT audio using the downloaded file.
