Yeah i have the 20gb ipod and trying on a mac
well i recently got a macbook pro soooo i was putting all my music onto the new computer and put in the disk for my ipod and tried to install it i get the message saying "ipod installer ..... cannot be installed on this computer. this update requires the mac os x networking update" and i've installed all the updates and im not sure what it is asking or anything so if you could help that be awesome.
to make clear i have the 20 gb ipod before the color photo one so maybe 3rd gen?

I'm having the same problem. Kind of.
I've got either 4th/5th gen ipod. I had the software up-to-date. Now, iTunes 7.0 won't recognize my ipod, and funny enough, the OS won't either (it's as if it does not exist). So, I tried re-installing my old ipod software, and I got the same error message. So, at the moment, I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. My 20 gig ipod isn't being recognized, and I can't reinstall my old software, nor it seems iTunes 6.0, which worked just fine thank you very much!!
Any help so that I can sync my iPod with my iTunes, as well as be able to view it on the desktop would be appreciated (for the record, when I plug it in, it does pop up the symbol not to disconnect, so the computer is "kind-of" recognizing it.

Have you tried resetting it. You do this by holding down the home( white middle button) and the Menu button at the same time. Keep holding until it comes back on. I had the same problem and it worked after holding for about 10 seconds. Also if you need technical help call a local store and talk to the phone rep. They will often give you tips without charging you the $35 that the Apple Phone Service charges you just to help you. Good Luck! Jim -

Are you trying to log in to an Acrobat online service via Adobe Reader? If so, please try logging in via a web browser instead. Go to https://cloud.acrobat.com in a supported web browser (see System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services) using your Adobe ID and password.

Hi - you might be getting full bars but a slow connection - games can be very sensitive to this - have you tried connecting via ethernet to see if it is better? - however if your wireless speed is good too then it could be a ps3 issue and a call to their support might help - otherwise there could be interference issues, radio channel conflicts, etc. - without knowing the specific aspects of your entire network environment it is hard to make any more suggestions.

I have a 20gb iPod that needs music from ITunes. On my new computer I am trying to sync but I get error message "could not copy to iPod because file could not be read or written. Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." I have tried several times and have reset to factory settings.

I have three ipods, none of which are being recognized by my itunes. I have reset each ipod, with no results. I wonder if the problem isn't with the USB ports. The mouse works fine in each port; nothing happens when I plug in the ipods. I have tried two different USB cables. I have no other USB devices with which to test. Make sure your work it folks are ok with the pad. They can tell device type, and some companies simply don't want pads on their mail systems. ( yes, I know....)
There is also usually another password entering the flow, your exchange password, that may be different than your normal password. Give your friendly it guy a call. -

There is no way to update a 3G to iOS 4.3.x using approved Apple procedures (meaning using iTunes), so presumably you used a non-approved procedure to do it. You may now have an iBrick, but you can try to restore it to a supported version using iTunes and DFU mode. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808. If this fails there may still be a way, but you won't find it in this forum. You need to try some iPhone hacking sites.

Yes, that is exactly what it means.
The right way to do it is to first rebuild your library on the new computer, and then sync the iPod.
You can rebuild your library by copying the library from the old computer or from your backup.
If neither of those options is available, you can extract the songs from the iPod, although the process is a bit hairy. See this guide for the procedure, written by Forum member Steve/turingtest2. -

i downloaded apps from the itunes store and tried to sync them to my ipod touch but its not syncing.i even restarted my ipod several times but it doesnt seem to work....i tried to delete and re-install the apps but that too doesnt seem to work... and while syncing,the apps are shown in my ipod and after the ipod is synced the apps disappear... dunno wat to do .................please help........
Do you have Restrictions set that prevent adding the apps? (Settings>General>Restrictions).

If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes. -
