YELLOW BANNER in Adobe Reader 9.3

When trying to use A. Reader with a PDF created in Premiere Pro CS4 the Yellow Security Banner cannot be accessed until after the Instruction Dialogue Box is OKed. Not being able to access the Yellow Banner first prevents any play buttons from appearing when the Instruction Dialogue Box is OKed. The embedded video cannot be played.
In A. Reader 9.2 there is no Yellow Banner and the Dialogue Boxes work as expected and the embedded video can be played.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug when reviewing "Clip Notes" from PrPro CS4?

Please post in the Premiere Pro forum. I've never heard of Premiere (which is for videos) making pdfs, but then I don't use Premiere that much.

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.

  • Canon MP830 + Adobe Reader 8.0 = Yellow backgrounds?

Anytime we print a PDF file via the new Adobe Reader 8 (for Intel Macs), the background--which should be white or at the worst a very very faint gray from it being a converted fax--prints in a bright neon yellow on our Canon MP830.
This is despite the fact that the print preview window in AR8 shows a perfectly normal white b/g.
So far we've only encountered this error in AR8. If I open the same PDF in Preview and print from there, it prints fine.
If you're thinking, "Well, just use Preview and not AR8--problem solved!" I agree with you to a point, but also would prefer to find a solution as opposed to the ostrich method.
I Googled around and found reference to an Adobe print setting called Discolored Background Correction, but this seems to only be available in Acrobat Pro, not Reader. I've also searched the Apple forums and have seen users have similar problems, but with different printer/software combinations.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • How can I get a passage highlighted in yellow in a word document sent to Adobe Reader?

How can I get a passage highlighted in yellow in a word document sent to Adobe Reader?

You can view non-PDF documents, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, in Adobe Reader for iOS.  However, you are not able to add comments or edit non-PDF documents in Adobe Reader.
To open a non-PDF document in other iOS app.
Tap anywhere in a document to display the toolbar in Adobe Reader.
Tap the Share icon on the right side of the toolbar.
Select Open In... from the menu.
Select an appropriate app to open the document.
Alternatively, you can convert a Word/Excel/PowerPoint/RTF document to PDF using the paid subscription service called Adobe PDF Pack and add comments to a resultant PDF document.

  • Can't get Adobe Reader to print statement from Scottrade on-line

I have Vista 64 bit Home Premium , Adobe Reader 9, version 9.3. When online with Windows Internet Explorer at www.scottrade .com, I go to my account, account history, account statements and select January 2010 statement to view and a popup screen which should show my statement, but the screen is blank. This screen usually shows the selected statement in PDF and I can print it out. If I wait a minute or so a popup massage comes up that says: Adobe PDF Document. "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again."  I exit try again and the same thing happens again. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe Reader, restarted the computer and cannot get it to work.  I did not have this problem several weeks ago.

I don't have the printing problem but I do have a very similar situation that I believe is a closely tied to your printing problem.  I think the problem is in the way Internet Explorer or Win 7 processes the Adobe button action/script that calls for it to print or save the displayed PDF.
I have a problem with saving Adobe PDF files from inside Internet Explorer 8.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro, IE 8, Adobe Reader 9.3, and Acrobat 9.3 Pro.  Reader is my IE 8 Add-On.  I can open the PDF file, click on "save a copy" either the icon button or go thru the File menu, but don't ever see the dialogue window that asks where I want to save it to, and of course the PDF file is not saved to my computer.  I click and it just goes null.  I've also tried the CTRL+Shift+S hotkey combo to no avail.
I once saw a dialogue window that popped up that alluded to "going outside the protected mode to save it" and did I want to continue.  I've only seen that message window once and it was for just a split second.
I experimented with Protected Mode.  I can open, read, and save the pdf file if I DISABLE Protected Mode.  ENABLING Protected Mode to come back ON resets and reproduces the problem.
So, thinking it had to do with the Internet Security level, I cranked that setting down to the minimum but kept Protected Mode enabled.  The problem was still there.
The workaround I use (until someone gives me a better fix) to get the "SAVE a copy to my computer or other location" button of the PDF to actually work is to:
Double-click Internet|Protected Mode: On at the bottom of the window or tab displaying the PDF file.  This brings up the Internet Security settings panel.
Uncheck Enable Protected Mode.  You are putting your computer at a bit of a risk... but you aren't going web surfing with Protected Mode turned Off.  Do not leave the site where you turned it off.
Click Apply and OK.  Close your browser window with the PDF and reopen it to the PDF you need to Save.  If you are on a pop-up window or a second tab, you only have to close that one window or tab and reopen it.
You may have to log back on if you are working with an online statement of account.
Your browser should also show that it is "Internet | Protected Mode: Off".  A yellow bar at the top of the page warns you the Protected Mode is turned Off.
Save the PDF as you've been doing all along until our software (Win 7 Pro U/G with IE8) started belching.
After saving, repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 above with rechecking Enable Protected Mode, setting it to On.  Clicking the yellow bar at the top of your browser gets you right back into the security settings panel to reset the mode.
Close your browser and reopen it.  Verify Protected Mode is reset to On.
It's risky to disable the Protected Mode, but if I need to save a copy of a pdf file, such as a statement of an online account, this is the only way I've discovered how to save a copy of it short of printing a hard copy, then scanning the hard copy to a pdf (a digital file) for storing/disseminating it.  My workaround may also work for your printing needs.  Try it once and don't forget to reset the Protected Mode back to On.
It's a nuisance, a real pain in the ol' sphincter, to have to do these steps but until Microsoft and Adobe have a meeting of minds and solve the problem... well, I gotta do what I gotta do.
I've only had Win 7 Pro for about a week. It was working great when I first upgraded from Win XP Pro (clean install) and a day or so ago without any significant changes or alterations on my part it just started acting up.
I posted this in Microsoft's Win 7 Forum as well so maybe one side or the other will fix it.

  • Can't get adobe reader to install on my new laptop with windows 8

I can't get adobe reader to install onto my new laptop with windows 8. Basically what happens is that I start the download from the adobe screen by clicking the yellow download button, then I click run (I've also tried save and run), then I allow the program to make changes to my hard drive, and then finally a blank grey box appears in the in the middle of the screen, titled "adobe reader installer". After this box appears nothing else happens. I've let it sit for at least 30 minutes and still nothing. I've also disabled my pop up blocker, and set the security settings to default as suggested in other posts. Unfortunately this is the only pdf program that works for the site we have to use to write contracts, so I need to get this figured out asap. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

  • Windows 8.1 won't permit the installation of Adobe Reader (install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe)

I am trying to install adobe reader on a PC running windows 8.1. I downloaded the file to install reader, install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe. However, when I try to run the program, and I've also tried "Run As Administrator" as well, it has a sort of OS notification in the form of blue banner most of the entire screen telling me that Windows cannot run the file. Initially Windows indicated the install was being blocked by Microsoft Smartscreen, a Microsoft anti-malware application. I thought de-activating Smartscreen would allow me to proceed with the install but now when I attempt to run it I get the blue banner with the message "This app can't run on your PC To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher." I have also tried deleting the file and downloading a fresh copy of the installation program to no effect. Does anyone know of any possible solutions to get Reader installed on this PC?

    Thank you!
I had the same problem Aaron had but after using this link, it worked.   (although, I still got the message that windows can't run the file because windows smartscreen couldn't do...i don't remember exactly what. But after clicking ''run anyway'' it was fine.

  • Can I get help to install Adobe Reader 11.0.02?

Help, please.  I'm unable to install Adobe Reader 11.0.02 because I'm not knowledgeable about computers and being 85 doesn't help.  I am using an iMac with OS 10.8.2.
I have 2 different yellow boxes on my desktop--Acrobat Reader .XI Installerr.pkg and AcrobatSecUpd1102.pkg (a 3rd yellow box vanished when I took it out of my Dock) as well as mostly white rectangular icons labelled AcrobatSecUpd1102 and AdbeRdr1100 2_en_US, probably because I saved AdbeRdr1100 2_en_US.dmg rather than opening with DiskImageMounter (default).
Also, in my Dock is Installer, a gray icon with a large arrow pointing down.
I did get a message that the installation failed and to contact the software firm.  I already have Adobe Reader 11.0.01 and tried to install 11.0.02 after deleting 11.0.01 from my Dock and again after putting it back in the Dock by getting it from my hard drive.  However, it is paled out when I attempt to choose the Adobe Reader version to replace so I cannot proceed.
Your help will be most appreciated.

Hey, I did succeed in downloading 11.0.02 and will attempt to delete my Question.

  • Print issue with Adobe Reader X

okay, so my problem is this:
when i print this specific document to this printer (HP Color LaserJet CP3525 PS), it will print the banner in the correct purple color.
however, when another fellow employee trys to print it to the SAME printer, with the same settings, it comes out almost a navy blue/indigo color.
i think this may be where the issue is: this is a screenshot of MY print properties under the color tab. the option for "CMYK Color" is not available under his print properties color tab. he has the latest/greatest, just updated it an hour or so ago to make sure that the update was not the issue.
why is this not showing up on his? is there some sort of add-on needed? does something else need to be upgraded?

A non admin will not be able to update Adobe Reader when the UAC turned OFF. This is the intended behavior with the Updater service for Adobe Acrobat/Reader.

  • Comments in Adobe Reader 9

I created a PDF on Acrobat.com, and when I try to open it with Adobe Reader 9, the ability to use Comments is disabled because I wasn't the "creator."
Why are the comments disabled even when there are no security restrictions? The comments are an awesome feature that I'd like to use, but I can't activate them in this one document no matter what I do?
    Any thoughts? Assistance?

I don't believe this issue has anything to do with the appropriate settings being made in Adobe.  We have a similar issue here.  Documents are setup in Adobe with comments allowed and then sent out.  If the person receiving it has a workstation that has only ever had Reader 9 installed they don't get the option of sending comments.  Markups can be done, but never sent as Adobe doesn't look at it as a document that has been joined for review.  On a system with Reader 8, this functionality is all there and the document can have comments added and then sent to other reviewers.  If you go to View>Tracker it will list the document under Reviews>Joined and will actively look for updated comments from other reviewers.  If the workstation is then upgraded to version 9, then it will still work.  Our temporary workaround is to removed 9, install 8 and then upgrade but this is pretty resource intensive past just a couple of users.
The issue appears to be how the reader looks at the comment server, but I haven't seen anyway to change this in the Tracker piece.  Numerous workstations have been tried with numerous builds of Reader 9 and none will work.  You never get the yellow bar across the top with the Deadline, Check for New Comments, Publish Comments and Server Status.  And again, if the workstation has Reader 8 installed and then upgraded it works fine.  Some sort of Common File or registry setting is allowing this between the two versions but I have been unable to locate what it is.

  • Website pdf won't open with Preview - requires Adobe Reader. How do I force iMac to use Adobe for this particular website?

I need to access a tax form from my state's tax website. The site will not allow Mac Preview to open any pdfs on the site. I already have the latest version of Adobe Reader downloaded on my iMac which is using Mac OS X 10.6.8  The state's support guide says to make certain my internet browser (Safari) is set to open all pdfs with Adobe Reader. How do I do this? Thanks in advance for helping.

I think you solved my problem! Upon following your advice, I first got a message that I had not allowed a connection to the Tax dept computers, which would prevent the file I need to fill out from being e-filed. I proceeded to then open the file at the top of which was a security banner at which I chose the site as safe. I then filled in the first line of the form which autofilled other lines telling me I was connected with the tax site. In a few days when I have the data I need, I will actually attempt to file the return. If there is a problem, I will send another message. Thanks so much for your assistance!

  • Safari Adobe Reader Plugin

My Reader plugin is showing Asian characters (possibly Chinese) in its PDF download window (see below) when I attempt to download a PDF document and I can't get it back to where I can see and save the document.
I may have accidentally clicked on the wrong part of the window when the banner to open the download appears with the right facing arrow to bring up the permissions drop-down.
Does anyone know how to reset this back to normal as any attempts to download PDF documents results in this appearing only.
    Regards,
    Wayne

I don't use FireFox, only Safari and Google Chrome and Chrome works ok when executing the same PDF download and viewing from the same web site so I believe it is a Safari problem with its built in Adobe Reader Plug-In.
It had been working ok until yesterday when I was using it and may have fumbled the mouse and perhaps clicked in the wrong area of the Safari page when it was downloading the PDF (the dark shaded page where the security strip with white arrow at right hand end requests one to click if you wish to proceed with the download.) and then after that all I get is what is shown in the screen shot I attached.

  • Adobe reader app on android

    Dear sirs,
As I told previously I'm a regular user of your services and I like the Adobe Reader app on android. It is well rated...4,3... I guess there are some reasons why some other apps have better points. As I'm concerned, I like the Adobe Reader app.
But, as you can see in the attachment, there is no colorchange possible of the sticky note. It's always in yellow, at least when reader is used on a tablet. This is the first thing. The second thing is that the font in the sticky not is not resizeable (see attachment). When making a note or insert a text in the sticky note, it's realy tiny, difficult to read.
What could make a boost on the ratings of Adobe Reader app, is : * possibility when highlighting to add a note, not only that too large sticky note.
    * possibility to resize the font in the note* possibility for horizontal continuous reading for documents
I know that I don't have a chance to be heard but at least I give it a try..... hoping to be heard and read by you.
    Have a nice day.
    Olivier R

    Hi Olivier,
We are certainly hearing you, and appreciate you providing this valuable feedback.
We've made a note of the capabilities you have mentioned, and will add it our product backlog. We will let you know whenever they get prioritized for execution.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot Print PDFs from Adobe Reader

    Hey gang-
Just purchased a new Brother MFC-9420CN color laser printer. Works great- with one exception.
I am unable to print any PDFs with it from Adobe Reader. But note this: The very same PDFs print fine using Preview! I initially discovered this problem using Adobe Reader 7.0.5, so I downloaded and installed the latest Adobe Reader 8.1. No Help. I also reinstalled the latest Brother Drivers- no help.
I then went into Printer Setup Utility and did the Reset Printing System- re-added all Printers- but no help. I am running OS 10.4.9 on a G5 iMac.
I've seen this mentioned elsewhere including here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2643378&#2643378
Thoughts on how to fix this?
    Thanks!
    Dave

When you select print from the menu bar a print
window opens. Verify that the correct printer is
selected. Adobe will over ride some defaults and put
in itself. Let me know if this didn't work.
Thanks Glynn, but the correct printer is indeed selected. This is a weird one!

  • Adobe Reader 9 Colors in PDF print very light

    Hello,
I am having an annoying problem with Adobe Reader 9. I have been printing PDFs from it, but the trouble is that the color accuracy is poor.
The colors on the printed page are much lighter than they should be. I have printed the same PDF from a different version of Adobe Reader, namely version 6. The printed colors are exactly as they should be.
This problem is not related to the different ICC color profiles used by the monitor and the printer since using an older version of Adobe Reader doesnt cause this problem. I have tried setting options such as Let printer determine colors, Print as Image and Discolored background correction. These options have reduced the problem but have made little difference. The difference in color is still very noticeable.
I have also tried printing out some color samples namely Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black blocks of color to test if any are at fault. The yellow comes out as green. This must be where the problem lies. All the other color samples are fine.
Are there any suggestions you could offer to fix or significantly reduce the difference in color? Using the very old Adobe Reader 6.0 is far from ideal.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jim Collins

We have a similar issue with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.x ver. The PDF onscreen colors are totally different than the hard copy. We have tried printing on different models of color printers and there is no issue with the printer drivers. The PDF files are generated from Primavera (P6) application.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanx.
