Yellow Highlights

I am using Captivate 5.  I am recording a software demo.  The program is web based.  When I record my screens there are fields on the screen that are highlighted in yellow.  However when I preview or publish the project the highlights are either missing or distorted.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and how do you fix it.  It is important to see the highlights because these are required fields which are seen on the screen in the slide view but during playback they disappear or are distorted.

Thank you.  That worked!

Hello,
Could you try to change the slide quality from Low to Optimized or High?
You can do this in the Properties panel, or override the slide quality
when publishing and choosing then for High (in Preferences, Project, SWF
Size and Quality deselect 'Retain Slide Quality Settings'.

  • (Yellow) Highlights appear black. How can I fix this?

Today I woke up to find that I can't read the highlighted parts of my PDFs because they suddenly appear black. I have a Mac. Any suggestions as to how to fix it? Many thanks.

Hi Anubha Goel. Thank you for your response.
No, the document was not sent to me, and it happens with all my PDFs.
    MAC OS: 10.6.8
I already tried what you suggested. Still looks black.
Another weird change: when I select a line or two, instead of the selected
part looking blue (as it did before), now it looks black and the letters
    look orange.
    Thank you.
    Regards.

  • Yellow highlights get red posterization

Today I shoot nice spring flowers in a sunny day. When processing photo I fond out that yellow highlights get red posterization in default setting., I put crop from the sample to http://www.pokludovi.eu/Lightroom/red.jpg. This disappears if I set Exposure to -.52 or Recovery to +14. Shoot to raw with Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 5D, original file is at http://www.pokludovi.eu/Lightroom/PICT1463.MRW in case anyone is interested. I searched local forums as well as global Google, no avail.
    Questions
    1. Has anyone seen this?
    2. Is it some kind of out-of-gamut warning?
    3. Any other ideas?

    Ondrej,
This was observed and discusset in at least two threads in this forum. Search
for the "Buggy preview" thread here. It was also discussed, extensively, in the
Flickr Lightroom group. I had an Athlon XP 1700 and had this problem. I now
have a Core2Duo 6300 and no more problem. Let me quote from an earlier post:
"It seems that Alexander Kiel, a member of the Flicker LR Group, has found out
what appears to be causing the problem: older processors (before Intel P4 and
Athlon 64) don't use the SSE2 instruction set. Somehow, the arithmetic of LR's
rendering engine produces "buggy previews" when executed on earlier processors
with the older SSE instruction set. (Precision of floating point arithmetic with
    32 bits versus 64 bits)."
LR requires the SSE2 instruction set in/for the processor, as I understand it.
Would be very interested in knowing which OS/processor you use?

  • When searching a PDF, how do I get search results to  appear as yellow highlights rather than a blue box?

I am using Adobe Reader 11. I am having a problem with searching PDF documents. In the past the search results were highlighted in yellow. Now I occasionally get a large blue box on the left side of the document that covers several lines and it is very difficult to find the word being searched. I am told that this is caused by the program that created the PDF and there is nothing I can do to change process so that all of the search results are shown in yellow highlights. Any suggestions for how to change the search options so that the results are shown in yellow highlights?

As far as I remember that's how Reader always worked, and it's not related to the way the PDF file was created.
Are you sure you were using Reader before?

  • Accidentally removed trusted yellow highlight tool, how do i restore it?

this evening I accidentally removed (i.e., deleted?) my most trusted YELLOW highlight Tool  from PDF toolbar
and cannot find way to restore it. Can someone please provide help to remedy this problem?  Thanx

Thank-you Steve. While this worked (i.e., for yellow highlight text) , it appears the larger overriding issue recently occurred with latest acrobat update i.e., the  entire customized toolbar was lost. screen resolution/font size is larger (i.e., certain key pop-windows are now too large to activate /i.e., hit "enter" and make desired changes). As well other frequently used tools now appear gone (and are inaccessible) i.e., such as  "insert text box"
Is this something that cccurred with latest update or more having to do with my desktop? Hasn't happened before w-previous updates.
    Thanks for all assistance.

  • IDCS3 Mac - Using "All Caps" results in yellow highlighting?

    Hello.
When I attempt to use "All Caps" on a typeface (Trade Gothic Bold #2), any letters which are typed in lowercase (and thus become uppercase when I use the "All Caps" toggle) get a non-printing yellow highlighting behind them?
I've checked and the typeface I'm using isn't corrupt, etc. so I'm unsure why these characters are becoming highlighted?
Does anyone know why this would happen & how to fix/disable?
    Regards,
    Kristin.

Perfect — that did the trick!
Of course, the one option I didn't uncheck (as I didn't even consider it to be a glyph).
    Thanks!

  • TURN OFF justification yellow highlight???

Does anyone know how I turn off the yellow highlighting in  InDesign CS4? It comes on whenever you justify anything. It is really annoying, especially if you have a dark background, makes it impossible to read. There has to be a way to turn this off so it doesn't highlight anymore. It is nice that adobe is constantly adding new things to our cs but could they please add a way to turn this "crap" off so we have a choice whether we want it or not. I have looked for a way to turn this off but I have not had any success besides increasing/descreasing the type width or space but this isn't always convenient to do. I would really appreciate it if anyone had any suggestions how to change this. Thanks for your help! Gratzi!!!!

I think highlighting is a function of the OS. Check your sys prefs and you'll probably see that gold is the highlight color. I may be wrong.

  • Yellow Highlights Behind Text

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to InDesign and I've opened up some files sent to me. Some of the text is highlighted. Can you explain why this might be? What eliminates this?
    Thank you!

    Hey!
InDesign does a bunch of highlighting for different warnings. Here are the main ones:
Pink highlighting means the highlighted font is missing. Very bad.
Amber highlighting means you've got substituted glyphs. That just means that if you typed something and changed the case to small caps, InDesign will substitute a real version of small caps for the formatted one provided your system has it.
There are 3 shades of yellow that indicate hyphenation & justification violations depending on how severe they are.
Also, a bright yellow indicates Keeps violations and Green highlighting means you have weird kerning or tracking.
    Does that help? :-)
Check your preferences under Composition. You can turn off the ones you don't want highlighted. I turn off everything except Substituted Fonts (you definitely want to know when the fonts are missing, but the other stuff is according to your own preferences).
I think there's an article around here somewhere on this (I wrote down those color definitions in my notebook). I'll see if I can find it.

  • Looping yellow highlighted strip

I accidentally hit a button and it created a repeat region at the beginning of my project.  It's a yellow strip at the top and I can't delete it and the play only loops now in that area.  I actually learned about these moveable highlighted regions and worked with them once before on a previous project, but now I can not remember what they are called and I don't remember how to select and deselect them.  I want to get rid of the selected yellow loop region.  Thanks.

  • Why does my MacBook have weird yellow highlighting?

My MacBook 10.5.8 has weird yellowe shading and highlighting. The top menu bar is scrambled unless I move the mouse to the top left corner of the screen.
Also when I open Mozilla Firefox the screen freezes up until I force quit.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro-how do I search 1000's of pdf's & yellow highlight all occurrences of 12 words/phrases

my computer: windows xp pro svc pack 3, dual processor, 2 gig ram
software: Adobe Acrobat8 Pro. Problem: I have 8,000 1-2 page pdf's in (1) directory, that are all located within 5,000 sub-directories. All were converted by Acrobat fm *.txt docs in the same directories, so all are ocr text searchable, but the time to search all docs and manually highlight each (frequent) occurrence in thousands of docs, then repeat the process for the next 11 words/phrases will take forever.
If anyone knows how to batch process search for multiple words/phrases AND have Acrobat automatically highlight and index each occurrence, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated.
    desones

Hi David, I've developed a script that does this (well, it does it for a single document, but can easily be used for multiple ones using a batch process, and the dialog boxes can be replaced with a pre-defined piece of text).
See here for some more info: http://try67.blogspot.com/2008/11/acrobat-highlight-all-instances-of.html
and contact me by email to discuss it further.

  • Slow performance with yellow highlight tool

    Hello everyone,
My problem is that Acrobat gets extremely slow when using the highlight tool
I have made a pdf fromthe web of 350 pages and is about 6.5 MB big
Now I have already higlighted major parts of the text for about 100 pages
and now Acrobat gets extremely slowwhen using the highlight tool When I want to highlight asentence it takes sometimes more than 6 seconds to transform it into highlighted text. I have already optimised my document but without results.
Why isn't there a possibility to tweak the performance of Acrobat in the preferences section?
Can anybody help me with this problem?

I have a Windows XP with more than one Gig of RAM
On my wain HDD there is still 17 Gig free space.
Only Firefox with many tabs open.
I have also tried FreeRam XP to free my ram. That did a great job ,butt I still have problems sometimes with highlight tool.

  • How to remove highlighted yellow text

Using FM10 (TCS 3.5), I have sent a manual for revision and the corrector has highlighted in yellow some parts of the text using the Adobe Reader. I have imported this PDF-for-revision to FM and the same yellow highlighted parts have been imported inside my documents. How to remove these highlighted parts ?
    Nicolas

    Nic,
In the Status Bar, the "(FM_PDF_Comments_Highlight)" entry means that a condition tag has been applied to the text. Sorry, my bad. I forgot about the way things were marked up when they come back from PDFs.
Condition indicators (i.e. the colours) can be turned off by toggling the the Special > Condtional Text > Show Condition Indicator option.
Alternatively, you can delete the condition indicators if you don't need them anymore or change the colour assignments of the condition tag(s).

  • Insert highlight only yellow?

How can I change the highlight color from yellow to other colors
    Thanks

The highlight color of which you speak is the author color, and is controlled through the View > Comments and Changes > Author Color sub-menu. It is not the true highlight color that other word processing applications provide that places a persistent color background behind text. The so-called highlight/author color does not survive document export, or printing. Apple has confused a great many users with their non-standard terminology.
If you want to accentuate text as though by a physical yellow highlighter, then you need the Character Fill Color from the Advanced Options sub-menu. This is the last (gear) drop-down that is adjacent to the font colorwell on the Text side-panel. This text background color is persistent with document export, or print.
