Yellow Spots on iPhone 5 screen

Hi everyone.
As you can see from the picture, there's a faint yellow spots on the iPhone screen. The phone was purchased in December but the spots didn't appear until yesterday. I've resetted the phone using iTunes and basically ruled out this is a software issue.
I know I need to have the phone serviced if I want it fixed. But the problem is I purchased the phone from the Apple Store in Hongkong and I''m currently in the Philippines. I don't know someone currently in Hongkong to send my phone to. I just wanna ask if someone had the same experience and what they did to fix their phone. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

you havent gotten a answer ;-; well your having a very very mini kernel panic thats all

  • Dim Spot on iPhone's screen

    Hello everyone,
I have an iPhone 3G 8GB which I bought 6 months ago from Cyprus. After 3 months of using it, a dark dim spot appeared in the middle of my screen. No, it's not a dead pixel, I did a deep research for it. Anyway, I sent it back to them in Cyprus so they can fix it, they kept it 2 weeks and then they gave it to me back without even opening it and see the problem. After many hours there I pushed them to send it to Apple. They sent it to Greece as they told me where there is an Apple Store. After they sent it back again, they gave me a paper which they wrote on it "The dim spot as our customer said, doesn't make any problem to the phone of using it etc." By the way, you can see the dim spot very clear on gray color and dark colors but not on black. At the end.. I'm here now without any support from Apple.
Please help me solve my problem.
    Regards,
    Jim.

What's really weird is that when I first got home with my new iPhone on 6/29, I too noticed a yellow spot on the bottom left of my screen...obviously more noticeable on a white background. I was ready to take it back...but then after using the phone for the first day...the yellow spot went away. All of a sudden the yesterday 7/29...4 weeks later, a yellow spot appeared in the same exact spot...and by the end of the day it was gone again! (insert Twilight Zone theme here) Hmmmm...wonder if this will occur again on 8/29...haha!
Wait and see if yours disappears...and if it doesn't, I'd exchange it.

  • Display trouble (yellow spot) on iPhone 4

    Dear Customer Service,
I have an issue considering my iPhone 4. It was bought 2 years ago, in 2011. Approximately 4 months ago I spotted a yellow mark in the bottom left corner of the screen. The yellow mark gets brighter when the iPhone works at full capacity (for example, when I use 3G Internet via Wi-Fi access point). It looks this way:
Is it possible to solve this problem anyhow?
    Best regards,
    Alexander

It is just a screeen spot or internal screen spot.If it's normal screen spot then clean it with water. and if it is internal screen spot then there is no way to repair wwithout going to repair.
also try to Restore it to newer version(IF IT's WORK)

  • Brown Spots on Iphone 4 Screen

I have recently observed some brown spots on my iphone screen. I have searched on the internet what is the cause and I found out that Iphone 4S has some what similar problem and it has something to do with some adhesive that they use. But my Iphone 4 is now older that 1 year and it is not covered under warranty. The phone was in perfect condition and no other wear/tear or any sort of damage. I was wondering whether is there anything that apple could do to rectify this problem? And how much would it cost to repair such an issue. In addition, I would be really greatful if someone could tell me whether is it a digitizer fault or the LCD display fault?
    Thanks a lot
    Best Regards
    Devinda

An out of warranty exchange is $149

  • Light spot on iphone 6 screen

    Hello Friends,
I just got my new iphone 6 from ATT. After setting it up i found there is a white light (spot) which is brighter than the rest of the display. This light is visible on all light colors and not on dark colors. Let me know if this needs to be exchanged from Apple.
    Regards,
    Sathish.

Left end of screen. The light is pretty bright. For me it show up all the times under white and any light color background.

  • Strange spot on iPhone 5s screen

Such spot appeared out of the blue. I tried rebooting iPhone but problem still persists. After 3h in turned off state spot seems to shrink, but i still want to know what causes it and is it dangerous to use my phone?

Looks like a pixel issue - hardware problem - probably not dangerous but I would take it to an Apple store if there is one within reach

  • Weird problem with my iPhone 4 screen

    Hi Guys,
I can't seem to wipe away smudges on my iPhone screen no matter what I use. My old 3GS was easy, use a cloth or damp one and done. Problem with the my iPhone 4 is it just smudges more and more even when using water, different types of cloths and so forth. It's starting to bug me now cause in the sun light it looks terrible. Before anyone says wash my hands, I always do
Anyways else have this problem or a solution?
    Thanks
    G

I have had every iphone model ever made. I have never had a problem like this before. It appears that there are small spots all over the screen. Not to be confused with the "yellow spots" other iphone 4 user have been reporting due to the glue not drying before they reached the customer. This is a different type of spot. I would compare it to a petrie dish that scientist test for things in.
The only thing I can think of is something is happening with the coating over the glass (oleophobic coating maybe braking down?). It only happened on the front screen and not the back glass. You can get the spots to go away when you use a micro fiber cloth to remove the natural oil from your face against the phone. The minute you start using the phone again, they appear. They are kinda annoying and make your phone screen look dirty and have a weird glare in it when your in the sun.
I made an appointment tomorrow to go to the apple store to see what they can tell me. Hope fully its nothing major. The worst thing that could happen is the phone gets replaces by another. Ill keep everyone update.

  • Another iPad2 "light leak" "backlight bleeding" "yellowing spots" thread!

I bought the iPad 2, White, 64g WIFI-only, at a Target. As soon as I turned it on, I immediately noticed a yellowish bleeding light from the edge of the display on the bottom right.
Today, I went to an Apple store and showed it to a Genius, who was "shocked" to see it when he took is to a dark room in the back and replaced it with an unopened one.
So I took it home, and guess what happened next? It was WORSE! It had light leaks, backlight bleeding, and yellow spots all over the screen! I drove back to the Apple store and found my Genius who was surprised to see me. He immediately took it the back room and confirmed the issue, yet again. So he gave me a new one.
Guess what happened next. Yup, same problem, not as bad as the 2nd one, about the same as the 1st one I bought from Target. So I went back to the Apple store, and couldn't find my original Genius. A guy called "Scotty" told me that they "ran out" and that I would have to call back on Monday and can "...reserve one if they receive a shipment, because it's an exchange."
I wonder if it's a "white iPad" issue. Some folks online with a black iPad seem to be reporting an issue.
This is quite annoying and cannot wait to get a replacement. I was at the Apple store for 3 hours today. Blah!

I am now on my 4th iPad returned and exchanged.
This time I asked for a black one to replace my white one - which I justified as "maybe this is a white issue, not a black issue, as some people report." That seemed to convince them.
So now I have a black one, which is the color I actually originally wanted anyway. My brother, who is thousands of miles away, told me his black iPad has no leaking whatsoever, which made me think I should try to the black as well.
Guess what, the Black is ALSO affected. No change. I'm tired of going to Apple store at this point. I'll just wait for a few months and exchange this stupid thing. I cant really say I didn't try. And I can't really say Apple Genius guys didn't try either.

  • IPhone 4S yellow spot or fading mark on screen

My iPhone 4S screen suddenly has a yellow spot or fading area. What can be done to resolve it?

Did check with Apple service centre few days ago..they confirmed it is a hardware fault as the phone becomes really hot when being put on charging and simultaneously use. During this time the yellow spot also becomes more bright.

  • I want to learn how many iphone had yellow spot issue on screen?? is it a chronical issue?

i have a iphone i got it from vodafone Turkey n it has yellow spot on screen. teleservice doesnt solve my problem in warranty. but at lots of forum sites; you can see it is a chronical problem iphone

You mention having one LG G2, but two lines?  What type phone is on the second line?  Assuming it's also a smartphone, the ETF is $350 minus $10 for each full month of your contract term that you've completed ... and that's per phone since each phone has its own contract.

  • Yellow Spot on my iPhone 5 Screen

Hi I know the iPhone 4 had a major problem with Yellow spots and streaks on the screen, well I have one on my iPhone 5. I've had the phone for around a month now, I didn't notice the yellow streak which is on the top right side, untill the phone got really hot one day when using it for a long time on 3G. I't fades when the phone gets colder. for the iPhone 4 issue the solution was that it was because of the glue they used on the phone not drying out, and to leave it and it will go away...well after a month it hasn't gone away. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm about to call my providor and see if I can get a replacement before it's too late.

I, too, have the same problem.
Worse still... this phone is a replacement for my iPhone 4 which had a growing, yellow spot along the same, right-side edge. That phone (the 4) got so bad that it turned purple toward the outter edges of the yellow spot - about the size of my thumb and began losing touch-sensitivity.
This new replacement is developing the problem sooner, though. I'm concerned that if it follows suit from the previous phone - it'll become unusable while I'm still in my 2 year AT&T contract.
I'll have to see, very soon, if there's any solution to be found in my remaining Apple Care time. I was assured the 5 couldn't suffer the same fate but, then again, I could barely get the Apple lad to acknowledge this was even a known issue... despite the forums being replete with instances of it, the major tech-blogs reporting it, etc.
It gets markedly worse when running for a few minutes (ie. surfing, reading Flipboard, etc.). About five minutes of the screen being on it shows fairly visible yellow. Several minutes and it becomes obvious even when viewing a yellow-page in Notes-app.
I'm concerned even for a replacement of the replacement. I hope my luck grants me a little something this time around. I love the 5 too much but if I need to go non-Apple to survive with a working phone - then so be it.

  • Recording a video for 10 minutes iOS 7.0.6 = overheating = yellow spot on the screen :(

    Hello,
last night i was trying to record a video using the rear camera of my iPhone 4S, the phone started to get very hot after minute 5 and then i started to notice yellow spot on the right corner of the screen. I got scared and stoped the video before reaching 10 minutes of video recording (the phone itself says nothing about overheating).
I got the phone into my refrigerator untill the heat gone and then i looked for the yellow spot, fortunately it is gone and the screen was as good as before.
currently i'm on iOS 7.0.6 (clean restore with new setup) and now i can't use my camera without risking my screen
I read somewhere that this likely to be a battery issue, and somewhere else that it maybe caused by a software bug. how can i make sure ?!!

EDIT: I would suggest that you turn off some settings, like background app refreshing, turn on the "reduce movement" setting, you know, stuff that you might do to save battery life. This makes it so that the processor doesn't have to work as hard, because the iPhone 4's processor can barely handle iOS 7, while iPhone 5+ is made to run it. If you want to go a bit more in-depth, maybe figure out what component was under where the yellow spot was, and see what problems may have happened.
