Yep. I have the same problem as all of you! Mini not recognized!

My Mini was working fine, then it stopped showing up in Windows or iTunes. I have reset it numerous times, put it into disk mode, tried the Windows disk management, etc. The iPod updater will not work of course, since Windows does not even know the Mini is plugged in.
The really odd thing is that the Mini stopped holding a charge, so I figured it was the usual battery problem. I have replaced the battery, and the charge seems to be holding now. If I plug the Mini into a USB port (I have tried all of the USB ports on 2 different PCs), and resetting it, the battery appears to be charging from USB, but it is still not recognized. The screen's light comes on when it is plugged in/unplugged, but I get nothing from Windows.
I see many people having this problem. Could this be an Apple bug from the last update? This has happened with a few of my Apple products before, after updates are applied.

it will appear in Updater, but then fails after 5

I think my battery issue was seperate from the update issue. Although, I am not sure if the iPod's software has anything to do with it's ability to recharge. In my case, the iPod would not charge, even if I connected it to the wall outlet, and bypassed the PC completely. The second I tried to play a song, the iPod would die, no matter how long I charged it for.
I would have not gotten a new battery if I had read all of these posts first, but I probably needed one anyways.
Anyhoo, I have not seen fix for this yet. I am assuming we will need to wait until Apple gets their act together...great.

Happy Holidays, all. I was just hoping that someone had come up with a fix to the problem with iTouch and Windows Vista Premium (64bit). All I get is a picture of the plug pointing to the iTunes image on my iTouch, can't even see the regular icons yet. The device is not picked up by iTunes, either. Tried reinstalling iTunes, the whole bit. Thought I'd try one more time to get a fix before returning the product. By the way, if you ever finally do get through to Apple Tech Support, they'll act like they have never heard of the problem (at least the guy I spoke with did. He wasn't very nice or very helpful). I have I think the same issue. iTunes can see a Nano but not an iTouch. Vista see the device when I plug it in, but no luch with iTunes. I ended up using a old laptop with XP which is slow and out of hard drive space, so I need a fix.

I have the same problem as all sorts of people with "HDCP" issue for playback.

What is APPLE saying about this massive issue, I'm ready to completely switch to another product and super frustrated. I've tried the "quick" solutions with no help.

Try to open up a website for work and after several minutes of "loading" the page is blank and says done. Have tried with IE, Oprah, and Chrome and all have the same problem

The website is a login for work so I can print off the sheets I need for my job. I can get the site to work during the day but in the evening, it doesn't matter what I do, what browser I use, it always loads a blank page. I have scanned for Trojans, disabled java, turned off the security settings, and nothing works. I have even tried accessing the page through the home page only to have the same problem.

I would recommend you contact the web administrator for the site. He/she would likely be of far better assistance; this is clearly a problem specific to the website, not Firefox.

Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.

I am converting my iWeb site to Rapidweaver, whenever there is a calmer period in my office. I have 16 Gb RAM on my NEW iMac and have Parallels desktop, mail, safari, iWeb and Rapidweaver running simultanious.
I never have the problem if i don't use Rapidweaver, but after i have added several pages to Rapidweaver, the problem begins. my iMac won't start up. the only thing that works is re-installing Macos OS X 10.8. i tried even whiping the completeharddrive, and reinstalling with a complete new user, the same problem.
I had it on my previous iMac also, and bought a new one because i thought the problem was in the iMac first. i hadn't noticed it only happens with using rapidweaver.
i sent my complete rapidweaver project to the programmers from rapidweaver at Realmacsoftware, but they couldnt reproduce my problem, there macs started up without any problem.
i deleted all the rapidweaver addons and extra stacks, and started a complete new project.
saterday i had the problem again, after adding about 5 new pages to my rapidweaver site.
i think i have reinstalled Macos OS X 10.8.2 20 or 30 times by now

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.

Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off and on, Reset by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so, Restore.

If you have sound when using the earbuds, another thing to try is insert the earbuds and start playing a song - making sure the sound can be heard with the earbuds. Without pausing the song, remove the earbuds.
If no sound is available with the speaker and a the troubleshooting steps do not resolve it or one of the steps does resolve it but the same occurs again, time to give AppleCare a call (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Please do 2-3 SMC and PRAM resets back to back and retest. Also use new cables, they can go bad.

When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment and displays the Mozilla Crash Reporter. Are you seeing that, or is Firefox just freezing and you're killing it?
Assuming you have crashes, you can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the support article "[[Firefox Crashes]]" (especially the last section) for steps to get those crash report IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.
If that's not possible, have you tried Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).

(Clearly i'm not alone in this problem, although i think i figured out what's going wrong a little more than he did...read on!)
his solution, to put mainstage in jump mode, is very unsatisfactory to me, as it bounces all of a sudden to drastically different settings.
basically, my analysis is that my controller is NOT receiving MIDI date from mainstage. in other words, mainstage knows what my controller is doing, but my controller doens't know what mainstage is doing.
let's say i turn the knob all the way to the right ... 127...and the virtual fader goes to the right like it's supposed to.
now...next...let's say i change to a different patch, where that same VIRTUAL fader is not at the max clockwise position..maybe it's only at 1pm. now when i turn the physical knob to the RIGHT, the midi data is still at 127 on the controller! it didn't "reset" to sync up with the new level (say 80 or so) setting on the new patch. so i can't increase that new setting of 80 by continuing to turn the knob to the right. i have to turn it all the way to zero,...and then continue PAST zero until the controller thinks that IT is at 0...at that point the controller and mainstage are in agreement, and things work fine....so bascially, the keyboard thinks the level is at max...but mainstage thinks the level is at 1pm.
i am using Logic 9, and i have a macbook pro 2.9 Ghz I7 with 8 gigs of memory and OS X 10.8.4

Autorun only shows the Apple Bonjour service. It started when try to sync more than one iphone over WiFi. I have two iphones and an iPad. I turned off syncing over WiFi and still has high CPU utilization. One of the CPU's is pegged at 100%. It is the AppleMobileDeviceService.exe process.

For the record, I then followed the suggestion of MarcDCMB in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4291206 of just manually restarting the Apple Mobile Device service in Windows services.msc once each time after starting iTunes and the service no longer hogs CPU after that service restart. Not too painful as a work-around, and apparently an effective one, but clearly not a solution to the problem. Again, as above, all the other solutions didn't work for me and I have no conflicting software as far as I can tell. So you'd have to say this Apple's problem.
Also FTR, I am still on the 5.2.0.6 version of the Apple Mobile Device Support MSI and I don't know if that is relevant to this work-around working but my sense is that it is NOT relevant. I'll report back on this thread if I re-upgrade and the problem returns in spite of the service-restart approach.
