Yes this this true ! Dont let anyobody lie to you ...

How to know that your mobile is original or not ?????
Press the following on your mobile *#06# and the-international mobile equipment identity number appears. Then check the 7th and 8th numbers:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7th 8th 9 10 11 12 13 14 15
Phone serial no. x x x x x x ? ? x x x x x x x
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 02 or 20 this means your cell phone was assembled in Emirates which is very Bad quality
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 08 or 80 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Germany which is fair quality
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 01 or 10 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Finland which is very Good
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 00 this means your cell phone was manufactured in original factory which is the best Mobile Quality
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 13 this means your cell phone was assembled in Azerbaijan which is very Bad quality and also dangerous for your health

The location of manufacture is not encoded into the IMEI number, Nokia doesn't even create the numbers - they receive them from an external industry regulatory body. The details for all IMEIs since 1st Jan 2004 are as follows:
The first two digits (theoretically) represent the national association which issued the number, though in practice the worldwide GSM Association now issues all IMEIs. The first two digits '35' (theoretically) indicate the British Approvals Board of Telecommunications, though all IMEIs in the world currently begin 35...
The next six digits represent the device type (640602 is a Nokia N96, 808201 is a Nokia N82; 908801 is a Sony Ericsson K800i etc.)
The next six digits are the individual device's unique serial number
The final digit is a check-digit.

We've released a new social pictures website. You can disuss images on there or submit your own images for inclusion. We're currently driving a lot of traffic to the site and getting feedback. Keep in mind the interface is still pretty basic while we figure out what direction to take this.
Review please and provide input if you can.

    Thanks!

Keep in mind that when it comes to reproducing music, size matters. Tiny little plug-in pairs of speakers like these are more novelties than practical solutions for headphones-free listening because they can't move much air, which is necessary to reproduce lower frequencies at useful sound levels. Basically, they are a pair of low power tweeters & that's just about what they will sound like.
I have a pair of the fold-out speakers pictured in one of the URL's -- they use roughly 2" drivers, each in an enclosure tuned to augment the lower frequencies, & have their own power amps, requiring either USB or separate batteries to power. When folded up, the package is about the size of a small grapefruit -- much larger than either the plug-in speakers or the iPod. Even so, the sound they produce would never be mistaken for rich, full range audio.

  • LG TVs. Dont let the gimmicks fool you.

Ok. I bought a 47 LM7600 @ best buy on sale for $1600, which isnt pretty pricey for a 47 incher even if its a 2012 model. Anyway I coughed up the dough and took the TV home. I unboxed and hooked up the TV pretty simple.
    Man was I suckered.
The TV has the lamest remote EVER. Magic motion remote? Are you kidding me? You have to re-alighn the remote EVERY 30 seconds and if your using at even the slightest angle, the magic cursor is off the mark. I tried to use the browser and tried to type in http://www.gmail.com and it took me over 10 min. Very crappy remote.
The TV was even worse. Im not sure what type of settings best buy had but the "factory demo" looked decent so i got the darn tv. When i brought it home and tried out the 3d depth control, it made me so darn dizzy i nearly threw up after 10 seconds of watching.  The screen was also too darn glossy when the TV was on and off. I couldnt believe it. But then again, the smart TV is just toooo slow. It took over 30 seconds for the youtube app to load, and once the app loaded the videos took even longer so i couldnt watch a single darn video and i know im sounded really mad right now which is becuase i got back from best buy like 15 min ago.  I returned the darn TV and now ima get that samsung es one i forget the name.

I also agree with Slim. I don't really feel for smart features in TVs.. All brands I've encountered with so far have flaws so I think it'd be pretty much the same even if you decide to go with Samsung. As for the remote, you can't please everybody. You should just take some time and get used to the remote. Re-aligning the remote is really not much hassle and it's much faster to type with it than the standard button remotes. and I don't understand how the 3D depth control made you nearly throw up.. Just adjust it to the setting that makes you not throw up.

If you have a Nike+ sensor in your shoe then you would use it to track you run.
Otherwise, you would do nothing with it.

    Command-Option-Escape does the same as
    Apple Menu > Force Quit...
It opens a floating box that lists current major Applications and their status (e.g., Not responding) and allows you to force quit any single Application or re-launch the Finder.

No, Apple does not. What other companies might provide what you're looking for I don't know. Try searching the web for "karaoke software" or something similar.

  • HT1557 OS X 10.5.8 (which is an OS X version also no longer being updated by Apple). Is this true? if yes, why is that?

I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 instslled on my my iMac and I've got this message using chrome...
Chrome no longer supports Mac OS X 10.5
Google Chrome on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) will stop receiving any updates following Chrome 21. This includes new features, security fixes and stability updates. If you’re not sure what OS version you’re on, go to the Apple icon on the top left corner and click About This Mac to find out. If you already have Chrome installed, you can still use Chrome, but it will no longer be auto-updated. In addition, you’ll be unable to install Chrome on any Mac still running 10.5 (which is an OS X version also no longer being updated by Apple). While we understand this is an inconvenience, we are making this change to ensure we can continue to deliver a safe, secure, and stable Chrome for the most Mac users possible.

My brother finally realized his 2006 iMac was no longer supported and that security updates are more important than ever.  There was one patch to help with the recent flash-based <?> malware for those systems running 10.5.8
Lion though allows you, if you buy Parallels 7 and have Snow Leopard (there is a $69 flash memory OS with both from Apple) you can run 10.6.8 as a guest OS VM under Lion - if you have the resources to do so to run "reasonably" well.
Seeing how the iMac has not been updated for many many months and due for a refresh, and there is Mountain Lion on the near horizon -
In the meantime, the latest Chrome did include a lot of security patches (scares me that we think we are safe and secure and they are open about it, but not sure if my trust is warranted). FF 13.x still supporting you?
Is your Mac eligible for 10.8? then of course maybe time to get ready -Lion dropped Rosetta and therefore support for older PowerPC code base. So you might have some housecleaning and updates that are needed.

  • TS1474 I have a friend who is moving to Australia she has been told that if she plugs her ipod into a computer over there she will lose everything on it. Is this true.

I am moving to Australia to live. Can I resync my ipod with itunes on a computer over there without losing everything.

Wait, is this for a friend of for you?  And yes, that is true. Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devicestab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    iOS: How to back up
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software available to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

If you do happen to lose any purchased content, you can always redownload it from the iTunes Store again at no cost via iCloud.  See this article for information.

  • I have just bought my first mac and have been told that i can get a free upgrade to lion but it seems that this is only an option in the us and canada, not the uk. is this true?

i have just bought my first mac and have been told in pc world that i can get a free upgrade to lion, but it would appear that this is only for those in the u.s. and canada. is this true? also from reading the discussions it seems that lion is not a good thing. i am already regretting my decision to go to a mac.

I have found that both Linux and Mac (unix) are capable of reading "deep" folders while win 32 will have issues, your it people are clearly wrong.  I run a network with both win/mac. And as long as the win servers/pc's that have shares are set to allow apple file sharing in their folder properties.   And the macs are set to allow smb there should absolutely no trouble with you accessing anything across the platforms, heck, from a Mac to a win pc on some occasions you don't even need to include a "domain" name to log on to, and you can create aliases and make your own shortcuts etc... So you don't have to manually connect each time you boot up etc... But that's all personal preferences I suppose.
All I can tell you is that, I do it on a daily basis managing a small business. So your answer is yes you can.

  • Is this true or not? Should this be a concern

Okay so i have been hearing things about an app called Angela. People are saying that the app was created by a adult that talks to kids. Many are saying that the app can locate where you are and take pictures of you without your athorization. Is this true?

It's a harmless app and the victim of a Facebook hoax. Google Angela for the full story. If you still worry about it don't download it and don't let your kids play with it.

  • I have a Mac book operating on Version 10.5.8 this won't let me down load version 10.7 itunes. Is it possible possible to down load a new operating systen to my Mac it has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor

i have a Mac book operating on Version 10.5.8 this won't let me down load version 10.7 itunes. Is it possible possible to down load a new operating systen to my Mac it has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor & 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 2SDRAM of Memory.

Hi Andy, yes it's a paid Upgrade...
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

It's been pulled from the online store & Apple Stores, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard.

Yes, that is the Tetheringn or HotSpot option.  Some models have this.  You will have to set up your phone to do this, and your carrier will likely charge you an extra fee for the tethering service.

  • I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008) and am currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I would like to know which is the most stable upgrade for my model. I have read some reviews of Maverick and Yosemite making the older macs slower. Is this true?

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008), Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz, 4GB Memory. and am currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I would like to know which is the most stable upgrade for my model? Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite?
When I had gone to the apple care centre in India a few months ago to upgrade my OSX to Mountain Lion, I was told that considering my macbook pro's specs, upgrading it would just make it less efficient, and that I should stick to Snow Leopard unless I consider buying a newer mac that would benefit from it. Is this true? I find it a bit hard to believe. Which update is most recommended?
I also notice that my mac has gotten considerably slower. While using chrome, it buffers and struggles with even just 5 tabs open. Could this have something to do with my current ios? As a precaution, I have always been making sure I have enough free space on disk i.e around 70 - 100 free out of 250GB.
    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Mavericks is no longer available from the App Store, so your choice is Yosemite. One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won't have to go though the revert process.
