Yesterday I bought Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5) but I think I paid more than usual.

I have a MacBook White 2009 which I bought two years ago and it had Snow Leopard. In the last months it had been slow and the start up took a lot of time. I erased every document and every application I had downloaded. It had a memory of 2GB and last week I bought and installed two cards of 4GB so the computer had 8GB of memory. It started working perfectly but yesterday when I turned it on it remained in the start up display for more than thirty minutes so I turned it off and went to an Apple shop. I live in Colombia, and Apple shops here are not directly from Apple. The guy that I was attended by, recommended me to install the 'latest' operating system. Now, I knew that the new operating system was Mountain Lion but in the moment he installed it, I didn't see what he was doing and he actually installed OS X Lion. I realized when I got home but the worst thing is that I paid about 60 USDollars, and I saw that in the MacAppStore OS X Mountain Lion only costs 20 USDollars. What can I do? Well as you said the Apple Store in your country are not connected to Apple your only recourse is with the shop from which you bought it. Did they actually charge you $60 for he software or is it possible they charged you labor for the technician to look at your MacBook?

Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Disable anti virus software.
Make sure your Mac meets Mountain Lion requirements > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

I've recently messed up my Mac OS X Lion by deleting Aperture, but I need to get my data out of the computer. I've tried to repair it using DU, but it said I needed to backup all my data and reinstall the OS. How do I backup my data to an external drive?
And by the way, I've got an important project in Final Cut Pro X. Is there any way I can back it up (including fxs and positions of the clip) ?

You need to back up 2 folders, Final Cut Events and Final Cut Projects which by default are located on your Movies Folder. You can always check by clicking on a clip inside Fianl Cut X and selecting Show in Finder in the contextual menu for the selected clip.

You can install CS5 directly on your computer. You will be asked to enter an eligible serial number during the installation process. This is when you will want to enter the CS2 serial number.

Got the "apple firewire ntsc" choice to show up even if grayed out and "missing" under "audio/visual" menus by recreating choices in Easy Setup under "final cut pro" MENU thank GOODNESS because I was reading horror stories on here about this under another thread with someone trashing preferences, reinstalling and the works and still not getting it to show up...on my search now for an analog/digital converter up at b&h...find it odd that the s video connector wouldn't show the crt monitor when I put both displays through the 3870...I switched it back to see if it worked again when only the one dell monitor display was there and there it is again mirroring the screen display on my desktop...just can't be seen as an "external monitor" in fcp...couldn't find anything specific in the shane ross threads to this. I'm sad the program doesn't just see the s video connection though the 3870 though my computer does fine and will query up at b&h in regard to what might be affordable as far as a digital/analog converter. It's also weird in itself that when I put the two dell monitors on the one card my computer no longer could see the s video crt connection...makes no sense. Will report in later as to what I discover up at b&h as I'm sure there's a world of people out there using this sony crt monitor still even into the upgrades with computers and software so I imagine therein lies the solution. Thanks again and I'll report in as to what hardware might be suggested for me.

I'm running Lion fine on my 2008 MBP (4,1. 2.4GHz C2D, 4GB) and late 2009 Mini (2.0GHz C2D, 8GB.) Minimum RAM for Lion is 2GB, but IMHO you really want 4GB. If you have a lot of apps open (or have demanding apps like Photoshop,) then get more RAM if you machine can handle it.
Also, make sure the rest of your apps or drivers are up to date before upgrading. Incompatible drivers for things like printers and such are what I've found to cause a lot of stability problems.

Can someone PLEASE help me?? I tried to 'gift an album' yesterday for my friend. For some reason, he couldn't redeem the code iTunes gave him, so I sent it once more...and then another time. Finally, the 3rd time worked, and he now has access to the album I bought for him. But I do not want to pay 3 times!! How do I fix this? Did you actually gift the album multiple times; i.e. you clicked the "gift this album" multiple times? What does your purchase history for your account say? If it shows that you did inadvertently gift the album multiple times and were charged more than once, contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them.

I bought my Photoshop Extended (PC) last year in the US. I have been using it for a bit more than a year. Today, opening Photoshop, Adobe asks me to pay or enter my serial number. So I enter the number (again), and it says that the number is invalid.
My version is an official version, I paid for it.

This operating system had just been installed on my Mac Pro and ever since, it had caused my desktop to take more than 40minutes to start up

This is a support forum so you are certain to see people here who have had problems upgrading RAM. However, that shouldn't stop you. You definitely need more RAM. What kind of MacBook do you have? Run Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info. What does it say under Hardware > Model Identifier.
If your machine is MacBook 3,1 or later, you can support 4 GB RAM. If not, you will be limited to 2 GB or 3 GB, depending on the exact model.

Air play mirroring mac with mountain lion, sound is working but video is extremely slow to update

I am trying to get air play mirroring working on my mid 2011 Mac book pro and Apple TV 3 (latest one) with mountain lion. I have the icon, it seems to connect to each other, and the screen shows up on my apple TV, yet it doesnt update, takes a long time to show up at all, just keeps showing the same screen. However, the audio works fine, I tried to play a Xfinity stream through safari, the video didnt show up on apple TV but the sound came through with no delay. Any ideas?

I am German, i logged in from german adobe page, i have an adobe-id with location: Germany. after sucessfully buying it and installing all stuff (also german in options), photoshop and lightroom work fine, but only as Test-version with 30 days left.
I am logged in with my adobe-id in the programs, but why this is only test-version? will the payment take some days and then it will turn into full version next days automatically?
