also my MBP slow when playing some moviesYes on my MBP 3,1 I had aritifacts in Lion, they are gone now because I wiped that bad cat off and went back to Snow where everything, inluding the UI, just works.
In fact I'm happier on this old 15" than I'm on my $4000 new 17" high res. I bought in a panic because of Lions release. (it has snow too)
So my first piece of advice would be to back up files and go back to Snow Leopard.
If your going to stick with Lion, then backup files and command r boot from the Recovery Partition and reinstall Lion there, you need a Ethernet or Wired Internet connection and some time as it takes a bit to download and then install.
By jsut reinstalling Lion (not erasing the disk first) it keeps your programs and files in place (but backup anyway)
Hopefully that might solve your issue, it didn't work for me three times, so I;m back on Snow and staying there.

Every time after shutting down my 24" iMac, it will end up with a corrupted HD which cannot be fixed by disk utility and require to reformat the HD and restore.
I noticed the Mac OS journal format will turn into no journal. Does anybody have he same problem?I have to ask; Are you using the Shut Down... menu item in the "apple" menu to shut down? Does it shut down normally when you do?

ITunes denies me the ability to change the info of my media. Anyone have the same problem?
Whenever you desire to change the information on a certain music file or movie you've saved to your apple device (In my case, an iPhone 4S), the only things that pop up on screen are the "Play (Insert name of media here)" or below that: "Get info". And even if you do click on "Get Info", you can only LOOK at the info already there and you can't change it! Before this problem arose, there used to be a long list of options you could select from for that specific media file you chose. Things like ratings, copy, delete, consolidate files, get artwork, etc. were at my fingertips, and now iTunes has refused me these luxeries! The thing I miss the most is being able to click on the "Get Info" option and actually CHANGING THE INFO of the media file instead of just looking at it with the color of the font being gray and not allowing you to change it! If I wanted to rename a video I got from the internet or give proper credit to the person who uploaded said video, I could do so in the past, but not now! Also, I cannot drag a music track or video file from my Video files of my computer's hard drive and place them into my Movies of iTunes or my iPhone 4S! It used to be so quick and easy to click and drag what you wanted into your device, But now it's just such a pain! I ask if anyone has this same problem and better yet, if anyone has a solution to this? All considerate thoughts and actions are appreciated. Thank you.

I had my Imac27' for about 1 year (I bought it january 2011) , and it worked fine. But two days ago a problem started. The screen is turning black suddently, and it stay like that until I reboot it. It's not cool. The first time it happen it was hafter a very long days of video editing, I tought it was to hot. But now I just started up the Imac and 10 minutes later it happen. And now I transfer my desktop on my second screen, because the one of my Imac is constantly shutting of. What is this? Can I do something about that?
I´ve came across with the same problem and when I look out for solutions I found out that basically I had Three options
1.- Dim the brightness to the first 2 dots (that is the limit for me, anything above that shuts down again my screen)
2.- Replace an expensive part of the screen (about $900)
3.- Try with an external monitor to see if the problem was the screen or something else
What I did was to plug my flat screen to my mac with a Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter

And… Problem Solved! now Im going to buy a Monitor that gonna cost me less than half of the replacement parts, my main monitor will keep siting down if i dim it above the 2 dots but at least I will have the other to work properly

I've just signed up to iTunes Match as I have songs on my iPhone 4 which wont sync with iTunes as they are from CDs but I can't see my music in the cloud now. Anyone had the same problem and have an easy fix?
What fixed it for me:
On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
Uncheck "Sync Music"
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
Let it run and finish
Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
See if that doesn't work for you. I tried a lot of things that did nothing, but this seems to have fixed it, and quickly. -
My iPhone 5 screen is completely black. I can hear it working (you can hear Siri if you push the home key) but I can't see anything. I've tried a hard reset but that hasn't worked. Any other ideas? I have a call in to get a replacement but it won't come in until next week so until then I don't have a working phone!
Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts. This usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

The SMS links thing is highly annoying. You don't have to copy/paste however. You should see an icon like this: (>) to the right of the text bubble with the link. Tap on that, the in the screen that opens, tap "Visit".
Alternatively, you can tap twice directly on the link, then hold your finger down after the second tap.
Still unnecessarily difficult, but not as bad as copy/paste.
What I don't get is why can't I find any mention of this change or how to fix it (if even possible) elsewhere online? -
Help. Photoshop CC14 on Mac 5k (2014) running Yosemite 10.10.1. Photoshop stops responding when I'm opening files, saving files or creating new ones. Is anyone suffering the same problem? Does anyone have an answer?
First, go install the MacOS 10.10 updates - you should be on 10.10.2.
I haven't heard of Photoshop not responding during opens and saves. Does it stop responding while the open/save dialogs are visible, or while Photoshop is actually reading or writing files?
10.10.1 did fix a crash in the open/save dialogs, but 10.10.2 still has some odd issues (mostly program errors coming from the OS code) in the open/save dialogs. -

Everytime I open Safari it downloads a series of blank.aspx files into my downloads folder. Anyone having the same problem?
Has there been a fix for this yet? I am downloading close to 150 blank aspx files every 15 minutes. I have tried the fix from Carolyn Samit and the AdBlock seems to be working thus far, but when it is not working it launches Adobe Dreamweaver. Which is going berzerker.
Any help would be much appreciated.

My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. I have updated my Mac I tried to update iTunes but thats when i got the can not restore unknown error (9). I tried another cord I tried to update iTunes again but nothing kept getitng error code. I Then deleted iT
