iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.

    How crap is that?
    It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?
and maintain a current backup of your computer.

  • Is this yet another problem with 7.5 or is it just me . . .

Upgrade seemed to be fine, at first . . . now I keep getting distortion on songs. It seems to be quite random and just because a song has been distorted when I've listened to it once doesn't mean it will be when I listen to it again! It's driving me insane. Is this yet another bug or have I done something wrong (apart from upgrading to 7.5).

    Hi Emlou,
If you have a Windows based operating system such as XP -
It seems to me that you are suffering what I am having the same problem with - the program takes up to much of your computer's processing usage. If you go into your task manager and watch performance as ITunes runs - you will see how much of the total computer usage it is taking at any given moment - that's why your songs are distorted, slowing, garbled, etc - the usage on mine spikes from 11% - 93% AT ANY GIVEN MINUTE! I have no idea why, but I have found that by going to your "Control Panel" and clicking on Quicktime you can adjust audio output to help. Click the audio tab, click Safe Mode Wavout only (checkbox) / Then adjust the "Rate" to 96kHz / Then adjust the "Size" to 16 bit. Close that and shut down and restart Itunes - it might help a little for you.
Maybe someone out there can help us find out why we are suffering with all the CPU usage trouble and how to adjust that spiking.
    Thanks!
    Paul

  • [yet another] problem with proxy

On my PC, sometimes I am connected directly to the Internet and sometimes via VPN. In the latter case, all Internet traffic goes via http/https/socks proxy. In either of these situations Skype works well, but...
The is a problem when I disconnect from VPN, that is:
    1. I am connected directly to the Internet
    2. Skype is working well
    4. I connect to VPN
    5. Bang...Skype gets disconnected and does not manage to re-connect
    6. I re-start Skype and everything is OK (that is, Skype starts working via proxy)
Funny thing is, that in the opposite direction (when I start Skype while connected to VPN and than disconnect the VPN tunnel), Skype manages to detect this (probably because the VPN network interface goes down) and re-connects automatically. However, it cannot re-connect automatically when VPN tunnel is established.

finally ive got some one suffering in same problem.
hei buddy me also having the same prob.
    i use cakewak for recordings
during recording there is no prob
but when i play the tracks my new recorded track started to get faster then the previous track
as i play guitar on the basis of drums track
after a min it is no more on beat
    its beame half socond faster
havent you solved your prob yet???

  • Yet another problem; iPod not recognized in windows after uninstall

So I'm still trying to fix my faulty iPod and now, after Apple telling me to uninstall and re-install the USB software, it is not recognized, when I plug my iPod in it comes up "installing software" then asks for a disk, thing is I was not given a disk with my iPod and I don't think iPod touch uses a disk either anyway.
This is really irritating as I think I have a solution to my original problem and now it's doing this...
    Any help ?

    Thank you
    I actually managed to fix it this way;
My laptop (Advent Roma) decided to freeze all USB ports so after restoring my laptop back to how it was on the 27th (Last week) I re-installed iTunes and put my iPod cable back in, it installed again but this time appeared in iTunes, it still won't restore but I'm glad it's recognized again

  • Yet another problem opening HTTPS web sites

As near as I can tell I've tried all the other suggestions on this forum to fix this kind of problem... And, I'm still getting
    Safari can't open the page
Safari can't open the page https://blah.blah.blah
because it couldn't establish a secure connection to the server...
I've reset Safari, repaired keychains, file permissions, and deleted .plist files, keychain files, etc. But, still cannot go to a secure site... Most specifically Yahoo mail, Hotmail, GMail, etc.
I would really welcome further suggestions?
    Thanks,

  • K7n2delta2 lsr yet another problem

i am not sure if the problem i am having is windows based, processor, or mb
ok what is happening is when i use windows media player, or try and burn a cd, or even photoshop my computer freezes. to the point were i have to power the whole system down. i can't do anything, mouse freezes, keyboard you name it.
i have ran memtest 86 and my memory checked out good
i have all the lastest windows updates, and all mb as wel:  drives, bios etc.
any ideas to what is going on
oh and all temps are good, running below 50C according to speedfan. the case has plenty of air

    OK
This heatsink has been recommended in the past.
I would start by reseating the processor; ensure you clean off old thermal paste/pad and apply some new paste; a tiny amount on cpu die.  Ensure heatsink is correctly mounted; it can go on wrong way.
thanks to Dr Stu for image.
Is your case free of dust and does it have good air flow?  Intake fan at front of case and exhaust at back?
Did you notice idle/stressed system temps?

  • Another person with yet another problem, JVC and iMovie '08

Ok, so I've downgraded my Quicktime to allow me to import my .MOD from my JVC Everio HD camera, and I can open them without a problem in Quicktime, but I cannot open them in iMovie '08. I just upgraded to a MBP with Leopard, and I can still use iMovie HD without a problem, but I cannot import any of the projects over or import any of the files into iMovie '08. Anyone know a solution to this? Or should I just write iMovie '08 off until I can manage to sell my expensive paper weight?

You probably have a Realtek/AC97 or other chipset, you could try the AC97 audio drivers at the following location:  http://www.realtek.com/downloads/
If you don't have that audio device, supplying the dell model number or audio device name you see in device manager, would be helpful.

  • Awesome. Yet another problem

Now whenever I use the phone for 5-10 minutes it heats up and I lose signal and get the message "Can't receive or make calls". Error, go to apple.com/support. I go there and the recommendation is to reset the device. I reset it. I wait 15 mins for phone to cool down, turn it on and I get a signal. Use the phone for a little bit (redoing my settings that got reset), signal drops, error message again. This along with the idiotically low volumes on phone calls, messages etc has about pushed me to the limit on this thing. Apple clearly wasn't meant to be in the phone business. Strip the phone out and make this an iPod only with WiFi.
Now I have to head on out to the Apple store to have this brick looked at. Awesome.

Jeff, sometimes an easy fix for this is to de-authorize the computer in iTunes/Advanced menu, then to re-authorize it. You do this by playing one of the songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store in iTunes. It should ask you for your Apple ID and password, then the computer will be authorized again. Sync you iPod with iTunes, and those songs should play again.
Another common cause of this is not having the latest version of iTunes (4.9).

  • Yet another problem getting a .jar file working on Mountain Lion

The program I need to run is used for generating sounds. Its a simple java program, set up in a Windows .msi container: http://innertotality.com/?q=node/9
I currently have the most up to date Java build from Oracle, according to their online test: v7 update 15. However, it shows up in Terminal after a java -version command as 1.6.0_41.
Whatever version it is, I can't get this program running on it. I've pulled the .msi file apart to get the cab file, pulled that apart to get my jar file, in this case "headwave.jar". Clicking on it makes the JRE icon appear in the dock and do its dance, then it closes down. I can repeat that all I want and never get a running app out of it. I've opened the console up and watched for messages. This is all I've managed to get:
    2/23/13 9:58:44.218 PM login[2871]: USER_PROCESS: 2871 ttys000
Nothing more, and I've only seen that once. I get more out of Console simply dragging a word around in this box to edit this post.
If anyone could shed some light on what I need to do to get this running, I would greatly appreciate it. There are very few Mac OS X sound tools available to do what I need so this is really holding my project back. Most everything out there has to do with professional or amateur audio editing, not pure tone generation. I tried ToneGen and it just isn't doing what I need, and Perfect Tone and Tone Generator X haven't been updated for Intel Macs.

No I haven't, but I just tried it. I tried to cd to the desktop (worked), found the Headwave folder with ls and then cd into it, found the jar folder I extracted earlier (disk1), cd into it, etc etc. I found HeadWave.jar and knew I had the right directory. java -jar HeadWave.jar gave me the following:

  • Yet another problem....

to go along with the other countless issues with this Macbook, now some programs don't work, Activity monitor, Tomato torrent, Azureus, are some of them, I know that Tomato torrent, and Azureus are 3rd party, but Activity monitor doesn't even work. Tried restarting a few times, still nothing, it will bounce in dock once or twice, then that's it, nothing running. What is going on?

When I use monolingual, I keep the english and us english on the system, and never played with input menu and the architecture.
I believe the architecture will remove the compatibility on certain program for runs on rossetta that not run on native intel mac OS X. The term might not be correct but it remove the G3, G4, and G5 architechture that rosetta need to translate it to run it on intel Mac OS X.
During your installation if you sure your installer disk in a good shape you can skip detecting and examining the installer disk and it save you more time.
    Good Luck.

  • Ok, yet another problem with my mini...frusterating much?

Alright, I have an iPod mini, it is a 4 Gig Ipod mini, said to hold up to a thousand songs or so. Mine currently is holding 438 songs. My itunes on the other hand has 703 songs, and only holds up to 3.69 gigs. Which leaves me with a fair bit of room I would think. I am hesitant to use the restore to factory settings thing and erase everything since i have had such trouble with that in the past. My ipod says there is not enough free space to hold all those songs and furthermore I have lost quite a few off of my mini. I don't know what I should do and how to go about it! Any help would be wonderful. Thanks.
    Sarah

No in actual fact its about 449, I went and restored my ipod, and that's pretty bad if they advertise it for 4 gigs and only give you 3.7 gigs. But in any case it has held up to 703 in the past, which is how many I have in my library at the moment. But it just spent about six hours updating and hasn't moved which I don't understand. Should I restore it again? I don't know what else to do, I can get rid of some of my songs, but I wouldn't like too, there is enough space for all my fav's. So I'm at a loss of what to do. Help? Also, when I was having trouble before it did this as well, but I don't know how I fixed it, it was quite a few months ago. I keep getting this error that says " disk cannot be read from or written too" does that have something to do with my usb port?

  • Yet another Mac Book Pro (A1211/2.33 GHz) freeze problem

    Hi everyone,
I have yet another freeze mystery, if people fancy having a crack at it.
I had this notebook for about 4 and a half years and it served me well until 2 months ago. It is a 15' MBP from December 2008 (A1211) with a 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo and 2GB of RAM.
Now I constantly get lags or freezes while I am using it.It manifests itself via the beachball and a frozen screen. First, I thought it was the hard drive but I replaced it with a tested new one and I still get the same behaviour. The reason I thought it was the HD is that it seems to freeze often when there was a lot of access to HD or memory. For example, firefox would cause a freeze quite often when it was trying to access the cache or history. I get the same behaviour when trying indexing my music for the genius feature. Often when I close applications, it will halt the system for about 2 minutes.
I think the number of lags also correlates with temperature. I am pretty sure that the notebook's heat diffusion properties has deteriorated strongly over the past year as it seems to be using the fans a lot more extensively. The heatsink seems to get really hot these days as well. So my next step would be checking the thermal paste on the heat sink. Before I am going to do that, I want to consider any remaining options as dismantling the laptop up to the heatsink is a bit of a pain.
My gut feeling would be that it has to do either with the memory or maybe some 'bridge' that transfers the data between HD, GPU, CPU and memory. I am aware that bridge is the wrong word and I am simplifying the architecture of the mainboard too much, but I am sure you get what I mean. The data rate between some of those is inhibited.
The reason why I am saying some is that often the system seems overwhelmed by the amount of commands, just sits there and then resumes executing all of them as it had taken a break. This can be easily seen when streaming video in a web browser. I often get the beach ball and my whole screen freezes, but the movie, or at least the sound, keeps running in the background. After a while it usually resumes and shows the movie at the current playing position. Sometimes it doesn't recover, not even after 30 minutes and I have to switch it off.
I hope I provided enough information for you guys to have a think about this.
Any help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.

Before re-installing the operating system, which might also work, I found this article helpful:
    http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/Fix-Spod-How-To-Fix-A-Spinning-Pinwheel -Of-Death.htm
I've followed the directions since they seem to make sense and am waiting for the next Pinwheel of Death. They seem to be saying the same thing you are Chris, but ascribe the problem to 'permissions' which are fixable (gasp) via the OS disc utility.

  • Another problem... yet again HELP!

I am having yet another issue with my blackberry curve 8530. I already am aware the battery (CS-2) needs to be replaced due to the fact that I need to charge it 3 times a day. Additionally however, it reboots itself 2 times a day also.. Requiring me to charge it 5 times a day now. Once it reboots the battery becomes completely drained of course. Is there any specific cause to the phone rebooting? Or is it possibly linked to my battery needing to be replaced? I just don't want to spend $50 on a new battery if my phone reboot issue is unfixable.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi britters,
Sorry to hear you're having issues with rebooting and battery life on your  BlackBerry® Curve™ 8530 smartphone.
You can rule out any possible software issue that may be causing this by backing up your data using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and performing a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software. For further instructions, please see the following KB articles.
For Windows®: "How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows" http://bbry.lv/GI9beY
For Mac: "Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://bbry.lv/J0UN1U
Please test to make sure both issues have been resolved before restoring any data from your backup file. If the software reload does not resolve the issues, I would suggest testing with another battery if possible.
    Hope this helps.

  • Yet Another Exchange won't sync Calendar

This is not a question but an answer, most appropriate to add to thread 7713558 but that is closed.
I had my Outlook email, calendar and contacts sync'd and of course made the mistake to also sync it with itunes getting double entries. Removing the contacts and calendar on the iTouch however would leave all birthday events still in the calendar. Since it is easier for me to work on Unix than on iTunes I jailbroke the Touch and following an available instruction SSH'd in and copied /private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar/Calendar.sqlitedb to my PC and edited it with sql to remove the birthdays and placed the calendar back on the iTouch. Now since then it wouldnt sync my calendar. Still would have the contacts and the email. However when trying to fix it, I removed the account and recreated it, rebooted the iTouch - no email no contacts no calendar.
Then I SSH'd back into the Touch and copied the old calendar file in - be it with another name. I then tried to delete the existing calendar.sqlitedb which it wouldnt let me do and then I renamed it. To my big surprise I suddenly saw 3 calendars: the renamed, the backup from the PC and a brand new calendar.sqlitedb with a lot more bytes!! Suddenly als email came in and contacts were there.
I must admit that in the meantime I also switched local syncing off and on with itunes but that only resulted in outlook sync crashes. When I reconnected the iTouch to itunes I immediately stopped the syncing and unchecked the local contacts, calendar and email. I rebooted the Touch. It is all a bit messy in terms of procedure but I dont want to take away the reality of problem finding and dont know exactly what the right procedure is. But I think renaming the calendar was the trick that did it.
One more thing about Exchange syncing. Even when having all the username domain etc fields inputted right then in my case it was still necessary to send an email to my Exchange admin to request enabling mobile access!! You can imagine how many times I tried different settings! D**n it!
I like the iTouch because it is such a lovely Unix computer but it hasnt been one bit easier learning to squeeze this device into my day to day needs than exploring Ubuntu for the first time.

Reset sync history. On a mac open isync then choose preferences and reset sync history. Be sure to back up your iPhone also before this happens. Are you sure that you don't have manually manage music and video checked underneath the options page when you first open iTunes? This could also possibly hinder your ability to sync over music.
