Yhteensopivuusasioissa minulle on laitettu Windows XP (Service Pack 2), vaikka se on Windows 7 (Service Pack 2); vai kuuluvatko ne samaan ryhmittymään?)

I am using a window 7 professional service pack 1 and I purchase REMOTE DESKTOP SERVICES CLIENT ACCESS LICENSES FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS SERVER 2012 STANDARD AND DATACENTER. but the seller did not send me any installation CD or instruction
on how to use it.
Please how can I use it on my window 7 professional service pack 1.
Thank you.Though Bill is absolutely correct for most CALs, Remote Desktop Services does have its own special licensing server. I haven't installed one on 2012, yet, but here is a step-by-step guide for 2008.

But, the explanation of your environment begs the question - what are you trying to do? You say you have a desktop OS and you are talking about Windows Server products. In that light, your question does not make a lot of sense.

Hi All,
I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 in my environment. I want to do a service monitoring on specific agents. When i try creating this service monitor which comes under the Management pack template when i select the service which i want to monitor it does not
show all the services in the drop down.
For example - I have Windows audio service which is present on the machine, But it is not showing in the service list.
So from the services stating from "W" i see only 5 in SCOM and in services.msc in the Agent i see more than 5.
Below is the screen shot.
Can any one please help.
Gautam.75801Hi Yan Li,
So based on your above suggestion, If the services are already managed / monitored by a specific
management pack those services will not appear here in the Wizard while creating this type of a Management pack object alert right ?
If that is the case why does not the same reflect here in the operations console in the Services monitor
TAB ?

Windows 8.1 - Windows Couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service
I have an issue that has been bothering me for a while on new 8.1 computers. Standard users are not able to log into the computer on the first try consistently. They receive the error message: Group Policy client service failed the sign-in access is
denied. They are stuck at the logon screen.
If an administrator logs in (local or domain), they can log in but get a black desktop with two error messages. The first is Location is Not available - C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. The second error message is a popup
balloon. It states "Failed to Connect to a Windows service. Windows couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service."
When a standard user attempts to log in, event viewer records three warnings. They are listed in order from oldest to newest
The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> was unavailable to handle a critical notification event. -Logged 9:14:44
The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> failed a critical notification event. - Logged 9:14:44
The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> was unavailable to handle a notification event. - Logged 9:14:49
After a reboot, users still have the issue. I noticed that the user profile services and system event notification service are not running though their startup type is automatic. They start after a minute or two.Hi Joseph__Moody,
Based on your description ,I assume it is a domain environment .First of all ,I would suggest you to try to update all the machine .
"I have an issue that has been bothering me for a while on new 8.1 computers"
Do you mean all the Windows 8.1 machine share the same symptom or just a specific one ?Did the machine work correctly before ?When did the issue start to occur ?Have you installed any third party software before ?Can we operate the machine when we login with
an administrator account ?
If the issue occurred with the specific machine :
"The first is Location is Not available - C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable."
Please try the following suggestions if we can operate the machine when we login with the administrator account :
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile and verify if it has the Desktop folder there. If the folder doesn`t exit, we can copy from C:\users\Default\Desktop location(This folder is hidden by default).
We also can try the following suggestions to have a troubleshoot :
1.Run "sfc /scannow"or "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" to check the health of the system files.
2.Perform a full scan with an antivirus software.
3."They start after a minute or two."
I suspect there is a third party service confilct here. Please perform a clean boot to verify whether there is a third party conflict here .
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135
If the issue occurred with multiple machines in the domian ,I would suggest you to check whether you have configured any logon scripts and logon group policy .We can remove the machine from the domain to have a troubleshoot .
If the issue occurred recently ,we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous normal point.
Best regards

I was getting an update and it would not load so I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Now when it reinstalls it gets to the end and it comes up with the following error message.
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
This is on my desktop that I have had for a number of years that has had itunes for a number of years. I have an two ipods and an ipad associated with the itunes account. Now I can not get it to go past this message.Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:

I restarted my computer but still have this issue.
I changed the setting from "install updates automatically" to "never check for updates". clicked ok and then changed back to "install updates automatically". Tried to check for updates and still receive the same error.
Windows defender was turned off. I turned it on updated it but still receive the same error message.
The background intelligent transfer service and windows update are set to "automatic delayed start" and the status for both is "started".

Reviewing Windows NT Rights and Privileges Granted for SQL Server Service Accounts
Hi Folks,
I am an experienced .NET apps developer who has been tasked with writing a bunch of technical controls for all the SQL Server instances on a domain.
So for the last month I have been diving in the deep end learning Powershell, dba and infrastructure tasks. This is still a work in progress, so be kind to me.. ;o)
So the task I am stuck on is described in the section on 'Reviewing Windows NT Rights and Privileges Granted for SQL Server Service Accounts' http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143504(v=sql.105).aspx
I have not been able to find cmdlets that gives me this information. I have found some exes which come frustratingly close like NTRights.exe. This lets me specify a computer name which is great, but only seems to let you set or deny permissions, not just
list them!
Any help with this would be very much appreciated as I am firmly stuck. As per comments above also bear in mind that up until around 1.5 months ago I had never used powershell / knew very much at all about SQL server admin etc. Feeling much more comfortable
with them now, but much less so with Active Directory/ windows permission structures etc so please can I ask anyone kind enough to reply to try and keep the acronyms down as much as humanly possible.. ;o)
Cheers
KieronHi Kieron,
Take a look at this module, it makes permissions much easier to work with than what's currently available:

Make WDS Service account approve pending devices in WINDOWS DEPLOYMENT SERVICES
Hi Technet and all other people reading this.
I am at the moment trying to get a Service account(WDSService) to approve pending devices in Windoes Deployment Services on a WDS server.
I have created a domain called LALALA.dk on a server(DNS is included in the domain), and installed windows deployment services on another server. The Deployment service is setup to prestage devices, and therefore devices needs to be approved before it can
be deployed.
My problem is that at the moment, we are using Domain Admin accounts to do the approving and i wish to change that to a service account, made specially for this job which ofc. should have minimum right. Because i have a very hard time understanding
why i NEED to grant domain admin rights or local admin rights to a person just so that he can approve pending devices. There has to be a way to use a service account to do the job.
I have done some research and found out that local admin, domain admins and enterprise admins are the only onces that have the permission to approve pending devices, and that a problem for me, when i want a service account to do it for me(Not automatically)
but a service account that can name and approve devices manually.
Here is what i have allready tried.
1. making WDSService run the Windows Deployment Services (service), but this didnt work because it lacks the permissions needed.
2. I have given the read+write permissions on the remoteinstall folder, even tried with full control.
3. Delegate control on the OU in active directory, to create computer object, with full write permissions. I also tried with full control. I added both WDSServer$ and the service account(WDSService) on the OU. Still nothing.
4. I then downloaded subinacl tool, and granted WDSService account permission to start, stop the service, even tried with full control on the Windows Deployment Service(WDSServer as server_name). I get error 1297 something with priviledge missing from the
service account to perform the actions. So still nothing. Which is really weird when i ran a command i cant remember now, where i could see that the service account had full permission granted to the service, and still was'nt able to start the service.
5. I then tried to create a script using WDSUTIL, but was not able to grant the service account permissions to perform the action of approving pending devices. And i dont want to use a script everytime i need to approve a device.
6. Since the local system account is running the Windows Deployment Service , my thought was to join the WDSService account to the built-in NT AUTHORITY/local system or NT AUTHORITY/local service, this seems impossible from what i experienced, unless you
are super powershell geek i quess you can, so this option didnt get me anywhere as well.
6. I then created a gpo granting wdsservice account the "log on as a service" policy on the Windows deployment service Server, still nothing works as attended. I still get error 1297.
7.I tried copying the registry keys (WDSSERVER) from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive on the WDS Server, and imported it into my Domain's registry, but could'nt find the service i wanted to grant permissions to in the group policy settings (computer configuration/policies/windows
settings/security settings/System Services) I then created a registry entry with group policy (computer configuration/policies/windows settings/security settings/registry) to point to (local machine/system/controlset001/services/WDSServer) and granting
WDSService account full control and deployed the policy to the Deployment server. Nothing happend and i still cant approve pending devices with my service account.
from my understanding service account where created to maintain small certain tasks or actions with limited permissions, so if comprimised they could only do very little damage, and so that this account can be setup to perform the tasks without any administation
of the account. So my question is, is it even possible to achieve what i want = granting a service account the permission to perform the action of approving pending devices on a Windows Deployment Server, and if so how ?
I am so confused over this and I am really reaching the limits of my understanding of this.
Help is very much appreciated.

In Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2, all of our online services integration features, including Azure Active Directory and Office 365, are supported only in environments that
have a single domain controller. In environments with more than one domain controller, integration of these services is blocked due limitations in the user account and password synchronization mechanism in Windows Server Essentials.
I am happy to announce that with the recent Windows August Update released on (8/12/2014, PST), this limitation has been removed. This update adds support for both Azure
Active Directory integration and Office 365 integration features in domain environments consisting of a single domain controller, multiple domain controllers, or Windows Server Essentials as a domain member server.

- You install or remove a program that uses the Microsoft Installer Service before you try to install the program on your computer.
- The Windows Installer Service is not running.
- The Windows Installer registry settings are corrupted or configured incorrectly.
this is the last step before perform recovery OS, it wont affected the program, but you need to backup data, adjust setting and upgrade to SP1/SP2 again. Please check this 2 document below

Language Pack not usable message in Windows 8.1
Hello, I have Asus X202E Vivobook bought with Windows 8 Japanese OS version. I had the OS switched to English. Yesterday
I installed Windows 8.1, I can see that the english language pack is still there in the system but it shows unavailable. I'm unable to switch the OS back to English or read anything as I do not know japanese.
I tried to install another english language display of English (UK) but it's just not working. So for example, if I open
my control panel, everything is in Japanese, whereas before the 8.1 update, I was able to view everything in English.
Could anyone suggest what I should do to switch to english?
Regards.Hi,
I've done it. Since I know little about computers and even less the expressions used. I will try to explain step by step.
As I said in previous message, I couldn't do anything with EN (GB) language pack. At that point I had on the English language options - windows display language written something much longer than I saw on some guy's video on youtube
(showing just Japanese to English display language settings). I also had in previous response mentioned situation:
In advanced settings in language settings I set English as override
for windows display language, even though there was unavailable (使用不可) written
in the brackets. When I noticed, on another blog (with screen shots etc.), that the selection in the same settings
bar was: use language list (recommended).
I choose this one on my computer (I know a bit Chinese, and since the characters are
the same at least I could read the names of the countries, and chosen the one witch didn't mean a country and had sth written in the brackets). At
that time I again had in English language options - windows display language option to download and install it.
Which I did, and I got almost everything in English right away (without even restarting or signing out/in). Now when I go to English language options
- windows display language there is written: available.
Today (with English back) I set also the welcome screen and some other details, but there is one survival left and it's Language (言語)
title in the Control Panels Date, Language and Region. And he can stay :D
Even though I didn't get answer directly on the page, I've got it indirectly through writing posts and articulating the problem. So thank you and I hope that above explanation can
help somebody else too.

P.s.: I added links and photos, but since my account isn't verified yet I had to remove them all. -
